    Hi Emma, what are you thoughts about the upseat? Since it’s developed by physical therapist, do you still not recommend it? We’re thinking of using the upseat to help with his first solid food eating

    High chairs don't help your baby learn to sit either, but they are very useful. Same with this product, which I highly recommend. I use it with the tray for many eating and play activities.

    Hello, Emma. Can You please answer me this... What's your opinion about Upseat chair for babies who still doesn't sit independently (only for feeding)? How can we feed with solid food (and take care of their spine) babies if they are not sitting independently and we can not stil use highchairs, in lap or? Thank you for everything! Greetings from Sarajevo! ❤️

    Never had the delusions that it helps teach baby to sit. Literally only used my boys chair when baby was tired of tummy time, I couldn't hold him and his head was getting flat lol the bumbo honestly looks so uncomfortable tho, never used one of those things.

      Baby floor chairs and high chairs are not for teaching your child to sit but it's a place for them to sit up straight with support to eat. I only use them for eating. Of course tummy time is important, but this floor seat works the same as the high chair. So both chairs are very helpful. but only use them for a small amount of time.

    This is abit of a silly video. As if anyone ONLY sits a baby in floor seat when sitting. And for very long periods of time. My baby and every other baby I know, has multiple opportunities daily to sit on different surface with different supports. I personally love the bumbo. To bad mouth a great product is biast. And actually, her sitting in it I place toys on her tray, and she can grab at them alot easier than any other position.

    I have a bumbo and baby has been using it for 3 months.
    Purchased not for the purpose of aiding in sitting up but as a portable chair for feeding.
    It is great for that, we take it to his grandparents and restaurants as he is too small for a high chair.
    It was worth the money for us and I would buy again.

    The bumbo is amazing . We had 5 friends plus myself who had babies at the same time .All of us going on to have 2 or 3 kids . All used the bumbo. My brothers kids used ours after. They never had trouble with anything since . A couple of them are nearing teenagers now. And are perfectly fine . If you worried about everything you would be wrapped up in cotton wool.

      As a physiotherapist I can say that this is definetly harmful for the baby. Those poor hip joints and spine are simply not ready for sitting and this can lead to problems in the future. Child should achieve sitting on his/hers own.

    I’ve been using the sit me up since my baby was about 2 months and the bumbo since 3.5 months. He’s been ahead since the beginning and loves to look around in a sitting position so that’s why I use it. He’s 4.5 months right now and is already starting to sit on his own. As long as you work with them everyday I don’t see the problem in using it. I do lots and lots of floor time.

    • @IkambaDeVictoire
      @IkambaDeVictoire 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Same here. I do a LOT of tummy time, and at 3 months my baby started rolling over. I'm not saying the information in this video is wrong, but I also agree with what you are saying Tabitha. Don't have them in the seats ALL DAY, and continue to do LOTS of tummy time.
      I also just recently purchased the sit me up. I'm a new mom working from home as a Medical Appeals Analyst (essentially a coder) and I have mats and baby bouncers and rockers and all kinds of things around to keep baby entertained, and help me get some work done as well so I can continue to support us both. It's like I'm also a baby daycare, or gym! Haha None of these things sit him up high enough (except his high chair) for him to play while sitting though, which he is showing more and more interest in every day.
      So I am going to use that when it comes in, in moderation, while continuing to do tummy time and I know everything will be just fine with my little one! Every situation is not the same. I believe when used correctly, at the right age (for your child), with caution and careful monitoring, the little ones will grow up just fine! 🙂

      Same. My daughter has always preferred to be propped up so she can see everything. We do lots of tummy time and floor time and we use the floor seat which she loves and we do as well. She is almost 5 months now and can sit unassisted for a few minutes. I always recommend our floor seat, we use the fisher price one it’s our favorite. I still wouldn’t recommend to have them in it for long periods of time but in moderation is fine. Oh and our pediatrician gave the ok.

    I am glad I came across this detailed explanation about these floor seats and I agree with you but I also think it’s kinda helpful for a little time when there is nobody to look after the baby while we do some kitchen work or laundry 🧺 we can keep the baby in the seat for a while especially in small spaces where bouncers can’t be fixed.
    Babies love watching around while we do work but leaving them alone often bores them and we hear them cry it gets difficult to do work then so I think it can be useful but for little time and small spaces to do work

Holding my baby every time I eat/cook/anything really isn’t realistic & the floor isn’t always an option. Other people gave me used bumbo seat, jumper & walkers. I just take anything that they don’t use & make them useful. I have limited physical condition that’s why I can’t carry or play with babies all the time as I wish, so I do need tools to help me such as those stuff. My infant is growing up fine. As long as you don’t put your child in any tool or stuck with 1 activity for hours, he/she is fine. All of my nieces, nephews & friends’ babies used walkers & none of them have bow legs as experts claimed. I think moderate usage is a key.

    I am so grateful for all your videos! My husband and I passed on buying any baby equipment and gave our daughter as much tummy time as we could. She started crawling one week before turning 6 months old and has hit all her milestones early. She lives for floor time and tummy time. While she is still working on sitting she can sit independently for 15-30 seconds max and the topple over to crawl to a different toy. What can I say she loves to explore.

      That's awesome. I'm trying to do the same with my baby who's 14 weeks old. Sometimes I find my girl just wants to be upright though and look around. How did you navigate that?

    • @kaylyndazey2146
      @kaylyndazey2146 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@buu.888 Awe she sound like a curious one, so cute! As soon as my daughter had the proper head strength I would sit on the floor with her placed between my legs and I would support her torso by putting my hands on her ribs. Then I would place some of her favorite toys in front of her to encourage reaching, or I would read to her. I learned all these tips from this video : th-cam.com/video/UkN7j3To-uQ/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=EmmaHubbard
      My daughter is especially curious and loves to explore so she was army crawling before she could sit on her own for long periods of time. From 4-6 months I made sure we practiced sitting together every morning before taking her to daycare, and every evening before we put her to bed. She still prefers crawling to sitting but if she has a toy or is engaging with a caregiver she will sit without support for several minutes or until she gets bored. I also start playtime with her in a sitting position so she can continue to build strength in her core. I hope this helps. Good luck with your little one!

      I honestly can't believe your watching video of a woman telling you what you should and shouldn't do . It's your baby your life. Not all babies / children are the same . You have to fdo what's best for you. They tell you not to let your kids do anything these days. So best to wrap them in cotton wool in a padded room and not let them have a life. Both our daughters went into their own cots in their own rooms at 2 weeks and yes their both still alive and sleep 13 hours all night. They are 12 and 9 .
      They were eating full on meals at 7 months lumps and all. Guess what they love every food no stomach or allergy problems. They slide upside down down the stairs, ride bikes with out helmets just like when we was kids. Stop letting a TH-cam video tell you how to raise your kids . To me this is more dangerous. To you as parents mental health .

    I want to get the Bumbo seat not because it's nice to not have to hold him all the time, I can put him in the seat so he can watch me and observe his surroundings. I think it might be a problem if I left him in the seat all the time

      I was thinking the same thing. My baby loves sitting and hates all other containers unless you’re interacting with him. Sometimes I just need to get something done. I figure this is the same rule as with other containers. Try not to let them be in there for more than 15 min at a time.

She does roll from side to side for short periods and we do several methods of tummy time all of which she doesn't like.

    Im thinking about it but then my baby is already sitting on his own at 5 months. I just put him in a sitting position next to me on the couch with toys in front of him and its so funny watching him lean left and right and readjusting himself while playing. So I decided not to get it..

    • @EmmaHubbard
      @EmmaHubbard  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi @Mone’t Ramos sounds challenging. If you already have a floor seat it is fine to use it for short burst as there are times when we need our bubs to be entertained while we are busy doing jobs. Just make sure the floor seat is on the floor and not the bench or table and you are close by as there is a risk of injury if she falls to the side.

      Try with baby wearing, there are many options on the market. Putting baby in the sitting position can harm her or his spine, it is really dangerous. I have only seen it in American YT videos, no one uses that seat apart from that part of the world.

  • @daphnietudor2953
    @daphnietudor2953 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I love the floor seats. I live in a small space they make a great high chair for starting solids. Also my son could sit at 4 months slightly supported. However I would not use this more than 2 to 3 times a day and no more than 10 to 15min. Bc they can damage their hips. My son did fine he is 2 now and meeting all milestones. He was walking at 11 months. And yes we did use a walker lol twice 😂 he was too tall :( and flipped over so it went out the door.

    • @Carlie_flower
      @Carlie_flower 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should look into getting a "highchair" that sits in the seat of a chair. They are really great for apartments and definitely better than a bumbo for baby to sit in and eat. They have a little try and everything. I found mine at the thrift store 😁

    Would love to know what you think about the Ingenuity Baby Base 2-in-1 Booster Feeding and Floor Seat - used for feeding instead of a highchair after the baby can sit by themselves? Thank you! ❤

  • @justin5538
    @justin5538 ปีที่แล้ว

    Would you say that the Bumbo is a good alternative to a high chair? Simply for eating? Or not good to use at all?

    • @EmmaHubbard
      @EmmaHubbard  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Justin, a high chair is the best option when introducing solids, as it is better to have a seat where the backrest extends past their head for support.
      But if space is limited and you would prefer to use a floor seat, the Ingenuity Baby Base 2-in-1 Seat is better than a bumbo. The bumbo seat tilts backwards which means the baby leans backwards and this makes it more difficult for them to use their hands to pick up food. Also the leg slots are narrower in a bumbo which means it doesn't fit the child for long at all.

  • @nitoygo

    how about Upseat baby floor/booster seat?

  • @elizabethcopley4584
    @elizabethcopley4584 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't know if its just because we use cloth diapers but my baby wouldn't even fit in the bumbo we were gifted not that it bothered me because I hate the things but the fisher price sit me up really did come in handy as my baby had excellent head control by two months and would get so upset if she wasn't in a seated position aside from me actively playing with her during tummy/back time and it was so difficult to keep her happy while I was doing things like eat or wash a few bottles. Also as per our pediatricians advice she's been allowed to sleep through the night with no night feedings since two months and barely needs naps most days so I couldn't even clean during naps if I didn't have her sit me up, bouncer and swing because she gets bored so quickly some days I have to move her from one to the other if I need more than five minutes to eat

    My baby is almost 5 months now, unfortunately he had a torticollis and now we are trying to get rid of flat head. That's the reason we try to limit him lying on his back as much as possible. He does some tummy time but of course he can't do it all day long (to be honest he is not a fun of it). What do you recommend in this situation? We sre trying to hold and carry him as much as possible. I thought bumbo seat will help us and he won't be needing to lay flat on his back.
