    Forget about the calories and dig in!! Montana can be a bit of a food desert, especially in the really rural areas, but the cities have amazing food. Micro breweries are everywhere. Don't forget to have a trout dinner!!

    Chicken fried steaks are the best. Black Bear Diner gives you a huge portion. The bison is to die for.

      Ughhh we have a Black Bear Diner here in my town and it's *NASTY* AF. I don't know if it's a management or location or what, but it's disgusting and we'll never give them our business again.

    Ah. Pasties. Mmm, mmm. My very first was in Missoula, MT. Have you guys ever visited Cornwall, England? I love that Cornish miners introduced pasties to the U.S. in the 19th century. I've had pasties in Michigan, California, Pennsylvania... and even in Mexico City. Same migration. Cornish miners flocked to Hidalgo, Mexico for silver mining in the 1800s. Very cool I think. (BTW, it's PASS-tees. PAY-stees are, well, another thing. 😂)

    I grew up in a cattle ranch on the border between ND and Montana. I can honestly say through many trials that the only way to eat calf ballz is fresh out of the animal and cooked in the branding fire with a little salt and pepper and beer chaser! All the breading and other concoctions only take away from the true flavor

    that looked like really good Chicken fried steak. You'll have to try some down here in Texas and see how it compares. There's a place in OKC called Kendall's that has a KFS the will fill up a huge platter. Always wanted to go there to see if it's as good as it is HUGE

    You got flathead cherries? Damn I can never get my hands on those and I've been just south of the line for 11 years😩. Everytime I find them they're sold out😣. I've always been told they're the best but I've yet to get any, always last on the drawl I guess.

    • @rhiahlMT
      @rhiahlMT ปีที่แล้ว

      They are good, not as good as Rainier cherries though. I was getting flathead cherries pretty cheap at WinCo in Helena 2 weeks ago. As usual, the Rainer cherries were 4x the price of the Rainiers.

    • @WoltersWorldEats

    • @WoltersWorldEats

      I don't because restaurants can change and I'd hate to recc a place then it changes hands/chefs etc and is no longer any good. We had some CFS in West Yellowstone that was good!
