My husband who is in remission from membranous nephropathy has been equally as invested in the lifestyle we have adopted as a direct result of you, is also thriving. What an awesome outcome. I am so glad you found the Diabetes Code instead of following what the other doctors were saying. My husband was in the same boat 6 years ago. As an introvert, I can tell you that he is definitely an introvert. He is just passionate and extremely knowledgeable about his work and that’s why he does these videos and comes across as confident in his subject. As an introvert myself who often finds themselves in such situations at work, I can’t tell you how much it takes out of you, it’s draining, but you do it because no one else will. So much appreciated Dr Fung.

From Ottawa thank you for making more aware of all the good nutrition I’m putting in my body I am using OMAD now I am down 45 pound I exercise almost every day. I have stenosis and 5 vertebrae with ostéophyte and a bad knee that the surgeon won’t operate because of m back problems. OK I do need a walker when I go out the door but other than that I feel great.

@hifthishana3161 not sure I understand your question. If you're asking if most people can put type 2 diabetes into remission the answer is yes. Not type 1 but it can require less insulin medication. Dr. Fung has the data and the plan to help you and anyone you know to accomplish this.
Dr Fung you saved my life and i had an A1c of 15.4 and then since then which is about 8 years ago my A1C was last told to me to be 5.9. My doctor even lowered my medication and they said if it goes lower next visit, they will take away more medication. I fast 23 hours a day 4 days a week and 18 hours a day 1 day a week and enjoy the weekends and holidays. Thank you Dr Fung - you are my guardian angel

If you just want to have someone to complain and cry to because you don’t want to deny yourself (fast) and just want to literally sooth your emotions with food ( which works by the way, yet doesn’t solve the addiction) these coaches will let you spend more money on the platform or they will be tough and clear your mind with what you are doing to yourself. After one week it’s easy as long as you don’t eat carbs which are the soothing drug of choice. Thank you Dr Fung!
@@debiwillis9045 anything made with white flour, potatoes from the ground, sweet potatoes from the ground,hybridized fruits and veggies as well. Eat the best meat you can and if u must greens. Eat 2 times per day . Don’t eat until 1pm then again if you want at 5 or 6 or 7. When you cut out carbs you don’t feel hungry or tired once you switch to a fat burning machine.
Hi Dr. Fung, I am doing 14-16 hours fasting and low carb diet for about four month A1c dropped from 5.7 to 5.6, the most important thing is I am no longer feeling sleep after lunch and never feel really hungry!
Hello Dr. Fung. I am so glad that you are helping people rediscover the powerful value of fasting. I would like to recommend a research study for you and it involves a health principle I became acquainted with some years ago and that is with the subject of energy. As we know, the body only has so much energy to deal with all the bodily functions. When we consume things that the body does not recognize, artificial ingredients in our foods, preservatives, additives, etc, the body has to prioritize what it will process/eliminate. Viruses and harmful bacteria are a high priority. Everything else that the body cannot recognize is stored for later processing. The body becomes like the home of a hoarder and EVERYTHING takes more energy to deal with, like trying to find something in a cluttered house. Disease is inevitable. Just an idea for what could be your next best seller.

My husband and I have been doing intermittent fasting for 5months or more.(didn’t write when, damn!) we have both lost over 17 lbs. I am down to one Lisinopril from two . My husband has reduced Metformin to one from three. Whoooooo!
I have been using fasting for almost 20 years and when I started fasting there was not a lot of information on the web. I have been using it as a quick fix to make me feel better, just a couple years ago I was diagnosed with pre-diabetic and I believe that it is fasting that have kept me from being full blown diabetic. I am still working on habitually eating right but I have been using OMAD more consistently since April 2024 and have lost around 25 pounds. I have a long way to go but finally learning more about what foods are going to be sustainable for me. There are so many different diets out there that work, my confusion was Keto vs. WFPB ... so I ended up doing both at the same time, and that was a mistake. Knowing that a fast could heal me and reverse the damage may have caused me to be a bit reckless always thinking about that 40 day water fast that I would be doing when I had the opportunity.
Thank You for all your you tube videos. I cured my type 2 diabetes and I fast 18-6 everyday. My cholesterol numbers have also come way down. I got rid of all the ultra processed foods and eliminated pasta, white flour, all bread, sugar and starch foods. No problem. The new issue is high blood pressure which I'm trying control. I got rid of my mouthwash and trying to increase my nitric oxide by taking a supplement high in potassium and magnesium. I try to walk every day. Any other suggestions?

Well he certainly has helped anyone willing to critically analyze the state of nutrition science. I would say that in part owning to his work and success that the tide is turning. 20 years ago you could not even talk to your doctor about a fasting and a low carb diet without being completely dismissed. There are still hold out registered dieticians, but this is for the most part no longer considered dangerous fad dieting. My guess is that it will continue to gain traction over the next 20 years.

40 years ago a so called potassium soup fast for 10 days was used to reset the body’s metabolism. Made from potato peelings grated carrots and a green leafy vegetable chopped into it. You could snack all day on this, plus other fasting friendly drinks, eg teas or an occasional black coffee. I am wondering if this would also work to reverse autoimmune problems.
I read one of your books and was truly inspired. I don’t remember what I did but I got my A1c down from 13 to 8. I find fasting difficult because I take medication that requires me to eat outside of diabetes diagnosis. What is your recommendation in this case.
Low carb and high protein makes me very hungry which makes me a unicorn I guess. Sucks! Big money in diabetes glad you laid out the truth and the “associations” had to give up their false information. Being in the US it makes me sick to have to dodge so many chemicals. Hi Dr. Fung, I am doing 14-16 hours fasting and low carb diet for about four month A1c dropped from 5.7 to 5.6, the most important thing is I am no longer feeling sleep after lunch and never feel really hungry!

Hello Dr. Fung. I am so glad that you are helping people rediscover the powerful value of fasting. I would like to recommend a research study for you and it involves a health principle I became acquainted with some years ago and that is with the subject of energy. As we know, the body only has so much energy to deal with all the bodily functions. When we consume things that the body does not recognize, artificial ingredients in our foods, preservatives, additives, etc, the body has to prioritize what it will process/eliminate. Viruses and harmful bacteria are a high priority. Everything else that the body cannot recognize is stored for later processing. The body becomes like the home of a hoarder and EVERYTHING takes more energy to deal with, like trying to find something in a cluttered house. Disease is inevitable. Just an idea for what could be your next best seller.

My cousin, who is a dietitian, recommends your book to me. I been eating cleaning and IF. I am now down 50lbs down.
I have been using fasting for almost 20 years and when I started fasting there was not a lot of information on the web. I have been using it as a quick fix to make me feel better, just a couple years ago I was diagnosed with pre-diabetic and I believe that it is fasting that have kept me from being full blown diabetic. I am still working on habitually eating right but I have been using OMAD more consistently since April 2024 and have lost around 25 pounds. I have a long way to go but finally learning more about what foods are going to be sustainable for me. There are so many different diets out there that work, my confusion was Keto vs. WFPB ... so I ended up doing both at the same time, and that was a mistake. Knowing that a fast could heal me and reverse the damage may have caused me to be a bit reckless always thinking about that 40 day water fast that I would be doing when I had the opportunity.

Thank You for all your you tube videos. I cured my type 2 diabetes and I fast 18-6 everyday. My cholesterol numbers have also come way down. I got rid of all the ultra processed foods and eliminated pasta, white flour, all bread, sugar and starch foods. No problem. The new issue is high blood pressure which I'm trying control. I got rid of my mouthwash and trying to increase my nitric oxide by taking a supplement high in potassium and magnesium. I try to walk every day. Any other suggestions?

Do you think everyone needs to fast? Some influencers say older women who are carnivore should not. I am not overweight. I am therefore not needing to fast from carbs like a lot of folks do. I used to fast, when I was eating differently. I learned so much from you and thank you so much!

This group can’t assist with info and encouragement IF that’s the kind of person you are. Mostly once you know what to do and when to do it that’s it. If you just want to have some to complain and cry to because you don’t want to deny yourself (fast) and just want to literally sooth your emotions with food ( which works by the way, yet doesn’t solve the addiction) these coaches will let us spend more money on the platform or they will be tough and clear your mind with what you are doing to yourself. After one week it’s easy as long as you don’t eat carbs which are the soothing drug of choice.
Well he certainly has helped anyone willing to critically analyze the state of nutrition science. I would say that in part owning to his work and success that the tide is turning. 20 years ago you could not even talk to your doctor about a fasting and a low carb diet without being completely dismissed. There are still hold out registered dieticians, but this is for the most part no longer considered dangerous fad dieting. My guess is that it will continue to gain traction over the next 20 years.

I just have a question if we follow intermittent fasting and keto diet together for weightloss will it increase plaque in the arteries by eating lots of butter, eggs or meat? Plus will it affect to kidney ?
40 years ago a so called potassium soup fast for 10 days was used to reset the body’s metabolism. Made from potato peelings grated carrots and a green leafy vegetable chopped into it. You could snack all day on this, plus other fasting friendly drinks, eg teas or an occasional black coffee. I am wondering if this would also work to reverse autoimmune problems.

I read one of your books and was truly inspired. I don’t remember what I did but I got my A1c down from 13 to 8. I find fasting difficult because I take medication that requires me to eat outside of diabetes diagnosis. What is your recommendation in this case.
