Going back to the trailer after what happened... When I first saw this trailer it was like seeing the film for the first time again--you could feel the passion and wonder behind it all. Being so enthralled by such joy again it legitimately made me cry, but that dream is gone now, and all I can say is sorry for you and your team. No one should have to be denied their one true passion
As a game dev for almost 20 years and a Jurassic Park mega fan for much longer, this is such a sad situation. Incredible work guys and I would love to play something like this. I can’t imagine how difficult this latest news has been, especially since your demo has me more hyped than most AAA full releases. I am in awe of your passion and dedication so I look forward to whatever you work on next even if the JP ip is removed
So sorry to hear it. The JP Operations reveal trailer made me feel more in 2 minutes than all 2 1/2 hours of JW Dominion. What you guys have done is incredible! At the very least, congratulations on being so talented and achieving such success that it can easily be mistaken for something a team of dozens or hundreds would produce.
Watched the movie last night and what an abomination it was. The plot is so overused and there was no thrill or suspense whatsoever. The movie was purely a nostalgia bait with zero substance. Glad I didn't watch it in the cinema.
I love how they're worried about this hurting the vision of directors when more love is gone into this game than most of the movies combined. This is literally the most love director could get. They're just worried that people will love this game more than anything they've put out or at least almost anything
Of course people will love this more than anything out of the JP franchise in the past decade, because this actually connects with what made it so engaging in the first place, playing into that "Oh my god, these things are genuine monsters, and roaming around" feeling. If it puts Universal to shame, then they can't have that, even if they could give their blessing, and if it turns out well, officially license the game, and make absolute bank off of someone else's actual passion.
You can always try to ask klayton fioriti fore help he's a big name in the Jurassic Park community and unlike other TH-camrs he knows some people who worked in Jurassic world films and with universal. So to me that's honestly the closest you can get to Universal.
So sorry to hear about this. The dedication that all of you put into this game is something that should be respected and admired not penalized. As a lifelong Jurassic fan I could not of been more disappointed in Jurassic World Dominion and to be completely honest wanted nothing to do with the franchise anymore after that film. But this game actually brought my excitement back with how stunning it looked visually and all the nostalgic feelings it brought back from my childhood. I applaud you guys for continuing development on the demo, and hope that universal does the right thing and lets you release the full game in the end.
Even with this news, you have still made something amazing that fans have been wanting for a long time. All ten thousand of us appreciate all the effort you have put in and you can't wait for you to finish the demo despite this.
Heartbreaking as fan of the series and a fellow indie developer. I truly hope you and everyone working on this project find a new awesome gig. You guys deserved a lot better.
This absolutely sickens me. I’ve seen this happen to other projects before. The way universal treats jurassic fans is fucked up. they did that whole amber society thing where they had actors playing fans fake debating each other over jp stuff… then they have “fan fridays” on their social media where they release “fan” videos that have very little to do with jp other than dinosaurs without crediting the “fans” who made them. when you have actual fans pouring their heart and soul into a project only to get shut down… shit’s disgusting. i’m so sorry man, you deserve better
I agree with you man I want a game like this universal needs to wake the hell up because I also want a game to be an official first person or shooter game it would be very fun but they just disrespect our wants as consumers I hope they see our voices 😢
You should try and get in touch with someone Universal. Really really push the envelope. That’s how this stuff gets made. You’ve got to fight for this.
With the World Trilogy, they showed time and time again that they don't give a shit about quality. They'll released the shitiest movies/games because they know that fans blinded by nostalgia will give them money. This franchise is dead since 1997
Having the lawyer from the first movie in the thumbnail reminds me of when John Hammond mentioned that the lawyers won't let him dream of doing the park the same way universal did
I know there isn't much we can do, maybe some kind of petition, IDK. I hope somehow the JP fan community can get together to get JP Operations allowed. My heart is broken.
Honestly I would just make your own dinosaur IP at this point. You got such a good base game here. What made Jurassic park feel so good anyways was environment, the 90s tech, and believable dinosaurs. You can copyright claim any of that.
It really does suck the sheer amount of work put into this, a game that the fanbase has wanted since Operation Genesis' days were run out, would be taken down like this. I'm personally very disappointed in Universal for not seeing that this won't hurt them and that if anything it can bring the love back to the franchise.
@@Lil_dee_23 yeah, honestly, universal doesn’t get it. They don’t realize the fan games can also attract more fans, which wouldn’t be bad because it would be even better for universal, but also for the fangame creators, if only universal had the right person to do this, they could have him working for them to make fun fangames of Jurassic Park, instead of sending him an email about closing the whole game down. And what makes it even worse is that this year is the year the Jurassic parks 30th anniversary will happen.
@@twistedtrap1575 Yes, a multi billion dollar company should be taking financial advice from the TH-cam comments section. 😆 So many people here don't understand copyright law. I'd love to see some evidence for your claim that more unlicensed imitation content "will attract more fans to the IP", when historically, that's never been the case for niche fan projects that already have a substantial following in the dedicated fan community. The fact is, this game is using copyright content which is illegal. Furthermore, there's no evidence that a game with less depth than Choo Choo Charles is going to attract new fans to a 30 year old movie and translate to profit for Universal. Finally, you have no idea what games Universal are working on, and allowing someone to rip off their IP for a theorised profit proposed by a teenager in the TH-cam comments section with a highschool education, is just being ridiculous.
Tbh, I'm really sad that this "ended" this way. It was such a great idea, with locations only covered in the book, it would have been so amazing to see this in it's full version. You guys did a great job, I just hope the best for you project.
If Universal indeed noticed the dedication pored into this game, I hope it at least tells them how much fans want a game like this and how far other fans are willing to go to deliver on that wish. They clearly only went after it because of how much attention it's getting.
I really hope Universal changes their mind or even partners with you as a great opportunity! This is clearly a passionate fan’s vision of JP that should help! Don’t give up and thank you for your work toward this!
What concerns me is that with the technology at where it is right now - the accessibility and increasing ease of using systems like Dreams or Unreal 5 and systems like Metahuman and procedural generation making content easier, clashes between fan projects and official IP owners are only going to get more common. 🤔 My advice is that if Universal can’t play ball you develop a game based on Arthur Conan Doyle’s Lost World since that is definitely in the public domain.🥰
This breaks my heart. I was looking forward to this game and it’s a shame that universal can’t see that this is what fans want. I’m sorry you have to change your Beautiful work. I look forward to what you guys do next.
bro this man made a fully detailed beautiful game on a bloody PlayStation to the point where universal had to step in Come universal let us have this one thing
It is a bit weird for them to say this could potentially damage their IP image, even tho their last few movies weren't exactly doing any better to theirs. Nevertheless I hope this new spin on the idea (or a coat of paint) goes well! Such an amazing concept shouldn't be wasted.
When I hear things like that coming from a big corporation, it's often projection in a sense. They feel their official products cannot compete with a fanmade, free passion project and thus they resort to sabotage.
“It could potentially damage our IP image” basically translates to “we’re salty because we didn’t get to produce it ourselves and therefore can not place a governed price tag on it”.
I don't think they care about their already brain damaged IP. They own it but that's about it. They club it round the head every few years and it spits out a billion then gets shuffled back under the stairs
Brutal. I just bought dreams, and this was the only reason why i did. I look forward to what you guys will eventually will put out, but its disappointing that universal did this.
I understand you not wanting us to harass universal about this, but really, how could we not? As you said, we've been waiting for a game like this for a LONG time, and honestly, you're basically giving universal free ideas for a game that they've been needing to make for a LONG time. So props to you man, for making our dream come true
I just don't understand how Universal can't see the insane potential from something as nostalgic and well made as this. Fans are craving something beyond park builders and money-grabbing mobile apps. This would have been it!
“Fans are craving something beyond park builders and money-grabbing mobile apps.” This kinda answers your question by lampshading it’s opposite. Fans aren’t Universal. The latter only cares about placing a price tag on everything produced under the IP name without care for those who it can damage. They know that they can’t govern fan works so instead of healthy compromise they resort to snuffing them out through legal means. Absolutely sickening. And sadly expected.
As much as it sucks that you guys aren't going to be able to complete the game in its entirety, I'm glad to see this news doesn't discourage you from doing other things. From what you've displayed, you guys are uber-talented in game design, and I have no doubt you have great ideas up your sleeves. Don't stop doing what you do best.
Wow, just amazing. The fans finally get what they want and the company screws it up. The worst part about this is that universal will never make anything close to what the fans wanted (what you were making) what a shame. Hopefully they change their mind, until then wish you the best of luck.
Fan works that fall under fair use acting as free advertisement of the official product clearly doesn’t satiate the greed of mainstream corporations like Universal Pictures when all they care about is governing how many things they can place a price tag over. It sickens me and is the reason for why I have mostly turned my back on the industry. Talk about failing to “save face”, Hollywood.
Man… but I can see you and your friend put a lot of talent into this game and it’s sad to see universal have to coming but it’s for business and we all know but I just want to say thanks 🙂
I’m so gutted for you guys, the hard work and love is evident. I remember watching on the video on what it’d look like and it’s awesome, really cool. you guys did a great job just a shame it isn’t appreciated by universal.

I am sad that such and incredible project like Jurassic Operations isn’t considered by Universal as something that should be made and released for fans to enjoy. I deeply hope the best for you and your whole team of such fantastic people that help bring to light these amazing game. I am genuinely hopeful that there is some change in thought by Universal to just see that these is something they should look into. I have played for Jurassic Park Builder, JW the game, and JWE 1 And 2 and JW alive and yes there fun and interesting games but I would agree that it’s time for something new. I agree that other games like Fnaf have great fan games so why can’t Jurassic just have that to. I see that there is a for protection but if they don’t create something like Jurassic Operations who will. I really think that Jurassic community is amazing and creative and that some how if we created the voice for a game like these to be made and just let creativity run wild let’s do it. Krenautican I really loved the videos on your channel there so good and I just hope to see what ever you do with JP operations I am sure its going to be amazing. Really awesome looking T-Rex model 🦖.
krenaution A similar situation happened to a mod for a Total war game. It was a lord of the rings mod to avoid legal trouble they couldn't call it a LOTR project instead they called "the dawnless days."
I think it would be epic if Universal got you guys to help re-create this game for them, especially since you can have some dev help to shape this world into something so much more too, but since it's coming to a stop, I think it's kind of ironic, like the Movie, the Park never got to see the light of day to the pubic... 🤔
Yeah, that would be an ideal dynamic. Just don’t expect high chances of that happening when dealing with an infamously difficult to work with corporation.
Universal was so preoccupied with whether or not they could they didnt stop to think if they should. It's heart breaking that this happened to you guys. I hate seeing fan projects like this get shut down. With your permission, when the demo comes out I definitely would like to play and possibly review and talk about it to help you guys, especially if there's a chance it could help get this game to finish And honestly you guys could make it your own ip and it would still be great but I look forward to whatever projects you guys tackle in the future
As it stands Universal shuts down any game related to Jurassic Park if they arent gonna make any money from it. The current state of Jurassic Park games is copy/pasted mobile games and park builders. Shame on Universal. You guys did an amazing job on the game.
They wanted rexy to be the super hero like marvel movies, ever since it went to jurassic world the whole franchise went into a super hero style movie except with ugly dinosaurs. They should really bring back the classic horror style back into JP
I'm really sad about this news. I was really looking forward to playing it someday. you and your two friends deserve a job at UNIVERSAL instead of a "warning". I keep my fingers crossed for you and send you strength and love from Bavaria (where the first Compsognathus was found)! And please don't let it get you down, you're just awesome!!!!!
Thank you guys so much for what you have done and are doing. It makes me beyond happy to see fan games like this one that have so much of the love, care, and attention to detail poured into it that could only come from true fans. It breaks my heart to the deepest levels to hear such news I, too, prayed wouldn't come. I've waited for so many years like hundreds of thousands of other JP fans, always checking and combing the internet, hoping to see something from a developer about a new JP game like or similar to the one you guys have beautifully crafted. Thanks again, guys, for all your hard work and a truly breathtaking and awe-inspiring JP game we always wanted. Good luck with your ventures and games to come, keep on doing what you love. F!%#^@ you Universal!!!!!! ❤
If your able to keep a draft of the original game with all the Jurassic park stuff just as a nice touch please do because this game was a huge stepping stone towards Jurassic park and I was genuinely excited as a 1st person Jp game would be so beautiful please try to keep this original draft as long as it’s still here the hope remains
If this is the case, I'm hoping your work inspires Universal to push for a new approach in any new Jurassic games that _isn't_ another park builder. It has a whole lot of love and polish to it that you don't really get in even Evolution. (Don't get me started on Ludia games...)
I take some comfort in the fact that through the dedication and passion you've clearly shown throughout this games development so far, you next project will by far be the next best thing everyone looks forward to. While Universal will continue to struggle satisfying their audiences due to stupid decisions such as this.
I swear to GOD...I didn't watch the video yet. Please please PLEASE!!! I watched the video. NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! I'm gonna help as much as I can to share this around!
You should try to get this video across to Spielberg. He’d definitely be able to persuade Universal to get this going again. Much love to you and your friend for making it this far tho ❤.
Damn, was really looking forward to this. I hate how big corps. like this can't see past their own noses, even though, as you mentioned, it would only benefit them
Excited to play the demo when it comes out! Even without the IP it will still be incredible! If only there was some way for the people playing the demo to experience previous versions…
I'm so sorry this has happened to you guys. The hard work you have put in and desire has just been squashed. I wish you all well and hope you, perhaps get the green light to move forward.
This just seems like an obvious opportunity for Universal to engage with the community, reinvigorate the brand, and MAKE LOADS OF MONEY. Even if they were to offer you guys a job or involvement in a dev opportunity. Its examples like that that shown how big corps are so out of touch with fan communities
I only bought and downloaded Dreams to play this game. Of course universal would step in…. I was so looking forward to the full game. I would check constantly for updates. This would have been the fan game that all JP fans wanted. Who wants tons of theme park builders and cheesy side scrollers or fighting games? I always wanted a game about the first film. I’m so sorry my friend about the loss of your vision and will be looking forward to your next great undertaking.
Can they even legally do it? This might fall under fair use. Now you just need to fill the game full of references trashing universal. Like PoP TV in Megas XLR being a dig at MTV.
Universal has the right to send a cease and desist to deter people from using their intellectual property. But they can't do a thing about an original IP that's inspired by (or parodies) their work. There's no reason this game can't exist with minimal changes.
this is rlly unfortunate and I hope you still manage to release it bc I really want to play this and it's clear that THIS is what the fans want. Sure, park builders are fun and I loved Operation Genesis when that came out, but this kind of game is what everyone wants from the Jurassic Park franchise. That said, constantly publicising it during development was not a good idea imo. It even got to the extent that I was seeing this on 2023 upcoming game compilations.
@@StopMotion_Saturday Universal: “Ooooh, lotsa moooooneeee! We’ll get back to you…………in a decade.” (deliriously sits on the IP while mumbling something about park builders)
This is amazing! Its the kind of dino game ive dreamed about as a kid. I would watch my oder brother play JP on sega for hours. Thank you for keeping up with your project! Youre doing a service to all the fans!
I completely understand corporations wanting to protect their IPs. The thought of having something out there, with your IPs logo on it, that you have absolutely no control over is a pretty scary thing. What if someone were to include questionable/distasteful/controversial material in the game, and now suddenly your IP is associated with that, when in reality you had nothing to do with it? So I understand where they are coming from. However, it really is a bummer because these games often fill a void that hasn't been filled by the franchise owners. Years ago some fans made a fully interactive walkthrough of the Enterprise-D from Star Trek: The Next Generation. It was something fans had always wanted, but never been given from Paramount. The ability to just walk around and admire such an iconic ship in Sci-Fi history. But it suffered the same fate as Jurassic Park Operations. I hope that corporations might be more open, in the future, to fan games as long as they aren't selling the game for a profit and they include watermarks to clearly state that they are not an officially licensed product. Maybe someday they'll come to see these games as free marketing and helping to keep interest alive in their aging franchises. Because let's be real, when your most recent films are Fallen Kingdom and Dominion, you should probably welcome any help you can get when it comes to getting people excited about Jurassic Park.
Im so sorry about the terrible news, you all have done an excellent job with this fangame. Remember that eventhough is cancelled you've got tons of support from the fanbase and im sure that everyone would love to see a non-copyrighted version of the game
Universal should apologize to us fans, after what they have done to the franchise on an ongoing basis and not just because of the ending, and give you a truck load with money to move forward with a game.
Regardless of what Universal says, this looks incredible, and is hands down more 'on brand' and interesting than a park simulator/RTS, or the slew of attempts in the past to do any sort of immersive game (i.e. trespasser). Congrats, even if this doesn't get released as is, it looks to be the best "Jurassic" game yet. I always agreed that Jurassic Park was more survival horror/sci fi than an action genre at heart anyways. Hope it finds its way to release! (although, it's likely they want to attach voice actors of their choice to the project, who are protected by the IP)
I'm convinced Universal is worse for Jurassic park than the fricking fans are. Every time studios get gold in their hands they always drop it and produce copper coins instead. I don't even like Jurassic park that much but i keep seeing brilliant people get shot down like bucks in the forest because they're competent and faithful. Heck, you straight up said it could be made official but they turn it down?! I am now convinced they're bad bussinessmen and are allergic to quality competense.
I really hope they change it and let you’s continue this great fan game. You’s are doing amazing work and there is no way that this would harm their product.
This is highly unfortunate. With the rollout of the 30th anniversary, you would think they would appreciate this labor of love. I would like to thank you and your team for all the work you did in this project. I hope we get to see a movie/playthrough of this project but till then, thanks.

I feel as heartbroken as Hammond once he realized his dream was lost. 😔
I love how they're worried about this hurting the vision of directors when more love is gone into this game than most of the movies combined. This is literally the most love director could get. They're just worried that people will love this game more than anything they've put out or at least almost anything
You summed it up. Universal is seriously out of touch with it’s source of revenue.

It’s Hollywood, what do you expect? They only want our money no matter how underhandedly.
I agree with you man I want a game like this universal needs to wake the hell up because I also want a game to be an official first person or shooter game it would be very fun but they just disrespect our wants as consumers I hope they see our voices 😢
Maybe what Universal needs is to have its cesspool cleaned out
You should try and get in touch with someone Universal. Really really push the envelope. That’s how this stuff gets made. You’ve got to fight for this.
I was looking forward to this! Come on Universal, give us a 30th anniversary miracle or something.
Fr so retarded
Universal has no respect for the fans of Jurassic Park/World... 😒
It will be another Park Builder clone no doubt....😒
They’ll only give us what *makes them money.* It being anything of quality is none of their concern.
I prefer prehistoric planet over Jurassic park now
Honestly I would just make your own dinosaur IP at this point. You got such a good base game here. What made Jurassic park feel so good anyways was environment, the 90s tech, and believable dinosaurs. You can copyright claim any of that.
Don't give up! This game looks incredible
First time here.
My god! It looks absolutely phenomenal! Like a dream come true.
You have my deepest condolences.
It really does suck the sheer amount of work put into this, a game that the fanbase has wanted since Operation Genesis' days were run out, would be taken down like this. I'm personally very disappointed in Universal for not seeing that this won't hurt them and that if anything it can bring the love back to the franchise.
And possibly more fans too
@@Lil_dee_23 yeah, honestly, universal doesn’t get it.
@@twistedtrap1575 It’s almost like they deliberately want everyone to lose faith in them. What was Universal thinking?
@@twistedtrap1575
Yes, a multi billion dollar company should be taking financial advice from the TH-cam comments section. 😆
So many people here don't understand copyright law.
My advice is that if Universal can’t play ball you develop a game based on Arthur Conan Doyle’s Lost World since that is definitely in the public domain.🥰
Really now? Didn't know that.
“You made the game look too good and that made us feel bad” is certainly a new one
This breaks my heart. I was looking forward to this game and it’s a shame that universal can’t see that this is what fans want. I’m sorry you have to change your Beautiful work. I look forward to what you guys do next.
bro this man made a fully detailed beautiful game on a bloody PlayStation to the point where universal had to step in
Come universal let us have this one thing
It is a bit weird for them to say this could potentially damage their IP image, even tho their last few movies weren't exactly doing any better to theirs. Nevertheless I hope this new spin on the idea (or a coat of paint) goes well! Such an amazing concept shouldn't be wasted.
Damage their IP!?
That's the most dumb excuse I've heard coming from those greedy idiots...
It’s because you guys bring joy, passion, love and appreciation for the subject - Never give up being passionate for what you love 👍👍👍👍👍
Brutal. I just bought dreams, and this was the only reason why i did. I look forward to what you guys will eventually will put out, but its disappointing that universal did this.
you and me both
I understand you not wanting us to harass universal about this, but really, how could we not? As you said, we've been waiting for a game like this for a LONG time, and honestly, you're basically giving universal free ideas for a game that they've been needing to make for a LONG time. So props to you man, for making our dream come true
fr
Games looks great, this game will help with the JP franchise
As much as it sucks that you guys aren't going to be able to complete the game in its entirety, I'm glad to see this news doesn't discourage you from doing other things. From what you've displayed, you guys are uber-talented in game design, and I have no doubt you have great ideas up your sleeves. Don't stop doing what you do best.
Really sorry to hear this , just know we are all so proud of the work you all have done. Do not let this sour you or turn you away from the industry.
I saw this coming the moment you made a video detailing the game being made in Dreams. No suprise that they made the move to shut the game down.
I knew it. I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN! I hate being right. I'm so sorry for you guys.

My best wishes for you and your team in future projects.
It’s such a shame that it had to end this way, and it’s terrible that people’s passion projects are constantly shot down.
Universal was so preoccupied with whether or not they could they didnt stop to think if they should.
It's heart breaking that this happened to you guys. I hate seeing fan projects like this get shut down. With your permission, when the demo comes out I definitely would like to play and possibly review and talk about it to help you guys, especially if there's a chance it could help get this game to finish
And honestly you guys could make it your own ip and it would still be great but I look forward to whatever projects you guys tackle in the future
I am so very sorry to hear this
It's pretty easy fix change name to triassic public garden and the logo to a triceratops.
Universal is stupid for making this decission atleast your game is still not cancelled which is GREAT
I'm so sorry to hear this, I was so excited about this game, and you guys have been doing such a good job!
As it stands Universal shuts down any game related to Jurassic Park if they arent gonna make any money from it. The current state of Jurassic Park games is copy/pasted mobile games and park builders. Shame on Universal. You guys did an amazing job on the game.
Yes, there’s just no healthy compromise. Fair use clearly doesn’t satiate their greed. Explains a lot about the state of the IP.
They wanted rexy to be the super hero like marvel movies, ever since it went to jurassic world the whole franchise went into a super hero style movie except with ugly dinosaurs. They should really bring back the classic horror style back into JP
To #UniversalStudios please work with these guys and make it happen.

Totally. Out. Of. Touch. Shame on you, Universal.
Sharing this video. I was so excited when I heard about this. It's the first time I've been excited for a Jurassic Park game in so long.

this is rlly unfortunate and I hope you still manage to release it bc I really want to play this and it's clear that THIS is what the fans want.
“Hurting the image of the IP” like the last few movies didn’t do that.

🤣 Perfection
Remind me to thank Universal for a lovely weekend
When fair use is down Universal can go wherever it wants.
It’s a power hierarchy. They have absolutely no reason to care. And the fandom has all of the reasons to wake up about that.
I agree, instead, I feel like the popularity this fangame was getting would’ve actually helped Universal
A first person Jurassic park survival game is needed. Do they not see that?
Universal: fuck you give us your money
It’s not that they don’t see it, they just don’t care. 💸
This is highly unfortunate. With the rollout of the 30th anniversary, you would think they would appreciate this labor of love. I would like to thank you and your team for all the work you did in this project. I hope we get to see a movie/playthrough of this project but till then, thanks.
