Two weeks ago I discussed with my 86 years old mother about her mobility needs. She is still riding her bike.. I showed her the ami, at first she thought it was an ugly car. Then I showed her your vlog about the delivery and your first drives around the parking place… there came a smile😊 and this morning I bought her one… now wait for 4 weeks and then off she goes! Thanks for your honest and very informative videos!

Citroen should give you a *huge* bonus! Not only for the extreme testing but for your channel as such - you have put the Ami in the center of a very interesting and charming series of videos!
Best advertisement the Ami can get! If it wouldn't be too expensive, Citroen should put your full videos on TV in main TV hours!!!
I'm here in the (rather cold right now) north of Germany and don't even have a driver's license (and wouldn't be allowed to use an Ami here without it) but i watch all your videos. I'm not gay either, but i like what you are doing - keep the videos coming!! I enjoy the mixture of touristic moments - please do more food related stuff!!!! - and the 'my life right now' stories.
I really enjoyed your Italy adventures (can you drive your Ami in Italy without a driver's license without problems??)
It may be difficult to find ideas for new videos all the time, perhaps others can add some ideas here as well? - What about a video with someone who is just 14 and really does give your Ami a go for the first 10 hours or so?
    Bye!!! 😁😁

Hi boys! I just love y'all's channel! You two make great company when I'm getting work done around the house! I am ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE with the Citroën AMI! I hope to own one one day! Of course I'm a HUGE fan of Citroën so I'm hoping to own a 2CV one day as well! I think the AMI and the 2CV serve very similar purposes. The plastic polycarbonate shell of your car is very similar to the quarter panels on the first Honda Elements, one of which I owned. My first week of driving it and a client's gardener gouged the living hell out my driver's side quarter panel with his wheel barrow! I WAS LIVID! A heat gun is a really great idea!

Citroen should pay you guys for such a fair and positive appraisal of the AMI.
I want one but the only thing that stops me is the Citroen dealer is 25 miles away along main roads at 60/70mph.
How would I get it back to them for servicing and/or recalls - maybe they would provide a free low loader every time it needs it's yearly service. (somehow, I think not)
HOWEVER. Word is that Fiat may do a badged version of the Ami with Citroen to be badged as the Topolino.
The Fiat dealer is 1.5 miles from my home and it's along roads at 20/30mph (I can avoid the 40mph road with no problem)
Have already told the salesperson I always ask for when I change my Fiat's to put me down for a test drive if they do it next year.
You show how much fun the little Ami is to drive. Well done. As I said, Citroen should pay you guys

@@MeandMonAmi The Fiat Ami would be badged as Topolino according to reports.
To drive the Ami to the nearest Citroen main dealer would entail driving at 28mph along a busy road. It would mean having maybe 4 or 5, 40tonne lorries in a convoy behind the Ami plus a number of cars all wanting to do at least 50 mph. There are a few places to pull over to let them pass but not many.
Not bothered about upsetting a few car drivers 🤣🤣 but Lorry drivers don't need the hassle. 😡

Brilliant and informative, as ever. Elton’s holding up extremely well it seems.
I’d like one of these over here in Killaloe, Ireland (originally from Sussex) but on these rural roads the top speed might be an issue? Not from my own point of view but for other motorists on some of the many hills😊
I do on sunny days potter around in a 499cc, 1970 vintage left hand drive FIAT 500 called Bella (ex Mafia Staff most likely car from Palermo) which isn’t exactly quick, but I can get about 70 kph out of her.

I saw a guy elsewhere in France who took the front and rear off, only six bolts each end, and it looked terribly dirty underneath front and back and you could definitely see how thin the metal frame was. I couldn't see if they had galvanised it before painting but I doubt it. If it isn't a galvanised frame it would make sense for me owners to remove those few bolts and Waxoyl the insides of the frame members and the outside before otherwise trying to protect the parts. The motor and drive belt have nothing to protect them from junk thrown up by the front wheels for example and cheap polycarbonate sheet cut and tie wrapped in place either side of the motor would prevent that without affecting the cooling. Same around the battery connections at the back.

The problem is, if a police car follows you it will be obvious that you have modified the vehicle, which means it is no longer legally a quadricycle, so you will need a driving licence, different insurance, and more road tax, etc. It will need to have air bags, anti lock brakes, crash testing, type approval, and all the other things cars have to have. Have you explained about the French, Voiture Sans Permis in a video? I haven't noticed, but curious about it.
Is it literally correct, or do you need some paperwork to get a permit?
Are the rules different depending on how old you are?
In Norway: You can get a driving permit for 2 wheeled mopeds from application, if you are born before 1985, no training or test required.
However the application can be denied, and the permit can be revoked (e.g. after driving under the influence of alcohol etc.)
Younger drivers have to do mandatory training and a theory test, but no driving test.
For 3-4-wheeled mopeds (e.g. Ami EV), you have to a different mandatory training and theory test, but still no driving test.
(As for "no driving test": you still need a pass from a (certified) driving instructor for each section of training, before you can continue, but not a final test.
