Mattie Montgomery was the lead singer, well, screamer lol. He now pastors a church in Johnson City, TN called the Altar. He's in my neck of the woods.

I've seen this band more times than any other. Matty eventually remembered me, im atheist and even i love For Today, if one thing would make me feel close to a God this band would be it. The power and energy they carry is so intense

I have been lurking in the comments waiting for For Today since I originally hit that Subscribe button. You SERIOUSLY need to check out their song "Break The Silence". The lyrics and message are incredible.
I love this song and I miss them. My band had the opportunity to open for them in 2010 when they were playing the tour Scream the Prayer and they were so intense and awesome
My oldest son went to school with the two brothers. Literally small town guys. Both very grounded and extremely talented.

Loved this band they were one of my favorites especially the first 2 albums. I was at their farewell tour when they came to my town knew how to put on a show & minister to those who would never have been inside a traditional church building.

Easily one of my top five by for today, and probably the best song to live by daily. I use these lyrics as encouragement to fellow believers who see to be down about current events. How easy it is to forget that we have an amazing reward waiting for us in eternity.
Mattie Montgomery spoke about this song @ Liberty University Convocation. He said somebody asked him what he thought the biggest problem in the world was and his answer was fear cuz it holds us back. He wanted to make a song saying, "we will not be afraid" as a rallying cry. I actually found out bout this band from the Christian rapper KBs song "I Believe ft. Mattie from For Today". Break the Cycle and The Advocate are my personal favorite songs of theirs.

Their reaction to this video is exactly how I felt when I discovered this song and band! I was a secular metal head before being saved. Since finding jesus, I've learned a lot of metal is negative. I listen to very few metal songs now, but this bad gives me my metal fix, all while glorifying God. It's my absolute favorite song. I wish they had made more music, but I understand we all get older and want to do other things. I pray they at some point down the line make acoustic albums of their old stuff.

Man I really needed this. Was in the hospital for 17 days for a medical condition and when I came out I heard my mom past away. I was scared I wouldn’t be the same after this, but God is always there and we shouldn’t be afraid of what’s going to happen in the future.
I only had a chance to see them live once, it was on their farewell tour but dang do they put on an amazing show and Mattie is so on fire for Christ. Such a cool dude wish I could see them live again

Mattie is one of the best human beings I have ever met. There were a lot of Charlatans at this point in time in Metalcore and he truly walked the walk. He would never boast of it but I saw him save so many people after shows or on Warped Tour. Enjoy they’re catalog, such strong Christian messages it was amazing for me as a young man coming of age in an age of sin. Bless you guys

If I recall correctly this dude was pretty serious about his faith. ALLEGEDLY a condition for joining the band was that they had to do a daily bible study session together. But man I'm not typically a fan of music that's all harsh vocals, but these guys are fantastic. I'm glad the guitarist had more and more clean vocals later on he has a solid voice. Their last album Wake was amazing, the song Two Brothers about Cain and Abel is still one of my favorite songs today. They also have an acoustic version of this song Fearless that's sung by the clean vocalist that I personally I like more, but this is still a top 10 out of 10 song.

We had a difficult meeting of what ministry will look like for our youth group, but watching For Today which I remember came out in high school, God is in control, he can take all my worries and anxiety and I can find peace In him being in control!!! First concert I ever went to For Today was headlining it, I waited for half an hour after the show for the band to come out of the back room to catch mattie to ask if he could do a little happy birthday video for my younger brother who's a big fan and he happily obliged, made my brothers year~

Dang, you should have added the intro track “The King” it includes a bunch of famous sermons and ends with Psalm 56:11 “I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?” Which leads into this song. Gives me chills.
