2yrs later and I just experienced this continual error. I did not want to mess with the physical sensor so am waiting to hear from Support.
But in the meantime I connected via serial USB to run the M412 command to disable the sensor just so i can finish my current project.
Eagerly waiting for a Real Fix from Snapmaker!

Hi Llama, thank you for your well-done video on how to fixing the filament run-out issue. As you know, there is a filament switch inside the 3D printing module. When the switch is triggered, the module will report that the filament is in, if not, it will report the filament is out.
Due to some assembly issues in the product line, some printing modules' switch may be too loose or too tight.
Case 1: Too loose, the module will report no filament when the filament is in, which makes you cannot start printing.
Case 2: Too tight, the module will not stop printing when the filament is used up.
Disabling the filament run-out feature is not the best solution, but it can help you start print right away.

Hi @edwin, thanks for the heads up on this, I will open the extruder and have a look again

My switch is working perfectly well and is not loose at all, filament goes in and I hear a click as the switch is activated. However I am getting exactly the same error messages and, probably not coincidentally, just after I started using Cura instead of Lucan.

Looks like I got lucky with a good filament runout sensor. No issues with it here so far. :)

We've had a few issues with this printer, I think it is because we are one of the early batches

I had this error pop up on me after a year or so. After watching this other video th-cam.com/video/QSc-BzeYxBQ/w-d-xo.html I opened the extruder module and found that the microswitch had become dried out and the two halves separated. I thought of shooting a little CA glue in there to glue the two halves together, but instead I jammed a thin piece of plastic (I got mine from a left over iPhone SIM card cutout). I cut a small, thin piece to jam against the microswitch top (the black portion) and the motor housing, but still allow the microswitch lever to operate. This plastic forces the broken microswitch housing (black & white) to come together so the lever properly activates the electrical switch. I put the 6 screws back on and now I am 2 hours into a 3 hour print again.

Good video, but you kind of click baited me. I had already done everything you had and was hoping for a solution instead of a work around. If you ever figure out the issue hopefully you’ll post a fix. Better yet I hope SnapMaker figures out the issue and fixes it for everyone. ;)

You didn't fix it. You just disabled the sensor and removed a great feature.

it's only a great feature if it works. I'm having the same problem and adjusting the sensor also did nothing to solve it. I'd rather get rid of a feature that doesn't actually work than keep losing prints 20% of the way through. If you have a solution that allows me to keep the runout sensor I'm all ears.

Thats a workaround and no solution. Somewhat clickbait.
