    This is still my favorite Batman story. Knightfall used all of Batman's rogues, introduced us to Bane. It also showed how Batman's obsession with fighting crime destroyed him. He was so tired and his enemies took advantage of that.

    Since I'm here early, What makes Knight Fall is one one of the stories that is a textbook example of "What makes Batman human". Some people just see Batman as a "rich guy who had there parents die". But I argue Knight Fall shows what makes Batman..Batman. A hard working confident hero who's only weakness is there humanity. Batman isn't an alien from a dying world. He isnt an invisible guardian of truth, he's just a talented man.

    "Your problems don't matter. You don't matter. Only Gotham matters." Those sentences really get to the heart of #Batman's mission. When Thomas and Martha were murdered, Bruce believed he could never again be happy, and he put aside focus on his own problems to focus on those of his city, to ensure its other citizens could be happy even if he could not. In Mask of the Phantasm, Bruce says he didn't count on being happy. Suddenly, it wasn't just Gotham that mattered. Andrea mattered. He mattered.

    I'm going to be honest: I wasn't a big fan of the entire Knightfall saga for being convoluted the first time I read it. But now, the more I read it, the more I'm loving it, because of not just how well-crafted it was, but also because it all shows us what Batman is actually about. I would place the whole trilogy among my Top 3 (including Batman: Ego and Detective Comics 457).

    Mr. Rouges actually said in his video on Vengance of Bane that it seems like new Ultimate Foe's are introduced every decade.
    40's - The Joker
    60's - The Outsider
    70's - Ra's Al Ghul
    80's - Killer Croc
    90's - Bane
    2000's - Hush
    2010's - The Court of Owls
    Not sure what is currently going on for the 20's in that Catagory. I wonder who you would consider to be the Ultimate Villain for 1939, and 50's.

    • @SalazarKnight
      @SalazarKnight  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Arch nemesis are ideas that need to be constantly updating, so it makes sense to have new villains every decade or so.
      1939 was only one year of Batman history and there wasn't enough time for arch villains. The closest thing would be Hugo Strange and even that is a stretch.
      In the 1950s, the ideas of supervillains was abandoned in favor of silly fantasy for kids. In that case the closest thing to an arch- nemy was actually Bat-Mite. Not an actual villain, but the most consistent foil in the Batman comics of the 50s.

Was secretly working behind their backs and eventually double crosses them to help Batman escape a trap. Come on he's a fellow Batman Fan he wouldn't really want to kill him.
