  • Windows 11, due out later this year, is full of new features, including a new Start menu that's been moved to the center and a Microsoft Store with Android apps. In an exclusive interview, WSJ’s Joanna Stern spoke with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella about the software, the influence of the pandemic and his strategy of competing with Google and Apple. An operating system that ships with so called “troubleshooters” are supposed to find and fix problems but NEVER finds or fixes anything says tons about the quality of the operating system. Forget about the new features I would just love to see an operating system that just works, where you didn’t have to spend time trying to determine what’s wrong and how to fix it every time you sit down in front of a Windows PC. How about instead of error codes you state what is wrong and offer to fix it. Windows is such a pain to use and this is from a former Microsoft Certified System Engineer.

you are wrong. The new start is trusted computing. Meaning: with the TPM 2.0 chip, they can have your computer stop trusting you, and only "trust" their DRM authentication servers. Couple this with the requirement to be always logged in, and you are deep into a dystopian future. That is the "NEW" he is talking about. Of course, before they can flip the switch and kill piracy, privacy, and computing freedoms forever, they need people to adopt Windows 11. This is why they are not willing to discuss the topic. Only pointing to the flashy colors, android apps, and games loading improved. No media wants to discuss the elephant in the room that the TPM chip requirement is, and its implications for the future when Windows 10 will reach end of life.
