My dad is a expert in this... He was the one who made me sleep very deeply and I still see him do the same with other kids.. He really makes everyone sleep.. sometimes with soft voice. Sometimes shaking them. Sometimes he turns them and shakes. Sometimes he do something that can make them sleepy in a crying or angry moment of kids.....
Have raised 10 newborns, and THIS is SO important and true. Some don't need all five S's but other need them all in the extreme to settle. Babies love swaddling. Never met a baby swaddled correctly with the five S's who didn't benefit from it. They will sleep SO much longer if you swaddle them.
I thankfully didn't struggle with my child when he was newborn. He barely cried and just made noises to let people know he's awake. If he did cry, a shush was enough. He slept so well and so did I.
@@chabelyarismendy4311 that doesn’t really matter.. my pregnancy was sort of calm but definitely had it’s stressful moments and my baby was born very healthy and only cries when she’s hungry and fusses when her tummy is bothering her and she needs to burp… itching too extravagant
I always put our 4 babies to sleep on their side & blocked their body so they couldn't roll into their stomach. So if they spit up while in their bed, they couldn't choke on it if stuck on their back. They often feel asleep nursing while I slept on my side, the baby on the outside of the bed not between us. Only for a couple weeks. As soon as they could sleep ok in their own room, yay! 5 weeks with me with our first baby. 4 weeks with #2. 3 weeks with #3, and I got the 4th trained in only 2 weeks to sleep in the baby's room. I did have a bassinet next to my bed to help with training. I found that one arm down straight & one arm up was the most soothing, but unfortunately that allowed thumb sucking to become a habit for too many years, so if I had it to do over, I would do both arms down!
I’ve just had my 4th hes 3 weeks old. My best advice for getting to sleep?! Make sure ALL wind is brought up first. I’ve always sleep trained good habits from day one or I’ll go insane. You can never spoil a newborn anyway so if it means you have to put baby on your chest to hear your heart beating to get them to sleep then so be it :) enjoy these moments
Same here. Comparing my sons birth weight and size vs his 3 month old weight and size I can confidently say I would have been ripped open from top to bottom 😂
I’ve been doing it right all along 😊 My baby boy sleeps longer when he is being swaddled with a pacifier sometimes without. After I freshen him up by wiping with a cloth soaked in warm water, I feed him and 15 minutes after feeding and burping, I would just put him on the bed and he will just sleep on his own.
You should only do these tricks for babies who are 3 months old or younger :) you do it less and less as they get older until you can hopefully lay them down and they’ll just sleep. (As if!)
My 2 year old slept in a swing was rocked to sleep or slept in bed with me now first the first 7 months at 7 months she started pushing away from laying in bed with me so I’d rock her and put her in her crib at around a year she started fighting being rocked so I’d put her in bed and hold her hand when we moved her to a toddler bed at 18 months she told me night night leave so I left her in her bed and left the room and she’s gone to sleep with no crying ever since each baby is different and will develop independence on their own I’m currently co sleeping with my second child he’s 3 weeks old they only want to snuggle for so long so enjoy it
3 days post partum, thank you for giving this new mom some peace of mind and a few hours of sleep 😭 I couldn’t get her to stay asleep in the crib for anything and needed permission to just give her the pacifier
It’s tricky though for the first few days because they are supposed to feed constantly with no time limit to bring in your milk so unless you’re bottle-feeding, you have to be careful about sticking a pacifier in for the first week or so until breastfeeding supply is established. You’re not supposed to get much sleep the first few days, lol.
@@aubreysnyder9216 Not sleeping contributes to PPA and PPD. So everyone needs to make decisions about this depending on their mental health and the kind of support they’re getting.
I used to put my daughter on my chest while on the couch and out like a light no swaddling while my wife was vacuuming. Shes 5 now and still has to lay next to me for a bit before she knocks out. If your baby is a newborn put them on your thighs while your sitting down and rock them left to right lightly they'll pass right out.
Good tips, and I love to see that they're coming from a dad. My kids have always slept with fans and/or noise machines, and they both started sleeping through the night at around 4 weeks of age. I was a nanny for three kids and did the same with them. They would nap for two to three hours every afternoon with those noise machines and fans going.
My daughter was the same way with her father. He does the chest to chest, cuddles with her & sleeps at night with her. She's 2 1/2 now. Only thing is she loves her daddy so much to the point I got booted from the bed.. She claimed her daddy😞
Imitating the womb is probably the best way to put him to sleep. And keeping a steady routine helps a lot. Babies love routine, even though they're the ones who break it :D
White and pink noise facilitating long, deep and healthy sleep are of particular importance for children. There is no absolute silence in the mother's womb. Various sounds reach the fetus - voices, music, and even the sound of flowing blood. Through the amniotic fluid and the specific environment in the mother's body, all sounds that reach the fetus appear as white noise. After giving birth, such a sound makes the baby feel safe and confident. This noise reminds the baby of the conditions in the mother's belly. In the case of newborns and infants, white noise will work not only during sleep. It is also worth using it to soothe and calm a crying baby.
I have twin boys (7 weeks). I recommend a white noise app, as It will do the shhh'ing for you. Also recommend a book called Babywise. Has kept me sane...
Goodluck!! my twin boys are 8 months now and still wake me up at night but they r a blessing! But its very hard & very different than just one baby! 👏🏼
All these videos are absolute waffle! Every single baby in the world is unique in the way you comfort them. Just love your baby create a calm environment and don’t react to every single noise they make. You’ll find your own way as you get to know your child.
Great video! My firstborn sucked his thumb for about 4 years. I successfully managed to get my second baby to suck a pacifier. My firstborn is now 14 years and has perfect teeth, my second child is 12 and we're bracing ourselves for serious orthodontic work!🙈
Swaddling yes. I can't tell you how many new mom's didn't see it as anything special. When I was babysitting they all slept for me bc I tucked them in tight and gave them their pacie and quietly whisper/sang to them. Boom sleeping baby. 👼
Yeah. That hold will work for a period of two days, and then you’ll just accept that they wake up at the drop of a feather, and you’ll learn to cope with less sleep lol (it’s just a joke) but also it’s exactly how it turned out for my wife and I with our son. We did the taking cara babies courses and everything; some babies just don’t respond the same, and that’s ok. Do whatever works best for you, and let the rest go. Remind yourself that it is only a matter of time for each challenge. Take a deep breath, enjoy the good times, forget the bad, and before you know it, they will be adults.
Currently going into my 2nd trimester, why is all this so cute to me. I know how tiring its gonna be with a new baby (first time mom) but still cant help but feel heartwarmed by the thought of rocking my sweet joy to sleep with these tips
My baby is 9 weeks old now and I honestly was so in love with him while pregnant. The feeling was more overwhelming and deep when I met him and then more and more as u bond and build a connection with your baby. I’m so blessed. Yes they’re hard but all they want is just love 💕 the first two weeks gna he really hard but honestly after a month - 2 months it gets better.
My second baby disliked swaddling since day 1. I had to modify everything for her. She would sleep swaddled like a burrito 🌯 but with arms free and up. She rejected pacifiers ( I was happy about that one) and I had to incline her bassinet otherwise she’ll had some sort of reflux on a flat surface. After breastfeeding burping for several minutes was needed before even trying to put her to sleep. It’s all about cues, time, patience and dedication in my experience. But… I obviously watched this video because it’s been much harder for me this time 😊 She just want to be cuddled ❤️❤️❤️ and this phase will go so fast 😏
Yes. This took skills and right way to do to so it doesnt lead to shaking syndrome or else. Been a neonatal nurse for ten years now really teaches me a lot.
I remember when I used to watch this 9 months ago, when my baby was 1 month old......time flies so fast. Now I’ve started a channel with activities for babies 👶
Omg I feel so bad for you lol.....my 4wk old hates being swaddled she screams her head off until her arms are free but colicky I don't wish on anyone!! Lol. Good luck❤💖
Yeah the first two months my baby was colicky and had acid reflux bad...i thought i was going to jump off a bridge and his father wasn’t helping me at all..i was too exhausted but he’s 4 months now and only cries when he has a slight tummy ache or when he wants to be rocked to sleep 🙄🙄 and did i mention he’s 16 lbs and WANTS TO BE ROCKED TO SLEEP 😭😭😭😭
All babies are different, just like adults i guess, while i appreciate people trying to give advice i found it tiring following peoples advice, caused me more issues than solutions. Both my kids couldnt stand swaddling or shushing or being held sideways and got disturbed by sleep machines and would usually wake because of wind and they went through different stages and growth periods and changes so it was always different and i wouldnt agitate the baby like a mini washing machine like at the start of the video. Usually when they were upset it was because they didnt want to be away from mum or were hungry or tired. Often just held my baby slightly abive my shoulder to rest their head and walked them around near the sound of the extractor fan in the kitchen until the wind came out of them lol
This is a great video! It's always helpful to have some tips and techniques for getting a baby to sleep, as it can be one of the most challenging aspects of parenting. It's important to remember that every baby is different, and what works for one may not work for another. It's also crucial to be patient and consistent, as it can take time for a baby to develop good sleep habits. Thank you for sharing these useful tips!
Most babies that i have ever put to sleep was rocking, speaking softly to them or singing. Especially singing to them. Babies seem to love my singing. I think a lot of times moms are either stressed or tired or overwhelmed and the baby senses that. But here comes a friend, or stranger and I can put the baby to sleep in a few minutes. I just hope that when my time comes as a mom i will be able to do the same thing lol
Watching this in the hopes I'd find something to help keep my newborn asleep at the moment. She hates swaddling and then she likes it sometimes. The minute I lay her down in her bassinet, 10 minutes later she starts crying. Every night this has been a routine now. I'm not sure when I can stop rocking her enough that she'll fall into a deep sleep I just set her down on my soft bedding and she loves it (and stays asleep of course) but I can't have her in my bed so now I'm stuck.
It gets easier just before they reach 2months age. My baby was fussy, had colic and gasses. For the first month if she didnt sleep- she cried. You know how ppl say, play with baby, like hey mf play when??.. she cries all the time. Not jutlst crying but screaming like its being burned alive, loses voice, changes colora from red to blue to purple... So yea, nothing really helped except short period of bath time. She loved that. Then just before she reached 2 months, she slept better, ate better, didnt scream as much, and she smiled. She still had occassional stomach pain, gasses but it was nowhere as before. Finally we could play with her during her wake windows. So happy with her atm.
hahah you made me laugh, that's exactly what's happenning to me. cries every day, can't even put her down to play, she starts crying like crazy. 2 months old. did your experience get better?
It's 2:30 am, I have a 3 day old baby. I'm lucky of I've got 6 hours of sleep altogether the past 4 nights. I'm literally EXHAUSTED!!! To the point that I'm scared of falling asleep while holding baby and dropping him or having him suffocate from sleeping on me. I literally cannot put him down. He just will not sleep unless he's being held. I hope to God this video helps cause I can't make it much longer.

And instead of doing summersaults around their fragile feelings, every one of us should have someone who tells him to get it together 'cause everything will be all right, and to put the grown-up-pants on once in a while.
I so agree
Putting a baby to sleep is not nearly as hard as keeping them asleep. OMG.
True.thts the main point
Amen!
Dealing with this now with my 10 week old 😩😭
OMG your so right. I got a 5 week old. I feel like she hate sleep sometimes.
Try the GlowDreaming thing
I give birth in 4 months! So excited watching this!
I think am doing better in getting our first born to sleep than my wife😅
Is “the baby whisperer” some kind of occupation? What subject do I need to study for it? I think that’s the only subject I would pass. 😂
Taehi Mursh you need to have a bachelors degree in whispering and ASMR
T McK thanks for informing me, my dude.
Taehi Mursh I would prob ace it too at least my mom would be proud 😂
aesthetic same man. 😂
ARMYYYY
Have raised 10 newborns, and THIS is SO important and true. Some don't need all five S's but other need them all in the extreme to settle. Babies love swaddling. Never met a baby swaddled correctly with the five S's who didn't benefit from it. They will sleep SO much longer if you swaddle them.
10 ??? That's nuts!😂
My baby hates being wrapped in a blanket. As soon as I wrap her feet she starts screaming...
I thankfully didn't struggle with my child when he was newborn. He barely cried and just made noises to let people know he's awake. If he did cry, a shush was enough. He slept so well and so did I.
My boy is 15 days now. And im jealous of you
How was your pregnancy? Were you really relaxed and stress free? Just wondering. My baby is a bit fussy
im guessing your baby is formula fed. mine is breastfeeding so literally have no other choice but wake up every 2 hours to feed my baby
As a nine month along pregnant lady, I totally get why they are “born early”
Same here. Comparing my sons birth weight and size vs his 3 month old weight and size I can confidently say I would have been ripped open from top to bottom 😂
Yessss im suffering
I’ve been doing it right all along 😊 My baby boy sleeps longer when he is being swaddled with a pacifier sometimes without. After I freshen him up by wiping with a cloth soaked in warm water, I feed him and 15 minutes after feeding and burping, I would just put him on the bed and he will just sleep on his own.
Swinging? Don't do it guys. If the baby gets used to it you are screwed. It won't stop crying before you start swinging 😂
Yessss i had a tough time for a year :'(
You should only do these tricks for babies who are 3 months old or younger :) you do it less and less as they get older until you can hopefully lay them down and they’ll just sleep. (As if!)
lol it was a workout to put them to sleep.
True
So everyone needs to make decisions about this depending on their mental health and the kind of support they’re getting.
the best relax for a baby is the embrace of his mother , bc they hear the same heart pulse when he was inside
Does this guy have a TH-cam channel? I am going to be a new mama in September and this is clearly my go-to guy
Skin to skin ?
@@xdrake8588 yes chest to chest when they're infants. Obviously as they get older you dont want to do that.
Btw wives find that sexy .. do it often and get some honey after 😏
Imitating the womb is probably the best way to put him to sleep.
Omg. All these 5 actually work for my son. Especially the Shushing and swinging
This advice will save you nights of sleep. Also staying on top of a feeding schedule helps with avoiding the fussiness and crying.

Love this thread
Fun fact: Shushing mimics the echo of the mother's heartbeat in the belly
Shit down
Actually wrong, it mimics Mom's blood flow not heartbeat.
It mimics the flow from the placenta.
Not the heartbeat, it mimics the sound of the amniotic fluid
What if you have twin boys who like to cry alot at the same time and shit everywhere at the same time lmao helpppppp
Get a baby swinger that rocks them and also makes calming sounds I guarantee they'll both go to sleep easier🙂👍🏼
I'm 5 months pregnant with twin boys!! Ahhhh!!
I laughed too hard at this and I’m sorry and I hope it’s gotten easier for you hun!
The baby looks like a doll 😍🥰
What a beautiful baby that one is!!
2:52 ok, mommy had a great sleep. I think she's ready to go the party. Lols
I tried some of the steps with my baby, and it worked! Fell asleep in just 3 mins.
*ASMR for babies*
Yessssss ❤baby loves rhythmic way.... slowly swings 🎉😊 it's so magically Granny smust be walky talky ❤😊
All these videos are absolute waffle! Every single baby in the world is unique in the way you comfort them. Just love your baby create a calm environment and don’t react to every single noise they make. You’ll find your own way as you get to know your child.
His book became my bible when I had my daughter, helped me so much!
Omg now I understand why it's so comforting to sleep in the car on a road trip!!
Lauryn Marie comfortable until you have to poop
Great video! My firstborn sucked his thumb for about 4 years. I successfully managed to get my second baby to suck a pacifier. My firstborn is now 14 years and has perfect teeth, my second child is 12 and we're bracing ourselves for serious orthodontic work!🙈
My baby hates the swaddle, ignores my "shhhh" and wants only one thing, that is to lay on my chest forever 😂
Perfect intro ... he said everything up front ...and then explains
Baby had me up all night! No sleep 😴 for 2 day’s, sometimes it’s not easy but boy are they sooo darn cute and worth it!
Newborns wake up very easily. That's why soothing sounds can help.
Swaddling yes. I can't tell you how many new mom's didn't see it as anything special. When I was babysitting they all slept for me bc I tucked them in tight and gave them their pacie and quietly whisper/sang to them. Boom sleeping baby. 👼
Omg these little animations are just so freaking cute! They make me want to wake up my baby boy just to put him back to sleep 😂 🥰
Uh what
Living wild huh?
Nope
You call them the 5 S’s? Lol. I love what you said in the beginning. They really are, in essence, born 3 months early. Helps with perspective.
This method works like a magic for my baby. It probably saves thousands or millions of hours for working parents worldwide!!!
We’ll said! Wow! 👏🏼☺️ it’s only temporary.
Wife is 19 weeks. It's a girl. I'm exited because now my sister's twins will have a cousin to play with.
You're a good man.
This explains why both of my babies slept better during the day compared to at night. Some of the points were very logical 👍.
“Hey lil mama lemme whisper in ya ear”
That’s all that came to mind lmfao
HAHAHHAHAHAA

3am I’m watching this and I read this comment... lost my shit 😂😂😂😂
Try to hold and swing 4.5kg newborn on one hand for more then couple of minutes ;)
That's what cars are for, driving around your crying baby
OH MY GOSH YES!!! akin lyk da shit is easy!!!!
Driving helps. I could never use one arm because my two were big and I have short arms.
Its like gym, the pain makes you stronger and easy to hold easily
@@midorishiwa I may have to buy a motorhome because our 2 week old will not go to sleep until 4 to 5 hours after the last wake up.
It definitely worked for us!! Thank you so much🥰💓
Dude you remind me of my favorite pedia, he passed away due to Covid and I've never encountered another good one ever since. Rip.
Yes. This took skills and right way to do to so it doesnt lead to shaking syndrome or else. Been a neonatal nurse for ten years now really teaches me a lot.
Thanks for that 👍
Me: **starts swinging the baby at one foot and screams ito its ears**
Baby: sleeps quietly
Wow thank you ! How nice of you :)
Finally found my type of People
How about I scream into your ears and see how you like it?

Really, that's nice
How's the baby doing?
Come deal with my screaming colicky baby who hates being swaddled bruh. 🤣🤣🤣
Omg I feel so bad for you lol.....my 4wk old hates being swaddled she screams her head off until her arms are free but colicky I don't wish on anyone!! Lol. Good luck❤💖
Stomach position + opposite hand passing through their legs and going from one side to the other on their stomach. Works on all colicky babies
God why does colic even exist
wow I was blessed with such a good baby THANK GOD. I would never wish a colicky baby on anybody.. I can only imagine
Hi. Father of a 6 days old girl here. Thank you. Enough said.
Man this looks great. I'm due with my first in the fall.🥰🤰🏿cant wait to fry this and hopefully share on my page
I'm an adult but i could use these tips so i could fall asleep. I'll start with the pacifier! 😀
Swaddling is a traditional way of ancient Persia (Iran). Glad to see that Westerners are learning from us. 😍🙌
the tears looked like confetti
Watching this in the hopes I'd find something to help keep my newborn asleep at the moment. She hates swaddling and then she likes it sometimes. The minute I lay her down in her bassinet, 10 minutes later she starts crying. Every night this has been a routine now. I'm not sure when I can stop rocking her enough that she'll fall into a deep sleep I just set her down on my soft bedding and she loves it (and stays asleep of course) but I can't have her in my bed so now I'm stuck.
What did you end up doing?
My little man screams when he's in a swaddle with his arms restricted! Love to dream swaddles have saved my sanity!
That baby is hypnotized
*My brain: ooh stop scrolling this is a cute video*
Me: but I don’t have a bab-
*My brain: shh just click it*
When I swaddle my baby boy, he tries to get rid off it. 🤣
When you are single and still listening carefully and watching the whole video till the end
I hope to God this video helps cause I can't make it much longer.
hey, i've been there. how much time did it take you to pass that phase?
I LOVE THIS VIDEO! I’m due in March and can’t wait!
I would’ve liked to see you try these with my colicky baby. Nothing worked 😩
Lol!!! My baby doesn’t sleep on her back and she won’t take a pacifier. Imagine my predicament. 😂
