  • The Sonos Arc Dolby Atmos Sound Bar System is very popular and one of the best whole home audio systems as well. Adding the Sonos Sub Gen 3 and Sonos One SL surrounds speakers is a great 5.1.2 system. Well how can we max that out with the Sonos Fives, Sonos Amp, and even a second Sonos Sub Gen 3 ?
I'll go over all the possibilities and then rank them in order of which ones you should spend the money to upgrade on over the Sonos Arc or Sonos Beam.
Make sure you like and sub, I'm giving away TVs and making systems better.

Hey there. Don't know if you remember my comment about waiting for LG for 2021. Well I bought the LG CX 77 inch with bracket and 5 year warranty but returning it. I read LG (CES 2021) will have a 83 inch OLED for April 2021..so I returned my LG (I have $4k credit at Bestbuy now). I did however buy the Sonos complete surround sound because I sold my Bose surround sound (he gave $2200 for it)
Arc, Sub gen 3, and two SL1. Haven't hooked it up till I get LG TV 83 inch. What do u think? Great vidz

@@victormunoz1864 a lot of action, lol. Yeah the LG OLED 77 OR 83 in 2021 should be good. Cool about the Sonos. It's not a terrible way to spend the $1850 if the money is expendable. I'm $3200 in now and my wife isn't happy 🤣

like the features, setup was difficult for some of my devices (August Door lock, th-cam.com/users/postUgkxhB5YOMNj04GuoAosExygP4cH-dKeb4aB Bose speaker)... but all switches and outlets (5), thermostat, tankless water heater. Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....

Thanks for the video. I have had the first gen play bar for a couple of years, but didn't appreciate what I had. I recently gutted and remodeled my kitchen/family room and began my research. I had ceiling speakers installed in the kitchen and above my couch in the family room to use as rear speakers to my play bar. I am powering these with two sonos amps so I can separate the two sets of ceiling speakers. When I recover from the expenses of the remodel, I plan to buy the sonos sub. Very impressed by what I have so far and can't wait for the sub.

So yes the fives will be used as a surround if the tv is used. No Arc yet but the music satisfaction is nice so far with this setup. You already said that the Subs give much more Bass compared to just the Fives. What I would like to know is how the surround sound was when the Fives were kept vertical instead of horizontal. I am installer of Sonos ARC systems with subs and rears and almost ever client needs the ability to control a center channel. Regardless of TV’s we have installed the issue with voices are being drowned out by background sounds. Sonos said they will look into it. I am not a happy installer of the Sonos ARC due to the very poor control of voice. The only way to get a better voice is set in night mode. The other issue with the Sonos ARC is the connection to HDMI ERC connection where the TV and speaker always switch automatically between TV sound and External sound. At Home Theater Experts we are moving away from this product until an ability to get more punch of voice center channel. Thoughts?

Have had sonos for several years now, been rocking a weird ass combo with an old play 5 as my "soundbar", 2x play1s as rears and a sub gen2... yes with the aux cable to the tv from the 5.. you may cringe, but it has worked perfectly for us up until now. The play 5 got outdated and can't be used in the s2 app along with the others anymore, was kind of a dissapointment but atleast got a 30% discount on any sonos product. So ofcourse i ordered a sonos arc!

Here is the problem, Sonos acr and 2 subs cost more than a Denon/Klipsch/SVS set up which is 100X better fewer compromises and supports ALL audio formats.
When I priced the Sonos arc with 2 subs and surrounds it came up to 3200.00 on their site, it required an Apple product to set it up and was still limited in audio formats supported.
Im sure for a sound bar system they are great but I just think they are asking way too much for them when compared to a full system that definitely sounds alot better
I bought a Denon X3700h, 1100.00 a Klipsch ref pack 5.0.2 speaker set up, 2 additional pairs of surrounds from Costco for 749.99 + 89.99 x2 and two SVS subs, PB-1000 Pro 12" subs 1150.00 for a total of 3150.00.
I could have used less expensive subs and not gotten the additional two pairs of surrounds, and saved a lot, it would then be a 5.2.2 for about 2000.00
The Sonos requires power for every speaker so you are still having to place them strategically and run lines, you have to depend on blu/tooth, not the nest way to send and receive quality audio signals.
IMO it is just as simple maybe even easier to run speaker wire, it is cheap, small, easy to follow the walls etc.. so for the little extra work, and the same or less money putting a full system together can sound much better, offer more and have fewer compromises.
Later on you can also decide to upgrade towers, or surrounds or both, or neither, but you have that power, no compatibility issues.
IF you have a small bedroom or a bathroom office etc.. then ok, fine a nice Sonos bar could be an easy solution.
But for a living room, or main listening environment for movies, games and shows, Id prefer larger speakers, six to 8" speakers and 12" subs for a warmer deeper more dynamic sound.
Just my opinion however I know these are very popular so get what appeals to you.
I just hate to waste money, if I had spend 3200 on the Sonos system, I think I would be less satisfied than I currently am with my set up for the same money.
I was going to order it, But the more I learned the more I liked the idea of a system vs a sound bar but to each his own, get whatever kindles joy for you.

I have the Arc, sub gen 3 and 2 sl's in a living room about 12' x 18'. I started with just the Arc and added the 2 sl's first. Next came the Sub gen 3 which to be honest did not seem to make a huge difference in this room. I had to punch up the Sub audio a bit to get that rattle the walls bass response. That was even after using the Trueplay tuning. After some tweaking I pretty happy with the system. I will say that there were issues getting the Arc connected via WiFi which required help from Sonos second level technical support to resolve, but they were great and got me going. I'm considering getting a pair of 5's for another room just for playing music. Want something with "audio in" that I can connect a turntable to so I can enjoy my old vinyl collection.

Last year during summer I bought the arc (if only i knew SL was coming? Damn!!), sub gen 3 and two sonos one's, my goal was to have a plug and play wireless dolby atmos home theater system for my small living room. Also, i'm very into smart home stuff, so having airplay capabilities was a must for me. I guess Sonos was one of the few to tick all boxes, but hey i'm super happy with it. I don't think we're going to the movies again anytime soon (and not only due to Covid). Now, it's way more comfy (and cheaper) to enjoy a nice cinematic experience with this sound system. Bring your own popcorn and chill in your couch. The tv is of course also very important, we're using a c9 LG OLED. So enabled Dolby vision and atmos for the ultimate home experience with some great movies on the apple tv. Can only recommend it if you're willing to fork over the cash! Oh, and let me tell you. Who needs a second bass? Mine is set to 0, i tried 5+ but it was honestly way too much (read shaking out of your couch during an intense scene). I can imagine destroying your couch with two of those!

    • @BTheInstaller
      @BTheInstaller  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Only 30 movies or so covers the arc at $60 per family for tickets and food. No question it's a good investment, especially in covid. Money is tough though. SL limit you from upgrading later as they have no mics... I'd rather have your ones. Lastly 2 subs and fives is actually quite helpful in large rooms as the arc and 1 sub can't cover tons of cubic ft...

In larger rooms this dramatically widens the stereo image by reinforcing the ARC, but the ARC keeps mono dialogue anchored to the TV.
