May I ask how tall you are? Can a 1.87 meter man fit in without too much folding? :). Have you noticed how far you can go on 1 charging if you go 1 or 2 persons in the car? I'd LOVE to have an Ami; I don't want to pay £ 50.000 for a bigger electric car.
In the 70s it was traditional for motorcyclists to pass their bike test and get straight into a 600cc Reliant 3-wheeler with no lessons - which is what I did after 6 years- I drove on an urban motorway within days - and immediately got pulled over by the police because the tax disk had fallen off the windscreen of my dodgy-looking vehicle ! I'd also had one solitary lesson with BSM and decided that there was no way I could learn that way... Given their handling peculiarities I reckon Reliants should ONLY be driven by motorcyclists .. It took me 7 years before I actually took my test in a 600cc 2CV ... the passenger's seat became derailed and I think I passed my test partly because the examiner was so impressed at someone taking their test with a full motorcycle licence :D The examiner had me pull over for someone who'd actually had lessons in the usual way and were liable to crash into us at some point.! After infrequently driving a couple of 2 litre Peugeot diesels I've been "only" a regular cyclist for the past 14 years and will with luck shortly be faced with driving in France on the wrong side of the road - so I will do the online French theory and this time am seriously considering taking some refresher lessons in the UK - just so I know how to operate a modern car - especially if I initially use a hire car.. Given the craziness of 2016, I will quite probably be renting in France for the first 12 months until I have safely renewed my visa and one of these would be almost perfect if available locally by some means or other... - perfect for visiting sale properties in a small area - though I wouldn't rule out doing that on a bicycle - electrified or not ...

It will handle them with ease!;
So far so good!)
Hilarious! You two are having way too much with that bug. I want one for myself. I'm from Southern California and don't know if I can get it shipped over here. Do you guys know? Hope you continue to enjoy your new toy. 🍻 Cheers. Gina
I think there are plans to launch them in the US but otherwise we’ll ship you one;
1:15 top speed of 28kph? You meant mph.
It's 45kph
Citroen Ami and Renault Twizy it's the kind of microcars we need to rend the summers on the Greek islands instead those 4wheeled noizy and dangerous motorbikes and scooters.
Yes Twizzy very popular here in Summer and Winter (though Twizzy drivers look a bit cold in Winter even with their side panels!)
Omg the roads of villefranche are no longer safe 😂
First saw one in July outside octroi bus stop and had take a photo of this quirky little guy!
Bonne chance with your road trips and don’t forget that the range is for straight flat roads and not true for villefranche or Nice
You mean she won’t make it to Menton?!
@@MeandMonAmi
She… interesting you must have a name other than ami or get one nominated
You could do one of those videos to see exactly how far one charge will take you
Thanks G! It’s not doing too badly on the range cos it seems to use very little coming back down hill’
The start of a beautiful adventure journey - and a huge thank you for allowing all of us to become a part of it!! 😀😀😀😀
A few thousand miles later 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Uwe
Ian. near order time here in UK. Can you advise as to best colour option for interior pack. ? Key question. do you gind the orange dash trays reflect badly from the screen
perhaps blue a better choice. What do you think. Colour pack an extra £400 in uk !!
We love the orange but they do reflect (though only really an issue for us with our cameras) Not sure whether the other colours reflect less.. Tim
It was an extra £300 here I think. It’s expensive but I’m very glad we got the bits for doors etc as they are really useful
@@MeandMonAmi thanks for the advice ... will stick to orange as its the classic colour scheme... may opt for the sunroof screen as it is clearly an issue ... appreciate your help (found "The Pyramid" vid. interesting in its seeming improbability !
I want one! But here is the USA they are NOT available.
I have a small car called an e-runner… comparable top speed.
Interesting I will look it up!
I just watched this a second time and noticed there are numbers on the front "bumper" area. They've been there since this first video. License plate? IMEI?
You mean the actual registration plate?
Is this the most viewed video at 18k views ? 😃 Tres bon messieurs !
Hopefully not too long till I get a test drive in N Ireland . Can’t wait till I get a go in the “ Dodgem” !!
I think it is apart from Chiang Mai gay pride which probably doesn’t help the algorithm much!
Brilliant vid your like a gay chuckle brothers lol
After driving it for awhile what are your thoughts on the ami?
We love it! Coming up for 1k now!
Completely barking😂😂🤞🙏
What could possibly go wrong?!
@@MeandMonAmi
I can just see the trail of cars behind you both on the Prom as you run out of lectric, wish I could be there for that. Actually, I hope you both enjoy it now it's a tad chillier down there
Bloomin freezing here
@@lynnetteatkinson9898 You will be there for that. We’ll film it!;
J'adore. Which one of you is Thelma?
I’m Norris.
Love this
Thanks Abe. Lots more to come this Winter and Spring
Mr Boo is 1.87m!
I want that shirt.
It’s mine!
Do you need a driving licence? or take a test. Can you charge it in the house and is it cheap to insure?
No licence needed. No test. Yes to house and yes to insure
How much is your insurance and is the Ami subjected to m.o.t, a quirky but wonderful car.
It’s around €1000 per annum for us both but that’s because neither of us have a licence. As far as I know no MOT.
What a great little car, are you going to call her Ami ?
I don’t know. Me and Mon Ami..
Does it come with license plate number or you registered yourself?
Same as any car in France
two warn queens in their e-Ami, be careful do not go over 50 kmh and have fun !..
Thanks Herman!
Toot toot! Tufty Club!
I’ve just been watching Tufty videos on TH-cam. Hilarious
It took me 7 years before I actually took my test in a 600cc 2CV ... the passenger's seat became derailed and I think I passed my test partly because the examiner was so impressed at someone taking their test with a full motorcycle licence :D
The examiner had me pull over for someone who'd actually had lessons in the usual way and were liable to crash into us at some point.!
Fab stories and yes for us it’s perfect and I think for many in France
Not 28km speed. It's 45km
You said 28km on the video.
It’s true! Corrected in all the other videos!
I too have placed a refundable deposit. Refundable in case I don't like it on test drive. Like I won't. Really
It just makes you smile…
