Ive owned a Yamaha R1 and a GSXR 750 and now I own the V2. I'd take the V2 any day. The R1 was faster but it was straight line speed and not very comfortable. The V2 is PLENTY fast and handles like a dream, it can shred the twisty roads like nothing Ive been on. I am a way better rider on this bike and enjoy the seating position so much more.
I came from a gsxr 600 and absolutely love the streetfighter v2, I just got it yesterday but I'm already in love. I don't know how fast the 1000 bikes are because I have never rode one, but comparing this to a 600 it is fast and doesn't disappoint. good luck shopping and ride safe!
@@quaffncoff1718 s1000rr had 14k rpms, to feel it’s sheer power I had to be above 9k rpm. That bike was pointless on streets. I love v2s low down grunt. Liter bikes with 200hp are like instead of sheer enjoying let me shit my pants and cheat death one more time kinda deal lmao.
@@ridewithjamal3356 I have put 600 miles on the v2 and am loving it. I have been keeping it under 6k rpm because it says to for break in. I can't wait to fully open her up!
The Ducati Streetfighter V2 packs a punch with its fierce styling and 955cc engine. It’s like riding a lightning bolt with handlebars. Agile handling, comfy seating, and Brembo brakes make it both thrilling and practical-perfect for turning heads and burning rubber.
Done 1,600 miles on mine so far. It’s epic, downsides are it vibrates a lot at low speeds, in town a bit clunky and as you say loads of plastic. But a joy to ride
Great review thanks, pick mine up Saturday, I know it's not the fastest bike out there but plenty for me and it's just as much the ownership of it as riding it 👌
I'm loving it so far, I know it hasn't had universal good reviews but the more I ride it the more I love it, it feels special and feels like an older Ducati somehow.
I picked up mine yesterday, I love it! My old bike was a 2005 gsxr 600 and I am not disappointed on the streetfighter v2. I have never rode a 1000 gsxr or a liter bike, so I am not sure if the v2 is as fast as those but to me it is super fast and I love how easy it is to handle. I am 5 foot 8 inches tall and I feel super comfortable on it. I also think it sounds amazing and like the valve in the exhaust, so when just cruising at low speeds it gets super quiet and not drone. Even though no wind protection it does cut threw the wind. I rode a 2018 ducati scrambler 1100 and they are both naked bikes and I felt like the streetfighter diverted the wind better. But i also plan on getting a wind screen for it, it comes in a week so I can let anyone know how it is if you ask me lol. But all in all I wanted a sport bike that didn't kill my back like the gsxr 600 and I think this is a great upgrade to a bike like that. If you ride a liter bike you may want the v4 version. Awesome review!
Quaffncoff, are you using the optional 20mm lower seat or the stock seat? I’m 5’8” as well and considering ordering the lower seat. My SFV2 arrives in a month. Thanks in advance!
@@emunoz587 I am using the stock seat and can basically flat foot both feet, um the bike does seem like you are sitting high but you get use to it really quickly. Hope this helps and happy riding! Love the bike so far!
Nice review. How do you like riding around town at lower speeds like under 40mph? I heard the bike vibrates or is clunking at lower speeds. I want to buy this bike. Also, no fuel gauge.
A good bike no doubt. This was on my list for a new bike this year. But several things made me change my mind. The price. It's too expensive for what you really get. You can buy other proper super nakeds for the same or less money. I bought the standard new Aprilia 1100 V4 Tuono [and what a bike that is] for less and that comes with cruise control, a fuel gauge , a nicer bigger TFT screen and of course that legendary V4 motor. As good as this bike is Ducati have dropped a clanger with pricing.
@@Shadow-nz1dm Brilliant bike. No issues so far. This latest version is the most refined and any niggles with previous models have been ironed out. Aprilia are generally regarded as the most Japanese like of the Italian bike manufacturers so reliability is generally good. The v4 motor is an absolute legend and there is no bike that sounds better. It is so addictive you cannot stop giggling and grinning every time you open the throttle. For the price this bike cannot be beaten in my humble opinion.
I'd go the S1000R over this. Slightly more power and torque. Loads more creature comforts and doesn't clunk around town feathering the clutch all the time. V2 has to be ridden fast 100% of the time...
Riding with a hood ive always though maybe a little risky if you do come off, its basically a loose bit of clothing around your neck, which could catch on something when sliding down the road, nicely decapitating you. Maybe i over think these things....... lol
@@savvy121 I was really considering those too. But I am big on looks and the SF took that for me. The Yamahas weren’t growing on me. Maybe I can test ride those and consider one as second bike in future

Would've thought the S1000R, single R would've been better than this?

Literally agree with everything you say about it. Still adore it. Dash vibration is a pain, but it's a shit tonne of fun to ride.

Great review. What Alpinestars jacket are you wearing?
Great review.. Clear and to the point without waffle.. wondering why u don’t have more subscribers👍🏼
Looks better than the V4..
Agree, no more exagerrated wings
Being old and stiff I bought the Multi V2, much more useable too than the V4 version. I’m sure I could find room for one of these in the garage😆👍
SF V2 and multi V2 have a different engine
