Additional information:
On that last entry, the moment I heard about Jesus being hung from a rope noose, I recognised what SCP it was referring to.
That specific point is connected to SCP-2221, an anomalous End User License Agreement which causes people to develop behavioural changes once they agree to it (often without realising it, as it is subtly hidden within the giant wall of text that is the EULA). Said behavioural changes are often tied to extreme religious and punitive justice, as well as a particular focus on hanging at religious art. Safe to say then at this anomaly has been around for much longer than computers...
As for the part on the "King, Clown and Consul" at that same section, I am less familiar with this one, but it is linked to SCP-2732. However, its unofficial SCP name is《缢王本纪》, which translates to The Book of the Hanged King". Between that name and several choice descriptions (e.g. "The Kingdom of Ajia") and its page tags, it is clearly referencing the Kingdom of Alagadda.
Also, Bartholomew's flayed skin also is twisted into a noose, so two of the paintings
It's also worth noting that, in addition to the Hanged King, the article also has tags for the Scarlet King and Bobble the Clown.(Bobble must be the jester in the last painting, and the Scarlet King is the red horseman)
@@kevlonk I think the jester is a reference to the Black Lord, Wearer of the Anguished Mask, who once was the Hanged King's jester and was later exiled to "some forgotten backwater of dimension", thus becoming SCP-035.
@@Pustekuchenstueck That is a possibility, except the author deliberately put the Bobble the Clown tag in there, and the jester is depicted as having a bunch of children following it (and Bobble has a following of brainwashed children)

The most horrifying Renaissance art is pieces that constantly change artist, thus rendering any study for art history courses totally useless.

Art History student here... you are correct. Paintings and sculptures are not that interesting.
Other art history student here! Either you're all insane, or I'm insane. Probably me, because I think art is the most interesting shit. Sadly, it's often not taught well, so you leave without learning all the fascinating things. Even the most boring artwork can become endlessly fascinating if you know what to look for. Also, when gallery curation is boringly pretentious, it removes a lot of the raw emotions that make the works meaningful. I guess I'm saying this, because: this means this SCP is awesome. Anything that can give someone a new perspective on art is super valuable, kind of making it a work of art too.

This SCP seems interesting.
This was a peculiar combination of flavors, I am still trying to process the combination. Each piece of art revealed something horrifying, informing, or head fucky to one degree or another. I enjoyed this narration. It was interesting to hear all the art was gathered together, which made me imagine that sort of gallery - which is a whole different sort of potential sensory rollercoaster... xD Thanks! This was a lot of fun.

Maybe the reason why there's more fingers is because the 2 parties tried to fish the fingers out of the statues mouth/stomach by prying it open and subsequently lost more in the rescue attempt.

I go through the recording meticulously in post and edit them out. In my experience there's no easy way to get rid of them other than drinking lots of water before hand.

I feel like the Mercy Stoup is a masterclass in "you need to know to know" when it comes to the goal of the artist.
For those who aren't aware of how being Sainted in Catholicism works, one of the things that needs to happen is a miracle which can be attributed to you after you die. In the faith, this is seen as a sign that someone is indeed in heaven (which is all that being a Saint really means, that the church has acknowledged an individual is 100% in heaven without doubt).
I like the idea that the artist made the attempt to sort of subvert that process by cheating. They made an object which would turn holy water to blood, only after their death, thus fulfilling the miracle requirement. But they couldn't get it *quite* right, so it turned out to be horse blood. Better luck next time, I guess, lol.
