Learn how to mount the open end on a jamb chuck or pin jaws of scroll chuck and turn a domed bottom and rimmed foot on the bottom and get rid of the gloves they can catch on spinning wood and pull your hand into the area between the tool rest and wood and injure your hand Twist a piece of dowel on each end of the wire you have used for friction burning
Anyone who doesn't use safety gear when it's available is an idiot. Possibility that the gloves will get caught. There is also the possibility that a meteor will strike the house and yet we still press on. Great job on this turning.
@@RcWoodturning That wasn't advice. Those were demands! DEMANDS, I say!!! Do it the way I tell you or suffer the consequences! 😡(And who the hell needs this thing called "tact" anyway?) LOL! Nice little project. I can see why they sell.
Great shape, nicely done! Stay well
Thank you
Very nice. I’m going to give this a shot. I appreciate you just showing how to do it without music or a bunch of chit chat.
Thank you! I appreciate that!
Good luck with your project.
Great job, good idea. Did you use mostly bowl gouge?
@@Danseadorf Thank you!
Yes. I use a 1/2 bowl gouge for most everything.
Love the natural edge.
Thank you
Great idea. Great project. Simple and nice. I'm going to try doing some.
Go for it!
I've mounted the wire on an old hacksaw frame, it works really well and makes it easy to put pressure on the wire.
That's a great idea!
Love it, what a pretty little thing, great gift.
Thank you.
Excellent job 👍🏻 Thanks for sharing….

Wow, very nice, I like the pull cut I haven't yet gotten the hang of that one. You make it look easy :). Thanks for the video
Thank you!
Lots of practice.
I'll be covering it in my how to videos.
Excellent idea 👌
Thank you!
Very neat 👏👏👏👏
Thank you Vini!
Nice cute project! Well done 👍
Thank you!
I appreciate that!
I don’t think burning the lines added anything, otherwise very good!
Thank you!
Depending on the wood grain sometimes adding to it can actually take away from it.
Appreciate you watching!
You seem to make a lot of fire starters. 😊

So cute and practical! Awesome job! Can I ask how much you sell them for?
Thank you Heather!
I sold them for 10.00 each or 3 for 25.
I sold a lot of sets of 3.
@@RcWoodturning thanks Rus! I might have to add some of them to my sale table too
@@spiritwynd They are quick and easy to make and they were a big seller at my last show. Good luck.
Is that wood green?
I had it about a year and a half when I turned it. So it was pretty dry.
How much do you get for these?
$10.00
What speed would you turn this at?
I spin most of my projects between 800 to 1200. If it's out of balance start slower. Hope that helps.
Ahhhh a skew! 😨
One of my favorite tools.
How much do you get for them?
10.00 each or 3 for 25.00. I sold mostly sets of 3.
Thank you, Kind of what I was thinking.
@@dextereck8556 Ya. A Lot the people thought my prices were to low but I set my prices to make 30.00 an hour, so I'm happy with that.
@@RcWoodturning Well , I'm just wanting to break eaven and maybe a little more as I am retired and bored.
