Shaman - tank: holds 2H weapon in one hand and has LITERAL Earth Shield - makes their own shield out of the elements
Ele is getting a shield imbue in TWW. I have a feeling they're adding one for the earth tank spec to make it rockbiter/earth imbue. I hope they do it right is all...
would be cool for an earth ascendance that makes you hulk out into the giant earth elemental models from dragonflight

The fact that druids have 4 specs should make this a very real possibility.
Shaman should have always had a tank option it was highly implied back in original classic that it was originally going to be possible and then they gutted most of the tank like talents as time went on and talent trees evolved. Considering there are 2 leather classes that can be tanks a class using mail makes a degree of sense.

I remember back in BFA, there were some rumors/leaks about huge Shaman specialization changes somewhere in 11.0 or 12.0, I remember clearly 2 points (many more was mentioned) it was about Ancestors doubling your spells and tank specialization
That reincarn talent would need an aoe taunt to it too
I love the thematics of this. It seems super unique from the other classes and sounds super fun to play, and several different ways to build how you might want to tank. Super cool man. I so want a tank shaman.
Definitely a fitting theme and archetype, but I’m not sure I’d Blizz can handle another Shaman spec to balance and give attention to lol
Season of discovery was the real beta for War Within. Can't wait for healer mage (not tank rogue tho)
Blizzard needs this video sent to them ASAP. I have no knowledge of game development or design, but I will learn to volunteer my time to this development team. I don't need paid, just this spec!
I have been asking for this on the furums for sometime now, and btw Thrall is an Earthwarder. He has the title as a shaman, maybe a hint to a future tank 2hander spec?
As a shaman main I'm really digging your ideas. Very creative.
This would work best with an entire class revamp, imo. They're trying to jam too much "every element" flavor into each spec which leads to something weird with frost being worked in to each of the damaging specs. Therefore each spec would have 3 elements they specialize in, with options in each tree to subspec a focus into 2 elements if the player chooses. The new layout would be -
Enh - Air (Storm), Earth, Fire (using Stormstrike (phys/nature) and Flamestrike (phys/fire) damage)
Resto - Air, Earth, Water (doesn't make sense that the resto spec has destruction (Fire) magic)
Ele - Air (Storm), Fire, Water (using Frostfire and Firestorm (Fire/Nature) damage)
Earth Warder - Earth, Fire, Water (Flamestrike and Frostfire damage)
I'm thinking about doing a revamp of my own that would actually put this fantasy into play. I just feel like the class has gotten stale recently and really needs a full rework.
Very well put together sir! I commend you for putting this out there. Really hoping blizzard takes a look at it and tries to incorporate it into the game. Only thing I would recommend changing is the earth elemental, I would say as a passive that it gets your health and armor but cannot be healed and only lasts 12 seconds, using rockbiter every 3 seconds. Meaningful cd but not too overbearing.
Would be cool if you could transform into an earth elemental. Movement is important and using a pet makes it tricky.
Do you think you'll be doing another tier list for DPS, Tank, and Healer with the closer we get to the release of War Within? As always, great content.

I like a lot of what you have here, and I really hope that the spec (if Shamans do get a tank spec) turns out really well.
That Reactivity talent (at 20:15 ) doesn't do anything, Lightning Shield already lasts 1 hour and doesn't have stacks. Also it's customized to each spec baseline. It generates Maelstrom for Ele and Maelstrom weapon for Enh, so for Earth Warder it would do the same thing, deal damage to enemies and has a chance to generate Maelstrom.
That aside, this looks cool!
@@OriginalMokthol True about the Lightning shield duration... However, for a tank Shaman, they would get way more value out of it because they are actually getting hit... So I could tweak the talent a bit, but its automatically way more powerful than the normal shields on the other specs.
@@ZucoWoW also, for earth shield. You would need it to either be another spell altogether or have resto lose earth shield. Cuz as it stands, earthshield from a restoshaman would replace the tanks one.
@@TheArmouryOfficial You can have multiple Earth Shields from different Shaman's on the same target... I don't think the Damage reduction stacks from 2 Resto Shaman's for example, but you can have more than 1 Earth Shield on 1 target.

All shaman mains want shaman tank. That has been my dream since forever.
If Shaman had a tank spec, its the only class I would play for a long time
I dont like the idea of the earth ele bit where it is taking you out of the fight for a few seconds. I think as a tank you should actively be tanking yourself all the time.
I played tank in wrath on my shaman until they killed it swapped to bear and been wanting it back ever since.

I like the idea of a shaman tank and in all honesty, I think they could do it without adding a single new ability. just change them slightly. like earthquake casts around you and gain DR when its active. stuff like that.

I’d love if this ends up happening as someone that’s a Shaman main and likes Tanking. I’d also like more offensive Air and Water based spells for Shaman in general (not just Ice). I a,ways thought it was weird that they got rid of the Fury of Air animation entirely. This also begs the question. If we end up getting a Tank Shaman in a future patch, doesn’t that mean we’ll also have another new Hero Talent tree?
You could take as a shaman in vanilla in lower content, and yea, also SoD. SoD also has warlock tanks, though, which seems less likely.
If we get a cheat death at the bottom of the tree every 10 mins I would take out the ankh talent for a aoe mass taunt, earth ele has always had issues holding aggro. I would also like to fit in a lightning lasso that grabs targets like a DK death grip. But what you made looks fun.
Just saying, having defensive capabilities tied to a specific spot on the ground is exactly the issue prot paladins have hated with consecrate. So the spec passive is a pretty huge miss unless you're also giving a totem bandolier to carry them around.
@@loopgru Well you would just get damage reduction for each active totem you control. The range doesn't matter at all... It doesn't matter where the totems are as long as they're active. :)
Blizz should have had a tank Shaman since day 1. Pallys have all three roles, give it to Shaman as well. The difference will be Pallys get melee DPS and Shams get ranged DPS.
We had our plates full having two cool dps specs. Not every comm hybrid should have all 3 roles.

Yes I Totaly like this, I have also build a tank spec and even a hero tree. But I have no idea how to make a video for it yet. But this is Totaly possible. Please give tank shaman!
This serves as a good base for inspiration.
Some of the talents are way too strong to be on a live game though. The ANKH talent would create degenerate gameplay by incentivizing unorthodox skips in dungeons - not to say that a tank cant already do that with a soulstone for example, but having a tank res itself after pulling the whole dungeon while the rest of the party shrouds for example is not good gameplay.
That bottom left talent looks like hell to balance for pvp, having a aura solar beam would enable so many one shot comps that it would never see the light of day. Just imagine a DK gripping everyone onto the shaman, they storm silence everything, followed by DK stun, into a full evoker BoF. It would just obliterate the other team.
For sure... I don't think the Ankh talent would actually be too bad... As you say, there's already tons of skips like this right now with tanks. Guardian Druids pull half a room and then Night Elf racial... Veng DH can just Fear an entire group of mobs and have everyone walk past...
As for the aoe silence effect, in PvP just limit the silence duration to 2-3 seconds, that wouldn't be too insane I don't think.
They would have to take away their ability to lust and they cant wear mail armor they can tank in either plate or leather. Blizzard has some contract or code thats agains making a tank class/spec that can wear mail and can lust.

@@6Churches it comes from the fact that no Tank is the game has lust or wears mail. That's why I knew without a shadow of a doubt when everyone was saying aug evoker was revealed it was going to be a tank. I was just sitting there going mmmmm a mail class and has lust...nope it's either another healer or dps and I was right. There is no cloth tanks and no mail tank and all the mail and cloth classes have a lust ability. I believe it has something to do with blizzard not wanting tanks to have all the responsibilities, tanks can brez but if tanks could brez and lust then there would be no need to bring lust classes. You could bring anyone if tanks covered everything. Idk what it is but there is plenty of classes that lust would make sense but they have tank specs. Like warrior for instance a lust shout would be amazing since war doesn't bring anything to the table other then bs, but nope they have a tank spec

This 1000% needs to be a thing. I would actually play shaman again. Tbth I gave up on shaman after Cata.

@@gohomehero lol... When Blizzard does spec or class reworks, it's not about how it looks, it's always about what it does. They focus on the gameplay, not the cosmetics. Maybe in a .5 patch in the future, we'll get cosmetic updates, but it's a bit silly to flame them for not updating the visuals in a "rework", that's never what the reworks are for.
@@gohomeheroto be fair. They said they are still gonna be updating shamans as the xpac goes on. So maybe updated ascendance forms and shaman tank are on the horizon 🤷♂️

Two things: Blizzard is not that creative, and will junk copy stuff from sod. Second, personally, I would of added a few ice spells as well.
Love videos like this, and wish we could get some cooler role additions to other classes as well. Calling back to TBC rogue -- would be cool to see a tank rogue (personally I think Outlaw would fit really well). Would also be really cool to see DH get a ranged DPS spec as well.
To be fair Zuco, DH still only has two specs, as much as id like to see a Shaman tank I'd wager if any class is going to get an additional specialisation, it'd be DH. I'd love to be proven wrong though 😉.
DH could easily get a ranged pet class. Ranged glaives, lazers, chaos and fire ... Broken servant in open world, Shivarra in raids, Naga in M+

Earth ele last for 1 min. Having it be a 1 min CD would be a little to much. Ele should then be reduced to like 15 sec or something. Cool idea tho!
