I thought it was funny but IDK if this GPU is short enough to be considered a chode, it's a pretty decently long GPU all things considered. If it were a 3+ slot card and only the length of the PCB i'd consider it xD

Remember, the new cards does not always crash when you OC the memory. It just looses performance because of error correction. The only way to know what your max memory OC is, is to benchmark every step you make and see when performance drops off again :-). +1000 might be a lot faster than +1500.

I bought this exact card from Microcenter in May of 2022. Paid like 500$ for it, but I'm happy with its performance, and having come from a r9 390 that ran hotter and louder, I'm very pleased with how cool and quiet even under full gaming load the card runs.

  • @vovin8132
    @vovin8132 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Yeah, you definitely have to manually adjust fans if you are overclocking these things. And as I have recently discovered with my Strix 3080, MSI Afterburner has apparently only controlled the middle fan this whole time; have to use GPU II Tweak to adjust left/right fans as well. There are also GPU bios updates for some Asus cards.
And you definitely have to monitor thermal junction temperature (NOT just GPU temp) and ensure that it stays under 110*c, ideally low 90s.

But yet if I run it stock, it pretty much gets to 83 degrees quick and stays there. Even with an undervolt and fans set to hit 100% at 80 degrees, I still can only get it down to about 78-79 degrees in 1440p (72-75 in 1080p). I also have 2 noctua fans right underneath the gpu pulling in cold air. When new gpu’s come out next year, I’m buying one and water cooling it.

I put serious leg work in and considering how I make an hour not sure if I was worth my time, but I like the card. The cooler on gpu is like running a custom loop on a i3-3220. It feels like they made the cooler for a 3080 and then said why reinvent the wheel n slapped it on the 3060 n charged an extra 100 bucks for it.

My cheap 2 fan Palit 3060 does the same OC, this is the general limit. (loud fans however)
you would be surprised how many games (FC5 with hd texture pack for example) used/cached 11GB of the 12GB vram..

I just built my first ever PC around TUF Z790-PLUS WIFI D4, Core i5-13600K and TUF RTX3060. I mostly play open world crafting survivals and have noticed a significant raise in enjoyment, since the upgrade from my prebuilt Core i5-4460 and GTX760 system from 2013. My monitor though, is only 60Hz and most games run smoothly at 60FPS with VSync enabled. I've noticed a huuuge 80-110W drop in GPU power when I enable Vsync in pretty much any game I play. What's up with that?

I got this card, Been running stock for a few months. Currently Having system stability issues, and I've tried so many things to fix it, so planning a fresh windows install and will likely be giving the chode beast a little push when I'm done.

Dawid, why didn't you add a bit of voltage ? You need more for extreme OC and have thermal room for it !!

you can flash the BIOS to the gigabyte 3060 aorus elite one that one has a max of 240W white the TUF maxes out at 187W. Just make sure you dont flash a LHR bios on a LHR card and vice verca

dawid, would it be possible to make another video about the t400 gpu? also a comparison with a 1650 and the t1000? t400 seems to be the new gt 1030, so could you include it on such comparison?

All you need to do is up the memory clock, start with 500, but honestly you can go to 1100 pretty safely on these 30xx cards. That will actually yield you more performance, got +13.2% on average with my 3060Ti on +1100 mem oc., nothing else.

I have an eVGA 3060 with the core at +200 and the Memory to +1000 and it runs great on everything except Apex Legends, which for some reason is pickier and likes to CTD occasionally unless I back the OC almost completely off.

Also Dawid, what program do you run to see those temps ? I'm just now getting back into the hobby after being out of it for 8 years or so. Would like to see what my GPU temps are.

Hey! That is a good version of the card you got there. I use MSI Afterburner for the overclocking and the temperature overlay. There are a bunch of videos on how to set up the overlay for MSI afterburners. 👍

I got the 3080 variant of this card (MSRP too, thanks memory express!) and I wasn't so lucky with mine in terms of OCing. I'll be lucky to stay over 2ghz on mine but it can do 1000 on the memory NP. I do find that even OC'd it can vary from game to game what frequency you end up at. Like in 3d mark it'll hover over 2ghz but in most games that actually push it 100% it never gets over 1900 no matter what I OC it to. It's weird. Temps aren't any different either. It tops out at about 72c in my case with the fan curve I have on it.

i feel like the strix card would be better for this. similar crazy cooler maybe better silicon? I have no clue if that's correct. I actually had that exact card for a few months while I waited for a 3080. It did great and I forgot that gpu fans are actually supposed to ramp up during gaming haha

The best way to usually OC these cards is using the curve feature, especially with the higher end cards as it will allow for higher clocks under full load and lower temps. With this setup the OC will actually drop once the card starts getting hot, with simple games it won't do much but play anything demanding it's going to drop due to temps. th-cam.com/video/FqpfYTi43TE/w-d-xo.html
