Unboxing our New Surron Ultra Bee | Our First Impressions

- We were so curious and excited by the Surron Ultra Bee that we couldn't wait and imported one before it hits the market in Europe.
The bike breathes quality and unlike its sister, the Light Bee, from brakes to suspensions, 100% of its equipment is motorbike grade. It obviously is fairly heavier (life is about compromises). So let's check this out!

Je pense que c’est la moto idéale pour commencer. Format moto facile à prendre en main mais qui te permettra d’évoluer dans le temps

Yep, dirt bike bars fit this bike so we went with a Renthal Fatbar (Honda style) as we were in a rush and went to the nearest shop haha

I've wondered how a light front 27.5+/650b+ would work? I have some slower woods trails, no mountains.

@@ottokirk2325 wouldn't risk that on the Ultra… it's starting to be risky with a MTB wheel. On the LB it's already at the limit.
Are the plastics black under those stickers? If yes, why are they still there?

I wouldn't say it replaces the light. Different beast. This one is a Light dirtbike, but it handles like a full size, not a hybrid MTB/dirtbike piloting style like the LB.
Cela donne vraiment envie . Combien le prix de vente ? Et pouvez vous me dire le poids de la moto avec toutes les pièces retirées ?
Et préciser si c'est avec les roues stock ou comme apparemment , déjà avec des 18 / 21 . Merci .
Elle fait grosso modo 80kg sans les pièces. Après il faut compter le poids que tu vas rajouter avec les pièces renforcées.
Je ne sais pas trop quel va être le prix public encore en France… En tout cas elle est livrée en 19/19 côté roues.

I think needed upgrades right away is rear shock and fork, probably sving arm and linkage and wheels and tires. Kind of wish sur ron would selv their bikes as frames and motors only as an option. Or even just the frame at least for the light bee as the light bee needs serious upgrades and that will end up being a 12 K bike before upgrade is completed. A better way off course would be for sur ron to do "factory bikes" for a higher price with high end parts that is "race ready" and do not need upgrades. Haven't ridden ultra bee yet so I can't say much about that. But light bee needs serious and costly upgrades. Battery, controllers, motor, wheels n tires, brakes, swing arm, linkage and whatever optics people choose. Stock light bee is lame. So tbh I kind of expect that to the true also for the Ultra bee. Is there any third parties that have done Ultra upgrades yet?
We gotta see these bikes for what they are: Light Bee is a 50cc equivalent and I'd say 90% of their owners are happy with the bikes in their stock form. Now obviously all of us who want to race them or use them as serious off-road machines will definitely end up changing a huge amount of parts.
Now the Ultra is a 125cc equivalent, so it's already tuned for higher power. So far our thoughts are that the required upgrades are wheels and tyres and the controller for more power (but stock power is already pretty good). Shocks are okay too. But might end up needing to be tuned or improved (like one would do with their Factory enduro/cross bikes anyways).
surron makes the tires (shiiy) because of road regulations. ( this is meant to be a short commuter as well as a off road bike)
Yeah they have to come with road legal tyres. Also I guess they don’t mind saving a bit on these. They could have came up with dual sport tyres for instance. But if that’s the only drawback of this bike, we’re good 😝

Im honestly considering selling my talaria for one of these rather than buying a 2.5k battery for my talaria
They are different beasts! I really depends on how tall you are and the type of riding you do.
They confort zone is at different ends of the off-road spectrum.
@@MTO_Brothers I rode one around the park last week. The bike is much taller but I can still sit flat footed the suspension is much more cushy I noticed that as soon as I sat on it and the brakes are super sensitive I nearly went over the bars the first time I grabbed some brake. The 12kw feels good and will be fun for a while but with it being heavier it could prob use a little more power than that and with the storm bee motor it's certainly capable prob just needs a good controller and a bypassed bms.
@@MotoAlias Looks like the BMS is very permissive on this one. We'll be working on power mods. It's not as needed as on the LB, but clearly 15-18kw would be a really sweet spot with this one.
@@MTO_Brothers you could run 15 to 18 kw without needing to bypass the stock bms? That would be impressive I heard the battery is pretty capable but I assumed it needed bypassing

Disappointed to see the same weak looking linkages on the rear and akso the same bekt drive that's such a pain in the ass on the regular surron
The belt looks way better protected and is definitely bigger thus stronger. Now regarding the linkage I can't agree more. I'll be working on this…
