Sorry dude but 50 years of obesity, IBS & endless mental and gynaecological problems following a lifetime of attempted calorie restriction (starvation diets) landed me in a really bad way with prediabetes, the inability to walk or move from pain and obesity. It all disappeared and reversed with a low carb diet. I went from a crippled slug to a skinny athlete chopping wood all day and mowing mine and the neighbours lawns.
    50 YEARS OF HELL GONE.
We are being tortured with bad advice. 50 YEARS OF HELL.

@Zeus-rq5wn, I appreciate your comment. First, it is incredible that you completely turned your health around. The transformation you described is amazing! Second, I would agree that there is so much bad advice and information out there when it comes to improving health and reversing conditions like prediabetes and diabetes. I do not support starvation diets either, as those do not lead to health, but quite the opposite. As long as you are feeling incredible with what you are doing and there are no other problems with hormones (sex & thyroid) I am a fan of not fixing something if it is not broken. :) Unfortunately, I work with a lot of people who experienced initial improvements while following a low-carb diet but started to have other health issues, which is why I share the information I share.

Thanks for the info. I Would be interested in a video on optimal levels of protein for bone health. Some people say high but others say there are studies showing that too much protein, particularly animal protein causes calcium to leach from your bones.

      Hello Lynn,
That is a really great topic!
I did create a video discussing an optimal amount of protein. Here is the link: th-cam.com/video/twFqiUIJ6zg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CL4pab0J362ltvOf
I briefly touched on protein being essential for optimizing bone health and bone mineral density and that the studies indicating protein being bad for bones because of more calcium in the urine is due to the fact that protein enhances calcium absorption and utilization. Therefore, whatever is not needed can be excreted in the urine. :) There is good data that those with higher protein intakes have greater bone mineral density.

Would also be interested in what you think about various supplements and meds for lowering blood sugar, including lipoid acid, Berbine, Metformin, betaglucans , etc.

Hey @chunliyu6815, I referenced a variety of research to make my case for these carbohydrates over others.

If your telling diabetics to eat potatoes and dried fruit you don't know what your talking about.

Hey @TonyBagofdoughnuts, as I mentioned in the video, tubers (which include potatoes), squashes, and fruits are quite nutritious sources of carbohydrates and provide the body with the glucose it needs. Now, depending on where someone is with their blood sugar health, you may need to reduce the portion of carbohydrates and ensure you are having it with sufficient protein, fat, and non-starchy vegetables while assessing tolerance. Lastly, you want to ensure you are not eating foods that impair your cells' ability to use or oxidize glucose. Carbohydrates are not the issue in diabetes, the issue is your cells cannot use the glucose and turn it into energy. Avoiding carbohydrates doesn't get to the root of the issue. Please feel free to share a more constructive critique of my stance or video versus simply saying I don't know what I am talking about. I wish you well!

@@JeremiahFariasRDN the root of the issue is that blood sugar spikes do Untold damage to every cell in your body if you continue to eat carbohydrates and Spike your blood glucose you will end up blind on dialysis or with your feet chopped off. The advice that you're giving to diabetics is eat the very foods that cause sugar spikes. How is that solving the problem

@@TonyBagofdoughnuts I appreciate your response! Blood sugar spikes are a symptom of a larger problem. I 100% agree that blood sugar spikes are problematic. That is why I created a video highlighting why they are problematic, and how to avoid them. It doesn't have to do with avoiding carbohydrates though. Again, avoiding carbohydrates doesn't address the problem of why you are experiencing spikes in blood sugar and why someone cannot oxidize glucose in the cell. Diabetics' blood sugar levels are not chronically elevated because of the carbohydrates they are eating. They wake up with high fasting blood sugar because their liver is insulin-resistant and churning out glucose at a high rate due to glucagon, cortisol, and adrenaline.
