I've been waiting for this review. My first Blade ever and I got the 3070 model and I'm in love. What's even better is I was looking at those Damascus skins and I couldn't find any videos of them on laptops and I finally click this review and see you got it and it looks great. I'll have to pull the trigger on that skin as well. How can you not go green when it's a Razer?
As a current blade owner and somebody that switched out of necessity (I lost my job and home due to the lockdowns and had to sell my desktop and other stuff and managed to have enough left over to buy this as I needed an okay computer for the field I am in). If you get a Blade 14/15 whatever immediately buy a replacement/third party battery and re-pad and re-paste it. My pads were cooked into brownie brittle after 6mo and the battery bloated out at 9mo
Great video as always. I was seriously considering this laptop and the only reason I decided against it was the RAM limitation. Hope in the future they offer more RAM in such a great device.
I really can't wait for laptop manufacturers to start building Ryzen based systems with Thunderbolt. I use the thunderbolt ecosystem and I love it. One cable to swap between my gaming desktop and my work laptop. Same screen, keyboard, mouse, DAC/Amp, headphones, microphone, webcam, ethernet port... the lot! My gaming desktop is a 5950X so why can't my work laptop be a 5900HX?
I'm in the same boat as you, need more RAM. I've got another couple of months before I have to make a decision on laptops, hopefully Razor will roll out a higher spec'ed RAM version by then.

8:35 I have to argue that it’s developers and businesses that should implement this stuff on ARM 64. For example, NVIDIA creating their own ARM based chips and developers optimizing and also creating games for ARM. This is an absolute win
I recently picked up the 3060 variant of this laptop for under $1500 from BBuy (after coupons, gift cards, etc.) and I gotta say this thing is seriously impressive. With Synapse boost mode and some mild OC’ing in Afterburner, the 3060 can benchmark within 6-7% of the 3070 Fire Strike scores in this video. That 100W really makes a difference.
What happened to number pads? Did a number pad throw somebody out of a window? Did an executive get stabbed by a number pad outside a bar in Xinjiang? 2021 laptops have simultaneously dropped 2.5" SSDs in favor of M.2 2280s only, and it seems like a lot of 15" laptops 'not Lenovo' have quietly dropped their number pads. No one brings this up.
My current razer blade's trackpad is crap because the cheap battery is swollen and pushes up against the trackpad. It's a very common issue from the 2019 model year , hopefully they fixed it
Lost me at 14". Idk, but I really don't care about weight and size in my gaming laptops. If it were up to me, I'd start normalizing 17" laptops instead with 1440p screens. More room for cooling, less throttling inside the laptop body too. Give it to me thick and cool.

That's a sick skin - dbrand would be daft not to make that a permanent option and not just a one time buy. As for the laptop, I go 17 inches. The Razer blade pro is the one to get for the 4K display, more RAM/storage and 3080. Now if they could put a Ryzen in the bigger chassis as well it would certainly open up the options and give people a choice over say XPS17 and the new Alienware stuff. Don't even get me started on that Clevo/Eurocom garbage.
A Windows alternative for upcoming M1X MBP? Let see, 5h battery life, 300 nits dim 1080p 16:9 screen with mediocre colour gamut, high power draw with a heavy brick needed since even 100W PD won’t be enough, and a 16GB RAM limit. Yeah that sounds like real competition as a mobile workhorse :P
I’m 2 years in with my 15” Advanced Razer Blade (i7-8750H/2070MQ), no battery swell. I see you’ve done some Reddit research but don’t take everything to heart.
The fact that it doesn't have a thunderbolt port in 2021 is absurd, especially with how easy it is to implement on the motherboard, and no matter how good of a computer it might be would make it an instant no for me. My home rig has a Dell D6000 hooked up to three monitors, and KVM'd to my main USB hub so I can plug in my work laptops, or KVM to my main gaming rig. If I had another laptop, I'd want it to be able to integrate into my system.
Can i just say, the razer blade is great no doubt. Though, can i just say that there's a mess of battery bloating and thunderbolt issues with razer blades? I really think razer's quality should be put in question.
I can't buy razer anymore. I got the swollen battery. The heat pipes twisted off the gpu. The track pad cracked. A few screws fell of the bottom. Customer service wouldn't even send me replacement screws. They said they were out...

Mannn the limited ram really is a issue if your using more than 16gb ona day to day use, Also the option of not having egpus compatible feels like a compromise, it basically renders the Razer Core X useless.
Agree. I am beginning to look at wanting to upgrade my Stealth 13" 1060 to a Razer 14/15 and the 14 just has too many compromises at the moment. Still have probably a year until I upgrade though =)
Sadly I think the dbrand skin shown here is not really available (generally) which given that this laptop was just released and DL's showing it off just seems like a total waste of free advertising... dbrand move it out of "special edition" and into standard for this laptop... thanks!
I have the base model M1 Air for school, the blade is twice as heavy, the 3080 one is 3x the cost, idk why you're comparing it to MacBook's, they're completely different tools lol. The Razer Blade is a lot stronger, yes, but I just need a thin and light laptop with a long lasting battery for school, not to game on the go all day that'd be hella distracting. plus Desktop gaming > Laptop gaming.

Still sticking to my Razer Blade 2019 version with 2080 max q and 240 hz panel with 32 gigs of ram also in that mercury white color so I see less finger prints, if they make a mercury white one then I’ll consider it.
Pity! The cap of 16Gb of ram is too limiting (talking about a Windows machine obviously). It's a pity. It could even been a very good ultra portable laptop for professional. Waiting the M1X.

If Razer Blade 14 came in white model I would buy it anyday, but doing so will hinder their MyBook sales, so they will never do that unless they scrap MyBook lineup which does worse than XPS/Macbook I think given the price/performance Right now the major issue with blade 14 and maybe even 15 is Some people want RAM of 32GB 16:10 Mercury White colour Price not being super expensive compared to Asus G14/15 Better battery Better customer service/repair (Customer service can be fixed, but I understand repair side is harder given they are a smaller company)

I just realized that razer Blade 14 is only 100 dollars more than g14, if you want 1440p screen, and razer has 3070 instead of 3060.

All that processing power and limited to 16gb ram... I can't even run all the dev servers I need for regular development with that.
