DDDT is the best! Favorite channel on youtube!
I'm the bald guy in the black shirt at min 32!! It was such an honor to meet the guys! Keep up the great content!
Nice meeting you! Thanks for watching 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Man of Honor too bad it wasn't a V8 swap, hard-working men though.good, job..all, respect.
I like to see whatever you guys do. I'm a disabled vet that misses doing this kind of stuff. I have little use of my hands anymore. So watching you guys each Saturday night is a gift. Serious!
We love to hear that! We like bringing joy and motivation to our crowd!
Love see falcons getting back on the road. I have a 63.5 falcon sprint with a 260 and 4sp that my grandfather bought new. It’s been restored from frame up. And I would love to see the old girl budget restored. I’ve been told that the later falcons were the predecessors to the mustang. Absolutely love what you guys do! Keep it up!
That's sweet!
I knew someone who had a '63. He was the original owner but the car was a pile of rust. I was amazed it was still on the road and it was a shame to see it in that state. Guy had been unemployed for a long long time but still had his trusty old Falcon.
No frills budget builds just to get them old girls going with a touch of adventure is what I enjoy. Watching some guy fine tune his turbo gets real old. Keep up the good work.
True that!
Man another great Saturday night with daily driven to close it out!!!!!!
"They started putting it in without me" almost made me spit out my drink!!
🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, build it. I’m building a 61 Comet right now so this is right up my alley.
Nice!
Thanks guys for your never quit attitude. You guys are real car guys who inspire me to keep on plowing on my junk. You all could take the easy way out you don’t.
We’re glad to inspire! Keep rolling with the punches!
Thank you for the happy birthday! 🎉. Today's my birthday 1963. first car I remember was a 1963 red falcon a lot like the one you're working on. 😊 (Mom later traded in for a '65 Galaxy 500) I'd like to see you hot rod that straight six & . See what you can do with that little Falcon. Some Clifford Research 6=8 😊.
Whooo. Perfect timing for a vid! Thanks. Nothing like questionable decisions executed successfully for fun and profit.
You bet! Thanks for watching!
Man this is what wrenching is all about. I've done this with my dad several times back in the day. Love the content guys keep it coming
Right on!
Man, I really love this channel, lol. Keep it up guys.
Glad you enjoy it! We'll keep em comin!
You're right sometimes things do suck. Anger, frustration and disappointment are all normal emotions.
Shocked Autozone let you throw a motor in your car in their lot.
They let us in Fulton haha
Paying customers only. We install belts for you too if the engine is out of the vehicle.
I am a paramedic in Australia and I have been to a 15 car pile up because the first car stopped on the highway for a duck and ducklings. 7 people hospitalised and 12 people injured. 😮
Keep up the good work.
Another great video guys! Love watching your stuff! Just a side note here; I've been a mechanic for over 35 years now, and I can honestly say that you guys have way more patience than I do...I haven't seen anything that I'd call a tantrum lol! Now if I was on camera, I'm sure I'd get slammed with comments about language, attitude, and an occasional flying wrench 🤣🤣🤣 so hats off to you guys, keep up the great work!
Thanks for watching, people who don't do what we do have no idea how frustrating it can be haha. Off camera theres a lot of language, depression and things thrown hahahaah
@@DailyDrivenDeathTraps I hear you brother! Keep up the great work, I love it! 👍
When I was young my dad put a v6 from a mustang II in a falcon. All free stuff laying around the yard. 👍👍👍
Can you guys stop being so entertaining so I can get some work done on my project.
Hahaha! Wish we could get more videos out!
I had several of them little ford 6s. The ones I had, the 144 and 200 was blue and the 170 was orange. All were good dependal engines.
Awesome work. Motor swap in parking lot and driving 6 hrs home alot more than I can do.
Great video! I hope to see more on the Falcon such as a v8 swap.
Thanks! Will do!
Good job guys!!!! You made it home.
Yes! Thank you!
Love you guys. In my opinion
Others would give up and y’all push through. Love following y’all along.
You guys inspire me to just drive it!
Love that! Glad to inspire!
I love those first gen Falcons! First car I ever worked on was my Grandfather's 60 Falcon wagon. I was probably 12 or so, and replaced the starter for him...an all day job for a 12 year old, LOL!
Haha good memories!
Haha My brother had a Falcon like that with the 170. I remember one day when it was -21 degrees and his car was the only one on the block that would start! (He had an aftermarket electric heating element in one of the heater hoses with it's own little circulating pump. You could actually see a bit of steam in you opened the radiator cap! 😂😂❤❤
Ty guys, u let us know anyone of us can go have some automotive adventures of our own. Keep it up 😊
Loving the content guys! camera and editing on point as well !
Love the Falcon and am really enjoying the channel. Keep up the good work.
Glad you enjoy it!
Audio was ifey on this one. I like these old falcons. We use to run around in one in High School. Yeah, I'm old.
YES, I had too have my volume damn near turned up ALL THE WAY, then commercials came on & BLARED OUT OF MY SPEAKERS.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOO YOUR WIFE.
Yea, me too. My 69 was the terror of Atlanta GA, ' two wheel Bob ' they called me.😂
Gotta admit, a 302 would be smart, but what about a "big block" swap (300)? I know getting power out of them is slightly easier than getting blood from a stone, but I also know I'm a glutton for punishment, lol.
Love your never give up attitude 🙂
You guys are quickly becoming one of my favorite will it run channel! Love how real you are. I would really love to see you put a 302 into the falcon.
I love watching your road-trips will it run I believe they add suspense
Glad you like em!
Glad you made it !!!
Thanks!!
Great to see the old girl finally get home under her own power, guys. Repower? Me, I'd rather leave the beast with the straight six - it sounds bloody marvelous and certainly has proven itself as a strong unit. Needs a bit more paint to finish off the rebuild and make it run as good as it possibly ever could though 😂 Maybe if it's an especially thick coat (or maybe even using metallic paint), you'd end up with a big cam, headers, twin or triple carb setup and a few other enhancements!
Here in New Zealand, the XL Falcon was a great little beast and very popular. Even today, most that have survived still run their inline six and three on the tree with most of the V8 swapping being done to the Fairlane 500 of the same era (if someone had bought it poverty spec or it had just a little V8 in it). V8-swapping the car will only make you want to give the Falcon a full-on interior makeover, fresh bodywork and shiny paint......and lower it, wide low-profile tyres on slots or Torq Thrusts, floor change conversion, bucket seats - and that's a whole heap of cash thrown at it.
Again, if it were my build and wanting a cool original cruiser for little money, I'd be leaving the six in place, but giving it a few enhancements like headers and a decent carb / intake (and a cam when money allows), changing the Ford-O-Matic 2-speed auto for a C4 3-speed (or to a 3, 4 or 5 speed manual, but a column-change 3-speed would be easier to keep the car looking standard), then tidying up the interior with a good headliner and carpet (after laying down some sound-proofing on the ceiling, front and rear firewall and floorpan), cleaning up the seats and doing the Mexican blanket makeover if there were areas of untidiness in the vinyl and tidying up some door cards for the beast. The exterior would be given a decent waterblast, then a cut and polish over the entire surface to see what happens....making no difference to me whether the topcoat is thinner in places as long as it polishes up well to a satin / gloss shine - whisky dents included. All chrome and trim would also be polished up, with anything missing going back onto the car and the wheels would be painted silver or grey rather than black. Engine bay would be cleaned up and rattle-canned flat or satin black and the same in the trunk. The wheel wells and underside would be cleaned up and given a coating of black bed liner to protect it and provide further sound-deadening. Actually, maybe on reflection, the trunk floor / walls would be better hit with bedliner too.
She's a lovely old car with excellent bones. A V8 swap would be great and a 302 (or 289, which is period correct for the car) is a wonderful sounding engine, but it would mean upgrades to other areas (brakes for starters) and make you wish you could spend more. Keeping her a six but with just a more highway-friendly gearbox and allowed to breathe easier, the car would perform and cruise better and leave you with cash to make it a quiet, comfy and enjoyable ride.
Overflow bottle, 1 -2 liter bottle cap , and hose from over flow it works guys easy over flow road side repair
Love to see a 302 in the old Falcon. The '63 Falcon Sprint was available with a 260 in it. The 302 is from the same engine family. But the front subframe will need to be stiffened quite a bit to handle the extra ponies. After all the early Mustangs were just Falcons with sexy bodies on them.
Glad to see it made it! It'd be a pretty sweet car with a 302. Give 'er a rockabilly matte black and red quickie paint job and run it.
Great car , job well done
Thanks 👍
a 302 would be good , growing a buddy had one of these in a wagon , fun but no power and cooooold in winter real cold that 6 dont make heat
Love the 2 door falcon
Mate falcons are so underrated luckily
Yes more of this project please!
I am drawing on memory here, but in many cases a Falcon engine with a blue valve cover was a 144. The red valve cover was usually a 170. This of course depends on which factory the car came from.
And thanks for the birthday, wishes! Just so happens Friday was my 58th.
I really want to see this car cleaned up and polished with the patina
Heckkkk yeah!
DDDT be making this cold snowy weekend....fire!
Well done man, love an old Falcon. Cheers from Australia.
Small block.... naah, every falcon needs a 427 side-oiler 😂 Anyway great to see you doing stuff like this with your dad, my dad had a 68 falcon I wish I could do stuff like this with mine he would've enjoyed that but he hasn't been the same since ha had a stroke when he was 39 years old. Now I'm 30 he is 51 but he can't handle to much noise or really use his right hand anymore. But life is life. You just do the best with the hand you are dealt. So I'm wrenching on my own with my 64-year-old plymouth 😊 Anyway greetings from Norway 🇳🇴 😊
Holy Cow!! That would be crazy haha! We're glad John can come along and help us! Keep on wrenching for your dad! Sorry he can't be there with you to wrench but I'm sure he's proud!
LOL I can't believe that Manager at AutoZone was like that. I mean this is what there customers do lol Glad it worked out though
Ehhhh, we understand. Everyones sue happy. DDDT isn't tho
That car deserves a budget build
Love to see that thing cleaned up with a v 8
I think you guys met half your subscribers in this video😂. Seriously though you guys have a unique vibe on this channel, love the content.
Falcon build would be great!
My first car was a 1962 Ranchero with 289 HI-PO 4 speed. Like the grill and size of the car.
runs great! i have a 62 pro street with full tube chassis with 390 4 speed .
Sickkkkk
It's awesome but I think you should consider a 351 would be awesome
Oh yeah! If we could get one for a good deal haha
Awsome video!!! You guys rock! I love your M.O.D.
Hey guys, I'm Brazilian following from Dublin. Are you going to completely renovate this beautiful car? I'm looking forward to seeing it fully restored.
I subscribed, I`m looking forward to this build .
Thank You for sharing your video .
That build will come this winter!
If you want to do it cheap and easy, just 302 swap it. They had the 260 v8 in them from factory and it's about the only v8 engine that'll fit with headers being smaller than the 351, ls, or sbc
I get why you went with another six but at a latter time it would be really cool to see that with a small block of some sort. 351 Windsor if it isn't too wide but even a 260 would be cool.
Done everyday in the big city. It’s awhile you wait thing
After watching all your videos (Subbed long ago lol) You guys should call your channel "Prayin, Persay". LOL. ROCK ON BOYS!! I LOVE IT!!
Hahaha, thanks! Always prayin
The 170 six is a weak sister, and the crappy air-cooled 2spd. automatic makes the little Falcon a real slug. Fuel economy on that set,-up will astonish you.
Ford sold these here in Australia. No v8 . The first ones were criticised for bad ball joints. Rough roads in Australia back then. They put fairlane ball joints in to solve the problem. They restyled them 3 times independent from the usa cars. The final version was the xp falcon that came in two and four door versions and a 200 six was offered.
Definitely a 302 I did one, fun car
Uggghhhh we need to do it haha!
25:15...Look kids, Big Ben! Parliament!
🤣
I'm an Aussie. I had a 1962 XL Falcon sedan with a 170 that would cruise all day on 70mph. I didn't consider a V8 swap when found out how quick it would cruise.
We just need to get up to 70 faster hahaha
302 small block swap. Give that car some power it deserves.
Or a Barra swap. Bit more work with all the electronics, diff & gearbox but well worth it.
Nice job cool car Ford good show 👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍😃😍
Thank you 👍
You guys could really use a couple awnings for over your work Arias. It's been a must in the work truck for me for the past few years and I tend to enjoy working on Riggs a bit more than without the shade. Just a little protection can keep a guy working longer if he's not sweating as much as he would be in the sun getting heat exhaustion. By the way this is been a interesting video so far and it's not half way through it yet I just wanted to comment while it was fresh in my mind.
When the Falcon first come to Australia the suspension fell apart giving it a bad name. In the end they were the most reliable taxi ever made! Us Aussies made the best Ford inline six in the end.
I would love to have a falcon that body style and make a nice v8 swap daily hotrod , grandfather had a black one he put a 289 in when I was a kid this was a awesome video guys
Hey guys I always LOVE the videos and cars! Thank you big time! Hard work you crazy nuts! LOL. You're all great and don't worry about people saying "Tantrum" or anything I watched it and saw nothing at all like that. Just people stirring up stuff. I do have one thing to whine about though. The volume is quite low compared to most videos if you could bring it up a couple decibels or something it would be perfect. It's great quality sound just not very loud at times.
Will do! I'll figure out what's going on with the export settings. It shows I'm in the red (high db) in the editor but something must not be right in the export settings because it is quite, especially compared to ad breaks. We'll also try to wear the DJI mics more when randomly talking.
That little ol falcon deserves 302 and heck you might as well 5 speed her love my falcons
Heck yeah
Hello and thank you as always
Another good one guys 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great job definitely do the budget build

V8 swap is a must!
Heck that Ford falcon unless u love it and have a purpose for it
Outstanding job,continúe Say hello Jorge
Hello Jorge!
New here boys!!! Loving the videos👍 what a blast it would be to do what you guys do. Keep up what you do. I’d like to see a 302 with atm carb and a tremic 5spd with a 4 wheel disc conversion done keep the wheels and the patina. And upgrade the interior.
Now those are some good ideas!
Just discovered your channel great content you’ve got a new fan
💪🏼💪🏼 welcome!
Psssssst...."brake down" should be break down. 😂 Unless of course you're brakes went out. I really enjoy your videos. Glad to see you got the old girl back on the road.
We don’t English well 😆
@@DailyDrivenDeathTraps😂😂
I think this needs to be a gasser. With a 302, straight axle, and a 4 speed!
If and you do change to 302 , use 1964/65 motor mounts for the falcon v8. Trans mount is different.
