I've owned both a GR86 and GR Supra, and your comparison was spot on. Hope I can drive a GRC at some point for reference, but all 3 of these cars are just awesome. Seriously can't go wrong with any of them.

Bigger isn’t always better. I’ve had a manual GR Supra and an auto, and while they are great cars, I got bored in them. They are fast couches. The GR86 is way more fun to drive and that’s what I have now
That's an awesome perspective to hear, you dont hear supra owners going to the 86 often, but what your saying makes sense, I guess it really comes down to how much someone enjoys pushing a car to its limits and thats where the gr86 comes on top for sure

@@BlackWater6937 we have stupid rules and regulations following stupid safety rules and the EPA is also the culprit part of it. Why you think we didn’t get the rice rockets from Japan during the 90’s and left us out? It’s our stupid policies we established in the US. Pop up headlights didn’t became legal during the 1980’s is why we never got the AE86 until later pop up headlights were acceptable at that time frame. Toyota phased out the pop up headlights going to the Levin body style. When you see 25 years past wanting to import one in the US, those rules won’t mean anything to follows safety and EPA rules. Plus it costs money to the manufacturer in R&D that Im sure they wouldn’t invest in and focus on markets that is less restrictive. I wish we could reduce importing at 20 years like Canada does instead of 25 years

I have a Zd8 BRZ with just an exhaust and raced my friends gr corolla from a roll. 2nd gear is dead even, but once we hit third, he walks me hard. So it’s good seeing the turbo gr86 beat a stock corolla at least. As I want to turbo mine. Did the corolla have any passengers?

I have a GR Corolla and FR-S. I always debate boosting it because it needs more umph, but looking at your accel video I'm like damn...yeah...it needs a lot to be quick lol.
as an owner of a first gen BRZ im stuck between the Supra and Corolla for my choices mid next year, thanks for this video! cant decide if I want the hatchback or the sports car feel of another 2 door.
The first gen brz is great! you should definitely test drive a 2nd gen to see if you like that, if you really need space corolla or type r all the way. If your ready for that weekend warrior, supra is the move.

The GR Corolla suffers the most from drivetrain loss, especially on a hot day with dry concrete. Not surprised by its rolling race results.
A launch would have definitely been a much more fair race for the corolla for sure

The picture is not a GR Yaris... That's a regular 5 door Yaris Hybrid.... One of the most common cars you will find on European roads.
it is GRed a bit. in europe you have a GR treatment on yaris, corolla, 4runner... that yaris is only 170hp hybrid automatic only.
this was sad for me to learn, It's very interesting that toyota has a GR trim below the actual GR

Kinda expected. The Supra engine is a beast and despite all the hate it gets for being a BMW it's power is very underrated at the wheels, and that automatic is pretty good. But I've heard people say it can be scary to give it the beans because it handles very edgy with the tail wanting to whip out. Frankly the BMW comfort and power is the best part of this collab. The GR Corolla isn't significantly faster than a stock GRZ so that's not surprising either. Would've been interesting to see a launch but that Supra has too much power.
It’s said to be edgy when pushing it through corners aggressively, not accelerating in a straight line. That would just mean you need new tires.
@@Barbwire710 yeah, I mean that turbocharged inline-6 is gonna have better power delivery and grip than the GR, even if the power to weight are similar.

I think the motors that were put into each of these cars is just right for the chassis, I'm glad the brz / gr86 is capable of handling more power then it comes with, definitely makes it more enjoyable knowing that the car isnt maxed out on performance from factory.

I agree it would be much closer to the other 2, I drove a 2.0 around as a rental and it was horribly slow, my brz would definitely be able to beat it, the gr corolla vs it would definitely be interesting.

I own both 2021 GR Supra and the 2024 GRC Circuit... the supra is superior in build of the 3. The BMW bullshit hate needs to go away. I will sell both for a GTR and move away for the BS.
