    2:00 slight mistake - you call the m15 a an m14.
    For future reviews, you might also want to talk about thermal performance - both on terms of temperatures and cpu/gpu throttling. Lappability with a hot laptop is always good to know!

  • @yubeeeep
    @yubeeeep 3 ปีที่แล้ว +71

    As a razor blade 15 owner i can say the finger print issue is a problem though with that light weight its worth it. Though mine dosent have the vapor chamber, so mine can run hot pretty easily were the metal can burn your hand.

    • @ndc5544p
      @ndc5544p 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I mitigated it on mine ( 15", i7-8750H with GTX1060 6GB) by installing some Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. I also tried liquid metal but it started oxidising the copper after a few months so I returned to thermal paste.
      Also, try Intel XTU and you can undervolt it quite a bit, I run mine at -0.14V constantly without stability issues. Even the intel iGPU can be undervolted at -0.11V without any problems. That helped in mitigating the high temperatures during gaming and intense usage on my device.

    • @galactor123
      @galactor123 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can second that as a 2020 base blade 15 owner. Love the thing. Due in part to my desktop being a bit of a hodge podge job at the moment in certain circumstances that laptop can actually beat my current desktop in terms of FPS, all for around a grand which ain't nothing, but at the same time is well within a "gaming" budget, laptop or no.
      But yeah, I also noticed even just playing War Thunder which ain't the most taxing of games, it does run a little spicy, to the point where I could feel the heat coming through the keyboard after about an hour or two of consistent play. I don't think it was enough to hurt the laptop (didn't hear any fans revving high, etc) and didn't effect performance, but it was a smidge uncomfortable. I think if you can get a damn good deal on it, the pro version with the vapor chamber might be worth it just for the comfort.

      Came here to ask about this. It's not a gaming laptop, but it IS a near-totally user-serviceable and -upgradeable one, and really that's something that should be standard, especially if tech companies are as concerned about climate change as they claim they are.

      To be fair every Laptop has bad QC. The difference is, Razer doesn't have Customer Support. Like it does not exist, at all.
      Motherboard blows out? Batter swells? Screen flickers? Oh well, too bad. If your local third-party repair shops can't fix it then you're screwed. THAT'S the risk you take when buying any Razer PC. I am not saying the products themselves are bad, but they are relatively expensive and people should know what they are buying into beforehand and not regret their decision afterwards.

    Wholly smokes…Just received this notebook with QHD and 3070, I previously owned a Razer blade 17 pro and sold it after one interstate trip. I do miss the larger display but it was way too heavy to carry around. I fired up escape from tarkov, pubg, cod, bf5, balders gate 3, arma 3, it breezed through them, to my surprise, it performed so well, smooth gameplay all well above 60 fps, no lag and noise level is surprisingly quiet under load. The 1440P IPS 165hz is top notch, sure it doesn’t have perfect black but the picture quality is sharp and vibrant colour, not to mention great response time. I think it is even more responsive than my LG CX OLED 4K display which I use with my main rig running 6800XT. Anyways, this thing is worth considering if minimum weight and size are your primary requirement and you need the horsepower for demanding games when you are away from home.

    Battery life similar to the Macbooks and thinner bezels and I'd be on Razer's website ordering the highest spec model of this laptop. Guess I'll have to wait for the next model then lol.

    one of the reasons that the laptop displays are insufficient in sunlight is low brightness. but therers another reason for this problem; LCD displays have lower contrast ratio; I noticed this on my smartphones; I used a lumia 925, Nokia 6 and galaxy note 9 in last 4 years.
    I used all of them in auto brightness except for lumia 925, the processor would heat up easily due to constant sensory informatiın that it had to do in order to keep the brightess on optimal level.
    the results were interesting; we can gues early on that note9 didint had any issues whatsoever. yes but even when I was using it with 40% brightness level it had a better performance under sunlight than my nokia 6 with its 500 nits LCD display fully crancked up. I assume note9's display is around 400 nits in 40% brightness.
    and same goes for my old lumia as well; I was using it with medium level brightness. which should be arund 4-500 nits.
    OLED displays would perform better under sunlight.

    My suggestion for a beast of a gaming laptop that is still portable and has a bigger screen has to go to the Asus ROG Zephyrus G15, and with the RTX3000 mobile series being a clusterf**k that it is a 3070 at 100-140w is plenty. Would love to see you review it.

    Why do every laptop manufacturer puts a low Resolution Web cam. And a Mid or Low Range smartphone can even output 1080 to 4k with their selfie cam...???

    Phone looks nice but it's too flimsy. If you drop it on concrete the exterior screen will crack and the display will not work. Skip it😣
