We call that resourceful where I hail from. It’s a good mindset to have when money and other resources get tight. It’s straight outta the great depression.
Everything in the video reminds me of work I’d do for my parents to help save some money and just our ways as guys to show love to our parents. Cherish the time with your parents. My father just passed away and really puts life in perspective.
Sorry to hear about your father. I had a cancer scare with my pops a couple years ago luckily he made it through but it was pretty glum at first. Also Thank you very much!
My dear friend, you may be broke, but you are far from poor. You have a rich mind, the skills you have are gold. Some day soon you may find kings and princes coming to you for wealth and not the other way around.
I really am in a poor state of mind. I can accomplish things that are very valuable to people but I just cant seem to get myself on the right track. Ive been thinking about this a lot lately. I do a lot of self sabotage.
@ right there with you man. It’s really hard, actions you think are positive will end up being set backs. I gotta say though you’re gonna be good man. You clearly got the right values and you can’t buy that for any amount of money. Been poor my whole life but it’s taught me the value in valueless things.
@ and it’s hard to afford and be in the position to do it over and over again. But this is the realistic content real people want. “Gotta work on a car for mom” it’s kinda humbling seeing dudes make content of just normal car work. Makes the world seem smaller
Toyota corollas are the most dependable cars out there. Cheap spare parts and rock solid engines. You basically gave her a really solid and dependable gift. Good work to you and your brother.
Doesn't matter rich or poor at the end of the day. You still have your parents to cherish and love and care for wealth, money, fame comes and goes. Life moves on continuously respectful. Gracious, loving for what you continue to do 4 mom, dad, the family that I as well as many others do not have.
Amazing video. It showed me how plausible it is to work on your own car (takes a lot of knowledge and experience) and how joy comes from thoughtfulness, not the amount spent. Wonderful craftsmanship !
Brother I grew up very similar! Poor, lived in the woods, doing what we had to do to get by. People don't understand how many skills this helps people like us develop honestly. Growing up like this causes some long term issues, but in terms of being able to survive on very little, we become insanely resourceful. Love the vid dude, instant subscribe from me
I get it Justin...My Son said, "how do you know so much ?". I told him " necessity is always the motivation !, when you grow up with nothing, you learn fix everything"... I just recently helped out my Mum, she lives in another state, my sister lives close to her but never seems to really help her, it sadness my heart.... good on you mate for doing the right thing, there really is no other option in life but to do the right thing... I really enjoy your channel and watch every post and always finish it with a like..... I hope you grow more and more, just like Andrew... you deserve it mate... your content is great, it's real and interesting.....
I have a Justin too!!!! He is 25. My daughter, 23 has a 2009 Toyota Corolla. I just cleaned the MAF sensor and the electronic air intake (careful to do this right!), and did Seafoam treatment in the gas and motor oil, but now it runs REALLY well! I have to do struts on it now... but I've had to rewire almost the whole car due to a mouse chewing all through it, I changed the regular stuff like oil filter, transmission oil filter, air filter, cabin filter, then I had to change the water pump and alternator, only to find out it was just the alternator that needed changed. We also had to put in new windshield wiper tubes, because the mouse also chewed it up. Thankfully the pump was still good! And she got 4 new tires (2 at a time lol). All this took a long time but when you have to make what you've got work... handiness is GOLD! Your video is awesome!!!!! Thanks for sharing! And that was wonderful what you did for your momma! I'm a weird momma who likes to work on cars (don't worry, my daughter helps me!) LOL! I don't know a lot, but I'm learning with every project. I have a 1998 f150 that I'm trying to keep alive too.
Good on you for helping your mom out; every boy's first love is their mom🙂 Nothing wrong with growing up poor, its how you move forward in life that counts: we dont get to choose our beginning, but we can change our path forward🙂. Kudos to your resourcefulness and being able to do those repairs. Its nice you have the available tools like a welder to be able to assist in your repairs. Keep up the good work!
Good job brother!! Most important part is that you did it with love for ur Mom and the appreciation coming back from her, it's priceless!! We need more people like u bro, real talk!!!
That's awesome what you and your brother did for your Mom! Both my parents are disabled and my wife and I are disabled. So I definitely know where you're coming from. Your attitude is like ours, we get resourceful and a lot of things people consider junk we cherish. You've got a great attitude and remember brother, money doesn't make a man, character does! I have a 2012; had it since 2014. It has about 350k miles on it. The only thing I've ever replaced was the alternator (twice), battery once and the headlight bulbs... and the regular stuff like oil and changed breaks (but no hubs or rotters) and the belts once. Not even a sensor's gone wrong in it. Great car. The check engine light has been on for two years because of the catalytic converter and she doesn't have the get up like she used to but she's still tootin along. I figured I got my money out of it a long time ago.
I’m not a soccer mom but I can’t drive in snow with or without snow tires because I live in Florida so I am staying here 😂 My dad and brother are both really resourceful and handy with vehicles and fixing things and we’re self taught primarily.
