I'm very new to wood turning and have found your videos inspiring mainly because, I cant afford to buy the expensive wood for turning then mess it up. You've shown me I can turn some interesting items by using small cheap wood pieces, thank you👍
Thank you! I appreciate that! I can't afford it either. I have to tell you I find more fun and joy turning what is considered trash into something beautiful and most of the time useful. It's not what you start with. It's what you make of it. Thanks for watching!
Looks like you are standing on the back side of the lathe, running in reverse. Looked at the controls at the left of the video and the motor is to your right. Another good video, BTW.
Yet another great idea! This may seem odd, but to me the red along the bottom of your thumbnail template makes it look like I have previously watched the video. This one was a very distinctive picture, but from the main screen here on YT we don't see how long ago the video was uploaded until we click on the thumbnail. Anywho... just a thought. Thanks for the uploads! Edit: never mind... I'm an idiot, I just didn't pay attention to the time since upload! LOL but still the template makes it look like it was previously viewed which can affect clicks when scrolling your channel page.
This project I used an old jam jar. I have a couple other videos with the same idea but with smaller jars. Those I got from Amazon. You can also use baby food jars. But make sure you buy stuff you like because you have to eat it to empty the jar. No exceptions!
Another stunning item from an old bit of wood. You are a true craftsman. I can't get enough of your videos.
Thank you! I appreciate that!
I'm glad you enjoy them!
I like that shear cut that took away all the turn end grain. 👌
That's a good technique to learn. It can save a lot of sanding.
You have some of the greatest ideas !! Nice work.
Thank you larry!
I try to keep things interesting.
Appreciate you watching!

Another great save from the fire stack. Well done!
Thank you Doug!

Thank you! I'm left handed so I work both sides of the lathe.
Good idea.
Thank you!
That’s really nice
Thank you Richard!

I adjusted the color, so hopefully it will be better.
Thanks for letting me know!
Perfekt! Super Idee!
Thank you!
That’s another nice piece. And we had ducks? music in the background as an added bonus 🌞
Thank you Ray!
They were instructing me so I get it right.

Looks like a dangerous way to mount the wood to the screw.
Ya, my lathe spins to fast for that.
Russ
What size jars and where did you [rder them from?
Thank you
John

What brand is your lathe? How long have you been turning on it?
It's a harbor freight. I've been using it around 4 years.
May I ask what polish you are using?
Friction polish. Made with shellac.
@@RcWoodturning thank you
