Phil, i really enjoy your videos. I am an old guy of 73, getting back into wood turning. I like the fact that your stuff is all wood. No plastic/ epoxy. Just wood. I like your designs and I hope to be able to incorporate some of your ideas in my work. I'm collecting materials and tools currently and hope to be able to start turning soon.
I’m a Biker and I’ve been cutting wood with a scrollsaw for 23 years. My Biker group gave me the name Termite. I decided to get a wood Lathe. I bought a big Lathe a few years ago but I’ve never used it, I just bought a 10” x 18” wood Lathe at Christmas and I’m fixing to start turning wood. I enjoyed your video, I gave you a thumbs up and I subscribed. I’m gonna watch more of your videos and try to learn all I can. You done a Great Job keep the good work up.Awesome job
I really enjoy your channel. I've been turning for a while, but I'm a hack compared to you. Watching you has helped improve my skills. Thank you for that.
Phil you are so fun to watch and listen to. I'm so thrilled to be able to go back to older videos of yours. Im constantly learning from you. Thank you for inspiring us to try. ❤
@@PhilAndersonShadyAcresWoodshop I love the different grains in wood. You can’t fake what God has perfected. I’m amazed with everything you come up with. Thanks

I'm so glad I can go back and watch all your videos. Before watching you I wasn't a big fan of the natural edge but it has certainly grown on me and I don't mind turning them now. You always do a fantastic job!
@@PhilAndersonShadyAcresWoodshop I told Gary the other day that I girdled a huge Cherry tree with lots of really interesting parts that I am going to cut down this winter . Like Gary , I'll send you a challenging chuck if you want it . Happy turning Phil . PS

@@PhilAndersonShadyAcresWoodshop Can't remember if I told you but I'm "Duchess Rebekka"...got a new phone & couldn't sign in with my old YT account 🤔 so had to use my professional one.
I don’t always comment on your videos, but I do watch a lot of them, and like when I remember to. I love your style, your affability, and most of all the pieces you produce. As the big wheel turns, so do you. May you continue to do so, and stay safe. Good health to you and your family, and I hope your channel makes you as happy as it makes us. Cheers!
Wonderful bowl! Neighbors planted laurels about 8 years ago. They grow fast and make a nice privacy hedge. If I’m still here in another 30 years I’ll have to ask to salvage some if one has to come out!

The hedge laurel is a different beast,. This wood came from a European laurel tree which grew in Portland, Oregon.
Do you mean Umbellularia California often called California laurel or bay? Also called myrtewood!
no.
