    Wrath is always gonna be my favorite. The game only clicked with me once I did my first run of Ulduar. Once that happened, I immediately understood why WoW was as popular as it was. There were some good raids after that but nothing ever came close to that feeling of doing Ulduar for the first time.

    The complaint in original wow wasn’t how easy raids were (they really weren’t THAT easy anyways like Classic) it was organizing and keeping a 40 man raiding guild together!

    TBC had all the engagement of vanilla but they actually straightened out the specs to be useful so pallies could actually tank and shaman could actually heal (my troll was dedicated resto). Definitely better gameplay than the wrath dungeon faceroll.

      Wrath heroic dungeons at launch were nearly as challenging TBC ones--only without all the attunement/keys stuff (Halls of Lightning, in particular was a good one for wipes). I think people consider this without fresh eyes. Because WotLK had 1 raid tier beyond what it originally was designed for, the stat bloat was more extreme than other expansions. By the end, players were far more powerful than other expansions. At the end of WotLK my rogue had over 90% armor penetration with about 30% crit (I don't recall what my haste was), and I wasn't heroic 25 ICC geared (10H/25N geared).

      @@shadowboy813 Yea people are always complaining about how easy Wotlk heroics were which is true, kind of because later they were nerfed insanely and gear which you can obtain was way better. Weaker dungeons and better gear made them trivial.

    I love this video. The only thing I'm a little confused on is the belief that DF is only going to have three raid tiers. As it's shaping up, it definitely seems like it's going to be four raids for this expansion.

    Have to agree with this list. Burning Crusade is my favorite expansion. You still have the leveling experience as vanillia for the most part. There was no stupid aoe pulls when Heroics first came out. You literally needed to frost trap, sheep, or sap 1 or 2 mobs every pull or get your cheeks clapped. Such a great expansion.

    One small correction. I noticed at 8:35 you mention that Cata added the best playable race, which I agree with, but then you ended up mispronouncing "Worgen."

    4.The Burning Crusade

    Loved the video and your take on the expansions! For my personal top 3 would be slightly different. 1. Wrath 2. BC 3. Legion. I started playing in Vanilla but didn't hit max level until BC and even then I was just a silly kid that had no clue what was going on and just went in raids, not knowing anything and just loved the lore. It was Wrath when I really fell in love with wow trying to be the top on the logs every week. One of my fav moments was pre-patch for Wrath is was so much fun. The Scourge Infestation was all I could think about at school. Anyways, great video again!

    Totally agree with most on your list. Shadowlands, WOD, Cataclysm got destroyed because they got thrown under the buss by blizzard. After launch they literally scrapped the expansions. DMG control was all over the place but 90% people gave up wow after 1 raid tier in all three of those expansions . WOD still has best questing in wow, cant take that away from the devs.

    I enjoy classic classic, group content was meaningful. You are more attached to your character. Most rep farms are straightforward go farm them, unlike current “farm world events every two hours that all compete with each other so you can’t do multiple reps at once.” Gear matters, some of the best items while leveling are obtain in your 40s. TBC was okay but attubements for alts was a pain. Wrath is more similar to retail than people want to admit it’s already pretty much raidlogging.

    Hey, I just wanted to say I really like your channel and think it has a nice charm to it! I'd say the people getting angry over literal harmless opinions about a video game are just par for the course in WoW at this point--say anything about the game and someone always gets pissy.
    Personally I would've ranked TBC lower and MoP higher, but that's just because I'm a zoomer who wasn't around for TBC and also doesn't play Classic, so the only experience I really have of it is questing through Outland before the level squish which SUCKED to me. MoP would've been higher for me because I think the zones are absolutely gorgeous and the Wandering Isle is my 2nd favorite starting zone, and I also played as a little kid during MoP so it has added nostalgia factor for me.
    Love your videos! And zug zug.

    MoP was my Fav, the button bloat was nice and juicy. Cata had that INSANE difficulty curve going into the season 0 5MANHEROICS and it never chilled out. We all know about Wrath and BC. Warlords (lol frost ammo go burr) was a fever dream; if you played, Horde or Alliance, then somewhere in that expansion you shed a man-tear don't deny it. Legion brought back our fav characters... and then canceled our fav characters. BFA (Wakanda forever?) lowkey was a good time from horde perspective, if you knew how to get the content. Shadowlands and Dragonlands are cool!

    As someone who did Wrath when it was current content, you were not missing much, it started fine but it got for lack of a better term "toxic" with the gear score system. If I were to rank the expansions, and just the expansions it would be, TBC>Wrath>Legion>Cata>MoP>BFA>Shadowlands I can't rank Dragonflight because the expansion isn't over, but I am giving it a tentative score above Cataclysm.

    I've only played in wrath and legion and for me it's all the way wrath.
    Legion was this one main, one spec artifact grindfest, the pathfinder achievements I still hate to this day in any exp (I mean what's the point of flight once you've finished all storylines, explored everything, got the collectible chores done, did all the reps and WQ grinds etc...).
    In wrath all you had to do was get to lvl 78 and dump 1k into flight. Dungeons were also much better, I still don't like this M+ grindfest. In wrath you just did your daily random heroic for your token, raided once a week and that's it, you could do anything afterwards, like finish up old content achievements.
    However, account-wide achievements and mount/toy/pet collections in retail are awesome.

    TBC will always be my favorite expansion, i just hated blizzard for rushing tbc classic, it felt short lived. During tbc classic, i grinded out the attunements on 5 different toons to get to ssc raids, it made me learn how to play the class in herioc dungeons and made me a jack of all trades when my guild needed dps, tank, or heals. Then blizzard removed attunements in later patches and forced us to play with complete idiots xD. The hype for wrath classic killed TBC. I played wrath classic for like 2 months and got quit, just didnt feel the same.

    LEGION MADE ME TO RETIRE FROM WOW FOREVER.
    Legion wasn't expansion for everyone, i get that many of you liked this expansion but for me it had so many problems and issues which led me and many other people to not playing this expansion. My first issue was absurd cooldowns on artefact knowledge reseraches, so many times i couldn't play coz i needed to wait for something. Artefact itself was for me biggest issue about Legion, yea it looked good for most of classes and specs and give you another talents. however it was basically a leveling after a leveling which i think was stupid idea. Also without farmed Artefact power you coudlnt do anything and you are pretty much forced to do stupid dialy quests or grind. Another big problem for me was just concept of being locked on single character and single spec for entire expansion, because in order to have off spec or alt for endgame you needed to stupid Broken Shore, Suramar, rep grinds just everything again just to get power for your artefact and unlock all it's traits. Those huge nerfs in thirds or mid way of the expansion only amplified this problem, Also this was the exact reason why i retired from WoW, because i was so pissed when invested hundreads of hours into farming all the crap for my artefact, then Blizzard came with huge nerf which made my character pretty much unplayable for endgame PVP/PVE. Last but not least was PVP system where instead of buying items from vendor, it was strictly based on Random Drop, i always liked when i get from chest 2 times in a row stupid Stamina trinket for my Shadow Priest, meanwhile my friend got twice two prebis items what he needed.
    Overall, i haven't seen expansion where repetetive and unwanted grinds are it's only content, where game is pretty much hostile to players which want play alts or offspec, PVP system which they introduced in this expansion was also big step backwards, and absurdly high rng factor affecting your gameplay.

    As someone who has only dabbled in raiding and M+ (and mostly disliked), my experience is mostly based on running around open world. Also I spend a lot of time doing transmog farms so the armor sets influence my choice a lot. Going to rank the ones I didn't play at the bottom, by necessity, because I don't have enough context to make a decision.
    10. Warlords of Draenor - I skipped this entirely, only going back to farm the old raids.
    9. TBC - I didn't play it, outside of leveling a character through there when I started in Wrath.
    8. Vanilla - similar to the above, but I spent a lot more time leveling through here.
    7. Shadowlands - I started playing at the end, so most of the problems had been "fixed" when I got there. But the leveling zones were fun and I really liked Zereth Mortis.
    6. Dragonflight - if I hadn't made the mistake of getting back into raiding with the xpac, I probably wouldn't have quit in 10.1; I'm not planning to come back until War Within.
    5. Wrath - this is where I started, so I have fond memories, but I didn't experience too much of "the good stuff" that other people rank it so high.
    4. Cataclysm - as a leveling junkie, I loved the redesigned zones, had so much fun here.
    3. Mist of Pandaria - this is the first time I raided seriously, and I actually enjoyed it more here than I did any other time of my career.
    2. BFA - there may have been a lot of problems with the xpac as a whole, but I had a lot of fun. It may have to do with how busted DH was...Drustvar and all the Horde zones were amazing.
    1. Legion - the absolute best xpac IMO. The storyline, the artifact weapons, loved all of it.

    Those earlier expacs had a major flaw that I just couldn't get past: those immensely long content voids in their 2nd halves. MOP was such a fun expansion, but more than half of its duration was fucking patch 5.4 with literally nothing added for 14 months straight. So the expansion was basically divided into year 1 where everything fun happened (releases of all 3 raid tiers, brawler's guild, isle of giants, timeless isle - this ALL happened in year 1 of MOP) and then year 2 where NOTHING happens. You play the same thing for a full hecking year. So if you missed out and joined in late 2013 or later, you just ran Siege of Orgrimmar. That's it. Oh, and all your gear drops at 0/4 upgrade level. And it takes 1000 valor to get it to 4/4. And your weekly valor cap is 1000. Which means that you're 5 months behind even if you get your full bis in one raid run. Yikes. Talk about barriers to entry and being hostile to newcomers.
    Modern expacs at least try to innovate and throw something in there before next expac launches. Even expansions as bad as Shadowlands had a Season 4 which was objectively good and fun to play.

    I don't really agree about the 40-man raids. I think a big issue is just to GET 40 people to do something coordinated. Even in 25-man raids I often feel like the biggest challenge is getting 25 people on the same page, rather than any actual mechanics.

    I don't completely get all the hate for Shadowlands. It wasn't the best by any means but I don't think it was the worst either; Torghast was fun and the Covenants were pretty cool. The travel was a pain the ass though I'll admit. My rankings of the expansions:
    10. Cataclysm (Hated the revamp of the old world; hated the water zone; hated the under ground cave zone; only good new zone was Hyjal and the FIrelands mini zone. But I will also have to admit I was playing the game on a potato so that probably colors my feelings a lot)

    6. WoD
    5. BC
    4. Legion
    3. Classic
    2. Wrath (this is when I started too and I loved every minute of it)

    1. WOTLK
    2. MoP is slightly below WotlK (it's highly praised expansion)
    3. TBC - it introduced (Arena & Flying) also (Belfs and Draenei) KARAZHAN 2nd best raid in WoW.
    4. LEGION - overall good expansion could've been better IMO.
    - Me personaly I adore Vanilla for it's leveling and sheer immersion. I think it's much beter than the players give it credit for!!

  • @goblinounours

    Yeah, gotta agree on Legion being better than Dragonflight, but Dragonflight still being better than... well... a lot of other expansions like Cataclysm, Mists of Pandaria, Battle for Azeroth and Shadowlands.
    From a story-perspective, DF missed the mark for me, from start to finish. I could write an essay on all the dumb/cringy things that happened in the expansion, the things that don't feel like Warcraft but instead feel like Blizzard trying to show that they're not the same company that got hit with allegations in 2021.
    I would still put Warlords of Draenor above Cataclysm. Like, sure, the Garrisons were too much and the feeling of having nothing to do was real, plus the long wait at the end of 6.2... but the story, the feels, the ambience, that was fantastic.

  • @Gekk0e
    @Gekk0e 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    IMO: 1. Classic 2. Legion 3. Cataclysm
    But I'm not sure if my view of cataclysm just has to do with it being the golden age of WoW content or if its because of the zone reworks making leveling fun again
    Cataclysm kinda came out at the perfect time for the dawn of the new internet, Twitch and TH-cam both had just been created, and content creators were exploring new content types before they eventually settled into their algorithm slave lifestyles
    I used to think WotLK was one of the best expansions, but it died for me thanks to WotLK classic adding H+, gold inflation + GDKPS + bots, the dead leveling process thanks to no RDF, gearscore(but this ties into H+), and mono faction/dead servers(but this started in BC)
    BC for me is another one that I have to view through the lense of classic as I only started at the end of the last tier and never made it to 70, but doing that allowed me to see that BC was the end of the "classic" experience, the old 1-60 world was dead and gone because everyone was funneled into the 60-70 content to raidlog, people dont level alts unless they're extremely new players who have 0 gold to boost themselves with, rep grinding is boring when you have no friends to sit in discord to keep your brain occupied, attunements suck after doing them on the 3rd character, this was the start of mono-faction servers which took the joy out of the open world and created situations where your level 60 characters that you raided with in vanilla ended up being unplayable unless you paid for a server change
    I'm unsure how cataclysm classic if it ever becomes a thing will change my outlook in the expansion, but I hope that if it ever does come out we'll see Blizzard just merge servers or start crossrealm activities

    Seeing TBC next to WOTLK is quite the experience. In many ways, TBC is an alt-unfriendly expansion packed full of things and rewards locked behind reputation grinds. However, as a result, it create a situation where you actually have mains and the cosmetics such as the netherdrakes or tabards came from a place of serious individual effort. WOTLK in many ways is more the raid log expansion, and enemies are far too weak. There's more utility in mounts for WOTLK than in the appearance of them (dragons and mammoths), and the tabards are there for rep gains not the other way around. BG mounts and tabards are basically free, and anything truly interesting aside from a couple titles here and there are locked behind raid content. A lot of players don't look unique outside of their mounts if they had rare ones and now with mounts being account wide even rare mounts are common.
    Now I know there are people who don't care about any of that stuff, and just want to play the game over and over as different classes, in which case WOTLK does far more for accessibility, but aside from raid wide buffs, WOTLK seems more boring than TBC for a DPS as there's really not much to do other than your rotation and moving. ICC was the first raid that reminded me of TBC raids, and the hardest part of WOTLK was getting a roster of semi-competent players. I also found the gear ladder to be more horizontal than in TBC. Maybe that's a function of the Classic changes, but no one is running older raids at all, whereas in TBC I was able to find raids between SSC-Sunwell on a semi regular basis.
    It might just be WOTLKC mixed with Notalgia but I think TBC was a better expansion than WOTLKC. All those people claiming that WOTLK was the beginning of retail are more correct than I gave them credit for.

    I started late cata just before MoP. For me the ranking (from best to worst): Cata~MoP>Legion>WoD>SL>BfA. I hated BfA with all my heart. I have to add, I quit just before DF as I burned out with SL. When I heard about DF and saw the theme, I didn’t found it appealing for the same reasons you mentioned: It doesn’t feel like Warcraft!

    Burning Crusade is unmatched, and it seems unlikely that it ever will be. To me it's almost not an expansion because it follows Vanilla in the best way possible. You enter a new world with new content, large open areas, badass lore, raids were amazing with iconic bosses from Warcraft 3, pvp exploded with the introduction of arenas and so on.. Also i feel like BC is the only expansion where everything goes smoothly and have a logical sequence compared to the previous version of the game and yet you have this feeling of discovering something new. TLK is a bit like that too but not as much as BC

  • @shadowboy813
    @shadowboy813 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    My Ranking:
    10/9: SL/DF: Nothing memorable, mainly because I didn't play it. It bored me to the point of unsubscribing even before I was fully heroic geared. One month in. For both.
    8: Vanilla: I'm not ranking this low because it's bad. Mostly because I never played it. I did level originally during TBC (started playing in 2008, to the extent that I level capped during the WotLK pre-patch). Never got into it with classic. The gameplay refinements of later expansions highlighted just how clunky some of vanilla truly is. It's VERY clunky and unrefined. To say otherwise is someone just lying to themselves. It did, however, offer a lot of fun with exploring the zones and exploring how to play your character (I am addressing this based on leveling through TBC since the leveling experience is fairly similar).
    7: WoD: I actually played this full expansion without any lapse of subscription. It's appeal to me waned as the expansion went on. The end game was nonexistent. Probably some difficult personal life stuff tainted my view of it, but perhaps not as it is universally reproached--I started burning out on raiding at around BRF. HFC didn't really capture me.
    6: BfA: I played nearly the entire expansion and actually raided regularly for the first two tiers. I had some fun but it was the beginning of my dissociation with the game. This is in greatest part because a very close friend of mine--who happened to be the GM of the guild I was in--passed away a few days after the expansion launched. Starting over was just not something I was interested in, so after a couple tiers of attempting, I gave up and went super casual.
    5: Legion: I took a break from raiding for this expansion (due to the above mentioned burnout), but still played regularly and did dungeons and other non-raiding content with guildies, while also doing old-raid runs with them (for achievements and such). I rejoined the raid team at the end of the expansion, a month or so before the BfA pre-patch. It was fun that was cut short due to what I mentioned above.
    4: TBC: I rank this here for similar reasons to Vanilla, but I level capped and did some heroic dungeons at-level so I got to experience some of the end game fun. But this was during the WotLK pre-patch, so it wasn't entirely an authentic version of the experience. I'm absolutely certain this would be top 3 if I spent more time in it. TBC classic follows similar arguments to classic for me.
    3: Cataclysm: I thought this expansion was far better than the rep it gets. I had a lot of fun during it, the raids were fantastic (Firelands in particular). Plus I main a rogue so it was my first time ever wielding a legendary weapon at level, with current content. The rogue questline was amazingly done and the class-specific challenges made that questline so epic. This was the first expansion were the storytelling became more cohesive with each zone having an integrated storyline.
    2: MoP: This is peak WoW for me. This was the culmination of the refinements of all prior expansions, but without all the feature creep and progression bloat that tainted Legion and later for me. I'd like to have seen scenarios developed more. Those were very fun.
    1: WotLK: NGL, this is rose-colored-glasses stuff for me. This is the first expansion where I truly experienced end game. It's also the expansion where I joined the guild mentioned in the BfA section. It's where I met the GM friend of mine that resulted in a 9-year long friendship with an untimely end. I miss him.

    10. Shadowlands
    9. BFA ( i feel like these first two are safe)
    8.WoD
    7.Dragonflight( This is only here because i dont want to rate it good or bad till the expansion is over)
    6. WotLK ( boo me all you want outside of grizzy hills every zone feels the same to me and at this point The hype of fighting arthas died down for me. Classic Wotlk mostly puts it here)
    5. MoP ( i like the raids and say what you want but kung fu panda is a goated trilogy)
    4.Vaniliia ( I only got to play classic wow and yes some things are fun but half the specs not being playable kind of a problem . Although Hardcore is so fucking fun)
    3.Burning crusade( again classic is my only taste of it attunement quest were fun till you help your 6th guild group with it)
    2.Cata ( I like Azeroth with flying, I liked the pvp, i liked the raids... till dragon soul but the dungeons the dungeons were some of the best in wow imo ZA, ZG etc. Specs felt good at level 10)
    1. Legion (this is where i went full into raiding yes the grind was dumb so i didnt really grind it out the legendry system also wasnt that good but the friends i made at this time priceless to me . Honestly if legion started with the currency system they had to buy legendaries, I think everyone would have this top 3)

    I’ve been consuming this franchise since I was a little kid, growing up living in Azeroth basicaly, and specially becoming a Lore dude and loving Metzen storytelling and worldbuilding (sorry if I’m going too much on the texting 😅).
    1 - The Burning Crusade: For me, TBC is the GOAT and not only because of the nostalgia. Aside from Hyjal raid, and some choices about balance, pretty much everything in this expansion works really well to this day. A lot of the controversies around the Lore is solved by TONS of context and extra perspectives in the questlines, and there’s a lot of well done retcons helping to flesh out the story more and characterize both the setting and the threats. The best ending of all the expansions belongs to TBC too, Sumwell Plateau was SICK!! And Outland is simply iconic and shouldn’t be abandoned after this, being very honest;
    2 - Mists of Pandaria: Might be a hot take, but the story of MoP (both in Pandaria and outside of it) was amazing. The amount of things going on in this expansion is exquisite. Sure, removing the talent tree was a bad move, and Thunderforge (and its subsequent variations afterwards) only made the game worse. But the Lore really compensates. Honestly, the war plot was so good that I didn’t want it to end, they should cook this major conflict more (specially when it comes to the unsolved Jaina crimes in Dalaran with the Silver Covenant), and NEVER killed Garrosh in the lamest way possible in the expansion after, but anyway;
    3 - Wrath of the Lich King: There’s a lot to love in WotLK. I really appreciate the consistent theme and tone of dread and tense anticipation throughout the expansion (except 3.2, that was clearly a filler). I’m just not a big fan of the final patch, and over the years I can see why 3.3 didn’t landed well for me (the amount of cut content regarding the nerubian reign and Mal’Ganis inclusion in the ending was unnecessary, probably was already Activision’s fingers on WoW, idk);
    4 - Cataclysm: I have to say, back in the day I hated this expansion. But overtime, it really grew on me. Sure, the plot is an unfocused mess (although very coherent lorewise, if you read Chronicle 3), and some of the dungeons and raids just wasn’t good, the class design and philosophy changed here for the worst (and the devs never figured out how to properly solve it, even today). But, coming back, it has its moments. There are some really good questlines too, the world reshaping wasn’t that bad, and the new races added were nice additions;
    5 - Dragonflight: Honestly, after MoP I’ve been so disappointed with how Blizzard handled WoW that I settled the bar very low, but DF is not bad at all. Yeah, the plot is not interesting, it’s the same storytelling that we’ve been seeing for almost a decade and Steve Danuser was a terrible substitute for Metzen (let’s see if his returning will bring the magic back, at least). The returning of the talent tree is awesome (although it shouldn’t be removed in the first place), and dragonriding is pretty good. Also, discontinuing the Thunderforge trend is so good, man. I can finally appreciate the loot and not thinking that my farming profession is useless;
    6 - Warlords of Draenor: Yeah, this expansion has a lot of problems, but I can’t deny that I had a lot of fun. The raids were really badass (even HFC), the leveling experience was superb, and Draenor itself is beautiful to death. The dark sidebar this expansion lies on the whole development process, and the gigantic amount of content that was cut off, and we will probably never know what the hell happened. Even in its worst moments, I can’t even get mad at this expansion, there was so much blurred stuff happening behind the scenes and the circumstances made the situation itself very much unfortunate, to be honest;
    7 - Battle for Azeroth: It was overwhelming and lackluster at the same time. The idea itself is incredibly flawed, coming back to fight each other after the Burning Legion just straight up don’t make any sense. Even wanting to see Kul Tiras and Zandalar so badly, the execution of putting them in the game just wasn’t good. And Nazjatar too, omg, I couldn’t care less. N’Zoth and Ny’alotha was so bad that a just quit the game for the first time;
    8 - Shadowlands: That being said, I’m might be cheating here, but I mostly skipped SL. And even when I got to play it, I got so cynical and kinda anesthetic with the amount of bullshit that was going on (specially during the period between the announcement and the release, the astronomical amount of feedback being sent into oblivion), that I just went bland. Maybe the soundtrack was standout, specifically Bastion, but whatever. The best quality I can say about this expansion is that I was indifferent enough to care and say it sucked;
    9 - Legion: Probably my biggest hot take, but I cannot lie... Legion, for me, was the expansion that BROKE WoW, and they never really recovered from that. It has only one saving grace, that is Suramar, and even that is surrounded by utter chaos of an expansion. You can see that Metzen was already out of the writing, because the Lore just died here. Chronicle (and everything before it) got 100% retconned in Legion for no reason whatsoever, just to have this unfocused fuck-fest. Gosh, the very NAME is a false advertisement, I can talk a whole day about how we spent WAY more time fighting literally everything but the Legion itself. The gameplay too, ugh, the legendaries, the class design (being uniformed as hell), the borrowed power feature burned by the artifact weapons, even the garrison rip off that were the class halls... they crossed a line here, and if they want to actually fix the game they should start by deleting Legion (IMO), it’s 100% non-canon for me. And looking back, I can’t even tell a clear difference between Legion, BfA and SL, for me they’re basically the exact same expansion just changing the skin. Steve Danuser’s writing is so out of hand, and out of touch, damaging the Lore, the continuity, the characters, for... whatever the hell the plot he wanted to tell, just pissed me off.
    Sorry about this second Bible. 😅

      I did timewalking levelling in Legion and 1 manned some of the raids and I would agree with you that Legion felt very blah unless you really liked fighting the burning legion. Suramar was the only part that was interesting from the levelling experience and Highmountain being okay but that's it. Unlike WOD which actually was really fun to level through in timewalking much to my surprise. It's interesting that there's so much love for Legion considering it seemed mid at best.

      @@theoutlander1411 Legion was very promising, back in the day. Like, a full Burning Legion themed expansion was a certainty, and it was announced in the time when Chronicle vol. 1 was being made and that book, specifically, established a lot of stuff to be further developed in the expansion. However, you, as the player character, had spent way more time fighting the Legion in TBC than its own expansion, and that’s saying something. The amount of small problems, combining with a lot of big ones (like horrible design choices), really wounds the experience.

    Zug zug. I like your videos and your laid back approach narratively, but the only criticism I had was saying Dragonflight was "girly." I think I understand what you intended, but saying it like that leaves a little bad taste in the mouth, you know?
    I don't really know or pay attention to the story this expansion, but based on the footage you chose to show, it seems you like the more in-your-face danger and action as opposed to the background danger and political mechanations? Again, I don't know the story really, but it doesn't seem like anything is as much of a threat as that found in TBC or Wrath. And this may end up be why Shadowlands and BFA were so low too - there isn't any "danger" in the foreground that makes you want to punch the bad guy in the nose.
    For me, why Vanilla and TBC are great is because of the variety of threats. In Vanilla, you had multiple end-game areas with different threats. Zombies, Insectoids, Orcs/Dwarves/Elementals. In TBC, you had your choice of Demons, Blood Elves/Nagas, Demon Orcs and Nether Dragons. Later expansions focused on one overall enemy, and often Blizzard likes to do a rug pull. For example, BFA had the other faction as your enemy, only to have then a Mechagnome area, which was just... there. And then Naga, before an Old God. Sure, you can make a reason why they're connected, but it isn't easy to do so. And once you finished one, the other threats aren't really threats anymore.

    I've only played pandaria and legion onwards. as someone who loves M+ (practically plays just for M+), BFA is top favourite, followed by legion, shadowlands and dragionflight. shadowlands had great story but very irritating with the transportation, boring world quests and some fundamental class changes (like arcane missles not being a proc spell and removing shimmer talent) . the only reason I dislike dragonflight more is because of how the talent selection changed, way too complex now. but yeah dragon riding makes much much better even with a boring story.

And to have BwD, TotFW and BoT was mamazing, 3 raids in one tier so if youwhere stuck on one boss just go to next raid. Also there is to much negativity towards the end with Dragon Soul that people forget how amazing the start and middle was.
