in terms of performance, the corolla is better looks nicer than the 86 too imo

@@randomducklingg 86 looks much better imo, the 86, FRS, and BRZ have looked top tier for generations(especially modified) but only lacked the extra power people wanted

I think the motors that were put into each of these cars is just right for the chassis, I'm glad the brz / gr86 is capable of handling more power then it comes with, definitely makes it more enjoyable knowing that the car isnt maxed out on performance from factory.

I have learned the wrong in my ways, I am sorry haha, I was not aware that there is a GR sport trim that is below the actual GR name, pretty cool to learn!

A launch would have definitely been a much more fair race for the corolla for sure

The first gen brz is great! you should definitely test drive a 2nd gen to see if you like that, if you really need space corolla or type r all the way. If your ready for that weekend warrior, supra is the move.

That's an awesome perspective to hear, you dont hear supra owners going to the 86 often, but what your saying makes sense, I guess it really comes down to how much someone enjoys pushing a car to its limits and thats where the gr86 comes on top for sure

it is GRed a bit. in europe you have a GR treatment on yaris, corolla, 4runner... that yaris is only 170hp hybrid automatic only.

@@BlackWater6937 we have stupid rules and regulations following stupid safety rules and the EPA is also the culprit part of it. Why you think we didn’t get the rice rockets from Japan during the 90’s and left us out? It’s our stupid policies we established in the US. Pop up headlights didn’t became legal during the 1980’s is why we never got the AE86 until later pop up headlights were acceptable at that time frame. Toyota phased out the pop up headlights going to the Levin body style. When you see 25 years past wanting to import one in the US, those rules won’t mean anything to follows safety and EPA rules. Plus it costs money to the manufacturer in R&D that Im sure they wouldn’t invest in and focus on markets that is less restrictive. I wish we could reduce importing at 20 years like Canada does instead of 25 years

yeah but you can legally ring out the 86 just fine. 5.5 - 6s isn't as bad as people make it out to be, if you can't drive it fast then you suck at driving. Obviously a sub-30k car isn't gonna compete with a Touring car or a 60k BMW. Regulations made things expensive. I mean sure an ecoboost is faster, but they'll nickle and dime the sh1t out of you for all the things you would want in it and you'll still get trolled for not having a V8. And btw, this can keep up with a WRX and a GR Corolla isn't That much faster for 50% more.

it is fast enough for what it is designed to do. but still wakes up super well with boost, the engine can take it too.
