I like the idea of being able to use Android Apps, but I don't like the fact that Amazon now has another way to collect data about you and will now have a window into your PC.
Luckily it'll be possible to sideload!

@@tbaileya my Amazon account is shared with 3 other people of various age groups with very different spending habits, interests and even locations. So the info gathered from purchases is pretty tainted. I'd like to keep it that way, separated from my PC operating system.

They need to rename/rebrand Teams if they want it to be a core, all-purpose messaging app
Teams is great if you need a simple version of SharePoint with team chat functionality. But the video calling is horrible and there’s no way consumers are going to use it instead of Messages, WhatsApp, etc.

@@az-fy3mp I think I'd rather they leave BlueStacks alone. If Microsoft buys something, it's pretty much guaranteed they're gonna kill it, replacing it with their version, which they never update, and which becomes outdated and mediocre over time.
This happened to Skype, .zip files, internet explorer, and most other things they buy.
Windows App Store is like a Barron wasteland that looks like circa 2004. Microsoft’s last decade has been so awful I’d advocate for firing everyone up too and starting over. These guys are far to out of touch to keep doing hardware.
At this point, old Linux distros have far better app support. Microsoft lived long enough to watch its own head go up its own ass and stay.

Also on the side note: which Android apps do you miss on Windows? For me it's completely the opposite.
I really hope they made the new design consistent all around the system. It would be super out-of-place to see, let's say Disk Cleanup, looking exactly the same.
YES. That is a huge turn off
Oh it definitely will look the same. Every time they change the settings menu they remove some options so you're forced to use the old GUI. It's ridiculous how slow they are with replacing it, but on the other hand they've failed every attempt do far.

They should change two things:
-their Windows Explorer (indexing is so bad, takes forever)
-let the user change the Taskbar-size in smaller steps
I don't have any problem with Windows Explorer
Then download other browsers. It's not hard.
For Indexing... Look up the app Everything. It's pretty great. Also, from the looks in the Windows 11 page on Microsoft's website, they are now locking the taskbar to the bottom of the screen now, no more are able to move the taskbar to the top or sides of the screen.
