Yeah, it’s these rare scenarios why police officers nowadays can’t hang up on any phone calls. Meanwhile little Timmy is stuck on a prank call with the police and waits for them to hang up.
I absolutely LOVE the body language your character shows when terrified -- trembling as she drops the fax, vomiting upon seeing the first dead body. Clock Tower truly was one of the scariest games ever, and one of my favorite surprise Christmas gifts.
This game is so creepy and scary! It is actually scarier than any new horror games I have ever played! The new ones rely on jumpscares that get old very quickly but this game is way better with suspense and "scissor man" is actually pretty creepy. Just a ugly and creepy green guy walking slowly with those nightmarish scissor noises. The music is good too.
I love how Helen's internal thought process is '...from SOMEWHERE inside the building' like she doesn't work in said building and doesn't know where the other fax machine is. Because I refuse to believe there's more than two in a three storey building. lol
Over ten years since I uploaded this little clip, and it's the comments like this that deconstruct the actual logic being used in this scene that make me laugh and wonder why this game scared the hell out of me so bad when I was seven years old.
I always enjoyed the second conversation even more, when you basically demand the officer send over someone to investigate. It's only at the final few seconds of the phone call when you're about to tell him the location that the phone cuts off - though I'm kind of curious if that part made it through to the other side. I don't remember if this phone call was even included in the novel, actually.
This room hella glitched on me one time, instead of playing the scary music when you read the note in this room, it instead played Nolan's audio for when he rolls down the stairs, lol it scared me because my TV volume was loud and I so wasn't expecting that. XD
I cannot tell you how many hours my cousin and I played this game in the middle of the night during summer break. We would always get in trouble for screaming and waking everyone up. 😅
Me too, man... I'm seventeen right now and I'd like to play this game! I have a PS1, but I never got to play this. Not sure if I would be scared of this, but I still want to give it a shot. Maybe it'll be more immersive when you actually play it.
I would LOVE to see this game on a current engine, like the RE engine. It would change the game, for sure, but if they were to get everything else spot on, I'd totally be down for it
It may may not be the news you expected to hear, but I should let you know that Capcom is finally going to officially release the original 1995 SNES Clock Tower game in the U.S. for modern consoles and PC in early 2024. The port is being handled by Wayforward Games, the same developers of the Shanbae game series. Maybe if it sells well and meets expectations, Capcom will hopefully work on a full-on remake of the original game and it's 1996 PS1 sequel someday. I do know for a fact that a reboot of the first game titled 'Remothered' was originally in development around 2007-2011, and was being handled by game developer Chris Darrill. Unfortunately, the game would suddenly end development and would later completely materialize into the version of Remothered (and it's sequel) that are out today, which is a shame. Great game, remake of Clock Tower on SNES with two sequels and two spin - off. ..but this first episode is still the best ever...I remember playing this game when I was a child with my friends into my room with lights turned off...great soundtrack during Scissorman's appearences...what a pity that no one has made yet a movie!
The cop then loses his job for hanging up on someone who was in a building with a murderer.
But then regains his job after arguing that scissorman the caller was the aggressor after scissorman was found beaten senseless on a bathroom floor.

*The cop gets promoted and given a paid vacation

Imagine if someone did one of these games with the oculus rift and in the style of Alien Isolation.
Fuck yeah!
Pass.
I would never stop screaming.

We need a new clock tower game !
the voice of the police officer at the phone killed me XD it sounds like the police chief from the simpsons.
It's getting cloudy...
You have to call the police twice to get help from them. At first they think its a prank. But when you call a 2nd time, he will help you
Well he listens, but the line is cut before the address is given. Does not change anything in the game though.
Fun scissor man escape - when being chased, go to this room and when in the room click on the window by the phone. ..

Scissorman was too embarrassed to admit that he had gotten off on the wrong floor.
2:19-2:25 How did he NOT see that coming?
(Scissor man shows in the elevator) Helen: NEVER MIND! I'LL CATCH THE NEXT ONE!
Broom vs Scissors: 1 - 0
Imagine you being followed by a ginat guy with scissors and he just sends you a fax
Yea,and the fax says " I'm here to remind you about your car's extended warranty."
wow i remember my brother used to play this and id always watch and get scared. i couldn't bring myself to touch a pair of scissors for 6 months

I loved this game. It was like playing a slasher movie
You should playBaby Sitter Blood Bath.

Bruh, police aren’t allowed to hand up even if they think it’s a prank call
I like the killer's slow hobble 🤣
This game was scary back then
It still is!
It still is
Old games often to scare more than latest generations
It's a good job somebody took a spade with them when they took a shit, and left it by accident 😂😫
I feel like the fax is a lot more goofy and funny than the developers imagined it. So is scissorman himself because he constantly bobs up and down.
I find how he walks to be rather creepy
I used to rent this game from the store, but didn't dare to play it alone in my room, scared the shit out of me
Omg this game traumatized me at age 13

Boogieman from WWE says that
Michael Mohr Hansen I didn't know he said that. I only ever saw one if his matches on smackdown.

Ay I love the music when you get followed :D
I miss the freedom game devs had back then. "hunched over guy with giant scissors? sure why not"
I wish they would remake this for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

Those waking sound effects tho.
