I remember seeing this technique when you first did it... it's gorgeous - even the 'horror-fly'🤣. I don't have chipboard or dies that I think will cut it. Going to try a few layers of 300gsm cardstock stacked and glued together. I'm thinking mixed metallic embossing powder on Christmas trees.
Thanks Tracey. If you can cut cereal boxes, just paint white and try that !! The only problem with glueing card together is the heat can re melt the glue and then it comes undone, but give it a go on a small piece, you may have better glue than me 😂😂🥰🥰🥰
Beautiful Butterflies 🦋🦋 and the leftovers I remember when you showed us about a year ago. Love, love, love the butterflies. So beautiful. I look forward to your videos. Don’t care how long they are. So much fun. The horror movie butterfly gave me an idea for someone not having a great day in a relatable way. Sometimes I describe myself on those kind of days as “feeling like I have been dragged through a rose bush backwards” I always makes me laugh and others around me. When I saw the butterfly I thought of that saying and laughed. 😂😂
🥰🥰 we often say (when you’re looking rough) you look like you’ve been dragged through a hedge backwards 😂😂😂😂

How does the embossing powder stick without versa mark?
Hi Barbara, embossing powder only uses inks like versa mark when you’re using stamps, if you just sprinkle embossing powder on to card stock randomly (no versa mark) and heat from underneath then it will melt on to the card, when I do it onto chipboard/Cardstock I don’t use any versa mark as pouncing it adheres it to the chipboard. I hope that all makes sense, I’m rubbish at explaining verbally 🙈🙈🙈🥰🥰🥰

I would cut the butterfly out again in a light pink shimmer cardstock and put that underneath your secondary butterfly! That would be so gorgeous!!!! 🤩

Impressive, Marion! And in 8 minutes,too! I couldn’t have done that! But you are so funny, as well as creative! Just wondering two things: 1. Why not use embossing ink?; and 2. Why not fussy cut around the second generation butterflies and leave them on the baking paper? Gratefully

How do you determine whether you are using the high or low setting on your heat gun? Is there a specific technique that is better using a high or low heat with the heat gun?
Hi Lynn, I usually always use the high setting, if it’s too fierce I just move it away a bit. If I’m heating from the top and using ultra high powders then I may go in low at first then change to high once it’s got a melt going. When I first got it I used the lower setting then quickly realised how fast the higher setting was and haven’t looked back since 😂🥰🥰🥰

I wonder if the glass mat will work well. I cant remember what i usually emboss on lol. Gina K ia in a league of her own! I gotta say though I like your vids as much as hers. I wouldn’t use a glass mat, use a non stick craft mat, not paper like me 😂😂😂 Gina K is fab, I really admire her !! We call it baking paper and I think it’s called parchment paper across the pond. 🥰🥰🥰 noted 😜😜😜

No it’s just plain, the pouncing causes it to ‘stick’ to the chipboard 🥰🥰🥰

No versa nark first?, how does it stick?
It’s because I’m ‘pushing’ it into the chipboard and it melts on to it, if you heat from underneath on Cardstock you don’t need any embossing ink either, the heat will make it melt and it will adhere to the card. I hope that helps 🥰🥰🥰

Just parchment paper Denise, if you use wax paper it will melt off 😊😊😊

L9ve this card and technique! You are right...most of the others are not truly 5-minute cards. I love Gina K's, but they are 5-minute VIDEOS not 5-minute cards. There aren't many cards you can do, from complete scratch, in actually 5 minutes. The shorter videos can still be good, though, because they can focus on a particular part of the card as opposed to the more basic parts like cutting bases and so on. ALLLLL that to say, never you mind about not quite hitting the clock! Great video and great card! ❤❤❤

Hi. Great video and lovely cards, thank you for sharing this. I think perhaps the Gina K 5 minute cards videos is just the length of time the video runs for rather than the amount of time it takes to make the card, I could be wrong but that's my take on it so I reckon you did incredibly well with this one. I still haven't plucked up the courage to try your amazing pouncing technique but that may be due to not having a crafting heat gun as I just use my other half's electronics version. 😂. Also thanks for the heads up about the bigs dies ability to cut a more heavy duty card and the like, I hadn't realised that was a possibility with them. Have a good night! 😊

She’s done some in 3 minutes… I’m in awe 😂😂 try hubby’s tool, I’ve used a paint stripper before now, in an emergency, but it’s mega hot so I had to work Incredibly quickly, I wouldn’t recommend 😂😂!! If you die cut another butterfly and coloured it with red ink, maybe you could rescue your horror movie butterfly by sticking it to the red die cut. It would maybe give it the definition it needs. I hate to have waste 😊

I have wanted to ask you this forever! When you do a plain card front like these beautiful cards, have you ever used the paper piercing dies that leave little teeny holes in a pattern? The are dirs and I have a lot of them. I love white space but it has to have texture of some sort. Like an embossing folder type thing it adds texture without bulk at all.
I do have some, yes, sometimes I like a little bit of texture but a lot of the time I love pure white space 🥰🥰🥰
@@marionemberson it was just something I’d never seen you use and made me wonder if you had any. And since we have so many of the same things. I think they’re just like embossing folders really. They add while not taking away.

I just replaced my old heat tool with a Wow heat tool. My old one only had one setting. I've not gotten to play with the new one much.
