People keep complaining about this cinematic but I think it is most similar to the vanilla cinematic where they are showcasing all the races and the locations and it gets you hype. Not everything has to be a huge CGI fight with main characters
I think the fact that 90% of the comments are about how disappointing it is makes sense. Honestly, it looks like raid shadow legends generic stuff. We all know it's probably a little cooler than that. We're here watching pyro. I think this trailer failed though. Its not exciting. It could have been a cinematic of xalatath doing something cool thousands of years ago. Anything. Anything at all. We got a bunch of people literally standing around looking directly into the camera. It seemed a bit lazy in my opinion.
@Pyromancer - no one is talking about two important things from this trailer: 1. Music is just variation of theme „Times change” from WoD 2. We see more and more „soul orbs” from Xal - same but different in nature, that we’ve seen at Kael’thas
I feel like the dancing character is the missing link between trolls and elves, considering we're going to be "reuniting the different elf clans" in Midnight.
@@Pyromancer 5 fingers and 3 toes. That doesn't match with old Nerubian models or trolls, even the close shot one has 3 fingers. That said it does match with the newer Nerubians, which is a form that Xal'atath helped then achieve, so that's unlikely? Doesn't have the hunched look of a troll either (Zandalari trolls yes and as they're the older they might have to take precedence) so this might be irrelevant, the heel exoskeleton speaks for Trolls and Ill toss in the hair as well. So cool thing about the purple tentacle that shows up with the spider lady, if you look at the shape, it’s the exact same shape as Xal’atath when she was still just a dagger
Most interesting part to me is when you pause at times like 11:07 whatever magic it is is disconnected, it really looks like miniscule spores forming together to create a fused together look. But you can really see at times like that the tiny bits arent even fused together. It's like she's conducting communing with the individual spores to make them one through her vessel.
I have a theory that this is how we get the "all races druids". Connect to the spirit/nature energy of the planet itself without the aid of cenarius and the like.
These druids have to be the ones talked about in the "Legend of Elun'Ahir" story. Knowing that they are directly tied to Freya < Eonar + Elune, I think it's safe to say it's a mix of cosmic + nature. Since their "duty" was to guard the "roots" of the old world tree Elun'Ahir, maybe you're right in saying it's a nature base. I can't wait to see them develop, and hopefully shine more light on Elune and Eonar's relationship.
a Druid speaks to Nature more than the stars and moon, that much is more a religion for them, and by nature they seem to communicate with the roots of the Great Tree that Eonar planted, yet Amon'thul removed.
They're like a troll to elf evolution hybrid with quilboar? I swear I remember seeing a thing showing tauren and quilboar had some ancestry. Could've just been speculation or retconned, though.😂

I love watching Pyro's reactions, but some of his theories do feel like he has an idea and then morphs anything he can into proof of that. I guarantee him searching for the Nerubian picture and not seeing any evidence of a claw/toe on the heel of their feet didn't have any effect on his theory that Trolls evolved from Nerubians. For me, it seems that this race is the 'link' between Trolls and Night Elves. They look quite Elven, but have a more primal nature, and have features of the trolls, like the toe on the heel and (albeit smaller) tusks. It would make more sense that the size of the tusks would trend in a direction (Trolls big tusks > this race small tusks > elves no tusks) rather than this race being first, having smaller tusks, which grow large with the first directly descended race, and then disappear with the next.

Oh sneaky sneaky blizzard…they are making a mallet out of Elementium in black smithing this is called a dead blow hammer. Elementium is known for its unique properties, such as being nearly indestructible and capable of channeling elemental forces. Crafting a mallet from Elementium would allow it to absorb the impact while channeling the force needed to dislodge the Sword of Sargeras, and in addition spells like earth shield and ice barrier could be used to absorb impact while sending the force of the mallet. Still details of who would use this hammer could be up in the air but if we freed Sargeras he would have the power to wield such a hammer.
human facial hair has the same strength as copper wire of the same thickness, its why razors dull its the same as using them to shave the ends of copper strands.
Going back to 5:20; I feel like a lot of people forget that two botani survivors come to Azeroth WITH the Mag'har back in BFA. Like, if you do the allied race questline, you literally see them BOLT down to the south into the Barrens, never to be seen again. I feel like that'd also explain the Genesaur, while also fixing the plot-hole raised by the world never changing from the sudden invasive species (Botani). Instead of growing and spreading on the surface, maybe they dug down below so they could grow their forces/build a long-lasting foothold on Azeroth, itself. They've been gone for years, canonically I think it's been seven, maybe eight since the end of BFA. That's enough time to make a Genesaur, I'd imagine. Spooky, if true! Just a personal thought.
I would loathe if they changed the origins of trolls any further because one of the big reasons I loved their history back when I got into the lore during TBC was that they seemed to be one of the absolute first of the native races to Azeroth, of the ones that evolved naturally (and weren't earthen or came from off planet). This gave a sense of history, of deepseated roots in the setting and it's what used to make a big part of the Troll fantasy when playing one - having that connection to Azeroth. This is a big part of why all the lore since Legion has been steadily pushing me away until Shadowlands came and made unmendable rifts in the very foundational fabrics of the world building and lore.
Old god VS Sporemound sounds like an epic Kaiju battle. Pacific rim style. I want to see it. I want to see a gigantic f,uck off plant monster beat the shit out of a C'thulu monster.
I really think that thing is a part of Y'Shaarj and that Nerubian is trying to bring him back to life. Maybe Xal wants to consume Y'Shaarj and become a void lord that way. That tribal Troll mouth reminds me of Orc face features. It feels like a voodoo priest.
27:19 could this indicate that she can see things happening sooner than they do? as if she has foresight? or to tell the audience that while you are trying to come up with a plan to fight, she already knows what it exactly is. therefore, you are playing her game an doing what she wants.
They hadn't announced the release date...and then after they did, I lost my %$(*. It's coming out while I'm on vacation, in the same week as my birthday...along with Tactical Breach Wizards I'm eating GOOD that week.
Look at the "Carved" section of the tentacle, very closely Pyro, just the flayed section, then overlay the dagger of Xal, even the center core of Xal has an outline in the section of the tentacle. The flaring at the base matches the blade section. I think the Narubians helped to create the blade, and we may unlock that by questing through the storyline. Since playing from Day 1 of WoW, I learned that they never reveal "all" the story in Beta or PTRs..
Bro that half-elf is a Crusader. Its gonna be different than paladins because their half infused with light, the way they were trying to get Illidan. And that Elf/Troll is gonna be a which doctor. Diablo's universe has crashed into our! Oh mmmmyyyyyy!
I'm glad that I can watch your and Phillip's reaction to this actually appreciating the trailer instead of shitting on it because it isn't big boom boom battle explosions shit.
I have a feeling the other two races in this cinematic will be an allied race. the arathi’s to the alliance, that troll race to the horde. And obviously we get earthen at launch for both factions.
trolls evolving from nerubians could be a thing. I remember a plot back in Legion where the Elves in Suramar (was it Falanaar specificly?) messed around with magic and got turned into Nerubians. So maybe that spell did not transform them into something new, but DEVOLVED them into the original form of their race?
Another option for the glowing eye is that maybe the light is unable to see what is going on underground and the light eye is someone from the light using Faerin to see what is going on there
Anyone else think the flayed tentacle hung up for it's alchemical blood looks a lot like the wall that contained G'huun, in the raid encounter, at the base? Odd
Is it possible that the old gods were actually some type of life gods that the void corrupted? Which is why the titans couldnt actually kill them, because they actually were a part of ghe whole of azeroth. And the curse of flesh is actually the gift of life?
did anyone not see the eye open on the torn limb next to the mixing pot next to the nerubian, just saying when the light was beginning to glow the eye started to open >.> ?????
I'm stoked to see you still enjoying WoW lore! I was afraid you had abandoned it again, but still going strong, apparently! Happy for you, Pyro^^ - Adûnâi
i'm more than excited for TWW, i am elated, i will be enjoying my siesta through Pre-Patch until the 19th of next month, when i log back in to prepare. i'll be among the early access crowd, hoping to farm enough gold selling mats and doing professions to keep me online during the length of the expansion.
I think there's 100% a connection between the mushrooms on the tree at 11:10 and the mushrooms from ardenweld they hinted that they had been there looooong before the winter queen even showed up
@Pyromancer what do you think about the idea that we will soon go to real Prison of C'thun and Tample of Ahn'Qiraj was only a place of worship, as Ahn'Qiraj is severly lacking with titan statues and magial chains.
I really thing the theory of Xal'atath being a Void Lord has some real roots: 1) Xal'atath is driven by insane hunger for Azeroth worldsoul, which you can clearly hear from The War Within: Echoes of Azeroth cinematic. From Chronicle -Volume 1: 🔶 The void lords are monstrous entities composed of pure shadow energy. These beings are cruel and merciless beyond mortal comprehension. Driven by an insatiable HUNGER, the void lords seek to devour all matter and energy in the physical universe. In their natural state, the void lords exist outside reality. Only THE MOST POWERFUL of these entities can manifest in the physical universe, and only for limited amounts of time. To maintain their presence in reality, the void lords must consume untold amounts of matter and energy. 🔷 This can lead to a point that Xal'atath is really one of the most powerful Void Lords, that got into physical world, and to maintain in this world she needs insane energy = worldsoul. 2) Or she has a simple plan that's written also in Chronicle - Volume 1: Corrupting a nascent titan, it would awaken as an unspeakably dark creature. No power in creation, not even the Pantheon, could stand against it. In time, the warped titan would consume all matter and energy in the universe, bringing every mote of existence under the void lords’ will. .... Which can also lead in some point to 1) ... Between 1) and 2) there is connection: 3) Xal'atath is Void Lord wants to corrupt worldsoul, because every other Void creature failed to do so, she went into a physical world so she will do it herself. Corrupting worldsould means awakened dark creature that can consume all matter and energy in the universe which is referred in both paragraphs in Chronicle - Volume 1 (Page 19 & 24).
Also why would she say "The Worldsoul, so long denied me, shall be mine", how could wouldsoul denied her for so long, when she got into a physical world recently (during end of bfa), before then she was only "whispers" in a dagger, had no influence for a worldsoul.... she had to be denied thru Old Gods - thru power of the Void itself, since Old Gods were on Azeroth to corrupt worldsoul, yet they failed. Theory about her getting into physical world, to do it herself as a Void Lord, would make some sense. Also when she got into Priests hands, then let us thru actions in BfA. She knew she needed energy to ascend into a physical world > told us about naga plan > let us to find relics > then she jumped into Inanis body > needed more energy > brought us to Nzoth with other relics > ascended into physical world.
Or the spores are like ergot, it's doing things to her mind and body and there's a connection because of the spores. Ergot poisoning can be very hallucinogenic (and deadly, all sorts of warnings on use for recreation). I liken this one to the poisoned grain in Stratholm, although that poison actually changed the body as it ravaged the mind when it turned the people into the scourge. There's a component of Voodoo (and frankly some of the earth deity religions) that use some sort of hallucinogen in their rituals. Also, there's a component in black mold that creates psychosis, which is part of why it's so dangerous (other than killing you, tearing up your lungs, etc).
I can't believe we didn't see it. Xal'atath - Kael'thas. The void transformation, soul restoration is complete! Teehee. ...The worst thing is that you could actually somewhat make this connection, depending on how much that we know about Xal'atath is true. I mean it would be really messy.
The lighting on the old god flesh can throw somebody off, but we've seen this specific tentacle type before. BFA, the 2 boss raid. The black spikes/spines on purple (in this case light purple, due to decomposition and the light source), the dead orange eyes spotted along the tentacle. It's one of N'zoth's tentacles. (Not all of those black spikes are spikes either, but teeth? It looks like there's a maw vertically going up the tentacle's flesh, but maybe they just cut the flesh open and that makes it sort of look like that).
ill be honest the spines coming off the druid makes me think quilboar more than spider. i don't think they would go that rout but it would be neat if it did.
Pyro what do we know about the cripple and the army shown? The white armour with the torch motif brings to mind the idea of a True paladin of fire and light like it was theorized
Nothing known yet, but some Empire(!) of Light. Hopefully done well, nothing is more boring than bringing in something like a full Empire, which than is just doing nothing. FF14 already ruined that completely, though there all antagonists do pretty much shit.
Hey pyro real quick...am I the only one that noticed that when the orbs circled around xalatath that it's literally the phases of the moon ...don't know where it fits put the lighting is literally the moon phases
i think the tentacle is xalatath the shadow of the conclave suspected she was the claw so maybe that nerubian is putting her in the claw in that cutscene
I really don't get the hate for this cinematic, it poses questions instead of answering them, a problem with the cinematics from BFA (though they were still fun to watch). I wouldn't go so far as to say that I'm hopeful, but there is nothing wrong with the cinematic.
Watching the Earthen using an Anvil as a hammer gave me facial hair.

I just want to randomly throw out that the diamond is with perfectly arranged atomic structure
50€ that the druid dancing is the missing link between Trolls and Elves. Like, the in-progress change.
Or, possibly, harronirs are ancestors of both.
Amazing ahhaha I took a vacation specifically for the release 🔥🎺🥁
nyalotha looks like everyone's worst nightmares and looks very cool in HD
Look at the "Carved" section of the tentacle, very closely Pyro, just the flayed section, then overlay the dagger of Xal, even the center core of Xal has an outline in the section of the tentacle. The flaring at the base matches the blade section. I think the Narubians helped to create the blade, and we may unlock that by questing through the storyline. Since playing from Day 1 of WoW, I learned that they never reveal "all" the story in Beta or PTRs..
28:36 looks like the tenticals from the Movie The Mist that grabs the kid and drags him out side, it split up the middle to open up more claws
Bro that half-elf is a Crusader. Its gonna be different than paladins because their half infused with light, the way they were trying to get Illidan. And that Elf/Troll is gonna be a which doctor. Diablo's universe has crashed into our! Oh mmmmyyyyyy!
😂
I'm glad that I can watch your and Phillip's reaction to this actually appreciating the trailer instead of shitting on it because it isn't big boom boom battle explosions shit.
Event horizon. That's the movement across the pupil.
Beware the eyes of green)))
I have a feeling the other two races in this cinematic will be an allied race. the arathi’s to the alliance, that troll race to the horde. And obviously we get earthen at launch for both factions.
The marks on the troll/elf's face are that of a tree and translation calls them crowns. Interesting! Much hype!
trolls evolving from nerubians could be a thing.
I remember a plot back in Legion where the Elves in Suramar (was it Falanaar specificly?) messed around with magic and got turned into Nerubians.
So maybe that spell did not transform them into something new, but DEVOLVED them into the original form of their race?
I think that they are the dark trolls last tribe untouched by the well of eternity what night elves used to look like and evolved naturally
Odd
There was a Genesaur that came to Azeroth from ADraenor in BfA when you recruited the Mag'har Orcs.
That giant egg in the Nerubian city at the very end if terrifying. It's huuuuuge.
I'm stoked to see you still enjoying WoW lore! I was afraid you had abandoned it again, but still going strong, apparently! Happy for you, Pyro^^

i'm more than excited for TWW, i am elated, i will be enjoying my siesta through Pre-Patch until the 19th of next month, when i log back in to prepare. i'll be among the early access crowd, hoping to farm enough gold selling mats and doing professions to keep me online during the length of the expansion.
I think there's 100% a connection between the mushrooms on the tree at 11:10 and the mushrooms from ardenweld they hinted that they had been there looooong before the winter queen even showed up
I'm excited for you to see the things that have already been shown in the Beta. You're gonna have a LOT to say.
@Pyromancer what do you think about the idea that we will soon go to real Prison of C'thun and Tample of Ahn'Qiraj was only a place of worship, as Ahn'Qiraj is severly lacking with titan statues and magial chains.
My biggest question is actually what mechanism the Earthen is winding up. I think that’s what he’s doing. Like a clockwork or something.
Xal's laugh at the end reminds me of the laugh from Majora's Mask
I really thing the theory of Xal'atath being a Void Lord has some real roots:
1) Xal'atath is driven by insane hunger for Azeroth worldsoul, which you can clearly hear from The War Within: Echoes of Azeroth cinematic. From Chronicle -Volume 1:
🔶 The void lords are monstrous entities composed of pure shadow energy.
2) Or she has a simple plan that's written also in Chronicle - Volume 1:
Corrupting a nascent titan, it would awaken as an unspeakably dark creature. No power in creation, not even the Pantheon, could stand against it. In time, the warped titan would consume all matter and energy in the universe, bringing every mote of existence under the void lords’ will. .... Which can also lead in some point to 1) ...
Between 1) and 2) there is connection:
3) Xal'atath is Void Lord wants to corrupt worldsoul, because every other Void creature failed to do so, she went into a physical world so she will do it herself.
I believe the 'Druid' is an undertroll/deep troll. You can tell by the extra fur on her thighs and how she looks a good bit like Darkspear trolls.
You should do some reactions to platinum wows lore channel would be interesting to see your takes on how he describes the lore
I wonder if those Orbs on Xala'taths shoulders are the essence of Argus and maybe K'aresh?
This video is telling us we'll get half elven race and half troll half elf race.
i see the troll woman being more controlled by the roots than controlling the roots
I'm probably wrong but maybe that's a Dark Troll doing some ancient Elune voodoo type shit?
I'm glad you're happy with the game now. Me, I'm waiting for Sylvanas to return.
The prototroll nerubian lady looks more ordered than druids :P
Definitely not paint, looks like something going through her veins
I wonder when we’re gonna get our animated shorts. We’ve had them every exp since MoP
I love this cinematic. I’m most interested in the new troll lady, her animation was cool as shit.
I can't believe we didn't see it. Xal'atath - Kael'thas. The void transformation, soul restoration is complete! Teehee.
...The worst thing is that you could actually somewhat make this connection, depending on how much that we know about Xal'atath is true. I mean it would be really messy.
What if Xalitath is a Nerubian who became powerful and they were stuck down or punished as an example?
Without the concept art, that fleshy mass looks like an intestine.
Everyone knows the Earthen use hair squigs for beards and hair!
At 11:51, it's looks like something what book of of star trek discovery would do to connect to nature.
that earthen should be doing pull ups while yanking that chain - aint no way he ways more than it + the hammer its lifting.
What if Y'sharaj was the mutated Nerubian Old God....the features match to a degree somehow
Stoked for the story !!!
Avatar. I wish we got cool trailers again.
I believe she is a half elf, so one eye glows like a High Elf and the other is human.
Would to see your ideas and theories for new old gods that we havent seen yet , sure they will be awesome
Jesus christ, that one armed, blind lesbian right in the centre. But that dwarf tho is bad ass!
the visuals with this version reminds me of the other version of the shadowlands trailor but this one is much more cool looks terrific
Pyro. This magic color, and the way she's standing is VERY reminiscent of necromancy (Diablo universe).
The floor has a V on it. V as in 5. It’s the 5th old god. Or piece of rather.
Mr.I'm-Gona-Do-Other-Stuff-Outrage-Since-BFA+SL = Comes-Back-To-Promote-Same-Said-Company-Expecting-Different-Results = Einstein laughs.
Neurbians from ice crown have you colors on them that are like yog these from the video have purple like yasheraz
That green looks like some chi energy to me. Chi is spirit manipulation, right? A different, more primal version of mistweaver chi manipulation.
I really don't get the hate for this cinematic, it poses questions instead of answering them, a problem with the cinematics from BFA (though they were still fun to watch).
I wouldn't go so far as to say that I'm hopeful, but there is nothing wrong with the cinematic.
New MC scored very high on their chart
The tentacle is the exact same shape as the black blade.
I can watch these all day.
