I put careful thought into buying a motorbike after decades of not riding and I settled on an automatic for many reasons. I don't regret my purchase one bit after years of owning this bike.
@@dmac9954 70 is no age. My dad is almost 80 and does every week good 300km on his 1000cc BMW. Wish you may more years of good and safe riding! Regards from Germany
Scooters are just very underrated in the US. I have a BV 400 and she's been on 600 mile trips. Storage, MPG, comfort and simplicity. I'm 59 and started riding at 54 so I wanted a Motorcycle, got a Speed 400. Nice and simple stable.🤙
I have a red one, 2023 model and at this point, it's like it part of my own body it's so easy to ride and get around. I just set my Google Maps to avoid highways and I can get around everywhere pretty easily. Being retired and not having to rush makes taking the surface streets and backroads very calming. I rode motorcycles for about 40 years and gave it up after too many near death experiences. On this, I have my nerve back. Just one close call but the brakes are ABS on this and it stops very rapidly and I avoided the "guy turning left doesn't see motorcycle coming straight" collision. Got to get that Corbin seat for more comfort. As you have said before, it can go freeway no problem - mine tops out at 67 mph exactly like yours. The scooter does everything for you the motorcycle did. I'm not going on the long rides anymore, just enjoying the scooter. Everyone feels comfortable coming up to me asking about the scooter and the mileage and the cost. Like you, I spent a little more for the Honda quality. It's a conversation starter for sure.
Couldn't have said it better myself! Thanks Dave. I constantly anticipate people not seeing me and my eyes are focused on their tires for the slightest movement. You must have Eagle eyes at all times when riding.
@@chriskelly509 Everybody likes it. Every time I fuel up, someone comes up to me to talk about it. Just bought some heated gloves so I can ride on cool days or cool early mornings in the summer.
@@SunshineDave I would love for you to put a video up of your bike.. I just bought my 2023 adv 150 this past summer.. I’m 58 and I’ve been riding off and on since 2010 .. I always wanted a Honda scooter and finally have one., I love it
I'm 46 and just recently bought a '24 Honda PCX and I'm in love. The PCX is pretty similar to the ADV but more street. I wish I'd gotten one years ago.
I wanted a white PCX, but couldn't find one anywhere. So a dealer got 3 ADV150s and I opted for one of those. Yes, very similar bikes and love them both!
@@TrekopolisI wanted a white PCX as well, didn’t care for the satin gray. I lucked out finding a new 2022 at a dealer this past February and snagged it. I absolutely love it! Such a chill machine to ride without clutching and shifting (I have two HD’s as well). I added a tall National Cycle shield for comfort and a SHAD top case for hauling groceries and holding my helmet when parked. I even did a 190 mile day trip on it comfortably, with the exception of my butt being sore. I have a couple seat pads from Amazon that help out some in that regard.
Nooooo waaayyyyy. When you got off that roundabout at 11:28 I was like “that spot looks very familiar” not gonna dox your location but you definitely have a neighbor in H-town. I’m literally flabbergasted😂
I'm flabbergasted people actually watch these videos! Who knew? Just riding a bike sharing my experience turned into quite a fun little hobby. Thanks neighbor!
I just got a 2025 Grabber Blue adv160 about 500 miles ago and it's a relaxing way to see the country scenery I just cruise around 25 -45 nice and easy. It's really hard to beat . I have a seat cushion and a Puig windshield and now it's way better to ride . Thanks for your cool videos. 👍
I took my 150 adv out to Manayunk right outside Philadelphia there are some crazy hills and beautiful winding roads. I thought to myself there is no way this little 150cc is going to make it up these hills. Boy was I wrong this thing really impressed me, I just never slowed down, not having to shift was incredible just throttle and go. Couldn't stop smiling. It has 600 miles now and it's beginning to show it's true colors. And the tires Honda choose to put on this machine stick to the road really well, and the tread pattern is perfect.
As the engine breaks in, it gets more powerful. Mine slows down on the steep hills, but climbs the ordinary ones just fine. Hills on the freeway drops the top speed to 62 mph.
Got several “big” bikes in my garage my 77 year old knees can’t hold up anymore. Bought me a 2021 ADV new! Mainly wanted to keep riding and take this with while camping. Loved the simplicity and the 100 mpg!
I didn't think about scooters as an option until I watched this video. Makes perfect sense for a quick trip or commuting in town. Went to the Honda Powersports website, Canadian edition, and no ADV listed. No PCX either. I only see it on the American site for some reason.
@@Eric-R Thanks! Yes, sometimes they are difficult to find. The demand is there, but not sure why they don't import more into America. Keep looking! 👍🏼
Been watching your videos for a few years…when i started looking at the ADV150 and Hondas “small bike” lineup. Ended up getting ‘22 Honda Navi then traded for a ‘22 Honda Trail125 (both new). Then bought a used ‘20 Ruckus, then a used ‘21 Janus Halcyon 250, then, just a couple weeks ago, a used ‘23 ADV popped up locally and snagged thar very cheep. I love it! So smooth, nimble and effortless. Now just need to find time to ride them all! Keep the videos coming!
I am sure you have mentioned it elsewhere but just quick let me share: I always carry my emergency key tool on my keyring. I keep a replacement fob battery under the seat with the registration. That way if the fob battery ever dies I can open the seat with the emergency tool and replace the fob battery. Very quick and easy to do. So always carry a spare fob battery.
Oh yes, I've covered the topic in many other videos. I carry the hex key with code on my at all times and an extra battery in my wallet, along with the blue emergency coupler under the saddle. You never know.
I know exactly what you mean. At 53 years old I’ve been riding motorcycles for over four decades. I’m currently on a 2023 Yamaha MT 10 which is a very big heavy powerful machine. I can’t ride the way I used to in my 20s and 30s, so I will most likely be stepping down to something a little bit smaller in the future
I'm also on a 2023 MT-10. Raven black, but the tank/snorkel things are wrapped 3M matte metallic green. Very choice. My daily alongside my MT is a 250 Vespa that I absolutely adore. I'm in a city so the Vespa is fantastic, especially since it gets zero attention which makes sidewalk shortcuts easy. Get a scooter you'll love it, but for god sakes man keep the MT!
I have the ADV160 and I love it. Also turned a few heads. I did ride a lot when I was younger but now I just like the simplicity like you mentioned. So I am content with my Honda, and I have added a few accessories to make it mine
I just got my M1 last week, at 47, and ordered a small electric scooter (ES5) for local stuff, and am looking at either an ADV 160 or an X-Max 300 for my more storage/longer range scooter. I came from electric bikes and just had no interest in learning to shift gears and was never looking to ride a sports bike or something crazy - It was always about cruising on an easy simple twist and go. I would just much rather be paying attention to the ride and the guy turning in front of me than the RPMs and the gear I am in. Thanks for the videos.
Funny you say that... I'm working on a video right now that cover that! Yeah, I know...can't think of everything sometimes. But, I've covered this in many other videos. ;)
I'm 66, unfortunately still working, hopefully two years to go, just picked up a 2024 adv 160, my last ride was a Honda sport bike in 88 , this thing is all I need, no need for revving out and scraping my knee pads, this thing is more than feeds my bug for riding at a budget too, can't be beat, it's a blast
I wish I lived in a place where I could ride a scooter but I’m just too scared tbh with all the speeding traffic and crazy drivers I’d be limited to where I felt comfortable riding it. If my work was close by I’d own one for sure. The Honda Goldwings have the DCT transmissions which basically work the same as an automatic where you don’t have to shift gears, and if you do you use the handle bar triggers, no clutch or shifter. But it’s the complete opposite to being light like a scooter at over 800 lbs lol but it does have a creep mode forward/reverse so you don’t have to move it using your own strength when trying to park or maneuver in small spaces. That’s what I’ll probably end up getting. Ride safe!
@@dlee6985 Traffic and people on phones or higher than a kite all the time does worry me, but I accept the risk apparently. It's a choice like anything else. I've been fortunate so far. Hope I continue to be! ✌🏼
Last motor bike was a 1400 Ninja. Too heavy and unnecessary! I'm 52 and now own a ADV350 ! Love it . Under seat storage is great and you could pop into town or country lanes or highway use too. Fantastic bike highly recommend. Enjoyed your video 👍🏼
I've always liked scooters. I don't mind riding a "real" bike but the scooter is definitely the best thing for me to travel in European cities and filtering through traffic. Also I really enjoy the Yamaha Nmax for that use case :D
👍🏾You are so right 100 %👍🏾 I'm 64 getting ready retire this Oct 2024. I've been so overwhelmed just trying to figure out what to buy. Simple 150cc-175 start, throttle n go👍🏾I never rode a motorcycle, I can drive a 5spd manual car or truck. too many complexities motorcycle 👍🏾
@@alfredh7860 Motorbikes require balance, physical ability, awareness, confidence, and understanding the bike controls. There's people on this planet who cannot ride bikes so I'm grateful I can. So the more simple, the better to allow more folks to enjoy the experience. ✌🏼
I have considered a scooter, but not one that small. I'm now 76 years old and downsized from my big Indian to a Rebel 500. I put over a 130000 on my Harley and another 15000 on my Indian but they both weighed over 1250 pounds with me my wife and our gear. I had my left knee cap shot off and in the last few years has got weaker. The rebel only weights 400 pounds,
Sorry about the knee, I've been fortunate I've never sustained serious injury, just sports-related wear and tear. Anyway, the Rebel 500 sounds enjoyable, but never rode one yet. Maybe in time. As you know, it's not the bike that matters, but the journey it brings.
💯 agree, I have an 05 Honda Shadow Spirit that I bought brand new. I purchased a 2018 Honda PCX 150 to just scoot around town and go back and forth to work. I love my scooter 😍 I ride it more than my Shadow. It's so easy to ride, and it has under the seat storage. I just turned 50 this year 😂
I'm still far from being old, but had a PCX 150 for a few years, loved it... but the engine is just too small. I wouldn't want anything under about 300 cc.
47 and just entered the two wheel world with a Kymco 150. As a beginner I wasn't interested in fooling around with the complexities of a motorcycle so I love that CVTs exist!
I've been looking at scooters for over a decade now. I've got an old jacked up hip and lower back problems. Having a little street legal 'mini bike' to make quick trips to the store, or just f around on is why I can see owning one. I used to have a HD, even when I was young (when I didn't really realize how bad my hip was) my right knee and shin would ache after a few hours because of the way my hip sat. Wind in the hair feels pretty good at any speed.
Right on! Yep, I like the wind experience anywhere from 25-40mph and any more becomes, well, annoying to me. The larger wind screen I opted for this helps push the air over me more than the stock screen. I like a little wind, but not overkill. There's a fine balance to me.
DON'T SHY AWAY FROM THE HONDA ADV 160 IT HAULS COOKIES FOR IT'S SIZE !! AND I HAVE THE ADV150 ALSO AND THE BMW C400GT ITS SUPER NICE COUTRY ROAD TOURING MACHINE LONG DISTANCE!
At 66 I downsized from a large ADV and street bike to a ADV150 and 411 Himalayan. The ADV150 goes on most the forest service roads I travel. Best upgrade was the variator clutches and weights from the scooter swap shop. Lots more torque.
Oh yeah? Well, I might consider that upgrade some day thanks. Right now my problem is the ability to actually ride so it's rough to put miles on that thing. One day...
14’ Honda Forza 300, love a light nimble scoot. It’s almost perfect but the suspension leaves a lot to be desired. 70mpg and 80mph if need be for a quick highway jaunt is awesome.
Honestly, I am there already. I have noticed we bought a little scooter 50cc even to take to camp sites. And never had time to go camping but, I rode that little thing around grocery store and about neighborhood. I may look silly but, it is a blast. I actually would like to have a 150 or bigger to go little further. Twist and go is nice. Gears in traffic where I live is pain. So simple is great. Nice vid. I am still riding my big bikes full tour HD and M8 softails but, I really engine daily fun on twist and go light weight stuff. I might even go Honda Mini Moto even.
I reflected back on my TOMOS moped when I was a teen and remembered how much fun it was to ride a small, light bike and that's another reason I went with the ADV150 to be honest. I don't like heavy, complicated machines, but to each his/her own I suppose. BTW, who cares if we look silly. That's not our problem. ;)
@@Trekopolis I am old and married now. So don't really care what others think to lol. One reason also I was thinking to go with something like your setup is light to get out of garage or if even leaving it outside which is more prefered to make quick jumping on more appealing. But, all plastic makes cleaning a breeze vs all the nooks and crannies of my other bikes and all the chrome and paint. Takes me hrs to clean. I ride and put in garage and go to ride and is covered with dust again.
Howdy, neighbor! Yes, the ADV is not a choice for someone looking for a cheap bike, that's for sure. But, it's Honda quality and I don't regret it one bit. There's always the used market too. Sometimes you can find a bike someone is needing to let go for an affordable price.
63 with a bad back . Still want to ride . Current bike weighs 500 lbs and is having reoccurring electrical problems. Seriously considering a Navi or a scooter for the weight and maneuverability. Thanks for the video.
I'm very aware of aches and pains and it's one of the biggest reasons I wanted a lighter bike, but I forget to mention it sometimes. Good luck and I'm sure you'll find the bike for you!
My first set of 2 wheels was a 2013 Honda PCX 150. It was fun, light, and quick. My next motorcycle was a 99 Honda Shadow 1100. I just sold it because I didn't ride enough due to it always being a chore to wrestle it around in traffic. I'm 5'4 and about 135lbs. I'm considering going back to a scooter. Possibly a Honda Reflex, older Honda Helix, or Suzuki Burgman with a larger engine.
I'm on the downhill slide to 60 so I know what you mean about getting older and how that can change your preferences about riding. I work for a Harley dealer and am getting tired of heavy hot motorcycles. Currently looking for either a Burgmann 400 or kymco ak550 to commute and run around town. I like the simple things in life.
As we age simple is better, yes. I still enjoy a great thrill here and there, like roller coasters, but even those are getting pretty intense on my body. Hope you find the right bike for you soon!
Why would you need a 400 or 550cc bike to commute around town? The Honda PCX 160 will go 60 to 70 MPH Unless you are doing long road trips the pcx 160 is plenty of power.
I’m still torn between the ADV 160 and XMAX 300. I keep going back and forth. I’m sure either will end up being a great decision based on everything I’ve researched to date.
@@JamesDGarland I’ve got the same exact dilemma. Pretty much the ADV 160 will do everything I *need* it to, and get better gas mileage and be lighter. The X-Max on the other than will do anything I might EVER ask it to, and has more cargo space, and built in GPS support, and still gets 85-90mpg. (I bought an electric scoot for my short range trips when I don’t need the cargo space, so the fuel efficiency is also slightly less of a concern). If you’re asking me which I’d rather have tomorrow it’s probably the adv160. But have this nagging feeling that 2 years from now I’ll either be glad I got the X-Max or wish I had.
@@jmcminn1076 Ha! Same issues. I don’t care to ride the highways but when I do, the XMAX will give me that extra go to stay with everyone comfortably and not push the motor too hard. However, this will be a once in the while type issue but I’m a buy once type person so this is why I keep procrastinating.
@@JamesDGarland pretty much exactly that. Don’t plan to be on highways much, but the XMax 300 can accelerate a little from 70 to make way for a merging car if I do end up on one, and the adv 160 won’t. 😂🤣😂. At least it’s not just me agonizing over that. Lol.
at 6ft 245lbs I would not get the adv 160. to cramped and you will get the same gas mileage as the xmax. plus you get more storage and it can take the highways. you will need a taller windshield tho or the buffeting will be nasty. I live in a hilly area and there is no way that adv will keep up in traffic. I also just ordered the xmax comfort seat from Germany can't wait for that. then I can really put in long rides no prob plus the gps and ability to answer calls and change songs from the bike itself is just amazing. it also tells you how much oil life you have left and other service intervals.

Yes, life has been a ride lately and little time to make videos. MotoGP is awesome! I never knew how fun it was to follow that stuff. As you are aware by now, MM just won 2 in a row! Good for him. I like Marc because he's humble and professional. The MotoGP decals are simply because I'm a fan. :) Secretly, I wish I would have tried track racing back in the day now that I am into it. How cool would that be?? Oh well... not meant to be I suppose. Oh, and the Bungles? How embarrassing. Looks like Joe doesn't even care to be there now that he received his contract. I have the Honda NC750X DCT. I love the automatic nature of the bike, but the weight and height are a lot to manage. I've wanted a PCX or ADV 160 every since I started riding a few years ago. I convinced myself I "had" to ride on the interstate. Eh, riding on the interstate sucks and a bigger bike doesn't change that. I miss riding scooters.
I ride a Honda WinnerX in Vietnam, 149cc and can do highway speed, underbone with underseat storage. For the same level of performance in the scooter world, I'd have to up the displacement to the 350 class (SH 350, ADV 350)
Hi: I am turning 70, from Seattle, now retired, living in Bataan PH. OK. I own a Honda PCX 160 and a Honda XRM 125 Motard. I like each of them but they do very different jobs. The PCX is excellent for long trips on nice roads, going to the market. But the PCX cannot handle flooded roads and is terrible on slippery muddy roads, to the point of being dangerous. The XRM can do muddy slippery roads and floods. The XRM can handle road conditions that would destroy the PCX. I am very lucky in that I can afford to own both motorcycles. If you must choose to have only one, then it all depends on where and how you will use it. The PCX 160 is best, most of the time, but the XRM is what I use during the monsoon season. Thanks.
Absolutely! Where you ride is the most important when choosing any bike, great point to bring up. Around my neck of the woods it's nothing but well maintained pavement and I never ride during wet conditions because I have other transportation. I am grateful for that too. My ADV 150 is simply entertainment, not a daily commute. I bought it to reduce stress and enjoy the experience of riding again as most Americans do. In other countries smaller bikes are used as primary transportation.
@@oceanproalaska2203 I did put dual sport/adventure tires on the PCX, in October, just before I did the Luzon loop, 2,000 miles. And yes, it made a world of improvement. And the best part, I discovered, that the dual sport/adventure tires are "Run flat." meaning that when I had a flat on the rear tire I was able to drive normally to a service place. No problem! Happy! Thank you.
I switch between a flashed MT-10 and a 250 Vespa as my daily. Love them both, but especially love the Vespa because of how unassuming (and fun) it is. The nonsense I can get away with on it is ridiculous. The MT is the fastest unicycle I've ever ridden. If you know, you know.
@@Trekopolis The Vespa is great, but if I was buying today I'd get something from Japan. I've had to do lots of suspension work to give the front wheel proper feel, but in the end it's worth it. Love that thing. The MT is just stupid, full stop. Hates keeping the front wheel on the ground almost as much as it hates rear tires, which it really hates. Stay safe. Cheers.
It would be nice to have videos and comments and knowledge of how tires are serviced and brakes .. for the back yard mechanic. .. I live on a curvy road where sometime people drive too fast.. it is 55 MPH ... hills and blind turns ... also sometime want to go camping etc. ... I'd be putting this on a small utility trailer etc. and just have fun. never been on a two wheelers... some say the 125.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll keep them in mind for future content. Right now it's 20 degrees with a foot of snow out there so bike stuff is rather limited for me. Can't wait for Spring! Anyway, this bike only weights 300 pounds so it wouldn't be much to haul on a small trailer I would think. Never done it before. A 125cc even lighter I'm sure, but might sacrifice power especially on hills. This is fine on hills from my experience. It's not a rocket, but doesn't seem to lag too bad at all. I've been surprised.
Oh I see your in Ohio , I'm next door in Indiana. I sold my Harley and went and bought a new 22 Grom abs model . I'm past 65 . If one of the adv 150 s was at the Dealer too , I would have been hard pressed on choice . But my Grom is fun as hell.

I wanted a PCX, but couldn't find one. The PCX is basically the same bike, just a few subtle differences like the shocks, some visual things, but the PCX is a great bike too!
I think that BMW's C650GT was as close to perfect as you could get, so they stopped making it. However, the Honda Forsa 750 is a good replacement and the Honda X-ADV is a close second if you like to explore. Unfortunately, neither is sold in North America. Yamaha also has higher HP scooters that are not sold in North America.
Is it drum rear brake you got in the US? The one we have in our country has rear disc brake and i think its a bit better. Adv 160 was released in our country in 2023. I couldnt wait for that one so i got 150 variant in 2022. Not much upgrade except for the jump to 157cc engine and the HSTC which is the same as the TCS. Never got major upgrades except i got front and rear dashcams installed by my brother and a remote kill switch for safety reasons. Bike theft and hijacking is rampant where i am from.
I think they use drum brakes on this bike in America because it may be cheaper and most people wouldn't know any different. When I bought this bike it wasn't even a thought to be honest. I just thought a drum in the back was normal for a smaller bike like this.
Been wanting the Suzuki Burgman 400. "Scooters" seem like driving a car-like 2 wheel convertables :D. To me, these 150-160s are too slow. Thanks for the vlog!
Got a Burgman 400 last month. I doubt that you will be disappointed. If I had known how much fun these things are I would have bought one much sooner. Been riding since 1967 and find myself picking the scooter when I'm going riding instead of my 1100. It also has no problem on the on the faster highways when I am forced to get on one.
Hi Scott... Thank you for the "fun" review... I'm an "old geezer" also.. 64 yes old... I get it... And a motorcycle dude. However, looking at this. My BIGGEST concern is that my legs always hit the handlebars when turning. I'm 6'1" and 250 lbs. Can you add "handlebar risers"? Is there enough "cable" to be able to do that? Thank you again!
Hey man, thanks for the comment! I see these on Amazon: amzn.to/3WtwmXc You can also raise/tilt the bars forward or back too. From quick glance it looks like there's plenty of wire room to adjust these things. Great question BTW. I adjusted my handlebar a while ago so I wouldn't have to reach so far out. Made a big difference. It takes some playing with. Those bolts on the handlebar mount are crazy tight so beware. Some monkey must have secured them! You might need a leverage bar no joke.
I really think it depends. Age depends. 50 is not old lah. ha ha ha An hour and getting crapped up? I just finished doing 15 hours a day with only 3 hour breaks. Actually Honda here announced that they will no longer be importing the ADV150 and ADV350. Only one they will bring in is the ADV750. It had to do with sales. for every 1 150, they sell 4 750s. Same with the 350 version. Gee $5000 that is so cheap. the 150 version here goes for NT$230,000 (around $7200 USD). Part of the reason the 150 and 350 sell poorly is because for an extra NT$40,000 (around $1100 USD). You can just get the 750cc version.
@@wheels2fun526 The issue is the stock seat on the ADV150 is equal to the firmness of a common park bench. In addition, I have no meat on my personal seat. I know, TMI. But, I thought I'd explain the hour comment regarding the seat. 😂✌🏼
I love scooters but I won't be buying one as I love being able to change gears. I even own a small manual car for that reason. I'm 64 and own an 82 VF 750 (v45) Magna and love it. I used to have one of those blind spot mirrors you have on your bike but got rid of it because I got sick of seeing me looking back at me. Besides from that it was great. I now have one on each of the side mirror. I hope you get many more years of happy riding from it.
I enjoy manual bikes too and wish I could own many kinds, but that isn't happening. So I had to settle on something I enjoy the most. Still love the Ninja 400. So I understand what you're saying.
I bought my first automatic vehicle 2 years ago (170cc scooter) after owning manual transmission cars and bikes for over 50 years. I rode old manual transmission Vespas for many years and would still opt for a manual transmission scooter if they were available. I can see why manufacturers have all gone to belt drive CVTs, cheap to build and easy to use.
I am in my 60s and have owned many motorcycles over the years. About 7 years ago I bought a PCX 125 as my daily commuter, saving my Shadow 1100 for fun rides. In the just over 12 months that I owned it, the scooter was perfect for my needs and cost very little to run. Unfortunately, of all the bikes that I have owned, this was the one that seemed most attractive to thieves. There were 2 attempts to steal it after I had left it parked (lock through wheel prevented the theft) and finally I was drop kicked off it at the lights and it was taken. Being so light and capable of being ridden by a monkey just makes them too easy to take. I loved the practicality of a scooter, but I went back to the 1100, as if they kicked me off that, at least they wouldn't be able to pick it up?!
Wow, that's unfortunate and I'm sorry that happened to you. I'm thankful I live in an area that you don't hear about situations like that too much, if ever. In fact, you're the first person that's ever mentioned it. Yes, a heavier bike will prevent such a thing, true! I have thought about carrying something on me for protection, but I'm not sure if I have to resort to that unless I plan to travel longer distances one day. For now I enjoy short jaunts around town and it satisfies me just fine. Anyway, glad you're still able to ride.
@Trekopolis you can get a discount with us tuber Doodle on a motorcycle,doodle10 I think.no wiring needed.they go on as you slow down, before you brake.
I ride a Conventional motorcycle. The thing that I like is I can shift down. I rented a scooter while on vacation and I was going downhill on a slippery road with Mud and sand, with an automatic you can not shift down, You have to brake , Not a good idea on a slippery road Really scary. I am going to buy a PCX and the main reason is I have 2 bad knees and its difficult to bend them enough to shift and the foot pegs become very uncomfortable after a while. I never thought I would own a F-ing scooter, but Im 68 and with my disability I think its time.
@@oceanproalaska2203 I hear ya, but honestly I've only experienced that sensation maybe once going down a steep hill, which is not common where I typically ride. It was a different feeling only depending on brakes, but they performed as expected. I'd own a different bike if I did a lot off hills or off road riding. Yep, life has a cruel way of stripping us from our physical abilities as we age. I know that feeling well my friend. 😉 Anyway, you'll enjoy the automatic. Everyone who rides one leaves very positive comments on my channel. It's great to hear, but the more important thing is finding a bike that delivers the most enjoyment. The label (bike type) shouldn't matter. Enjoy and thanks for the comment! 🛵 ✌🏼
Probably buying the ADV 350 to replace my car, later this year. Driving in the UK is a joke now, way too expensive, hard to park. I also have a VFR 800 for play-days. If I need a car for anything, I'll rent, and give it back when I'm finished with it.
I didn't know driving in the UK was like that. Very interesting. We have areas in America where it's bad (major cities) but for the most part it's nice and wide open. I avoid cities unless I have a reason to go there. Most people do. Anyway, good luck with the ADV350. I bet that would be fun!
I have commented before but I’m back. I have the 22 adv and I’m just up the road in beavercreek. I love the bike but being a single guy it’s not helping me out much lol

Excellent. I hope I can do the same - I'm 62, and love life on two wheels.

I just started riding the Honda adv 150 and I’m 50.
And that's how people will get into riding these motorbikes is when you tell them the mpg you're getting LOL. They look kool, and are affordable.

I added a tall National Cycle shield for comfort and a SHAD top case for hauling groceries and holding my helmet when parked. I even did a 190 mile day trip on it comfortably, with the exception of my butt being sore. I have a couple seat pads from Amazon that help out some in that regard.

Thanks for sharing!

@@peteortiz3554 I'm working for the man too still, I get it! 🙄 Silly me. But, when I'm eligible for retirement I'm done with that nonsense. 😉
Ride safe!

Check out the Yamaha XMAX, it's a 300cc

@@Trekopolis I am old and married now. So don't really care what others think to lol. My first set of 2 wheels was a 2013 Honda PCX 150. It was fun, light, and quick. My next motorcycle was a 99 Honda Shadow 1100. Possibly a Honda Reflex, older Honda Helix, or Suzuki Burgman with a larger engine.
I The Shadows are nice bikes, I've ridden them. But, a little heavier than something like the ADV 150 of course. A Burgman would be an option, yep!

@@JamesDGarland I’ve got the same exact dilemma. Pretty much the ADV 160 will do everything I *need* it to, and get better gas mileage and be lighter.

Wow $5,000? The new ADV160 cost around $3,000 here.
@@AnselPines IKR? Little steep, but the used market is an option too. Depends on the country I suppose.
Yup, $3k in Thailand... sad. If the prices were the same in the USA I think a lot more people would buy them
Oh I see your in Ohio , I'm next door in Indiana. I sold my Harley and went and bought a new 22 Grom abs model . I'm past 65 . If one of the adv 150 s was at the Dealer too , I would have been hard pressed on choice . But my Grom is fun as hell.
@@ronniecurnutt4309 My son's 1st bike was a green Grom. I rode it a lot actually. Top speed to haul my weight was around 50mph. 🤔 He rode it six months to learn to shift then bought a Harley. 🙄 Kids. I'm kidding, I like all bikes. BTW, howdy neighbor! ✌🏼
Wish the Honda ADV was available in Canada. We only have the Honda PCX and Navi twist n go.
@@tridentyyz Yep, there's lots of choices! Thank you.
I just thought a drum in the back was normal for a smaller bike like this.
should you take 350 if it was available?
Been wanting the Suzuki Burgman 400. "Scooters" seem like driving a car-like 2 wheel convertables :D. To me, these 150-160s are too slow. Thanks for the vlog!
@@everythingisIAM 😂 They are not for everyone true! Fits the bill nicely for me, however. ✌🏼
How many miles do you have on yours? I just hit 8000 and counting. I got the Corbin seat for it and man what a difference.
@@markolszewski7600 Maybe like 3K. I barely have time to ride, especially living in Ohio. I'm sure the seat upgrade helps quite a bit!
Side note: my girlfriend's family here in Thailand has a Honda wave 125cc and it has over 30,000 miles LOL...(50k kilometers)
@@Trekopolis Thanks Scott! That was very helpful!
Honda Silverwing 600 was the best bike I have ever owned. Far superior to any "proper" motorcycle.
Nice!
If you like being seen, get the brake free light for the back of your helmet!
@@conniewaite1371 I've seen those! Hmm... Good idea! ✌🏼
MSGA - Make Scooters Great Again!
How are you filming?
Couple of GoPro cams and a mic inside helmet.
What phone cradle are you using?
I use this one and never had issues: Phone Holder JOYROOM: amzn.to/44wGdOw Thanks!
Its a hybrid "s.u.m." sport utility motorcycle!!🎉
@@josephgeorgeejr7039 Nice!

I have commented before but I’m back. I have the 22 adv and I’m just up the road in beavercreek. I love the bike but being a single guy it’s not helping me out much lol
A good woman will understand it's not the bike you ride, it's the person twisting the throttle that matters. Thanks for the comment BTW!
3:56 that’s funny because they wouldn’t be able to hear you anyway lol you know old people lol by the way I’m also over half a century old.
They would feel the rumble of an obnoxious pipe over hearing tones.

Yes, I'm 71 and have MS so a flat floor is very convenient.
DO YOU THINK, ALL THESE ADS FOR A 2025 HONDA 600 CC SCOOTER, OR THE 500 CC SCOOTER ARE REAL? They say Honda on them, but when you look at the scooters, there are no honda tags on them. th-cam.com/video/Bnv5nQNknr8/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/TvCkXyWEmHg/w-d-xo.html
