The Polara balls are only illegal for tournament play and if you get caught. When it's buddy vs buddy and there is large amounts of tall, cold, frosty adult beverages involved, they are fair to play with!!!

Are the measurements from the tracker even accurate with these balls, since they alter the flight path?
My thought too, there is no way a launch monitor would know to add the ball dimple pattern into it's math. Side to side dispersion seems like it would just be if these were normal balls. They should do one and actually walk it out to measure haha
Yeah I don’t think the launch monitor would actually be capable of tracking this since it WILL have actual spin rates on launch, but should be stabilizing in flight once it’s actually up in the air. That’s why you would hear them saying “dead straight” but the monitor is showing a fairly strong fade

I have an idea. Love this channel and team edge. I was thinking. Get together with your golf pro friends and team edge. Have everyone build a personalized mini golf type hole set up. Something you think the other players will struggle with. But you set up all of them and play against each other on a mini golf from he'll type video.

If you're playing just for fun, and could care less what your index is, then play whatever ball allows you to enjoy the game the most.

Was hoping for a giveaway contest 😀. KDerr, try the Maxfli Tour. It will not be straightening your shots as much as the straight-fli, however it is very consistent with the CG balancing. Plus its a 3 piece urethane cover ball. Your consistency is like mine and at Soule Park two weeks ago, I didn't lose one. All were close or in fairway off tee. Check it out. Only illegal for tournament play. You can play whatever ball you want so to use the term illegal is a bit clickbaitish. Would be cool if your playing against buddies for money but yeah you can play whatever you want if your just playing a round.
Maxfli balls are not great. Straight or not. I'm a ten handicap which is high and I would never replace my pro v1 with these. All higher handicappers should be play a good quality ball
illegal isn't clickbaity if you play golf. If i tried to play the polara against my buddies for any kind of money they would laugh me out of the match. nobody that has common sense would think they were saying the golf ball is illegal to own per the govt.
While I do enjoy your content and this is not meant as any criticism of it, you guys are blowing it. For your golf game I mean. Unlike most of us, through your channel you get access to a lot of pros. You need to make more use of them on or off camera or preferably both to my way of thinking as a fellow golf junky.
You two are talking about using balls that take out spin when you should be learning how to control the flight on demand. Hit a draw when you need it. A fade when that works better. Flight it high to catch the wind or lower to hide from it. These are skills you can't live without on some courses I've played and certainly some winds I've experienced out there. Not and still stand a chance at a decent score. And you have the best opportunity to get yourselves there right here. On your channel. Straight balls will teach you what?
Like I say, not a criticism of the content. This is your show and I'm enjoying it. Just some thoughts on why I think this choice is questionable where the betterment of your game is concerned.
