i was looking to get D9S but it have 6500mAh battery with bigger screen & that mean the battery will not last long without charging! while the D8W 10000mAh with small screen & i was disappointed! thats was really weird for me! but still D8 is a beast. Xtool nailed it with their tools awesome features & subscription & prices! i bought D8W & it's in the way. 37

You mentioned it not displaying battery voltage and there was an easy fix. I am needing the voltage and found your video when searching how to find voltage information. Did I miss the easy fix? I did not hear you mention it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I didn’t see the voltage on the display. Is there a fix for that? I think Xtool would have to make an update on their end if the Bluetooth dongle has has a voltage sensor built in,
Does this tool calibrate the blind spot monitor for the 2021 Camry SE?
I have tried but it sounds like the blind spot monitor is part of the Adas systems. I would email Xtool and send your vin. Just so you know for Adas calibration you sometimes need specialized parts. Guys because xtool has changed so much over the year, where do you recalibrate/reset new fuel injectors? I can not find it. I'm sure Injection coding is not the one. And if it is, it fails to communicate with Volkswagen Tiguan 2009

The d7s and d8s are okay for doing but hit or miss. My dodge is able to corrected but on my Toyota is not supported. But it does work for some Toyotas. If this a major concern email the vendor your vin numbers and ask for a list of supported features.
Perhaps the manufacturer of DX8 abandoned support for it and released this version to cover the shortcomings. Many of the features in the previous version make you frustrated because you are unable to complete it despite their presence in it.
Good feedback and yes they should offer a free upgrade to new user interface.

Great review. I Just received my D8W. Wifi direct, not bluetooth. The bluetooth version 'BT' is slower than W. I'm a long time DIYer and have been researching advanced diagnostic tools for YEARS. Look no further than the D8W. It is outstanding in many ways and the cost and even the subscription after the first 3 free years is much lower than anything comparable out there. Other devices in this price point are inferior.
Yes the Xtool brand is offer a great product with lots of extras including the 3 year of updates. Enjoy your d8w. I have not tried any Wi-Fi Direct tools yet.
Is the WiFi module the only difference between the D8s and D8W?
@@LandonChapman The interface/look & feel is updated on the W. Looks much better. If you're going to buy one, get the W.
@@LandonChapmanThere is one other thing I considered. I am fairly certain you can power up the device with a cable to the ODB2 port on the BT. This cannot be done on the W as there is no port at the top of the device. Wasn't an issue for me.

I like the wireless version the best as it’s not Bluetooth and the range is really super and you can test components on the go with scanner in your hand instead of just being confined to driver’s seat.

Do you have to pay every year in order for this OBD reader to work ? If you dont pay does that still work ? Do you need to have internet to used it ? If you don't updates does that still work without updates ? Out from the box can you used it without wifi or internet ? Can this scan for Fuel Pressure ? And can this scan for compression test ? Is this a Complete diagnostic Scan tools ?does it Scan from 1996 cars going up ? How about Toyota Camry 2001 2.2 Liter 4 Cyl or Buick Park Ave 2003 3.8 Liter does it Scan these cars ? Does this scan for battery ignition parameters ? Does it Scan for a bad head gaskets ?
It works on your vehicles your mentioned and you can use it even if the updates expire. There is no real scan for a head gasket but yiu may get a misfire code for a cylinder that can help figure out it’s a head gasket. I answer most of the other questions during the video.

How does the record function work to record everything displayed on screen?
Similar like if you have a recording device hooked to it. Shows everything going on the screen. It is great for creating training videos and or sending it to tech support for troubleshooting.

How much does it cost for yearly subscription?
It comes with three years and I would personally it renew as the tool will keep working but you won’t get any more updates. Not need by most including me as my vehicles are more than 3 years old and if they are that new then they will have warranty
Is that true that xtools scanner can brick cars ecu ?
Two years ago they were really bad quality, but now they have made a great name themselves. I’m sure old xtool scan tools have bricked someone’s ecu but I’m sure other scan tools have too.

I HAVE AN XTOOL EARLIER MODEL BUT WHAT I NOTICED THAT THEIR TECHNICAL SUPPORT TAKES AWHILE BEFORE THEY REPLY SOME TIMES NO REPLY WHAT SO EVERY, I BELIEVE THIS IS A DOWNFALL FOR THIS TYPE OF SCANNERS, I WISH THEY CAN IMPOVE THIS ISSUE! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SORTA POOR

For both the D7 and D8, they have 'BT' bluetooth version AND... a 'W' wifi direct version. I just received my D8W version. Don't bother with BT, spend a little extra and get the W. It is superior in transfer speed.
