In my case the fault was with the little buck converter near the USB connector. I'll leave a link to the repair in the decryption above in case you are interested. The chip marked CA2C1S is actually an AON7409 MOSFET if you can find one. They are listed as obsolete but there is a replacement part, the AONR21357. They are about $1.25 at DigiKey.

I think the chip is probably a RY8310 30V 1.2A 1.4MHz Synchronous Step-Down Regulator in a SOT23-6 package. The datasheet states "Top Marking: GBYLL (device code: GB, Y=year code, LL= lot number code)"

I think you're 100% right! I'll get some in and attempt the repair. They are pretty cheap. Thank you!

Nice. Hopefully you can fix it. I recently bought a very similar soldering iron on Amazon called the Mini65, at least that's the generic name. It takes the same tips but it has a different processor(an Stm32). I did a bit of poking around on the internet and probing with the multimeter to figure out what the processor was because they blasted the markings off of it. Since it's a very popular processor hopefully someone will write some custom firmware for it.

Thanks. It's just a guess that that chips is solely to blame. In any case, it's not going to cost very much to find out.
It the current code not working well?

@@uni-byte Yeah it's nice when a repair is cheap and hopefully that chip fixes the problem.
Actually the current firmware works great and it's not fussy at all about the power delivery like my Pinecil iron is. Just thought for future and possible new or better features having a copy of the firmware would be nice. I contacted the company and they have no plans to release any updated firmware.
