I'm a very happy ADV150 owner. The Aussie version has dual disc brakes, no park-brake, and an idling stop switch. I've crashed mine once in a patch of sand on a mountain trail, but otherwise it has held up very well during anything I've thrown at it so far. I feel absolutely spoiled by the under-seat storage. I'm a scooter convert now.

I like that the manufacturers are bringing more entry level products to market. Its a critical move for the future of moto's as less young people are riding than in the past. To address this trend they need the price point and ease of use to be on the lower end of the spectrum. I think the ADV 150 is a move in the right direction.
I have this bike, done about 5000 kilometers on it. Had 2 scooters before and a 250 Kawasaki boss motorbike. Not super experienced but an ok rider. Have to say, the Honda ADV 150 is the best by far. I bought it in Thailand and have gone on long trips, on very twisty mountain roads, long twisty, and very rough roads. And great LED lights. It really is a fantastic, fun bike to ride, even with a passenger. The bike comes with a rear disk brake in Thailand. Great in town too, . It's never going to compete with a Africa twin, but it isn't meant to.
I'm from the US but live in Thailand now , our ADV 150 comes with rear disc brakes and costs about $3,000---$3,300 new. Wish Honda would do an upgrade and make an ADV 300---350

In Thailand there is no parking hand brake lock on the ADV-150 or the PCX-160. I think they are imported. The PCX-160 seat is 1” lower and better for commuting on bitumen roads, that caused my Thai lady to choose the PCX-160. My old PCX-150 would wind up to 70 MPH. New one not run in. Both Bikes new, around USD $3,700 with extras on the road, drive away. The ADV-150 is smoother on the throttle, I think it is higher geared. Both our new bikes came with extras including metal foot plates which really give great foot grip. The worst aspect of scooters is the lack of foot pegs to stand on for balance and handling on rough ground. The second is wheels too small and hard short travel suspension. This is the great improvement of the ADV-150. Superior suspension for rough road handling. The fully automatic CVT transmission makes riding so easy. I was told the left hand is the dual brake and the right hand is the rear only brake. The lack of ABS on the back allows for handling options on dirt tracks, but I am not an advanced off road rider. I will have to test this. I cannot read my handbook, it is in Thai, ไทย 🇹🇭. No English handbook available.

One thing that I might add for this scooter is that this is a design from the Honda Thailand. Great video review. I’ve been back and forth between this and the trail 125. Does Honda make a rear luggage or rack system fir these bikes. Thank you. James
Very different machines. Grom is more engaging, more fun and has better aftermarket support. ADV is definitely more practical as a commuter.. Mini-motos scare me a little on the highway so if I had to pick one for highway it would be the ADV150. If you're doing lots of hwy miles you're going to want more power though-Alex
They both had the 149. Then they updated the pcx with the 156, now the new adv 160 (not 150) has the same engine as the pcx again. There was only one year where they had different engines.
The whole engine goes up and down every time you hit a bump, the engine and complete rear wheel is suspended only on two aluminum pivot points and the two rear shocks. If you jump it too hard don’t be surprised one day that your whole engine and rear wheel separate from the scooter and your sliding down the trail on your face.
The worst part is the bike is just a loaner for the review! Reminds me of my son. Couldn’t get to the store and back on my Honda silverwing scooter without wrecking it into a parked car!!! Seriously? Sorry..Can't agree that the PCX is ugly or that it's for old people. When the design came out it was innovative and it shared its headlight with the most expensive sport bike. The ADV is an Adventure bike interpretation of that. As far as it being "as aggressive as you're gonna get on a scooter ", I'd advise you to look at the ADV 750. the only thing I don't like is the front turning lights, they would have been better integrated into the front optics
We got rear disc brake here in indonesia, with a way more cheaper prize from you guys.
Excellent review. Quick and to the point. Niiiice!
rear drum break? in our country we do have both rear and front disk brake, front abs
Dude I had those same New Balance shoes! Worst shoes I’ve ever worn in my life! The scooter is pretty sweet tho.
Was just gonna add to this by saying that fir men like me that are 64 years old it would be great , I have a kymco 150 super 8 and it handles easy
Some adv owners told me, if you do sudden hard btaking on this adv. The rear blinker will automaticly flashing very quick to let people behind uou know that youre in emergency braking...do you ever try that? Just curious..
Yes, and it doesn't have to be hard braking. The rear brake light flashes 3 times too
Great video review. I’ve been back and forth between this and the trail 125. Does Honda make a rear luggage or rack system fir these bikes. Thank you. James
Those two bikes are apples to oranges. Not for the same thing at all.
Check out my install and impressions of the OEM Rear Rack and Top Box for the ADV150. th-cam.com/video/jgc91a18Q5Q/w-d-xo.html
Great vid Alex👍ADV150 or Grom for open road like highway use?
Very different machines. Grom is more engaging, more fun and has better aftermarket support. ADV is definitely more practical as a commuter.. Mini-motos scare me a little on the highway so if I had to pick one for highway it would be the ADV150. If you're doing lots of hwy miles you're going to want more power though-Alex

keeping 12v socket so i can travel with 12v air compressor, it could save life sometimes.
Do they make a pannier bag setup that works well with this? I'd want to add those and a rear trunk setup.
Bought one on Amazon years ago. Velcro in the middle.
According to Honda’s website, the PCX has a 156cc engine and the ABB has a 149cc engine
They both had the 149. Then they updated the pcx with the 156, now the new adv 160 (not 150) has the same engine as the pcx again. There was only one year where they had different engines.
don't lean too much the gearbox/air filter on the rear will touch the pavement, that's one reason for some turn crashes
I want one. It looks fun. I wish there were other color options and larger tires
Should've slapped a crash guard on that thing. Unlimited slides.
A 12v outlet is more versatile than a usb port
It's weird that US don't get the rear disc brake version. Any reason for that?
I believe it is because they had to do a parking brake and it was cheaper to do with drum. th-cam.com/video/coJLit0OQV4/w-d-xo.html
Alex it happens to the best of us! Luckily just your pride was bruised! 😀🤕
How’d you dump it? Like what went wrong ?
Yeah, I was thinking maybe he did it on purpose.
The worst part is the bike is just a loaner for the review! Reminds me of my son. Couldn’t get to the store and back on my Honda silverwing scooter without wrecking it into a parked car!!! Seriously? Oh well, it still runs fine and I got so much sympathy from my wife that she bought me a brand new 2020 Harley Davidson Iron 883 I had been drooling over! Can’t complain about that.
Very good review thank you 😊👍🍺🍺
They need to make a 600cc or 700cc version in the USA California to be exact. I'll be first in line to buy it
A 750cc version does exist (which even won the Gibraltar rally race), but I don't know about the availability in the US.
@@hossainalwasi thanks but the problems it's not available in the US. But for now I might go away from gas motorcycle to EV motorcycles like from Zero S.
What do u think caused the crash so I can avoid doing that
wet spot on concrete that was coated / painted slick as snot
the adv150 that was released in my country has both disc brake on front and rear
I would like to see Honda make a ADV 350 for fatter people like me. I don't want the big price ADV 750 so l am thinking about the 150 to park next to my gold wing in the garage. Great review
Dude why did you drop the bike? What happened?
great review, thanks
I'm digging that watch. What is that?
Alex what is a top speed GPS around Boulder area?
I admire the Africa Twin
i just got one of these bikes...and the abs light is stuck flashing....cant seam to fix it.
Best video I’ve seen on it.😁👍
Sorry..Can't agree that the PCX is ugly or that it's for old people. When the design came out it was innovative and it shared its headlight with the most expensive sport bike. The ADV is an Adventure bike interpretation of that. As far as it being "as aggressive as you're gonna get on a scooter ", I'd advise you to look at the ADV 750. Or the Yamaha XMax, etc. Not to mention the large Suzukis
Are you able to change the wheels
in the Philippines... most of the motorcycle dealers in Metro Manila will not let you buy scooters like Yamaha NMAX 2020 or Honda ADV 150 in full payment "CASH" (SRP) you can only own it by FORCE installment 😅
I always pay cash for small purchases. What is force installment?🤔
@@ronsteitz4535 they're gonna force you to go on monthly amortization
Did you noticed the put day before month. Because like the metric system everywhere else does it but the US
I'm just wondering why Honda put a drum brake at the rear side for the NA market where it has both disc brakes on southeast asian market.
I see you get drumbrake adv not rear disk brake version,
Is rear disk adv/pcx only available in Indonesia?
Glad you didn’t get hurt - looks like a fun ride
Love to see Honda design a Vespa looking scooter besides the metropolitan.
I can’t believe my mtb has beefier suspension that this😂☠️
Crashes in perfect weather with no obstacles, says that turning a tight circle on a motorcycle is 'really difficult.' Great job letting this man review bikes TFL, looks like he really knows what he's talking about. 🥴
not !!!!
I like this and the 2022 125 zuma
