    Ducati Monster 2023 REVIEW: • The old fans will cry....
    Hi there everyone! Some time ago on my french channel, I uploaded the review of one of the craziest bikes of our times: the Ducati Streetfighter V4. This machine is indeed the most powerful roadster existing today, with more than 208 Hp! And for a lot of people, this is way too much. So Ducati worked, worked, worked... And you know what their conclusion was? That a smaller Streetfighter was needed! Hence the review you have today, and it is my pleasure to test for you the brand new Ducati Streetfighter V2!
    A gigantic thanks for your support since the beginning of this adventure, please don't forget to subscribe to the channel if you like the content and leave a like to show your support, and also a comment to tell me about your impressions on this thing!

    Thanks for the review. I am trying to decide between a Streetfighter V2 or a SuperSport 950S. I have yet to ride either but your comments regarding higher rpm power and torque are very relevant. The SuperSport may be better as a road bike due to making its power and torque much lower in the rpm range.

    • @RodstersTVEN
      @RodstersTVEN  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi there! I would definitely agree that the Supersport has a more pleasing engine in everyday driving, since it is a « classical » 2-cylinder behavior: lots of grunt down there, a bit less in the upper range, so a better compromise for standard use. Still, the Streetfighter V2 is one hell of a machine, but for those that really like the screaming 4-cylinderish type of engines!

      Hello Dark Khent! Thanks a lot for the kind words !
      I had the opportunity to review the 950s on the french channel, but surely making a video to compare some of the supersport and sport-touring on Ducati's side could be a good idea!

      @@RodstersTVEN thanks man. Hope to see that video. Got another suggestion too, if you ever get to review a multistrada v2 make a comparison between the standard and the s model. Why the s model is much more expensive than the standard v2. No one talks about it in their reviews it will help viewers alot knowing those simple differences. More power to your channel man you got a new subscriber here.👍

    A comparison between Street Fighter V2 and Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS would be great to watch! I think Speed Triple 1200 RS sits right between the Street Fighter V2 and V4 in all aspects - and it's a nimble and relatively comfortable bike which transforms into maniacal beast if you give it the beans!

    • @RodstersTVEN
      @RodstersTVEN  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there Jeevan! I think that the Speed Triple 1200 RS is indeed sitting between those two machines, and in a general way, it seems as hard to compare it to a Streetfighter V2 than a Streetfighter V4: in terms of pure power, it outweighs the V2 by far, being 30 HP more powerful, and much more torque, but it is also less impressive on the paper than the V4. For someone liking "full" engines with lots of torque on the low range, the Speed Triple is the way to go! It has also some nice features like cruise control, a fuel gauge, and it has a definitely more polished and finished look than both the Ducati. As money goes, I would go personnally for the Speed Triple !

    • @RodstersTVEN
      @RodstersTVEN  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello 3h0xr0!
      Didn’t have the opportunity to ride a Hypermotard, but as many of those bikes have a very upright position, I would say that the V2 should have a more sporty, bent-forward position.

    I ended up puechasing the V2. I agree thsy it left something ti be desired in torque but uts all in yhr tune. Ducati stunted the torque in 1-4 under 8k rpm. I hsd the bike tuned and a slip on snd it was a massive improvement in grunt through the mid range. Everyone comolsins about the small screen, i prefer it. I dont want a hige dash on my motorcycle. That seens kike an odd one. I rode the speed triple as well and the electronic sweet was so intrisive and poorly tuned. To the point i hsted riding it. The Street triple was a really nrilliant bike though. Whay it cane down to fkr me was the V2 hsd the handling and precision of the street triple with a ton more torque. But, agaun, tje V2 desperately needed tuned. And shes solid now.

    • @RodstersTVEN
      @RodstersTVEN  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! There isn’t much to compare besides saying that those are two standard motorcycles, the new Monster is a much more all-around kind of bike, while the Streetfighter V2 takes almost all of its genes from the small Panigale, thus being much more sporty and radical. If you are looking for a more extreme machine it is definitely the one to pick

    So how does it compare to 890 duke R? Is it worth the extra $$$? On paper it seems like the much cheaper KTM wins on brakes, tires, weight, and potentially the suspension. Seems like the V2 only starts making more power than the 890 after 8500 rpms or thereabouts, otherwise 890 has more power and torque earlier. Reviewers seem to say 890R is more fun on the road🤷‍♂️
    Base tuono v4 is $1k cheaper than sfv2, more power, wind protection, cruise control, fuel gauge.

    • @RodstersTVEN
      @RodstersTVEN  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there!
      For a lot of reasons, the KTM 890 Duke R is terribly convincing on paper, and also on the road: I had the opportunity to do this bike's review on the french channel, and it is one hell of a motorcycle. The Ducati may still feel more precise and stable with its frame, and has also a more premium "ducatish" finish to it. The Tuono V4 definitely can't be ignored, but the base model feels more GT than sporty to me, with its big windshield and passenger handle.
      Ride safe!

    • @volodymyrshoniia2424
      @volodymyrshoniia2424 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RodstersTVEN well, the biggest difference between factory and base tuono is the electronic suspension, other than that the base has a different subframe to accommodate a passenger and luggage (can attach luggage to factory if need be). The rest isn't hard to change or doesn't matter much (factory has a lower handlebar which gives better front end feel and a more sporty riding position but reduces comfort, shorter gearing due to a different rear sprocket which is more exciting but worse for long distance rides, smaller windscreen which looks nicer but is again not as good for long distance rides, seat is also more comfortable on the base).
      I used to have an 821 hyperstrada which was awful and lacked sporting credentials, replaced with a 690 SMC r.

    • @RodstersTVEN
      @RodstersTVEN  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there!
      I can confirm that under quite a high RPM value, the bike tends to have a delay in response, which is surprising coming from a two-cylinder engine.

  • @Scootir185
    @Scootir185 ปีที่แล้ว

    I owned both the V4S and the V2 and hands down the V2 is way more fun. The V4S was boring and anemic at road speeds and only really came alive when rev'd out and traveling at well over 100 mph. The V2 gives you lots of torque much lower in the rev range making it really fun at actual road speeds, and at 156 hp it can still easily hit speeds that will hurt you without a fairing to hide from the wind. As a street fighter, just a far, far better engine choice.

    • @RodstersTVEN
      @RodstersTVEN  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! Thanks so much for you input, I would tend to say that despite being a "high-rpm geared" twin-cylinder, I agree with you by saying that the Streetfighter V2 is certainly more "thrilling" than its big sister, which is really much more "hollow" in the low-RPM range!

    So..this makes me sad.. You realize this bike weighs more and makes less power that a 2011 1098 streetfighter right?...And it's being seen as somethin new..Wish they woulda stuffed to 1198 in one..

    • @RodstersTVEN
      @RodstersTVEN  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there enntense!
      In a way, you are right. It is true that the Streetfighter 1098, with its 167 kg and 155 Hp, had a much more favorable HP/KG ratio than the new streetfighter V2. But let's be honest, it had also much less technology, electronic aids, and feels much less modern. Still, it remains one hell of a ride, and probably a better alternative for a lot of riders!

      @@RodstersTVEN You know there's one thing I dont see much talk about. As a long time rider, 35 years, I still ride. The new machines I ride have fabulous electronics. However I have a hard time placing faith in them. • @RodstersTVEN

    The Streetfighter V2 definitely feels like a downsized V4: Less power, slightly less premium parts, but the same philosophy and some serious, sport capabilities!
