Doing a four month review for a product is something I highly respect. It shows on the quality of the review.
it shows he is getting the most views and more money from videos titled with the name of this particular laptop, hence, flog the horse till it is dead. You do not understand monetization and using the stats and demographics section of a youtuber's monetized channel I am afraid. It is not the quality of review he cares about, it is money he cares about. I myself look at which videos get most views, I post about amulets, but my motorcycle reviews get more views! So, i decided to do more motorcycle reviews. In the same sense, this dude also decided to repeatedly upload reviews of this laptop to increase his earnings. No goodheartedness or over-dedication to reviewing involved i am afraid. Only pragmatism and greed. For Gosh sake let therte be truth at last! The world has turned into a pile of liars and deceivers

@@zachanator55599 macbooks are trash for gaming. There's only MacBook Pro suitable for gaming and it will give you the chance to play some entry-level games such as Borderlands, older versions of Call Of Duty and others. And you'll go and replace your keyboard after a year or two of gaming :D

I love dual screens. I miss having a second screen like I did on the DS and 3DS. Throwing all the UI elements or inventory on the second screen to quickly switch between items or monitor stats was incredibly useful.
This is my dream laptop since it launched.

If I could just take a moment to brown nose for a second. I must say Michael, I have watched you since your Pocketnow days. I enjoyed your reviews then and as for today, the reviews are just that much more polished and perfect IMO. They are concise without being too vague. They are robust without being too long. They're saturated with information about the product yet every piece of that information is educational and informative in helping the end users purchase decision. Plus, after all that they are really entertaining and visually stunning to watch. And to top it all off you continue to come up with subject matter that keeps the channel fresh like the "When phones were fun" series. Here I am still happily typing away on my 13in Mid-2012 Macbook Pro with an upgraded 240GB SSD, new battery, and 16GB of ram. 😂
@Joshua Knighten It's not my main computer, so 240GB was more than enough, plus I got mine free from the local recycle drop off e-waste bin with the magsafe charger earlier this year, and I was trying to keep the repair cost to around $100USD, as I also had to replace the HDD ribbon cable.

Same. Had mind since 2013. Replaced the HDD for an SSD and a new battery. $200 and I’ve gotten several years of use out of the thing, and avoided some of the terrible apple design changes in the process.
Best of all, it’s reinforced the importance of being able to open up my computer and actually swap out parts to extend its lifespan.
I still use mine every day. My battery is on the way out though, do you have any recommendations for a replacement?

He's playing at 4k 120hz. You can't expect anything more than that from a 20-series mobile gpu.
Watching this on the Original Asus pro duo, which I got in part because of your recommendation. Considered getting the Zephyrus instead but I think this fits my needs a lot better. Thank you for helping us out wading through all the gadgets out there.
This was such complex review, going through gaming, office, design and usability, with real usage. A great overall review
Great review. I would suggest waiting for little bit before spending 5000usd. RTX 2080 super is older and RTX 3000 mobile GPUs are coming in January. Better hold your valuable money for month or two and get far better performance ( better flight simulator 😂)

@@TheMrMobile better advice don't game at 4k GPUs are not there yet. You will gett better FPS by setting the screen to 1080p or 1440p and still setting every thing to max.
4k game with an high FPS is still years away.
It's not a little bit of waiting, next gen laptops are announced at CES and then you can actually buy them only around May / June so basically you need to wait more than 6 months and the price will be high.

If there was pen support like the Zenbook, I’d shell out the extra grand for the Zephyrus duo. The main screen being touch would be nice too
i totally agree i wish it was oled and had touchscreen I feel like the 4k 120hz screen is taking a huge loss not having a oled screen.

This thing will do 98% of games at 4k 120hz, just not cyberpunk and flight sim 2020. Does your desktop manage to do that? Because if so you must be one of the six guys who actually got their hands on a 3080.

I'm still using a Gigabyte Aero 15x as my primary laptop. For the real PC gaming though I just built a completely new desktop gaming PC with a Ryzen 9 5900x, RTX 3080, 32GB of 3600mhz CL16 RAM, 5TB of NVMe SSD storage and an LG 27GN950 27inch 4K 144Hz monitor. I am absolutely loving it, it's just awesome.

Enjoying my ROG Strix G17 144HZ display with 32 GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Asus was voted best laptop brand for 2020.
The track pad is perfectly positioned. That Asus's trackpad with numeric keyboard is a real deal!!!

I really wish Asus had offered an in-between screen option that balances resolution and refresh rate - 1440p 144hz. I feel like that would be the sweet spot for most people

The Duo runs more FPS on an external display if you disable the ScreenPad+; will probably get more with the main display off too!

My gaming PC is just collecting dust, ever since I switched to use zenbook pro duo as a daily driver. Even if secondary screen isn't properly angled it is useful as hell.
Got the zephyrus 15 DUO se laptop last week and i cannot even play a youtube video sometimes on the internal laptop if i have both the displays on! I have a 5k monitor connected VIA HDMI, i cannot even play GTA5 on low settings, similar issues with video playback and especially if i connect a Bluetooth headset, it's done! HELLLPPPP!!! 🙌🙌

I just want to state the fact that he's playing these games at 4K.
even an RTX 3090, which is the most powerful GPU available today, and a graphics card that costs as much as an expensive gaming laptop, has a very hard time pulling off consistent 60 FPS on a game like cyberpunk 2077, at a 4K resolution. all the more reason to be utterly AMAZED by the fact, that this 15.6" laptop can actually deliver a stable, playable experience.
all the more impressive considering that this machine is actually way thinner than even a PS4!
this is a very important thing to note, as I've seen people make fun of the "40-50 fps hype", because it does sound a bit disappointing.
now I'll say this again, pretty much the single most demanding graphical setting in a video game is it's resolution.
If you don't believe me, launch the most graphically demanding game you own, set the resolution to 720p (instead of 1080p), and check the fps count. from my experience, on my puny 4GB R9-290, the difference is usually twice as much.
so again, a LAPTOP, that runs the MOST GRAPHICALLY DEMANDING GAMES ON THE MARKET, at the HIGHEST SETTINGS POSSIBLE, on 4 times the pixel count of most gamer's monitors.
this isn't impressive at all, it's actually fucking mind blowing.
Ain't gonna lie, I tried to blow off the dust at 6:02 mark. Puffed at the screen and was in shock immediately after. GREAT REVIEW ONCE AGAIN MR. FISHER, KEEP EM COMING

All depends on the usecase. I bought mine for vMix and content creation first, gaming 2nd. The 4k is perfect for productivity and content creation.

The laptop has one major flaw which contradicts the main objective of purchasing this laptop: you cant use the touchsceen while gaming. Oddly, your main display is minimized if u attempt to touch the second screen while gaming. This defeats the main purchase of purchasing the laptop as it means you cant use the second display actively while gaming. For example if you attempt to use skype, whatsapp or discord in the secondary screen while gaming, your main screen would be minimised when you touch the second screen. This means that you can only use the second screen for display purposes while gaming but cant interact with it. Hence I would recommend it for creative work but not gaming
I don't think it would minimize the main window. He said it shifts focus, so if you touch the smaller screen, you would have to click or alt+tab back to your main window.
The numbers used to demonstrate the number pad made me chuckle.

Cyberpunk 2077 is actually misconfigured and not using your full system RAM or Video RAM! it was only using 3GB of my 8GB 2070 before I edited the l config file. I recommend looking into this to get some better performance in your game :)
great video Michael! Just as I was telling David Imel I got my Zephyrus Duo 15 he said you just posted your video an hour ago!! What are the chances? I've only had it for 3 days and this is my first new Windows laptop in over a decade, so there's a bit of a learning curve for me. So far so good.
If your interested on spending this kinda money on a laptop, and can wait a few months I would recommend it. Nvidia should be coming out with mobile versions of their new Ampere series GPUs within a few months.

Basically no PC in existence can run Flight Sim at 4K Max settings, so I'm really not surprised how it ran as a laptop.
The mobile 2080 Super really isn't quite cut out for 4K.

there was setting with cyberpunk that made it possibly not have full access to ram or vram. Once u fix that setting it runs amazing

The only laptop I'd really want tbh. It looks amazing.
As a captain you have the flight stick at the left side and the throttle control at the right side.
IMO, because of the placement of the touchpad, Asus should've had the main screen be a touchscreen. As a compromise for lefties, or at least make a left-handed version.
Okay now I desperately want that Thrustmaster Airbus Throttle.
I think the 3 things that would have made this laptop perfect is having a OLED screen to complement the 4K 120 hz screen, touchscreen display, and removing the chin completley.
In the 16 inch updated version of this laptop 2 of those issues will be fixed and I'm confident that this display will be an mini led screen.

It's arguably one of the best laptops of 2020, and it's the most powerful 14 inch laptop out there.
12:55 Not true. They have PC cases the size of a 2013 original Xbox One console. You can build a very powerful PC with the Fractal Design Node 202 case or the Silverstone RVZ02 or RVZ03 cases. You can easily bring that with you in your car and drive to your Dad's house and hook it up via HDMI to his TV or a monitor.

Just wish you'd drop the resolution of some of the heavy games to 1080p or 1440p, you'd have a much better experience overall and would be able to crank all the setting dials and have it be buttery smooth.
