I totally support and agree with you that 325hp is a great benchmark for the BRZ to make. This way you can still daily it and keep it reliable. In regards to the overheating you could always upgrade the radiator. If I remember correctly the kit came with an intercooler but I do not recall you upgrading the radiator. Sometimes just upgrading the fan on the radiator could help, but more often than not you will need to upgrade the radiator. Keep up the great work!
I'm fixing to get this turbo kit for sure. Prolly wait til early spring. But I'm definitely going with the Jdl kit. Thank you for sharing your experience. Much appreciated
I just got my own 86 recently and it’s so cool to see the stuff people be doing with theirs especially cuz I’m broke now lol so I can’t do much to mine atm
Hey man awesome video! Planning to turbo mine with this same kit and tuned to a similar power level, what tires do you have to hold down the power your currently at? Im thinking of like 245/40/R18 should be just fine for my setup.
I already blew mine up but if I could go back I would get an AOS system asap and not push it as much (I was on 12ib spring) because the fa20 is already a high-compression motor, to begin with but a safe tune turbo kit is perfect for the car and really wakes it up.
what other changes did you do on the car itself in congruence to boosting it? I mean, do the stock internals and engine components handle the boost just fine? Supporting mods? how long have you daily'd it boosted? and is the handling any different? I own a 23' GR86 and would love to boost it for some more fun. 325whp sounds great, however; I am a noob to cars and want to learn more. Sorry if my questions were answered in the video; new to the channel and subbed!
Depends what your goals are. If you are just dailying it, and not tracking it or using it for some other purpose where increasing power is actually beneficial beyond caring what others think, probably not necessary unless you're somebody with a small package that needs some validation. Lol
Got a kit used for my gen one and have just had lots of issues with manifold flanges not being flat, tuner issue chasing leaks etc. ordering a new manifold and flanges STILL not being flat and not being coated as described. moral of the story: buy a new JDL kit the first time.
honestly, I think you should not boost your biz/86 because the turbo lag will kill the experience and may be super change it but really just put itb get it tuned it should 250+ at least don't waste your money on turbos they are going to kill you engine instead use that money and try making your car lighter or buy batter dampers. if you want to boost it do it, it is your car have a good day

That turbo is perfect for daily driving. I'm not interested in 500hp. Thanks for making this video.

Damm 47000 miles you really do daily drive that thing

That’s awesome bro! This car keeps me pinched as well haha, just obsessed with the platform!
Bruh tell me about it!!

I love that rumble. Doesnt sound like crap. Nice tone
Makes me want to turbo mine so bad!
When doing pulls and drive shots, I recommend to mute the music.
The turbo is hard to catch accurately on mic but damn it sounds kinda crazy. I’ll probably grab a shirt when it goes on sale.
Makes me really want to go turbo
I don't really have anything to say. Just an algorithm comment.

You blew up your first gen? I only asked because you mentioned the FA20, not FA24.
@@Barbwire710 yah it was a 2015 with a 5k mile motor in it

Stock motor but need Injectors and Fuel pump to get that 325hp on 93 pump. And have a good tuner.
Don't forget an aos as well for the car
Time for some e85🤙
I'd honestly be perfectly happy with just about 50 more horsepower not gonna lie.

Or someone who would just like to modify their daily driver in a tasteful way?
@@wyattspencer2281 correct, im just referring to those who want more power for silly reasons.
Nows that its boosted how does it compare to your Type R?
can you do a mod list video
I have JDL UELs. Can I still use it with the turbo or not?
No sir, the turbo kit comes with a turbo manifold that replaces that
Which BOV are you running?
Which blow off valve do you have?
20 mph highway is significantly worse, isn't it?
It's supposed to get 27 mpg according to EPA. 20 mpg is over 30% less. LMAO that's terrible!
0-60?
recently boosted, has been a nightmare 😂🤕
What problems have you run in to?
Second the question
