  • This video shows how to replace a bad O2 or Oxygen sensor based on the engine codes below on an M112 or M113 Mercedes car. The engine code for this car was P0141. So, I am replacing Bank1's (passenger side on left steering vehicles) post catalytic converter or downstream sensor (sensor 2). The same procedure applies to sensor 2 of Bank 2 on the driver side. Sensors 1 on either bank can be found in the engine bay obviating the need to lift the car.
I purchased the O2 sensor from rockauto.com for $62 including shipment and tax as of June, 2023 - part# Bosch 13782. The same part works for both banks but only for post cat sensors with shorter cables.
Engine codes for Bank1 Sensor 2:
P2031 Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
P2032 Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit Low (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
P2033 Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit High (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
    P0136 O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
P0137 O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
P0138 O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
P0139 O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
P0140 O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
P0141 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
Engine codes for Bank2 Sensor 2 are:
    P0156 O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
P0157 O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
P0158 O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
P0159 O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
P0160 O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
P0161 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 2)

Hey I have a code showing bank 1 sensor 1, I believe it is upstream but not sure if its left or right, do you by chance know which bosch part I need for 2014 s550 base? Appreciate your help and videos! Hoping to do this myself as well.

@abdallahdaw7045 it is an electric connection issue. Get a wiring diagram, and a volt meter with resistance function and check at all connection points

Wait, so all of the four sensors are close to the 2 front catalytic converters? None on the 2 in the middle of the car?

Correct, measuring what goes into and out of them.

@jermalramsey1567 I can look it up for you in a day or so, since I have never replaced the sensor on that car. However, don't be afraid to remove the computer or anything in the way. Just remove the negative battery cable first.
