I'm SO glad you shared this! When I have a fail it helps me to know even the Pro's have them. Then I don't get so down on myself.
Thanks Julie, I have so many failures 😂😂🥰🥰🥰
But unless you try, you don’t know how to use it. 😊
Thanks for the laughs Marion - always enjoy your videos even the "failures" Loved the end result.
Glad you enjoyed it, I saved myself 😂😂🥰🥰🥰
I love that you're willing to share your fails as well as your successful techniques. I always look forward to your videos. You are a breath of fresh air!
Thank you so much! Glad you like them 🥰🥰🥰
You are great Marion I love that you are not one of these professionals who will not share or admit to things not going to plan really is so refreshing!
I appreciate that Fiona, I’m so far from perfect I often wonder how I got here 😂😂😂😂🥰🥰🥰
No you didn't fail you learned, well that's what I tell myself anyway 😂 Great to see you in your "lab" again - fun times and brilliant to watch and listen to you - love it. You know everybody that watches will be trying to work this one out 🤣 Great video, thanks Marion and have a beautiful day xx
Thanks Mandy, I do love a try 😂😂 I will suss it and do it properly 🥰🥰🥰
Marion, I can honestly say you crack me up, you are so funny. You definitely make it look fun making a mess but I can tell you simply just enjoy the process. It’s been a very long time since I spoke to you last, I hope you are keeping well and that Barbie is ok too. Thank you for sharing, take care, Michaela xx
Oh hello lovely 🥰🥰 we’re all good thank you, I hope alls well with you, I’m so glad your enjoy the videos, I think crafting is what keeps us all sane, even if it is a mess 😂😂🥰🥰🥰
You are so right about that Marion, I love to craft when I’m able to, when the pain isn’t too bad 😊x
I like the paint on the card. The stamped image looks perfect for that kind of background. You never know what you'll end up with until you try it! I enjoyed watching your mess, Marion!
Thanks so much! 🥰🥰🥰
Your videos are so fun, especially when you male a mistake. Have me laughing out loud. Thanks. Ang
Glad you like them Ang, thanks for being here 🥰🥰🥰
Try to use the shave cream technique, maybe that works better than water 🤔 I love the stamped image it's artsy ❤
Yes, I keep forgetting that one 🥰🥰🥰
There must be a special medium to pour the inks into that make them float. Thanks for sharing that so that we don't do it!! I chuckled along with you and I did love the result you ended up with. ❤
Thanks, I’m learning it’s called Alum, I’m searching 😂😂🥰🥰🥰
Thanks for the demo. Not everything works, but we don't know until we try. I love these moments spent with you. You make me smile and boost my confidence by showing that even the best aren't perfect. Thanks again.
You’re welcome Candy, I’m sooooo not perfect, it doesn’t bother me that I make a mistake as that’s where I learn, well, sometimes 😂😂🥰🥰🥰
When we were taught to do that idea, we used shaving foam
Yes, I always forget about the shaving foam tech 🫣🫣🥰🥰🥰
Thanks for sharing. Love your openness to share when you are trying for the first time. ❤
Thanks so much for watching! 🥰🥰🥰
Your birthday card is fabulous! As for the first technique, thank goodness you left Raynbow's link for us 🤣🤣 You are too funny!!!
😂😂😂 at you could see how it’s really done, she’s amazing 🥰🥰🥰
I think the cornflour changes the viscosity of the water, in other words makes it thick enough for the inks to sit on the surface and not sink. Try changing the ratio of water to cornflour until you get a thicker mixture almost like a custard texture.
Ahhh thank you so much, I’ll give it a go 🤗🤗🤗
If you were trying to do paper marbling, which it seems is what Raynbow Crow does, it seems you were using all different supplies. She uses the Jacquard Marbling paint and carrageenan.
I was, but I didn’t have that so thought I’d try with the other paints… FAIL 😂😂😂 🥰🥰
Turned out good in the end thanks for sharing x
Thanks so much 🥰🥰🥰
I love Lumiere paints! Take a plain white paper napkin and pull it apart so you only have one ply. Glue it to a piece of aluminum foil that you have crinkled and then flattened. Use black paint to cover the entire piece. Allow it to dry, then randomly sponge on Lumiere paints. I believe it’s calked black pearl technique. I’ve also used same with white paint and the Lumieres. Gorgeous backgrounds. Wish I could show you a picture! Give it a try!
Oh that sounds Lucy, do I crinkle the foil before I put the tissue on ? It sounds very similar the my alcohol ink technique with embossing folders 🥰🥰🥰
Just love your videos! Seriously, I always learn something new from you.
I appreciate that! Just don’t repeat this one 😂😂😂😂🥰🥰
You are so funny, I live to watch when you do something and it doesn’t come out like you thought it would, but you got something in the end.
I’ll always give things a try and yes, I’m so glad I got something lovely in the end 😂😂🥰🥰🥰
I think you need to heat up the water and cornflour to thicken it (like gravy) then cool it. That will also make it more transparent.
Ahh, I just did the cornflour with cold water, thank you 🥰🥰
Thanks Marion, love to hear you laugh. When using a brayer to make a background , I was taught to go up and down or side to side, never at an angle. Just a thought. Pewter was pretty stamped.
Thanks Debbie, ohhh I’ve never thought of the brayer position 🧐🧐 the pewter was lovely 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you for the chuckles!
You’re so welcome 🥰🥰🥰
Loved your video I love the way you can laugh at yourself sound a very down to earth lady ieep making us smile
I am very down to earth Myra, may be too down to earth 😂😂😂🥰🥰🥰
Instead of water, use shaving cream. It works so incredibly!
I always forget about shaving cream 🤦♀️🤦♀️ thank you 🤗🤗
Drop the cardstock in the water. Then drop the paint on top of it, swirl. Let it settle. Pick it up. Spray paint sits on top of the water like you want so you can dip it. Hydro dip.
I’m thinking swirl the paints in the water then scoop the cardstock underneath the paint from one end of the tray to the other ,might need to use tweezers .
I think the paint is too heavy as it just sunk straight away, I could try it with spray paints 😜😜🥰🥰🥰
I think the paint is too heavy as it just sunk straight away, I tried swirling but it was breaking up in blobs, I definitely read somewhere that you can use these paints for marbling so I’m not giving up 😂😂🥰🥰🥰
Marion, I love watching you experiment, even if it's an 'epic fail 'LOL Which, I don't think it was... I love the background and card that you made with it! I wonder if you were to mix the paints with oil or thin them out somehow that then they would float on the water. 🤔 🇺🇸
Ohh that’s an idea, thank you 🥰🥰🥰
Interesting product..thanks
It really is! And so shimmery Paula 🥰🥰🥰
Nail polish works Marion 😮
Fab ! Thanks so much 🤗🤗
Very effective! 🤣🤣Brilliant!
Thanks so much 😂😂😂🥰🥰
That was pretty epic 😉😂 It’s a coincidence that I just got back from UK holiday where I spent a lot of time crafting with my 5 yr old granddaughter, who happened to get a marbling kit for a birthday present - which included a powder (carrageenan) to thicken the water. It’s derived from seaweed. We had to wait till next day to use it 🙄 but well worth the wait. Thanks for sharing 🤩
Ahhh thank you, maybe I was too impatient. I hope you had a fantastic holiday 🥰🥰
Love the fails. You are so funny. Have you tried looking for her on TH-cam?
I did put links in the actual video, I’ve only watched her on Instagram and they’re usually reels that go fast, but I will watch some of her you tubes 🥰🥰🥰
Lol marion the front of package says instructions inside lol maybe next time. they have their own binders so add with water and make misters
Oh my gosh, I didn’t see that and I’m always telling Ricky off for not reading instructions 🫣🫣😂😂 I’ll have a read, thanks 🥰🥰🥰
I don't consider this a fail. You just learned that you just have to use your imgination and push to experiment. I didn't know anything of the little hamburger cooker till I saw you use it. It was the first time I saw one of your vids, so I subbed. Can't go wrong in my eyes.
Thanks so much Catherine and thanks for the sub, I really appreciate that 🥰🥰🥰
You make my day! Never seen the inks or whatever they are. Lol
I’m glad you enjoyed it Judy, thanks for watching 🥰🥰🥰
I love when you experiment. I had a look at the person’s video that inspired you. She mixes up her sizing solution of caregeenan & warm water the night before in a bucket then covers it. Pours it in her pan the next day.
Ahh I didn’t see that, obviously 😂😂😂😂, thank you 🥰🥰🥰
@@marionemberson we have to help our crafty friends. I think just water works with alcohol inks & ink pad reinkers. I haven't been brave to add this to my want to try list. I will live through you trying them for me. 🤣
I like the final results!
I was really happy it wasn’t all a waste of time 😂😂😂🥰🥰
You can use nail polish in water to marble and its permanent
I’ve never tried that, thank you 🥰🥰🥰
Maybe alcohol inks work. They will sit on top of the water longer 😊
Yes, I’ve done this and got a video in my alcohol inks playlist, I just wanted to try with these paints as they were such pretty colours and all shimmery, I will suss it 🧐🥰🥰🥰
This works with nail polish
I need to get me some cheap polish 😂😂🥰🥰🥰
Another fab video definitely NOT naff 😂. Thanks for showing the boo-boos along with the successes xx
Awww thanks so much 🥰🥰🥰
Thinking you need to use alcohol ink
I’ve done a previous video using the alcohol inks, I just wanted to try these as I’d read it was possible 🥴🥴😂🥰🥰🥰
One of the crafts i do is paint pouring, i use this product (with other chemicals) to get shiny colors that add effect. I have also used like a misters for card fronts added with water and shake up
Oh I love paint pouring, again I’m not great but it’s so lovely, I will try them in misters, thanks 🥰🥰🥰
Those lumiere paints are good for stamping on fabric. They have binder so you could make sprays with them and only add water.
Thanks for your video. You have the best laugh! 😃
Thanks so much, I didn’t realise they had a binder in them 🙋♀️🥰🥰🥰
You're adorable!! Thnx for trying things out!!
You are so welcome Susan 🥰🥰🥰
Marion, I am jealous that you're able to find jacquard on sale. They are a great ink, and you can use it to stamp. BTW, Stacey Park has a line of ink pads from Jacquard. The re inker are as useful as the stamp pads themselves.
I think I got lucky 🤗🤗 I saw her pads, I’m a bit of a stickler for Catherine Poolers pads and refills, if I could afford it I’d have all the pads from all the companies 😂😂😂🥰🥰🥰
I didn't see the video you mentioned, but I have done the technique that I believe you were describing with alcohol inks, they float on the water and you draw the card down, through, and up out of the water. Hope you will try this again with alcohol inks, I know you will love it!
Thanks Cheryl, I have done that, I have a video on my alcohol ink playlist, I think, in that video I then tried Catherine poolers re inkers, dye based, but the best result was using acetate with it… oh my 🩷🩷🩷🥰🥰
The card with the brayer is beautiful ❤️. I just love your laugh, you are so entertaining!
Thank you so much, so glad you like them 🥰🥰🥰
Milk might work. I use food coloring in milk and it swirls great. I love the shaving cream method though. Put shaving vream in you tin and drop reinkers or food color. Use a toothpick to swirl. Put the watercolor paper down to touch the shaving cream. Remove the cream with a scraping tool.
Ohhh interesting, thank you. Yes, I always forget about the shaving cream method 🥴🥴🥴🥰🥰🥰
Fab demo as always. Also works with spray paint 😊 Is the pewter tacky for awhile Marion, if so was thinking laying some foils over the top so it sticks to it, like you can do with alcohol inks. Easy way to open those darn packs without scraping your skin off is to use a can opener! 😁 xx
Thanks Bea, I think it may have been, but when I touched it it was dry, i hate that packaging and as I get older it gets harder, especially toilet the fancy toilet bock thingies 😂😂😂🥰🥰🥰
I love your videos….thx so much for sharing!!!
You are so welcome! Thanks for being here 🥰🥰
I have these. I’ve used them on wood and I’ve used them on t shirts for my grand kids . I need to get them out and play lol
They are gorgeous aren’t they 🥰🥰🥰
I used to do a technique similar to this with shave cream and reinkers.
I should have stuck to that 😂😂😂🥰🥰
She uses something in the water called alum i think then the paint floats or carageen. No idea what it is or where from.
Ahhh thank you, not my cheap cornflower 😂😂😂🥰🥰🥰
The card was cute! Definitely not a failure
Thanks so much! 🤗🤗
Love watching you Marion . It might work with nail varnish .might be able to get some cheap one from pound shop x x x x
Great idea, as the only varnishes I have are the gel ones 🥰🥰🥰
Great video….made me laugh out loud. When you have watched her videos, will you try again if you work out where it went wrong?
Thank you, yes, I’ve now seen she uses a thing call Alum, whatever that is, and she probably uses proper marbling paints 😂😂😂🥰🥰
@@marionemberson Alum is a chemical compound of aluminium in various forms. It helps produce the wonderful coloured sands in Alum Bay on the west coast of the Isle of Wight.
You are just so much fun!!! ♥️
Thank you 🥰🥰🥰
Even your failures are fun!
Awww thank you 🥰🥰🥰
Always wonderful entertainment. No matter the project!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it 🥰🥰🥰
Bravo Marion, you deserve credit for trying ! That's how we make discoveries and improve. Keep up the good work ! And we learn with you. Thanks 😊
Thank you, I will 🥰🥰🥰
Well you won't know if you don't try!! I appreciate you sharing !! It does help!!
Exactly Michele, it’s what my mum always says, so…. I’m a trier 😂😂😂🥰🥰🥰
Thank you for another entertaining video... Loved the end result..
Glad you enjoyed it Lisa 🥰🥰🥰
Even though you call them fails they are inspiring thank you for sharing ❤
You are so welcome 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks for the video! Not all works! But it was fun watching u try it out!!
Glad you enjoyed it Annie 🥰🥰🥰
So funny Marion. I just love your demos but they are definitely not on my wish list 😂
😂😂😂 happy to be your tester 😂🥰🥰🥰
You need a "size" like carragheen.
I’ve never even heard of that before this video 😂😂, I will check it out 🥰🥰🥰
Oooh dear - it did not sit on the water - wasn't it suppose to do that🤔 - well what do I know as stamping, inking I've yet to master that. 😂😂Thanks Marion❤
Well, I thought so, but obviously not 😂😂 there’s a few things I’ve learned here 😂😂🥰🥰🥰
@@marionemberson 😂😂
