    I was a little frustrated by the lack of cruise control and fuel gauge...the heated grips can be added, but the others can't. That frustration didn't last long, though, once I got reacquainted with having to use the trip meter to give me a clue as to distance covered and so remaining range (I don't rely on fuel warning lights). The lack of cruise control still occasionally irks a little, but I'll get over it - it's such a great bike to ride (and look at).

      I don't have the cruise in my '16 TV4 but about to get the 'Kaoko Throttle Stabilizer' (some say it's the shit) for the next season. I mostly ride on twisty roads where cruise cannot be used, but sometimes my right shoulder starts to hurt like a mofo (age...) and it would be nice to do some stretching while riding.

      I prefer the Vista cruise for my Tuono 16. I used a dremmel to thin it down to fit between the grip and throttle housing. Much easier to use than a Kaoko which I have on my Tiger Sport. Flicking the lever rather than twisting the lock.

    I was fortunate enough to test ride this bike on road and track, really liked it. No fuel gauge is a big problem for me as I’d like to take my bike to the less populated roads and I don’t want to be stranded one day because I forgot to put fuel in. Cruise control I can do without, never felt comfortable to use it anyway. Went with the new mt10 sp instead.

      @rhemyis ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For such an expensive bike yes it's weird it doesn't have a fuel gauge, the only reason being the manufacturer didn't want to make it available, why, I don't know and can not understand their approach. But you can resolve this problem quite easily, if you get to know your bike you know roughly how many kilometers your ride with a full tank so you can guide based on the odometer.

      @@rhemyis I’m always baffled how no fuel gauge can floor some people. Im used to resetting the trip meter every time from riding older bikes.

      I see a lot of you lovely people talk about fuel gauge so allow me to share my experience with SFV4 milage - once I made 50 kilometres and the other time 40 (from fuel warning lamp on) before my bike shut down. Can’t remember in which mode I rode but probably the first time in “sport” mode and second most probably “race” much of the time.

      Don’t see the problem, every time u refuel reset the trip you know you have a least 100 mile before needing to refuel no hardship at all

    Come ride in Greece, it was 23 degrees here in Corinth couple days ago LOL! Nice review, I love V2s, I ride a Buell and if I won the lottery I'd collect every V2 I could get my hands on, from Morini corsaro 1200 to Voxan, to KTM RC8R etc... But no luck, so I'm happy with my XB12R!

    Saw one of these in the Lamborghini green at the local dealer this morning - looks better than I thought it would. The V2 is a bargain next to the V4 here in Australia about AU$22k for the V2 and AU$37k for the V4SP (not seen many non-sp about).

      $24,500 now. There was a price increase on 01/01/23.
      I managed to get in while they were still $23,200, but I ordered 6 months ago.

    I beg to differ Matt. The V2 is not a powerful enough road bike for a rider of my immense talent and physical prowess. In fact, I’m so well endowed the V4 is not enough so I’m waiting for the 600bhp V10. 😉

    Tough to ride loose and well when the temperatures are in single digits. You end up with so many clothes on its tough to move your neck and upper body. My rule is I don't ride when it's less than 10°c.
    Thanks for suffering for us all to produce this Matt.

    You are 100% right about 1098 SFS which luckily I owned once upon a time..then I got 848 - I was really happy with the ease that bike offered. I wouldn’t even think trying the new SF V2 after I discovered that my 2020 SFV4S has the “STREET MODE”, meaning less but more useable and enjoyable power in the city. Have you ever tried to ride V4 in “Street mode” rather than in “sport” or God forbid “race”..?😅

    If you had the money would you have bought the SFV2 instead of the MT09?

  • @fyorbane
    @fyorbane ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great bike but the cost is too much. For similar or less money you can buy a new Tuono [which I have], Triumph 1200 Speed Triple, BMW S1000R or the new Yam MT10. I think a fairer price would be, say 15,000 Euros. I think that would make it a better buying proposition. Went to a Ducati dealer here in Normandy and there were several V2 Streetfighters lined up all unsold.

      The V2 was a no brainer for me, its more fun, and usable on the roads than the V4, Sure the V4 is a much better bike on the track, but its simply to powerful for the roads

Naked street fighter....not so sure, it looks like it with the amount of plastic it might as well be a full fairing. Does it sound good...true. Is it an attractive motorcycle...not to me. Well equipped for the price....definitely not. Good job Matt.
