I'm happy to report that after upgrading the variator and changing the weights to 3g (stock 18g) that the pull is fantastic and it will cruise all day to 60 without much effort. And will actually will hit 72 (with my weight) given enough patience and room. When you outpace 99% of the cars from a stop light on a scooter, I think that its a good combination. MPG - I'll get 70 -80 mpg when horsing on it the whole time and 80-100 mpg when just taking it easy. Its at about 1700 miles now and loving every moment of it. Just waiting for a few USA sources for accessories and slowly add those. Overall, I'm VERY happy with my choice and the sheer luck of finding a used one with 12 miles on it! Many, many thanks to @Quasimotard for picking this up for me.
Awesome, thanks for info. I been looking into scooters so I can get around and work, as well as be more mobile. This scooter seems like a perfect fit. Just wish it looked more like the rugged
These Honda , Suzuki and Yamaha scooters are unknown jewels , I bought a 2017 forza 300 in summer of 2020 had less than a 1000 miles for $2700 and it is perfect for me in my mid 60’s
Having both, the most obviously differences for me are the riding position and suspension. The adv feels taller and more upright. It also does much better on the washboard ripples on the road. The suspension is still scooter harsh, but much better than the pcx.
Agreed! The ADV150's suspension is the biggest improvement by far. The wider tires and higher handlebar position make it feel much more planted on the road. The larger front brake rotor also improves the brake feel compared to my older PCX150. Kevin replied somewhere in the comments earlier, and he mentioned that he upgraded the variator and rollers. Now his ADV150 will run 72 MPH top speed and it gets 80-100 MPG under normal riding conditions. I'm still editing the weekend ride video up to Austin, so stay tuned for that episode! Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@paulstanley3265 Unfortunately, yes... the center plastics and trunk tray must be removed to access the top of the engine for the valve check. I'll be doing the maintenance on my PCX150 sometime soon, so I'll be sure to share that whole process from beginning to end. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
VERY thorough comparison, well done! I am going tomorrow to buy my wife a ADV 150. She doesn't want to pull in a clutch and shift so this is what I came up with for her. Hopefully this fits the bill. I own 22 motorcycles (yes, I know that's crazy, but I don't have kids so bikes are my happy place) I will come back and let you know her and my thoughts. Blessings to all...
Congrats on the upcoming ADV150! It sounds like you and I share the same affliction... collecting bikes! I was up to 25 bikes for a short time, but now I'm back down to 18. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
I apologize, it's definitely the immature kid in me, but it is a weird irony, with your last name being what it is, not to have kids, seriously not trying be a azz hle just thought that was a weird coincidence, good luck with the bike though
Excellent comparison of the two little ones. I chose to go with the 125 cc Super Cub mainly out of nostalgia, as the 50cc was my very first one at 14 and I got way too much for my money. It was the third “scooter “ I had, whatever I asked it for it did, and more. I got my CT 90 next, and I just rode the bike into the ground. Then both of my kids rode them to college. Then I sold it many years years later, now I’m just past my 73rd birthday and a slew of bikes over the years . I gave my 1995 Trumpet 1200/4 Trophy to the best friend, and genius mechanic, I Think have ever known. I think it’s a good idea for if it, he’s just got the stuff that that it would take to get a the first Trophy 1200/4 into a proper showplace! That was my favourite thing I ever had, and it has a great History to me and my pal Gregory Anderson! Thanks again Buddy! Poppa Jack Byers Buena Park, Ca.
My brother is going to join us on scooter cannonball 2023. He bought the 2022 ADV, I steered him away from the pcx and super cub. He’s 6’1”. I’m 5’8 and was very uncomfortable sitting on the pcx in the show room. Seems like you can push back and stretch out more one the adv. since I’m Yamaha biased I tried to sway him to SMax. Honda all the way for him. Thanks for the side by side comparison.
19:43 for Seat Height comparison. He states the ADV150 feels 1-1.5 inches taller since he is on both tip toes with 29.5-30in inseam. The main reason I'm looking at these is because it's for a shorter rider and all scooters with bigger engine are too tall. I ride a Yamaha Majesty 400
Just bought the adv 150 and I love how it absorbs bumps better due to its longer suspension travel compared to my Yamaha Aerox 155. Did plenty of upgrades to my Aerox especially on front and rear suspension which improved the suspension a lot better compared to stock but the suspension on the adv 150 both front and rear are far better. Adv 150 suits my riding style as I go offroad sometimes. Great comparison video. Kudos 👏🏻
I can see how your friend caught the bug after taking your pcx 150 for a ride,.. I was in Thailand in 2017 and rented a 2016 pcx 150 for two months up in Chiang Mai, I too caught the bug and bought one when I got back to the states ( Boston ) . I’m back in Thailand now ( Phuket) and have rented a 2019 pcx 150 HYBRID ,… I’ve never seen one back in America but it’s pretty neat , it has a small toggle switch in the front of the left handgrip housing that allows you too place it in three modes that will appear on your odometer screen ( “D” for drive , “S” for special , and the last mode brings up a blank space on the odometer screen and it’s basically drive but the engine won’t shut down when your stopped at a red light ( in Thailand the red lights are several minutes long and the pcx150’s have the option of continuing to run, or shutting down and they restart with a twist of the throttle ( at 100 mpg is this really necessary) . So “ D “ and “blank” are self explanatory but the “S” mode is where the “hybrid” applies, there is a 48 volt electric motor and Lithium-ion battery under the seat that gives it a boost when you get on it,.. and comparing it to my pcx150 at home ,.. you can definitely see a difference . There’s also a pretty cool power thrust bar on the odometer screen that spools up as your nailing it. ….. thanks for the video on the adv,…. You keep your bikes super clean !
Yeah, these scooters are definitely addictive to ride! They are easy to get along with, and the twist-and-go lifestyle lets you focus more on the ride than the machine. It's unfortunate that we don't get a lot of the small-displacement motorcycles and scooters that other European and Asian markets have. If we did, then my fleet would probably be 3x bigger! Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
Looking for my first Scoot and was really interested in the XMAX, but i test rode the ADV150 in Hot Springs AR and really liked it. The wife was digging the PCX on the showroom floor. So i was glad to see your comparison video. Great stuff. I subbed and dinged. Thanks!
Howdy! I don't own the ADV150 (yet). However, I use the Quad Lock system on all of my motorcycles and scooters with great success. You can see the Quad Lock system in action on my Honda Super Cub during my 2021 Scooter Cannonball adventure, which survived 10K brutal highway and off-road miles without incident: th-cam.com/play/PLLXxDh3JumLnSK37lF4AcrF28frAIfLfA.html Another example is on my Honda PCX150 during the recent 2023 Scooter Cannonball: th-cam.com/play/PLLXxDh3JumLnX1mjsF0BtAmV0IqEVaAAE.html The full Quad Lock solution is a bit spendy, but it's very secure and the convenience can't be beat: there are no charging cables to attach, and it works in the rain! i was thinking about this ( but the 2025 which is now 160 ) and close to pressing the button on it when i realized im prolly better off not bothering and just being happy with my Trail 125. they sure make it hard to get what you want at a Honda dealership these days... i would never ride a passenger on the back again ( so of course ppl would be asking with this ) after what happened with my 81' express ( accident when dude jumped off and pushed me in to traffic )... there is the slight higher speed and the alarm that makes it desirable tho but honestly i like the back rack so its a tough call. thanks for the videos as always man !!!
Unfortunately, no... we don't have the XADV750, ADV350, Forza 150/350, or Yamaha NMAX scooters here in the USA. We would love to get those here, but the USA has poor sales and a low market share for small motorcycles and scooters. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
Just looked at the new 2024 ADV 160 and the PCX 160. Dang the PCX is comfy! But I heard stiffer non adjustable shocks. Since you have and have ridden both. Thoughts
I haven't ridden the new ADV160 yet, but I have tested the PCX160. The suspension on the new PCX is quite good compared to older models like my 2015. I prefer the ADV's more upright ergonomics and wider/flatter handlebars, but it has less wind protection than the PCX. Tire sizes are nearly identical between the two models, so both will feel very sure-footed compared to the older PCX's narrow tires. My biggest complaint about the ADV150 was the busy (and tough to read) instrument cluster. The revised cluster on the new ADV160 is much easier to read, and the PCX160's large display is fantastic. You can see a quick onboard test ride of the PCX160 from my recent meet-up ride: th-cam.com/video/VJB65pnhHv0/w-d-xo.htmlm43s . Cheers, and good luck deciding in your new scoot! 😉👍 --QM
Great comparison. I wish you had a ADV150 for some roadtrips to hear some touring reviews. Thoroughly enjoy your content Quasi keep up the good work. Cheers from South Australia 🍻
I've seen a few articles listing that price, but I think they are mistaken. The X-ADV 750 costs around $14K USD (if we could get it here), and the ADV350 lists at £5,599 in the UK ($7500 USD) . The new ADV350 will likely cost around $7K if/when it's announced for the USA market... or so we hope! 😉👍 --QM
What's so funny is back in 1982 my Honda full Wheeler came with the same setup for lock in the brakes just right off the brakeclever I think that's the best they ever came up with
I knew I had seen that somewhere before , i was thinking maybe during my snowmobiling days,.. but now ya got me thinking it was on my brothers quad from many years back
I have a 2022 honda rebel 1100 Dct and I have the honda shadow phantom 750 enjoy both bikes I am looking at the ADV 150 and the PCX 150 for my wife she is a short lady and I'm not sure which one to get. Any help would be appreciated. We live in Mississippi and usually have great weather for riding.
Howdy, Dean, and congrats on your Honda cruisers! The short answer is this: the decision between the newer PCX150/160 and the ADV150 really boils down to the ergonomics and the rider's preference. I'd recommend finding a local dealer (or private seller) that has one of each scoot so she can sit on them and ride around the parking lot a few times to determine which feels more comfortable and sure-footed. The weight and seat height are roughly the same for both scoots, offering similar performance. However, they *FEEL* very different. The long answer is below: *Ergonomics*: In my opinion, the ADV150's ergonomics are better than the PCX for most riders of average height (e.g., 5'4" or taller). The ADV's seating position is more on TOP of the bike than down IN it, and the wide/flat handlebars give you a very neutral position with lots of bar control. The riding position feels more like a standard motorcycle or a dirt bike than a scooter. The PCX150's seating position feels like you're down IN the bike instead of on top of it, so that might be more comfortable for smaller/shorter riders. The PCX's narrower bars have a more traditional "cruiser" feel, and the rider triangle is a bit more compact due to the lower seat-to-floorboard gap. Those seating differences can make the PCX feel smaller and more manageable. (N.B.: my wife is 5'3", 115 lbs, and she can handle the PCX150 just fine... not quite flat-footed, but comfortable). Weight and fuel capacity are nearly identical between the two scoots (ADV weighs 294 lbs vs 286 for the PCX). The most significant difference is in the seat and handlebar position. Road manners are a slightly different story... *Road Manners & Brakes*: The ADV's road manners are better due to its larger tires, better suspension & brakes, and wide/flat handlebars. It feels more planted at moderate to high speeds and doesn't feel squirmy under normal road conditions. The ADV's beefier suspension and wider tires can tackle light off-road riding (e.g., gravel and forestry trails) better than the PCX, if that's on your agenda. The PCX's skinnier tires can make it feel less planted on the road when speeds climb above 50 MPH or when riding in heavy crosswinds. It can feel sketchy and unnerving for less experienced riders. However, the PCX feels more "flickable" and changes direction quicker than the ADV, making it feel more nimble around town and at lower speeds. The ADV has a slightly larger front brake rotor than the PCX (240mm vs. 220mm), and it stops with much more authority... at least compared to my 2015 PCX. ABS is also standard equipment on the ADV. The brakes on the older PCX's (pre-2019) aren't as strong as the ADV, and you can only get ABS on the 2019+ models as an option. The PCX's brakes are adequate, but I upgraded to EBC HH front pads to give more bite and better braking performance. Another minor but important note about handling: the PCX tends to get pushed around in crosswinds slightly worse than the ADV. I think it's due to the PCX's narrower tires and more "flatter" bodywork that gives it more surface area to push against, and there is less tire contact patch to resist the wiggle. *Economy & Reliability*: The PCX's bodywork is more streamlined and aerodynamic than the ADV, so it gets much better fuel economy than the ADV (although the newer 4-valve PCX160's are reportedly a bit thirsty). I easily average 100-120 MPG on my 2015 PCX150 around town AND on the highway running 55-60 MPH. Most ADV owners report only 75-80 MPG average for their scoots. Maintenance intervals are identical for the ADV and PCX because they share the same engine and drivetrain. The newer 4V engines are reportedly more maintenance prone than the older 2V engines. Checking the valve clearances on both scoots is a pain in the butt. That requires removing a LOT of plastics to get in there every 2500 miles, so most owners stretch that out to 5-8K miles. My PCX's were in spec at every interval so far (600 and 3000 miles), so I'm not too worried about letting them slide. If you're interested in seeing a longer road trip with the ADV150 and the PCX150, then you might want to watch this video: th-cam.com/video/uxlqSbNVRHg/w-d-xo.html . We took these scoots on another road trip a few months later with lots of abuse on gravel roads: th-cam.com/video/0AC_giCChTM/w-d-xo.html . Those videos might give you a better idea of how they perform on twisty highways and back roads. Cheers, and good luck shopping! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard Thank you for all the information on the two bike its greatly appreciated I have been watching your videos on yours rides especially the 1100 it a great bike. I live in Central Mississippi I am roughly two hours from New Orleans if you ever make a trip close I would like to catch up with you and ride with you guys I also have been following the life of Burch also. if interested let me know and I will send you my number. Thank you for your time. Dean
I feel like this would be awesome for cruising on most streets around town, usually about 45mph... I live down the way in San Antonio, and am considering one of these for trips to HEB and just cruising around town, maybe to work occasionally, you know just for the daily stuff... seems like it would be fun.. Hopefully they bring the new ADV 350 to the US in the next year or two... I'd definitely be sold!!!
You also have a great scooter shop on Austin Highway if you feel like comparing Honda to Taiwan brands and other stuff like Piaggio/Vespa and Royal Enfield. I miss that place, as all we have for scooters in my current town is a Honda dealer, so you're paying pretty much top dollar, and they're significantly backordered. That said, you can't go wrong with either of these Hondas or really any small-medium Honda. These two especially are just throw a leg over and go.
Update on my Update. I had a deposit down on a PCX at a dealer in Ohio. Due in Sometime in July?? A few weeks ago a 2022 ADV150 showed up at a dealer 20 miles away. Got my deposit back on the PCX (still hasnt showed up) and bought the ADV. Just rolled over 300 miles. 104MPG so far. Best toy I have bought in my life time. Do you know where I can find some smile removal cream?
I wish your comparison was between an equivalent year PCX. I purchased a 2020 in that beautiful red metal flake and couldn't be happier! Though I still have my very capable 2013 Pearl White Burgman 650 that I purchased used with 1926 miles as well as my 2009 KLR650 and 2014 Victory Cross Country Tour with a Hannigan sidecar, I LOVE my Honda for all it's capabilities...still, I've considered the ADV which if they bring the 350 to our shores will be an instant purchase. I just think older PCX 150s are not as stunning as the newer models with LED integrated lighting. Love your channel! Ever consider repping the single wheel trailer company? I'd buy one from you in a flash!
As far as I know, none of the PCX's have hazard lights. The newest models might have added that feature, but I don't recall seeing it on the controls anywhere. 🤔 --QM
@@QuasiMotard Thanks! I think I'm leaning toward a 2022 ADV 150 (found a great price on one with less than 700 miles on it). Thanks for your side-by-side review, it was excellent.
I'm 315lbs, about to pay for a PCX125. Godd bless it's little shock absorbers. Why on earth don't these things come with these rollers??? What's the downsides, if no ttop speed? Is it just mpg?
I think Honda uses rollers instead of sliders for durability and reliability. Rollers should theoretically be able to adjust position and wear evenly across their surfaces, but they still tend to flatten out over time. The Dr.Pulley sliders definitely have an advantage for top speed, acceleration, and economy when ridden conservatively. Congrats on your upcoming PCX125... they are great machines! Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
Quasi, these videos are awesome! I really appreciate you sharing this content on comparing ADV150 & PCX150. I purchased a PCX 150 about 2 months ago, and has been riding it every chance I get. Thanks!
The top case is the SHAD SH39 ( amzn.to/3jbWyV6 ), and it mounts to the PCX with the SHAD top mount (P/N: H0PC11ST, www.shadusa.com/products/pcx-125-10-21-top-mount?variant=32428342018090 ). It's a super-stable and secure mounting solution, and I've been thoroughly impressed with it over the past 6+ years. You can lock the top case to discourage tampering, but the case opens without a key when unlocked... just push in on the handle to pop the lid. That's a huge time saver over cases that require a lock to keep them closed while riding. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
Looking at these two, I’m a beginner and just looking around and trying to do research, definitely just wanting one to have fun and using it for short commutes, nothing expensive or crazy, think the adv 150 fits the bill but definitely going to continue to search around to keep my options open
Master Jedi! love your videos! question; I Purchased a 2022 ADV with miles 162 miles in Dec 2022. The previous owner bought it in August 2022. People are telling me, the first oil change should be at 600 miles is this true? I have not, and I am at 1021 miles.
[In my best Yoda voice] "Help you, I can!" Yes, the first service and oil change for these scoots is 600 miles, so I recommend changing the oil and cleaning out the filter screen ASAP! You can download a copy of the owner's manual from Honda free here: cdn.powersports.honda.com/documentum/MWOM/ml.remawmom.22_adv150a__kowa__owner_s_manual.pdf . You can find lots of service information in the online forums and also on my free Discord server: discord.gg/DfC97FU I also recommend installing a Gold Plug MP-01 magnetic drain bolt: amzn.to/3wUITnw . They are a direct fit to replace the factory drain bolt, and they help to keep abrasive metallic sludge out of the oil. Remember that these engines don't have traditional oil filters, so the magnetic bolt really helps (in my opinion). Cheers, and congrats on your new ADV150! 😉👍 --QM
Maybe the windscreen is just for aero, and not comfort? I like these, but after they tack on all the "hidden" add-ons its 20% more expensive than advertised. Seems to me it should be a law to include all shipping/crating/assembly whatever is not optional in the MSRP pricing. Honda is really being deceptive about the out the door pricing (I suppose others are too, but still)
Agreed. I think all manufacturers (not just Honda) should enforce maximum pricing to prevent the dealers from gouging and adding ridiculous mark-ups on the vehicles. It reflects poorly on the manufacturer when a vehicle has an MSRP of $4699, but the dealers are scalping people for $7000+ OTD price. That has been a real problem lately in Texas, particularly in Northern cities like Dallas. Dealers are routinely adding $1500-3000 on top of the MSRP, and then still charging for freight and bogus prep fees. The Navi was a prime example with its $1877 MSRP, but dealers were extorting people for $4000+ OTD. That's ridiculous, predatory behavior, and Honda should revoke those dealers' licenses. That's why I shop out of state whenever necessary. Even if I need to drive 600 miles away to get a decent price, the fuel expenses are usually only half of what the local dealer's upcharge is. Plus... I get a road trip out of the deal! 🤣👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard Funny. I'm in Dallas trying to get one (ADV160) lol. That said, dealers here are ok, but no discounts. Its really honda listing a price that is not real - you can't buy for what they advertised. Should be a national law that advertised price includes anything from the manufacturer that is not optional - Honda has destination charge, but then another $100 on top of that. Its a lot of money when I could get an ok used car for that money. I bought a used Lexus LS400 for $350 14 years ago, and am still driving it lol.
True, but many motorcycle dealers jack up their prep and freight fees much higher than what they pay or is actually necessary. The dealer's invoice is always considerably lower than MSRP, so dealer profit is already built-in as long as they don't discount the sale or lose money on freight. The "documentation" fees and $450-700 in prep fees (exclusive of freight) are where they really scam buyers. All of those add-ons are bogus and are pure fat for the dealer. Most bikes come completely assembled in the crates and only need the mirrors screwed in, the battery connected, and fuel added to the tank. It's a 30-minute job, including the time to dismantle the crate. That's not mentioning the fact that the dealers are reimbursed for prep and PDI fees by the manufacturers (dirty little secret). I've shown the whole process in several of my recent un-crating videos. The difference between good dealers and bad ones is readily apparent when you compare prices and make purchases out of state. I've done a lot of business with dealers in AR, MO, and TN... no mark-ups, no BS prep fees, no documentation fees... just MSRP OTD and not a penny over. They paid the same as all the other dealers for the same bikes with the same freight fees, so the other dealers are scamming... plain and simple. 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard I did end up getting the ADV160 from Wise Honda who didn't add any scam fees on it and was no BS to deal with which was nice. It was a little drive to get there, but we are really liking the bike.
HELP!!!!!!!! PLEASE!! My ADV recently got hit from behind while parked, the ignition switch turns to the on position but won't start. Kick stand up brake engaged, all fuses checked and are good! any suggestions? desperate in Florida!! When the bike was hit I was able to start it but the next day it wouldn't relay switch maybe?
🤔 Hmmm... I would inspect the following items in order of likelihood: - start/stop switch on the handlebar (set to the ON/RUN position) - side stand switch (stand needs to be in the up/closed position) - battery voltage above 12.8V - try your second keyless remote fob - tip-over sensor Try toggling the start/stop switch off and in a few times, and also flip the kickstand down and up to see if that clears the switches. You can check the side stand switch with a standard multimeter or continuity tester. The start/stop switch is more tricky to test because you need to disassemble the switch pod and reach into the fairing cover to disconnect the harness. The tip-over sensor is also difficult to test because it's buried under the front plastics. You might need to take it to a service center for diagnosis if the quick troubleshooting doesn't solve the issue. Good luck with it, and let us know how it turns out! 😉👍 --QM
Certainly! The ADV150 is very comfortable for cruising rural roads at up to 100 kmh for hours at a time. These scooters have performed extremely well in the 2021 and 2023 Scooter Cannonball Run here in the USA. The Scooter Cannonbal is a gruelling 5000+ mile (8000+ km) cross-country endurance rally that covers highways (A-roads), rural highways (B-roads), and even hundreds of miles of gravel/unpaved roads. None of the ADV150's that entered failed due to mechanical failures... the only ones that didn't finish were due to rider error, wrecks, or drop-outs. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard thank you, this is encouraging. I will be mostly using this scooter for everyday shorter rides and light trails, but would need to do 300km road trips once a month or so. Are there any more offroad oriented tyres available for this scooter wheels, some 50/50 tyres maybe?
Good Video. I have both a 2022 pcx and a 2023 adv 150 locally. Similarly price. I was thinking adv 350. Not sure what I'm doing for my first scooter/ or motorcycle
Thanks for the feedback! I'll probably add the new ADV160 to my stable later this year. I'm still hoping that Honda brings the ADV350 to the USA, but it's not likely going to happen. 😉👍 --QM
Great video. Just found you and now I am more interested in purchasing one and traveling. Where did Kevin get his scooter from. I live in Richmond, TX. I am 6’-2” do you think I would be confortable on a adv 150? Thanks and keep the great videos coming.
Thanks for watching and leaving feedback! I picked up that ADV150 at Team Mancuso Powersports South in La Marque, TX. Kevin is 6' and weighs 270 lbs, so you should be fine at 6'2". Kevin added a new windscreen (not sure of the brand) and modified his seat to remove the hump behind the rider. Otherwise, he's very happy with it after 2 years and ~10K miles. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
I own a 2022 ADV150 and feel the wind screen could be about twice as big for my liking. Raised or lowered windscreen to me shows no improvement in wind reduction.
I Never Thought I would ever buy a Scooter, But I really want the ADV. I may wait until the 160 comes out Here in Philippines. I like Bigger Cruisers but here in Philippines, the roads are rough and its really unsafe to go more than 50 MPH. It looks like the ADV is the Perfect Bike for S E Asia. Thanks for the Review

I bought Two PCX 150’s.I drove them to work one at a time They did a fantastic job of making each trip to & from my commute The commute was about 49 miles to & from destination I had over the road truckers try race me,most of time I made them angry because I could speed up much faster
How do either of these compare to the Piaggio Liberty 150? I've owned an ADV150 and I was underwhelmed by it's top speed...this was before I knew anything about their CVT's so I didn't know things could be done to improve them. I'm looking to add a scooter soon and the PCX, ADV and Liberty are my top choices...just missed a 2019 Liberty with 62 miles for $1900, still kicking myself over that...but there seems to be a dealer not that far from me with several leftover 2022 PCX's where I might be able to get a deal
Awsome news. Its 2023.. Honda gave us a ( killer upgrade with 10 more cc's now it's it a 160cc .. the wind shield is bigger & adjustable .. the storage is bigger now.. the digital instrument cluster has nice upgrades and control buttons..! As if that wasn't enough ?.. feeling other stuff too;
I almost bought a ADV, then i tested the new PCX 160 2021. Hands down the newer 4 valve PCX. so i bought the pcx for 2021 with the 4valve.. only problem is its really shady buying parts and stuff for it here in the us. some dealers here dont even know the difference in the 4 valve. most of the stuff i have ordered has to come from the Philippines or Vietnam. But the up side is it will really run around 85mph and has plenty of power. really not a lot of mods needed, the rear shocks suck! and the seat is hard as a rock.
Hey Quasi! It's an interesting realization. To, at 31 years old, realize that one of the things that calms and relaxes me... Is a middle-aged man driving a mid-sized scooter over a bumpy road making Kermit the Frog noises. I appreciate it though; going to watch the camping video next. And probably buying a PCX150 this weekend. This is an amazing video in many aspects.
Thanks for watching and leaving feedback! I own lots of bikes and scooters, both large and small. I gravitate toward the small-bore lifestyle because of the simplicity and the fun factor... it's less about racing around and more about pure riding enjoyment. I have lots more small-bore content in my channel in the "moto camping" and "scooters" playlists. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard You are very welcome, and thank you for your videos! I went from the camping to the 2023 Cannonball videos and will be watching the day 2 escapades today! Very cool stuff! I tested the PCX but since my daily commute is about 11mls of which 8 are highway, the second test on a 2011 SH300i fit me better. I like the looks of your PCX more though! I thought the dealer was going to look at me funny hopping off an xjr 1300 and asking about a scootyscoot but nothing was further from the truth. Literally all of the dealer employees turned out to be secret lovers of the scoots (they whispered it is to avoid being blasted and missing out on the 1000cc sales -because stigma-) and I see why now! Thanks for bringing me what I need! This is great fun.
Watch to total video but didn’t hear anything on the transmission.. Maybe I missed it, there was some child noise.. Does it have a Honda magic or a CVT compared to the PCX? I believe the Suzuki Berman has a CVT and they offer a 400cc engine.
Howdy, Clive! I wear mostly textile-mesh riding gear throughout the year here in Houston, TX. Here is the short list for reference: Jacket: Fly Racing Flux Air Mesh amzn.to/3uNfz3t Gloves: Olympia 734 Digital Protector mesh gloves amzn.to/3HtjY0y Boots: TCX Explorer EVO GoreTex amzn.to/3O1RWuE Socks: Darn Tough Micro Crew Ultra-light amzn.to/3P7l2tZ The jacket and gloves flow a lot of air while moving, but they can get stuffy while stopped in traffic. The unseen benefit of wearing a jacket, even during blazing-hot Houston summers, is that the jacket prevents sunburn and windburn that dries out the skin. A little bit of added sweat also provides a cooling effect while moving, so it's a worthwhile trade-off. The Fly Racing jacket has been one of my best gear purchases in decades! That was a $99 close-out special at CycleGear nearly 8 years ago, and it's still kicking! The Olympia gloves usually last me 2-3 years of constant use (abuse), and they're hand washed every few weeks during the hot months to prevent the inevitable "stinky shoe" syndrome. All of my helmets are modular (flip-up), so that helps me to ventilate while stopped in traffic... just flip-up to breathe and cool off while stationary. The Darn Tough Merino wool socks help to keep my feet dry and minimize odor. They are guaranteed for life, and I've exercised that warranty a few times. They will typically wear out at the heel or toe after a year or two. I just email them with the problem and they send me a fresh pair of socks! I need to pay for shipping back to Vermont, but that's a minimal expense: darntough.com/pages/our-unconditional-lifetime-guarantee Good luck shopping, and I hope you find a good fit! Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
That depends on which year PCX we're discussing. The older 2015 PCX150 in this video has narrower wheels & tires, and both wheels are 14" diameter (90/90-14 front, 100/90-14 rear). The newer PCX160 and ADV150/160 have similar wheels, so it should be possible to swap those. The ADV has 110/80-14 front and a 130/70-13 rear. The new PCX has a 110/70-14 front and a 130/70-13 rear. The front tire clearance might be tight on the PCX for the taller tire (110/80 vs 110/70). Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
Thank you for sharing, the video image and sound are super nice. I will pick the PCX for a relaxing scooter. Right now, I ride my Piaggio MP3 250, good but heavy.
Hi can i ask well you see i have the 2022 Honda Forza 350 here in Norway i love the bike or should say SCOOTER . Now do thay sell the Forza 350 in the good old U.S.A. . i like your videos 👍
Thanks for watching and leaving feedback! Unfortunately, we don't have the Forza 350 or ADV 350 here in the USA. I have been anxiously waiting for Honda to bring one of those to the USA. I would definitely purchase one to replace my PCX150 and my older SilverWing 600 (FSC600). Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

Ok have a great day and keep the great videos comeing . 👍
Nice video enjoyed it. On the adv 150 will you have to remove all those plastic panels like I do on my pcx 150 to check the valves. I’m getting tired of spending 40 minutes to take panels off to do a 10 minute job and then 40 minutes to put it back together. Was looking at the adv or super cub
Howdy, Paul! Thanks for watching and leaving feedback! Yes, the maintenance on the ADV150 will be equally painful (if not moreso) than it is on the PCX150. I wish that Honda could have designed a maintenance panel in the trunk tray or center body panels to make that job easier. Sometimes I wonder if it's not easier to drop the entire powertrain than to strip all of the Tupperware from these bikes! 🤣 The Super Cub's valve maintenance is easier, but clearance is still limited. You can watch that process here if you're interested: th-cam.com/video/GSxi4kdy2SY/w-d-xo.html . Revoving the Cub's leg shield is a giant PITA as well ( th-cam.com/video/k1ri2ZEX9JI/w-d-xo.html ), but you won't need to go that far for routine maintenance. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

I haven't had the opportunity to ride the PCX160 yet, but I will certainly do a video on that when it happens. I might be trading one of my scoots to get the ADV160 when it arrives sometime next year. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
can you tell me about your hitch carrier, Im looking to get the 150, and was thinking of a trailer, but i see your hitch carrier and probably would feel better with a carrier than a trailer. I didn't think the scooter would be able to fit a carrier. any help appreciated.
Howdy, Ray! I purchased that Haul-Master carrier from Harbor Freight several years ago on sale for $99.99. They don't seem to carry that all-steel model anymore, but they've replaced it with an aluminum version: www.harborfreight.com/400-lb-receiver-mount-aluminum-motorcycle-carrier-62837.html You can get the exact same steel version from Amazon here: amzn.to/3IlPJI9 . It's rated to carry 500 pounds, but I wouldn't recommend anything over 400 pounds just for safety. The benefit of this steel model is that it uses a torqued mount on the reciver hitch to prevent it from tipping/wiggling around in the receiver on the vehicle. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
Unfortunately, we don't have many of those great small-displacement scooters and motorcycles here in the USA. I wish that we could have the Zoomer-X here instead of the Navi, but I'm happy for any new alternatives that we receive! Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

Hey, thanks for the review. When you're comparing the 2022 ADV to the PCX, are you referring to the 2015 PCX that you have there? I've watched quite a few reviews comparing newer PCX to newer ADVs and in general they suggest that the new PCX has a softer more compliant suspension than the ADV.
Great real world video comparisons. I have a 2011 Ruckus and a very rare 2010 Elite 110 both stock. The Elite does 55 MPH so perfect for urban streets. Debating on adding the ADV150 to the stable but dealers in my state are literally getting one at a time, selling at a mark up and they are sold as soon as they come in. Wish Honda offered at least two color choices instead of one. A charcoal metallic grey would be nice along with the the Rose Red for 22. The ADV350 sold in other markets would be about $6-$7k here so that’s probably why Honda isn’t bringing it here yet. That’s serious coin for a scooter. You can also get a CBR300R non ABS for about $4,700 or same price as the ADV150 and it will do 90MPH but it’s a 6 speed motorcycle. Decisions, decisions
Great review I'm in Thailand about to pull the trigger on a new scooter. The Yamaha N-Max and Aerox are OUT. I'm almost certain I'll get one of the following Honda's; PCX160, ADV160, or possibly even the Forza350. However, right now I'm leaning towards the PCX160.
@@Jorge-jk5xr I had to try a few scooters out over these last months. I'm currently riding a Yamaha Qbix 125, it's a great bike with big cargo space under the seat. Maybe the N-Max is okay but the ADV-160 is extremely popular especially since it has better suspension. I don't ride on the highway very often and when I do it's only for a few KM's. So for me I'm riding small streets and shortcuts through alleyways the Qbix 125 is perfect for this reason. Small 125 CC scooters are better than big scooters as their easy to park, maneuver through small spaces, etc. Of course if you're bigger than 200lb. I would recommend a 150/160CC. My next door neighbor has a Forza 350 but he's really a big guy around 230lb. Finally, after months of riding I realize how dangerous riding in Thailand truly is..I've decided to never go over 40KM per hour ever again..much better chance for survival. GL!
I'm hoping to purchase a 2022 ADV 150 in the next month or two. I'm interested in the cycle carrier you have mounted on the hitch of your truck in the first segment. Would you share the make/model, weight rating, etc. on it please, and would you recommend buying? I'm trying to decide on one. A lot of mixed reviews on various models making it difficult to decide. Any problems or helpful hints in loading? Thanks in advance. Liked and subscribed.

Agreed! Maybe that clear vinyl "bra" for sports cars would be a good protector in the center tunnel. Or maybe even skateboard deck (grip) tape for some texture to help hold a tunnel bag in place. 😉👍 --QM
I think that it will fit, but I haven't verified it yet. The only concern that I have is regarding the cable ferrule on the end of the parking brake cable... it might be a non-standard size that won't fit into the hole in the ADV150's brake lever. Otherwise, it should be a direct swap. The real kicker is that the entire ADV150 assembly is over $150 USD after you add up the pieces (e.g., perch/mount, lever, locking lever, etc). Honda is REALLY proud of their prices on those parts. 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotardSo it turns out that the Navi in Mexico and Latin America has a full size lever, that also has the parking latch. I'm trying to get a part number for it, also not sure if US parking latch will work with it or if that would need to be replaced with lever as well.
I scrolled fast forward, did you say the millage per tank ? The 2022 super cub does 150 miles per tank... you said it's new but has a motor noise that you don't know where it's coming from ? Maybe I will buy a bigger bike 🏍...
I didn't ride the ADV150 long enough to put a full tank of fuel through it, but I suspect that it will have similar range as the PCX150... around 200 miles. The 2019-2021 Cubs can achieve 130+ miles per gallon (per tank), but they need to be ridden conservatively to see those figures. I suspect that the 2022 Cub will be slightly more efficient, but 150 mpg will be a stretch. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
Thanks for the feedback, and congrats on your upcoming ADV150! They are great fun to ride, and the fuel economy is a huge win with today's fuel prices. 😉👍 --QM
Probably more practical than the Honda Trail, but still I think it's off-road capability is probably grass and dirt roads. For guys like you who like the long haul I think it would be great, especially with your trailer. 🤠
Hi Quasi. I am new to H town area. I live in Montgomery County. I am looking for a recommendation on Scooter maintenance on my 2013 Honda Silver wing 600cc. Know any trustworthy shops or dealerships? Thanks in advance.
Howdy, Scott! Congrats on the SWing... that's a great scoot! I have a 2004 SWing in the stable that needs to get back on the road soon. I do most of my own service, so I haven't sought out a good scooter shop in a while. My local dealer, Wild West Motoplex in Katy, does a good job. Shop labor rates have gone through the roof lately ($120/hr and up), so I typically do everything myself. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
Hi -- I'm interested in the windshield on the 150PCX (I have a 2019 and don't like the wind at all). Can you provide any recommendation/source, and did you modify it any? Thanks in advance.
The screen that I have on my 2015 PCX150 is the National Cycle VStream Sport Touring (medium height): www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/national-cycle-vstream-sport-touring-windscreen-honda-pcx150-2014-2018?sku_id=1161414 . The equivalent screen for your 2019 PCX should be the "Tall Touring Replacement Screen": www.nationalcycle.com/n50005.html . I'm 5'7" (170 cm), and I like the height of this screen, but I think that the Tall Touring screen would work better to reduce helmet turbulence. The one for the 2019 PCX should be the "Extra Tall Touring Replacement Screen": www.nationalcycle.com/n50006.html . Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
I've tried a test ride on the ADV150 last week actually and those OEM tyres are really good for as far as OEM tyres go. This bike is a really good city runabout, and maybe occasionally go for an offroad detour. The suspension and tyres will handle about the same offroad as an OEM CT125 will i think, but just be careful of that ground clearance Also,i just tried the Honda Forza 750 yesterday(had an off day and went to my usual dealership near where i live and hung around to look at the bikes then the sales guy asked if i wanted to try "the most powerful scooter in store"). That scooter is nuts...
Thanks for the feedback! I tried to squeeze my oversized Schuberth C3 Pro in there, but it didn't fit. I forgot to add that footage to the video. I think that my newer SHOEI NeoTec II would fit under there without any problems because the NeoTec's shell size is a bit more compact than the C3. That C3 helmet shell is quite large, and I also have my GoPro camera mount and the Cardo PackTalk mounts hanging off of the front & side. Those add-ons make it nearly impossible to shove the helmet into anything except my SHAD SH39 top case. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
I haven't heard any news of the PCX being discontinued. The latest PCX has a 160cc engine, and Honda decided to drop the numbers; so it's called the "PCX" now instead of the "PCX160" ( powersports.honda.com/motorcycle/scooter/pcx ). We're still waiting for the USA release of the ADV160 to replace the ADV150... maybe we'll hear about that in Honda's March 2023 release. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
I’ve got a cheap 150cc gy6 Chinese scooter that does tops 50mph. Are these Honda faster because of the better engine? I’m 5’10” and 240lbs, do I need more then 150cc to get me to 70mph?
Quick follow up, Put a deposit down on a 2022 PCX, wont be here till next month, and I have to drive to Ohio to pick it up. Thank you for the comparison.
Howdy! I didn't ride the ADV150 long enough to form any opinions on the OEM suspension. I'm sure that it will soften-up after a few miles and not be quite as firm. Otherwise, I think the spring rates and damping suits my riding weight very well (170 pounds, 77 kg). Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
Th ADV150 is more comfortable and has better ergonomics and suspension. The PCX150 is slightly faster and more economical. So, it boils down to your preference on looks and where you will be riding most of the time ... PCX for smooth back highways, ADV for in-town and any rough roads (or light off-road work). --QM
@hippo-potamus The new ADV160 is slightly lower and narrower than the previous ADV150. In either case, the seat height is slightly higher, and the handlebars are much taller. The ADV feels much more planted on the road due to the wider tires and handlebars. --QM
Keep in mind that this review was with a 2015 PCX150 with the older engine. The new PCX is a 160cc 4-valve engine with more power, and it also has updated suspension compared to my older 2015 PCX. 😉👍 --QM
Howdy, Chris! We'd love to have you along for a ride anytime. I try to post community updates here on TH-cam and also on my Discord server whenever I javelin an upcoming ride. You can reach out to me on any of those platforms or via email ( quasimotard@gmail.com), to coordinate a meet-up. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
The shocks on my 2015 PCX are the YSS Z-Series shocks (no external reservoirs, can't find part numbers), and my 2016 PCX has the YSS G-Sport with the separate reservoirs and higher spring rates (P/N: TG302-335TRJ-04). I purchased them through Bikerz Bits in Thailand ( bikerzbits.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=pcx+yss ), but you might be able to source them cheaper on eBay. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@dinospumoni8860 Considering your weight, I would definitely recommend the YSS G-Sport series (works equally well on the 2015 or 2016 PCX). You can crank up the preload to compensate for your weight and the scooter's "rider sag" to keep the available suspension travel in the 60% range. If you're interested, you might want to watch the process in a recent video of mine on the Rebel 1100: th-cam.com/video/-3sVtI69izE/w-d-xo.html . Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
Honda doesn't make a touring windscreen for the ADV150, but several aftermarket manufacturers do. Kevin purchased a slightly taller/wider screen on Amazon (see his video here: th-cam.com/video/kKUx69qVUWg/w-d-xo.html ). He told me that the new screen works better than the OEM unit, but it's still not large enough for comfortable highway touring... so he's still looking for another alternative. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
I notice immediately your voice variation riding over even ripples compared to listening to you narrating while winding out on the Super Cub. I can feel the ADV stiffness just listening ;-)
OK so that intro was hilarious! LMAO, been a while since I laughed out loud. Thanks! Owned a scooter back in early 80"s Yamaha Riva 185, I think? Miss the little scoot and considering this one for a city bike. Must be a good pal, not sure he'd get it if it was in my garage. LOL
What weights did you put in with the variator? Did this affect your gas mileage at all? Any other affects from the install? Is it difficult to install?
You can watch a re-installation video of the Dr.Pulley variator here: th-cam.com/video/gz3CZIis54Y/w-d-xo.html . The installation is very straightforward and only requires a few tools. I currently have 14g Dr.Pulley sliders in the variator right now, but it previously had 12g sliders. The fuel economy wasn't negatively impacted at all, and it might have increased slightly as long as I'm not riding above 55 MPH. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
What are your thoughts on running your scooter at higher speeds? Also, is the main purpose of installing the different variator to gain higher speeds? Sorry for all the questions.
That locking brake assembly on the ADV is virtually the same as the one on my 87 TRX 125. It's crazy they had to engineer some silly parking brake thing on the PCX when a piece of metal with a notch would suffice.
Exactly! I recognized that mechanism from Honda's other 4-wheelers. I'm not sure why they tried to reinvent the wheel with the PCX's parking brake system. I'm taking a short break from my motorcycle projects for a few weeks, but that ADV150 lever and perch will be installed on the PCX's and the NAVI very soon! Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
Update: 12g rollers, not 3g.
What is your weight? I’m probably heavier than you, but would be satisfied with 60-65 top speed and 50ish cruise.

Awesome, thanks for info. I been looking into scooters so I can get around and work, as well as be more mobile. This scooter seems like a perfect fit. Just wish it looked more like the rugged
I thought this would get 130MPG if used appropriately.
Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
I’m thinking of getting the adv 150 but do you have to take most of the body panels off to check the valves like on my pcx 150?
@@paulstanley3265 Unfortunately, yes... the center plastics and trunk tray must be removed to access the top of the engine for the valve check. I'll be doing the maintenance on my PCX150 sometime soon, so I'll be sure to share that whole process from beginning to end. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard ... and, did the valves need adjusting?
VERY thorough comparison, well done! I am going tomorrow to buy my wife a ADV 150. She doesn't want to pull in a clutch and shift so this is what I came up with for her. Hopefully this fits the bill. I own 22 motorcycles (yes, I know that's crazy, but I don't have kids so bikes are my happy place) I will come back and let you know her and my thoughts. Blessings to all...

I gave my 1995 Trumpet 1200/4 Trophy to the best friend, and genius mechanic,
I Think have ever known. I think it’s a good idea for if it, he’s just got the stuff that that it would take to get a the first Trophy 1200/4 into a proper showplace! That was my favourite thing I ever had, and it has a great History to me and my pal Gregory Anderson!
Thanks again Buddy!

Owner of a 2022 pcx, but I've ridden the ADV. It is slower, and the ride height felt weird. Glad I went with the pcx instead
I'm also Yamaha biased and looking to get the nmax
19:43 for Seat Height comparison. He states the ADV150 feels 1-1.5 inches taller since he is on both tip toes with 29.5-30in inseam. The main reason I'm looking at these is because it's for a shorter rider and all scooters with bigger engine are too tall. I ride a Yamaha Majesty 400
just got my 22 pcx with the 157 cc hit 75 mph yesterday with no issues
you were having WAY too much fun on that bumpy road 🤣🤣
thanks for the look. I'm a big guy so the better suspension and brake makes me want the ADV
Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
the doggo just sleeping in the background in the beginning 😪
Looking for my first Scoot and was really interested in the XMAX, but i test rode the ADV150 in Hot Springs AR and really liked it. The wife was digging the PCX on the showroom floor. So i was glad to see your comparison video. Great stuff. I subbed and dinged. Thanks!
Do you own an ADV? Can you recommend a good phone mount for my scooter / Honda ADV ?
Howdy! I don't own the ADV150 (yet). However, I use the Quad Lock system on all of my motorcycles and scooters with great success. You can see the Quad Lock system in action on my Honda Super Cub during my 2021 Scooter Cannonball adventure, which survived 10K brutal highway and off-road miles without incident: th-cam.com/play/PLLXxDh3JumLnSK37lF4AcrF28frAIfLfA.html
Another example is on my Honda PCX150 during the recent 2023 Scooter Cannonball: th-cam.com/play/PLLXxDh3JumLnX1mjsF0BtAmV0IqEVaAAE.html
The full Quad Lock solution is a bit spendy, but it's very secure and the convenience can't be beat: there are no charging cables to attach, and it works in the rain! Here are the links to the various pieces if you're interested:
- Quad Lock Motorcycle Vibration Dampener: amzn.to/3huKyLt
- Quad Lock 1" Ball Adapter Mount: amzn.to/3hqLvEl
- Quad Lock Weatherproof Wireless Charging Head: amzn.to/46gl5x5
- RAM 1" double socket arm: amzn.to/2SZOgmD
- RAM B-272U 9mm Angled Bolt Head Adapter: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0012TRIY4 (placed under mirror perches)
- RAM B-376U motorcycle handlebar clamp base: amzn.to/3BAKswi (handlebar clamp or any M8 bolt)
I use the RAM ball and the Quad Lock 1" ball adapter for a more flexible mounting system. I can swap cameras, GPS, phone, or other accessories onto the RAM balls whenever necessary. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard Thank you!
i was thinking about this ( but the 2025 which is now 160 ) and close to pressing the button on it when i realized im prolly better off not bothering and just being happy with my Trail 125. they sure make it hard to get what you want at a Honda dealership these days... i would never ride a passenger on the back again ( so of course ppl would be asking with this ) after what happened with my 81' express ( accident when dude jumped off and pushed me in to traffic )... there is the slight higher speed and the alarm that makes it desirable tho but honestly i like the back rack so its a tough call. thanks for the videos as always man !!!
Wow are adv available in usa what about xadv 750 and honda forza and yamaha xmax are they available in usa yet?
😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard thanks, good looking scoot
Great comparison. I wish you had a ADV150 for some roadtrips to hear some touring reviews. Thoroughly enjoy your content Quasi keep up the good work. Cheers from South Australia 🍻
I love the adv 150 but man I wish we'd atleast get the bigger cc as an option like the adv350 or something
Good news is, it's just lunched, the 350 version.
😉👍 --QM
Just sold my 250!
The long answer is below:
*Ergonomics*:
In my opinion, the ADV150's ergonomics are better than the PCX for most riders of average height (e.g., 5'4" or taller).
*Road Manners & Brakes*:
The ADV's road manners are better due to its larger tires, better suspension & brakes, and wide/flat handlebars.
*Economy & Reliability*:
The PCX's bodywork is more streamlined and aerodynamic than the ADV, so it gets much better fuel economy than the ADV (although the newer 4-valve PCX160's are reportedly a bit thirsty).
I love your "vocal bump monitor". Hilarious! Nice review - thanks!
I live near Columbus , any ideas on a go to dealership in this area ?
I was wondering: does the PCX in the US come with hazard lights?
Thanks!
hey Quasi, where'd did you get the rear rack and top case for the PCX?
Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard thanks a bunch! I just bought a PCX and was disappointed that it had a faulty parking brake. Apparently they all do!
Looking at these two, I’m a beginner and just looking around and trying to do research, definitely just wanting one to have fun and using it for short commutes, nothing expensive or crazy, think the adv 150 fits the bill but definitely going to continue to search around to keep my options open
Great comparison video. Love that ADV. I wonder how the new PCX 160 ABS is in comparison to the ADV.
This! I've yet to find a good comparison review. And those are the two scooters I am torn between.
You can find lots of service information in the online forums and also on my free Discord server: discord.gg/DfC97FU
I also recommend installing a Gold Plug MP-01 magnetic drain bolt: amzn.to/3wUITnw .
🤔 Hmmm... I would inspect the following items in order of likelihood:
- start/stop switch on the handlebar (set to the ON/RUN position)
- side stand switch (stand needs to be in the up/closed position)
- battery voltage above 12.8V
- try your second keyless remote fob
- tip-over sensor
Try toggling the start/stop switch off and in a few times, and also flip the kickstand down and up to see if that clears the switches.
😉👍 --QM
Would Adv150 be ok choice for occasional 200-300km trip with speeds of 75-80kmh, plus regular city driving?

@@QuasiMotard Thank you for the info and links
That wind screen should adjust up higher.knobs on the side
Awsome news. Its 2023.. Honda gave us a ( killer upgrade with 10 more cc's now it's it a 160cc .. the wind shield is bigger & adjustable .. the storage is bigger now.. the digital instrument cluster has nice upgrades and control buttons..! As if that wasn't enough ?.. feeling other stuff too;
I almost bought a ADV, then i tested the new PCX 160 2021.
I only got my pcx 160 up to 68 mph hoe you get it to 85?? Mines totally stock
Cutout on the windscreen because the 350 model have Levers brush covers and they would hit the screen without the cutouts.
Interesting. So do we know if the ADV150 and ADV350 share the same windscreen, or is it just the same aesthetics and design philosophy? 👍 --QM
I think a small set of marine speakers and a water proof head unit if they make one would be a great edition have some music to listen to.
Having buying with only 12 miles you saved all the destination fees and dealerships set up fee also. Great deal. I love mine.👍
I just wish you could get a tall national windshield for it. The national Pcx windshield is amazing!
Watch to total video but didn’t hear anything on the transmission.. Maybe I missed it, there was some child noise.. Does it have a Honda magic or a CVT compared to the PCX? I believe the Suzuki Berman has a CVT and they offer a 400cc engine.
we want to ride around country side no highways is bike comfortable with two riders? looking to purchase ADV. anyone know?
What brand are your jacket and gloves, are they comfortable in the summer?
Howdy, Clive! I wear mostly textile-mesh riding gear throughout the year here in Houston, TX. Here is the short list for reference:
Jacket: Fly Racing Flux Air Mesh amzn.to/3uNfz3t
Gloves: Olympia 734 Digital Protector mesh gloves amzn.to/3HtjY0y
Boots: TCX Explorer EVO GoreTex amzn.to/3O1RWuE
Socks: Darn Tough Micro Crew Ultra-light amzn.to/3P7l2tZ
The jacket and gloves flow a lot of air while moving, but they can get stuffy while stopped in traffic.
I need to pay for shipping back to Vermont, but that's a minimal expense: darntough.com/pages/our-unconditional-lifetime-guarantee
Good luck shopping, and I hope you find a good fit! Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
Can you put the same tires on the pcx that are on the adv ?
The adv 150 is a surprisingly comfortable ride. Those suspensions are really good at handling potholes.
Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard Yes i have been looking for Sliverwing how do you like it ? i see thay have a 400 & 600 . But im very happy with the Forza 350 i love the motor movement on the windscreen a flip of a swich and it goes up or down and very fast the pick up .
The Super Cub's valve maintenance is easier, but clearance is still limited. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
I'm looking for my first bike,I am 61yo can you ride a 160 and tell us the difference. I have no place to check out close to home every honda place is at least a 100 miles away. Thank also I'm 5ft 7in about 215 #s
I haven't had the opportunity to ride the PCX160 yet, but I will certainly do a video on that when it happens. I might be trading one of my scoots to get the ADV160 when it arrives sometime next year. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard looking forward to the video. Thanks for your time, be safe out there.
can you tell me about your hitch carrier, Im looking to get the 150, and was thinking of a trailer, but i see your hitch carrier and probably would feel better with a carrier than a trailer. I didn't think the scooter would be able to fit a carrier. any help appreciated.
Howdy, Ray! I purchased that Haul-Master carrier from Harbor Freight several years ago on sale for $99.99. They don't seem to carry that all-steel model anymore, but they've replaced it with an aluminum version: www.harborfreight.com/400-lb-receiver-mount-aluminum-motorcycle-carrier-62837.html
You can get the exact same steel version from Amazon here: amzn.to/3IlPJI9 . It's rated to carry 500 pounds, but I wouldn't recommend anything over 400 pounds just for safety. The benefit of this steel model is that it uses a torqued mount on the reciver hitch to prevent it from tipping/wiggling around in the receiver on the vehicle. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard Thanks for the response, will add the link to amazon to my list . Cheers
you should try Honda beat ISS 2022 only 110cc scooter, very popular in Indonesia. The design looks like honda vario junior.

I've watched quite a few reviews comparing newer PCX to newer ADVs and in general they suggest that the new PCX has a softer more compliant suspension than the ADV.
have you found a review of the new pcx in english?
I'm in the market for a scooter in Thailand as well. This figuring out what's best for me. Why's the N-Max out? I'm torn between N-Max and the ADV

I'd definitely vinyl wrap the inside floorboards area!
Agreed! Maybe that clear vinyl "bra" for sports cars would be a good protector in the center tunnel. Or maybe even skateboard deck (grip) tape for some texture to help hold a tunnel bag in place. 😉👍 --QM
Do you think that ADV150 parking lever will work to replace the stubby rear/parking brake lever on the Navi?
Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
Thanks for the great vid! I'm planning to buy an ADV150 this week. It sure looks like fun to ride.
Thanks for the feedback, and congrats on your upcoming ADV150! They are great fun to ride, and the fuel economy is a huge win with today's fuel prices. 😉👍 --QM
Looks fun as hell! Nice video Quasi!
I LOVE DCT AND CVT SYSTEMS. NOW I CAN USE A BIKE IN THE CITY . NO JOY CHANGING GEARS IN MANHATTAN. I THINK YOU SOLD ME ON THE ADV.
Probably more practical than the Honda Trail, but still I think it's off-road capability is probably grass and dirt roads.
For guys like you who like the long haul I think it would be great, especially with your trailer. 🤠
It's nice to see this scooter to have a tour across America just like other Honda scooter
Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard Thanks for the info ... . . .
I've tried a test ride on the ADV150 last week actually and those OEM tyres are really good for as far as OEM tyres go. This bike is a really good city runabout, and maybe occasionally go for an offroad detour. The suspension and tyres will handle about the same offroad as an OEM CT125 will i think, but just be careful of that ground clearance
Also,i just tried the Honda Forza 750 yesterday(had an off day and went to my usual dealership near where i live and hung around to look at the bikes then the sales guy asked if i wanted to try "the most powerful scooter in store"). That scooter is nuts...
Greetings from Turkey, what are the sales prices of these engines in your country? because it is too expensive for us.
Nice review! Did you try to fit a full size helmet in the storage of the ADV?
Thanks for the feedback! I tried to squeeze my oversized Schuberth C3 Pro in there, but it didn't fit. I forgot to add that footage to the video. I think that my newer SHOEI NeoTec II would fit under there without any problems because the NeoTec's shell size is a bit more compact than the C3.
That C3 helmet shell is quite large, and I also have my GoPro camera mount and the Cardo PackTalk mounts hanging off of the front & side. Those add-ons make it nearly impossible to shove the helmet into anything except my SHAD SH39 top case. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard Thank you! This helps a lot :)
Where can I get that windshield for my pcx ?
Is Honda doing away with the PCX ?
Thanks for the feedback, Bob, and congrats on your upcoming PCX! 😉👍 --QM
hi. could you talk about upgrading the shocks,do you feel like the oem shocks from Honda ,need to be upgraded from factory?
Howdy! I didn't ride the ADV150 long enough to form any opinions on the OEM suspension. I'm sure that it will soften-up after a few miles and not be quite as firm. Otherwise, I think the spring rates and damping suits my riding weight very well (170 pounds, 77 kg). Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
AVD150 will be my next bike for sure.. love the efficiency, comfort and looks.
Thanks for the great video! How tall are you?
Thanks for watching and leaving feedback! My riding height is 5'7" (plus helmet height) and my with all riding gear is ~170 pounds. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
So wtf is the conclusion? Would you rather take the pcx or the adv?
Th ADV150 is more comfortable and has better ergonomics and suspension. The PCX150 is slightly faster and more economical. So, it boils down to your preference on looks and where you will be riding most of the time ... PCX for smooth back highways, ADV for in-town and any rough roads (or light off-road work). --QM
@@QuasiMotard Thanks. For some reason the 2023 ADV left a lot bigger when I got on it at the dealer than my 2011 pcx 125.
@hippo-potamus The new ADV160 is slightly lower and narrower than the previous ADV150. In either case, the seat height is slightly higher, and the handlebars are much taller. The ADV feels much more planted on the road due to the wider tires and handlebars. --QM
Thanks for doing this. Looking at a 2021 PCX vs a 2022ADV going to dealer later to have a look.
Keep in mind that this review was with a 2015 PCX150 with the older engine. The new PCX is a 160cc 4-valve engine with more power, and it also has updated suspension compared to my older 2015 PCX. 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard Thanks, understood. Dealer has a 2021 PCX and a 2022 ADV

Do you by chance have a part number for those yss shocks? I got a 2015 pcx and have issues bottoming out cuz I weight 315lbs.
Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
@@QuasiMotard which do you prefer. Sounds like the ones on the 2016 are nicer and from what the internet tells me will work on the 2015.
Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
Do they make a taller windscreen for it?

LOL
New pcx it’s as same or even better
The PCX 160 is now in the US I think 🤔
That locking brake assembly on the ADV is virtually the same as the one on my 87 TRX 125. It's crazy they had to engineer some silly parking brake thing on the PCX when a piece of metal with a notch would suffice.
Exactly! I recognized that mechanism from Honda's other 4-wheelers. I'm not sure why they tried to reinvent the wheel with the PCX's parking brake system. I'm taking a short break from my motorcycle projects for a few weeks, but that ADV150 lever and perch will be installed on the PCX's and the NAVI very soon! Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
ADV150 is cool but a very slightly used crf250 rally kicks it's arse, which is why I bought one, black/silver not the red.
I wonder how they would do going up Montegal?
