    Hey, Justine! Your video was very inspirational and motivating! I have been a LVN for over 30 years, and at 53 years old I am starting over...I worked in a hospital setting for many years (many areas), outpatient care for many years--all with the same company, quit my job because the company that I had worked for for so long decided that LVN's were no longer "valuable", and became a full-time caregiver for my Mom while living off of retirement savings. My Mom passed in October of 2020, and a few months later, my Dad began showing signs of dementia. I attempted to work outside of the home on several occasions, each time proving that my Dad needed much more attention than I was aware of at the time. Luckily, a Home Health company that I had briefly worked for had kept me on the payroll as PRN and they had asked if I could do QA/chart audits. This evolved into a much more detailed and satisfying WFH position than I ever expected, given my needs at the time. On the last day of September 2022, the company closed, pending sale. I've been on unemployment since October 2022, trying to figure out what to do next! I have been anxious and depressed, worried that I'll have to leave my Dad alone and failing. You have re-confirmed that I still have VALUE. Thank you!!! I am now looking into becoming a HEDIS Nurse.

    Thank you for your video! I’m starting a new LPN WFH job Monday with an insurance company as well as a clinical reviewer! Just got my equipment super excited! I did take a little bit of a pay cut however I have been applying for a year after I had my daughter 5/21 and was burnt out from bedside nursing even as a unit manager my license was almost in jeopardy several times and the toxic politics of working in SNF burnt me out especially after COVID. My new supervisor said she wouldn’t go back to bedside nursing for nothing 😂 I hope I feel this way too. Just worried about my toddler there may be times that I am alone with her a couple of hours until dad gets home and doing my training how do you handle that working from home? I know that my company says it’s a no no but life happens and I can’t afford childcare right now.

I have all her toys out, her favorite show on and take breaks to get her in the backyard a few times throughout my shift. My supervisor is very understanding and as long as my work is getting done but I also have two older kids who help a lot as well.

Or in your job hunting experience for remote work did some companies not have a state specific license restriction? Thank you in advance.

    Awesome job landing this job. Most of these job openings ask for prior experience in that area. I'm thinking of leaving my position as an lvn case manager in home health. Its non-bedside in-office. But I want to go back to school too. If anyone is in Southern cali and wants to take over my role, reach out.. I don't want to leave unless I find someone who can take over. Great opportunity for office lvn work. So many opportunities in nursing.

    As a LPN in Illinois, first and current nurse job is at an integrative functional medicine office. I work Monday thru Friday 8 to 4:30. As great as that sounded to me at first, the schedule that is, it started to become something I disliked. As a mom.of three also, I was still finding it difficult to get out of work on time to get my kids to any practices/after school activiites. But I also had to be in early enough that It was rush rush all morning/chaos, my husband taking them to school because he worked 2nd shift, I started to miss being able to do that with my kids. Although we had weekends off, the weeks were so.chaotic and still seemed like not enough time.to get anything done by the time I actually got home. So weekends were playing catch up. Currently making $26 hour but crappy benefits. Many perks though and I looove my actual job and what we do. However, Ive recently began exploring other options. Although skilled nursing isnt my ideal job, the flexibility and pay it offers may be worth it. I found a weekend only position that pays $42 hr for 2nd shift or $39 for first. I could work just a few days a week and not lose any money while being home with my kids and actually having time.off for life. But also flexible enough I can choose to work more or less. Not where I want to be exactly but the facility is very very nice and if I can work less, be home for my kids, and make the same amount or more, that sounds like a sacrafice worth it. As easy as a 9 to 5 job sounds, I feel like maybe I am not being appreciative of what I have. I love your videos as I can relate!! Thank you!!

      Hi I’m in Illinois also, mom of 3 and youngest only 1 year old, may I ask if you think of age 36 too old for LPN program? I heard lots of who enrolled won’t even be able to make it to graduate the program which scares me, cuz time and money is so precious to me, may I also ask which school you went to nursing pls? Thanks a lot

    • @NurseNessaMaintaining
      @NurseNessaMaintaining 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Panda-cv4xv I am 38 and have been a nurse for only 3 yrs. Once I had all prereqs to get into our community college program, the program itself was only 1 year. I had been a cna for quite some time. My kids were 6, 8, and 11 at the time I believe. I was lucky to not work that particular year but my husband worked full time and my kids homeschooled that year it was when covid happened and I had classes online mostly. Except for clinicals. Totally worth it but it's not as glamorous as one thinks unless ur in a field you love within healthcare. I am at a doctors office and it's more holistic like so I love it now. I've been here since I graduated school and it works great for my kids schedules too. Very flexible in a way. I completely changed my attitude about how I felt about 9 to 5 and made changes to help deal with the downsides I felt about it initially

    hi im new to your channel so I am going thru your videos - not sure if you addressed this one yet but where did you go to school for LVN? My bf and I are both FT workers with PT jobs and are looking to get into an LVN program together. We cant afford to quit work so it's something that we are really going to have to grind it out with. So far we have got info from NorthWest College West Cov. and other options we found were American Career/ Concorde. Thanks for the helpful videos. We too have been told skip the LVN go straight to RN but we unfortunately can't at the moment and are more than happy with the LVN route for now.

      Trying to bring attention to a VERY important topic. Not accusing anyone here of anything, just trying to bring attention and hope at least a few female nurses listen and take it to heart. Just about all female nurses blow me off or delete my comment. But whatever
      Its the issue of the REAL reason men avoid or SIGNIFICANTLY push off necessary medical issues and will DIE much much much earlier in life. Why our fathers, brothers, sons, favorite uncles, our best friends son, nephews, etc etc etc will DIE earlier in life. Its because MANY MANY MANY men experience HORRIFIC things done to them by female nurses and female medical personnel at hospitals including sexual assault and sexually degrading and rather go through the again they just avoid hold off necessary medical treatment rather than go through the sexually demeaning experience again.
      I'm NOT talking about NECESSARY medical exams, surgeries, or procedures. I wont even get into the LONG list of stuff guys endure will concious or coherent. If someone responds and asks for the stories I will share some. They are INSANE, and NOT isolated incidents.
      I'll stick my focus on this post to what female nurses and female medical personnel do to unconscious male patients under anesthesia. The thing is guys all know female nurses who have spilled the beans on some dirty little female nurse secrets. And some guys do have some memory while recovering from anesthesia. But mostly its guys knowing female nurses who share some things. Its mostly right after surgery, post surgery then when the Male patient is in the Recovery room under anesthesia and still unconscious. If the guy is cute or if a female member of the surgical team already saw the guy naked during surgery and if the guy is cute, has a small anatomy, or a big anatomy she will spread the word to other female nurses who will come in, usually the Recovery and lift his gown to laugh, gawk, or sexually mock the naked patient. Sometimes as many as 15 or so female nurses will do this from what I'm told. I ask female nurses reading this.... PUT YOURSELF IN THEIR SHOES!!! What if you found out that after your surgery while you were unconscious and under anesthesia about 12 good looking male hospital employees came in and lifted up your gown and expose you COMPLETELY naked and laugh and judge your naked body!!! ANY female nurse that sexually assaults or demeans male patients like that would be MORTIFIED if that was done to them!!! And I say to the female nurses that dont partake in this sick n twisted ritual BUT dont report the female nurses that do. You CERTAINLY would report it if it was male hospital employees doing this to unconscious female patients!!! But you turn a blind eye when female nurses do it to male patients, so your almost just as much complicit as them and YOU are enabling sexual predators by turning a blind eye.
      So I say this to female nurses.... ya ya ya ya its SOOOOO hilarious to sexually degrade unconscious male patients. BUT someday YOUR brother, father, or son will be put in that SAME position and YOU KNOW DAMN WELL he will face the same sexual humiliation that is done to SOMEONE ELSES son or father. And TRUST ME %99 of guys who experience these things at hospitals will NEVER talk about it out of embarrassment, not even to their wives or girlfriends, they are too humiliated and they know they will be sen as weak or sissies if they say they are embarrassed. They will just avoid medical treatment in the future and DIE early. Most guys wont fully know what happened to them, every is different under anesthesia, but like I said most guys know female nurses or met one throughout their lives that spilled the beans on this "secret" I'm talking about. And seriously who wants to be unconscious sprawled out naked and have a dozen female nurses laughing and judging you?!?! I mean My God. And fir any female nurse reading this who has a SON. You know they will go through this at some point in their life!!! And they will NEVER tell you about their degrading experience. It's not like when he is 25 yrs old n he has a sexually degrading experience done to him by female nurses at hospital, when he finds out 6 months after his surgery from gossiping nurses through a friend of a friend of a friend that while he was unconscious and under anesthesia 15 nurses came in a laughed at him and gossiped to other girls about his genitals, he isnt gonna run and tell his mommy. He wont tell ANYONE. He could VERY VERY VERY well become depressed over this for the REST of his life, seriously! But most importantly he will push or even avoid further medical treatment to avoid that humiliation again.
      So ya ya ya I know its SOOOO funny to female nurses to laugh and sexually humiliate male patients especially those unconscious Male patients, but I ask you this.... when YOUR SON dies at 39 or YOUR FATHET dies at 63 from not getting proper medical treatment due to his depression and humiliation he endured from a previous medical experience he had at the hands of female nurses.... when you're at their funerals crying, just remember how fucking funny you thought it was when you were sexually humiliating someone ELSES father, son, husband, etc.
      Again not accusing anyone here of anything. Just being honest about an INCREDIBLY important issue. I dont think female nurses realize the magnitude of what they are doing when they sexually abuse or embarrass male patients like this. Its LITERALLY killing off our sons, fathers, nephews, etc. At the veru least its causing severe depression for these guys and RUINING their lives that way. Which is awful in of itself

    New to your channel. Very well done. I am a brand new RN... 1 year outpatient community clinic experience. I want to grow and I was offered a job at a LTC place. The only place that would take me. I would love to work from home. Do you recommend having bedside experience first? and for how long? Thank you Thank you

    Do you need office type/computer/many words per minute typing skills? That's where I'm lacking and school didn't teach that so it is intimidating

      Hi 👋🏽 congratulations! The experience depends on the company but you will gain a lot of knowledge of discharge planning and chart review which is really important for a review nurse. Hope this helps. I will be making more videos on this role as I couldn’t find many videos on it.

    How much experience should a nurse have before being able to get a remote job … I know it’s all different but on average

    • @heyjustine8199
      @heyjustine8199  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi 👋🏽 it just depends on the company really. I’ve never worked from home but working in skilled nursing gives you so much discharge planning experience and that’s what they want.

      YES! We actually have a team that works out of the Philippines! It’s called the Global Team and I am certain most companies that are large have them to work round the clock.
