Aaand I posted too soon. It started leaking again, and I've not been able to fix permanently. I've tried multiple times, and it usually start leaking after ~10 mins.
Hello there Atiqur. Thanks for posting this video. There was no way I would have figured this out. This is very helpful and I hope others find this useful. Perhaps Aquasana should update their Manual with these instructions!! Best wishes.
Today I replaced the filter 4th times and it was very smooth because I didn’t over tight the cartridge. So, the key is not to over tight the cartridge and if you do see the leak just un tight a little bit and see if that stops.
You make my day. It worked for my 5 years old system. But I can't find the replacement O rings on their website. I don't think those O rings last forever.
I have the shorter version & always have this same problem after installing new filter. It’s always a slow leak on the first black unit only. So Your saying we are screwing the unit too tight? Makes no sense but it’s worth a try. Will let you know if it works.
I tried this but it did not work. I am wondering if when my plumber installed the filters initially if he made it too tight pinching the o-ring. I got Aquasana sending me new cannisters and sump tops and I hope this works. Any other ideas?
This worked for me! I'll be back to this video in six months when I replace my filters and forget why it's leaking again!
Love you dude! I was trying to make it too tight and this video stopped me from throwing the filter cartridge into the street! 😂

AQ 5300 leaks
I replaced the o-rings on the filter heads to stop the leak.
Home Depot
Danco #5 o-rings
3/8" O.D. by 1/4" I.D. by 1/16"
Thanks for this info. I'll replace them at every filter change.
Of course you know they say if your leaking from that area that you need to tighten it not loosen it???????
Yes. Actually in this case you have to loosen the grip. I hope it worked for you.
It did not work for me. I tried your instruction and it did not work.
Sorry to hear that. Just curious, was it your first time replacing the filters?
@@atiqmufti for me, it was.
@@azitz I’m glad. Thanks for sharing your comments.
Try a few more times. I had to redo a few times to work. Mine no leaks for months now.
