You can just stamp with any ink pad and you don't need to also stamp with the VersaMark pad. The clear embossing powder will stick to any ink, it doesn't need to be embossing ink.
@@TheRowdyRavenNC That's why I keep reinkers handy. I also use the Ranger ink refresher spray. I know some ladies but just spray water onto their ink pads.
Thank you for this posting. Many people have commented that you don't need the Versamark, this is indeed the case if you are using a Pigment ink which is slower drying, if using a dye based ink then this method is a good idea. Cornflower, baby powder or an anti static bag brushed over your cardstock will give you a clean finish without stay bits of embossing power.
No matter how careful I am with wiping the stamp off, I wind up with ink on my versamark pad - so I have 2 - and marked clearly “DIRTY” and “CLEAN” so I don’t confuse the two!
as an added idea: you can stamp again with another layer of versamark and emboss for a thicker look, or if you are quick you can re-dip into the clear powder while the embossing is still hot. I did this method with some chipboard letters and numbers for a trifold I made for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary, embossing seven times, and it looked amazing!
Great tip... another method.... I use only my ink without the versamark...so I stamp with the color I want, then put it directly in the extra fine embossing powder and heat..vola. I get the same effect as you do but I skip the versamark...works for me....
The only way it would work with glitter is if you stamped with glue…and I don’t think that would be good for your stamps. I’ll check into this and see if there’s a way to make glitter work…. Thanks for watching!
Great tip and very much appreciated. I’ve been trying to find where to buy more powder colors. Since I can’t find any in the stores around where I’m located this was much needed. ❤❤
That's really great. Very nice clean result for a single stamped image. However, if you then want to add any ink to the rest of the surface, any stray specks of embossing are going to show up as it acts as a resist.
Hi Diann, new subscriber here. I love this hack, I’ve been using it for several years now. I agree, it’s a game changer! Looking forward to upcoming videos.
I think it depends on the climate where you live. I’m in Arizona and I find that no matter how prepped I have my powder, water based inks dry too quickly to achieve consistent coverage and blow off the paper unless heating only from the opposite side.
Use the Versamark first, don't need to wipe the stamp. At least I never have in 20 years. Don't throw away your powders, give them away to a viewer. Several comments say ppl need them. No plastic spoon, conducts static!
Once you stamp with your color try dipping it in the embossing powder without stamping with the versa mark. It should work, it work with the inks I use anyway.
Jesus Becky now that’s just rude. Many crafters may not know the hack and will appreciate the time taken to post it. Women should be supporting one another not finding fault. Bring your manners next time.
I’m sorry this video wasn’t valuable to you, but many new crafters and card makers do not. Perhaps this video has more value for them. Thanks for watching anyway?

Thanks for the tip! I think it depends on where you are located. Some of my inks dry too fast for adding embossing powder!

I’ve used it with dye inks which dry the fastest.

I love this technique! I use clear and have always been less than thrilled with the results. Using a stamp positioner is a real game changer. TFS!

Depending on the type of ink you use, you can skip the embossing ink.
