It's so sad-Sonos does not care about anything but Sonos. I'm also a 20 year Sonos customer, and they are distroying the brand. They bricked 7 of my units that I have had to replace. The controler software is confusing and the performance of the system lags what it used to be.
I've had so many sonos networking issues over the years until I finally hardwired one of the speakers into a wireless access point and now zero issues with the network
I have a fair pile of wireless Sonos speakers - Arc + 2 Era 300's plus Sub Gen 3 in the media room - Beam Gen 2 with 2 One SL's and a Sub Mini in the living room, 2 roams and 1 move, and never have any issues with the network except sometimes in the spa pool if I take one of the roams - I have 4 Google Nest Mesh hubs throughout my house though - perhaps your main problem with your wifi more than with the speakers?
E-X-A-C-T-L-Y. There is a reason the Ethernet ports are there. I got into Sonos this year after hearing a five stereo pair play. I have a spacious family leaving space, with 2 Sonos Fives at both ends. I have this tiny TPlink Gigabit 4 port switch tethered to my mesh APs and simply plug the Fives into the LAN port from day 1. NOT a single problem till date. even when people were having the missing device issues, NADA. Will probably add a mini sub if they have a lan port once they drop in price.
Welcome to the family of Sonos owners! I bought a Sony master series app) big screen TV! And I bought the Sonos premium package which is the arc and the Sonos GEN three subs along with a pair of premium Sonos surround the Sonos fives along with a Panasonic flagship UB 90 4K TX certified DVD Blu-ray player! I am a happy camper!!😃
I started out with the Beam Gen 1+Symfonisk bookshelf rears+LG OLED 55C1in the office and Nakamichi 7.2.4+LG OLED 77C1 in main TV room. I added the Sonos Gen 3 sub to the Beam set-up about a year later. We ended up watching more TV from the Sonos system compared to the Nakamichi. The Sonos set-up procedures, Trueplay, wifi capabilities, "set it and forget it" ease of use, and the ability to upgrade/add speakers at will was a huge bonus over the Nakamichi. Replaced the Nakamichi with the Arc, dual Gen 3 subs, and Fives as rears and been very happy with the change (purchased Fives before Era 300 were available).
I’ve tried the Sonos ARC and Beam Gen 2 but returned them twice because of the center channel. The dialogue was clear but it wasn’t loud enough to hear at reference volume when the action scenes pick up and it was way too loud. I live in an apartment as well and my neighbors never complained but it was still too loud for my household. I was always reaching for the remote and that became annoying. Nothing against Sonos. Great sound and very convenient but even with replacements I got it wasn’t for me. I have Sony 7.2 AVR and yes it took a lot of time to setup but I don’t need to grab the remote multiple times during a movie/tv show. Maybe when Sonos releases a ARC Gen 2 with upgrades (particularly in the center channel) then I’ll check them out again for sure. Great video by the way!
Does the 300's Stereo pair in front also play / add surround sound when watching a movie when added to your arc, 2 gen 3 subs & 2 x 300's rear ? Does all four 300's add the surround sound or does the 300's rear only ?
No they do not you can only group them as stereo pair .. ill be finding out how food they are next week when my 300s come in im gonna add to front first and have my era 100s as rear surround then swap out and use the 100s as fronts... maybe not ill just add 300s as rears and 100s as front stereo hope the latency isn't to bad eventually gonna grab another pair of 300s as well then maybe arc ultra for npw my arc 2 sub gen 3s 2 era 100s and now 2 era 300s I think I'm set
lmao this was my journey as well, but i watched my friends set up their home theatre sound systems instead of doing it myself. just pain. sonos is a beautiful system in every aspect
I won’t deny that it sounds better with your own home theatre setup that you do, but the plug in and play aspect of Sonos just makes it that much better
@@DayoAworunse A big thing for me was getting it past the wife - it was far easier to install a couple of wireless systems in the living room and media room than convince her we needed huge ugly amps & speakers and wires everywhere.
Thank you so very much for the apology. I bought myself a Sonos beam GEN 2 which worked well, but I need more so I bought the sub mini with it and it was much much better. I now have the arc along with the sub mini and I can say that I had absolutely no issues setting it up, and the sound quality for me was very good and I was pleased. I do know that the Sonos app has issues for a lot of people, but my set up it was very simple for this the arc and the sub mini. Again, thank you for the apology. I really enjoy your videos.
Hi Dayo. . I just got the sonos arc, sub Gen 3 and 2 era 100s. With the new app. I'm unable to add my subs and speakers to the app. Could u help. Is there a way we can communicate?
I have the Enclave wireless surround system and it is incredible as well. I feel like the app for enclave may lack compared to Sonos, but the quality is there for enclave. Great thing you changed your mind and tried it out again. ALot of times a 2nd go around you figure it out.
We went from a late 70's stereo radio with speakers half my height to a 5.1 Panasonic compact hi-fi. When the surround effects kicked in with the woofers cranked, it was a revelation! I think the jump from that to this would feel just as mind blowing! I'd be thumping tables too until my mom would thump my head 😂
i just use sonos for music listening. I use era 100s and a sub mini. and i needed to turn loudness and trueplay off and set it all myself and even then its to powerful for my room.

I'm kinda old school, love my tower speakers and yes using cables. I rarely use my headphones 🎧 simply because of out of sync, how is the delay using wireless speakers? I'd hate to watch an action on screen and an explosion happens before I actually hear the sound.
There is no delay as long as you connect the soundbar to the TV's ARC (Audio Return Channel) or preferably eARC and your TV isn't really old. I have 2 Sonos soundbar setups - a Beam Gen 2 with 2 One SL's and a Sub Mini in the living room connected to a 6 year old Panasonic 55" TV, and a Arc with 2 Era 300's and a Sub Gen 3 connected to a 3 year old 65" Panasonic TV, and neither has any delay. There is the option for tuning for delay in the Sonos app, but I've never had to use it, nor do I know anyone who has. One thing I would say about Sonos is last month they replaced the all important app with a new version - and the new version is utterly awful. They released it too soon to avoid delaying the release of the Sonos Ace headphones - and it was a huge mistake. They are fixing the app, but right now I really can't recommend Sonos - as without a decent app, they are sunk. Maybe give it a month or two and see if they've fixed all the issues.
I remember watching your first video when you were harsh on Sonos and thinking how wrong you were. Glad you came around on Sonos. I have a Beam 2, Sub mini, two Era 300s as my home theater setup in my bedroom, plus two Era 100s that I Bluetooth to my computers. Fantastic product and sound. I know a lot of people are having issues with the new app but fortunately, that hasn't been a problem for me. Pre-ordered the Sonos Ace and I'll have it later this week.
Dayo, I’m glad you came around. You represent the folks who tried both types of theatre systems. SOME audiophiles (not all) dismiss systems like this. This system is great for people who don’t have a lot of space and want a great experience. I will say they do have some other brands that are good. Like Seinheisser, Bang & olufsen, Bose and SAMSUNG. However Sonos has a great eco system and does sound great. The arc alone has 11 amps inside. I have the arc, sub gen 3 & era 300’s. (Someone will say.. I’m a fan boy) not really.. I don’t have a lot of space and love good sound. Like you, I don’t want to spend a few thousand dollars on just a high end receiver when I can get a full package. Great and honest review. The sub mini is powerful as well too. Sonos consistently releases speaker updates to make it even better as well… their app is currently a work in huge progress. It’ll be fixed over time.
The dismissal only really comes when the comparisons of quality (or just general consumer belief) are made and that a home theater in a box style setup or just a plain soundbar is every bit is as good as a dedicated system (which does not actually require thousands of dollars). If people would just say like you that they want better sound but are not into home theater so there is no fun in such things for them...all would be well.
From all the video reviews I’ve watched the general consensus is the Sonos Ultimate Immersive set is very good but the Samsung Q990C and D models are even better and about half the price. I think the areas Sonos wins on though for me is that it looks sleeker, it’s available in white and has the option of two subs. I’ve read though that Sonos are launching a new Arc 2 soundbar around autumn time which could make the Sonos flagship system with the Era 300 surrounds better than the Samsung.
Sonos, you really need to get your shit together⁉️🤬‼️ After 20 years of owning 18 Sonos units, I am ready to abandon the entire ecosystem. In my opinion, they have been going down hill for years. First signs they were headed in the wrong direction came with their very first update of their original AMP that stripped it of RCA outputs to force you to buy additional Connect Units. But they rebounded with a nice selection of small, medium and large dedicated speakers. But then when they stopped supporting all their early generation products and eliminated their mid sized speakers all without adding and new features to their newer generation of speakers⁉️. Instead they offered a portable speaker with a built in, non removable battery which equates to built in planned obsolescence and a freaking headphone⁉️.
Big ups on being an Adult. But Sonos is Sonos always have and always will be nothing but a glorified Bose system ( Which is not good ) Constantly Bluetooth and WiFi issues. And prior systems with there fake 5.1 claims. ( You needed a TV to read Dolby 5.1 codec because the Soundbar would not) I would not put it pass them not wanting to pay licenses fees. They started out as a speaker system for your home and their mesh network was there selling point. Not there speakers or the sound of them. ( Which has gotten better) HTIAB Is a shortcut. Do the Homework and you can find better separate options. But HTIAB has great convenience and no rear wires to run. But Sonos is just the new Bose.
A Wireless sound system system better than Sonos? The Samsung Q990c. I sold my Sonos system after 3 years. The Sonos Arc, Sonos Sub Gen 3 and both rear SL speakers are over hyped in my opinion because the dialogue was lacking. I didn't expect the lack of separation in dialogue from sound/music. It became difficult to hear what was being said. I had to use subtitles frequently especially with movies and sports (crowd noise interfered with commentators play by play). I tried all types of fixes over the years that were suggested in Reddit posts. Unfortunately nothing worked. The Samsung Q990c has richer sound (music sounds more punchy and full)and the dialogue issue is fixed now.
Sonos is really good. But what’s better is a receiver and speakers. And what’s great you can incorporate both into your system and use ROON. Qobuz is better than Apple Music, and Tidal in my opinion.
Best Buy is trash & their employees are worse (at their job, not as people). They don’t make commission. That’s why they’re never around to help & are zero help when you find one.
The app sucks but luckily I hardly use it. We started with the Gen one Sonos 5 sixteen years ago, then added the gen 2. Then got a beam gen one for watching, then added the full sub. Gave the Beam to our son and upgraded to the Arc. So rocking a great entertainment system 😂with parts purchased over 16 years, still sounds great.
Dude is yet to try out Sony, keep it shush though, let us welcome him into the audiophile comm just this slowly, soon he'll have some Devialet phantom, or Burchardt 500 " cue in the evil laugh "
The only thing that i dont like on Sonos is; I cant Play songs that are on my Phone. That i cant play TH-cam Music stright frome the app... really thinking of going to Bose 17.50 Thats i normaly feel about Sonos
@@BennBoii yeah that sucks. It seems they are working more and more with android. Hopefully one of the updates in the future will allow you to do it with android.
Stumbled across your channel. First, there are a number of companies producing good products in this space. At the top of the food chain, there are two products as far as I know: the Nakamichi Dragon and a fully kitted out Sonos system. Of the two, the Sonos is by far the easier one to setup, albeit the more expensive system. You have never heard the fully kitted out HT system so let me tell you I what it is: Arc plus two surrounds (Era 300s) plus two full size subs. That is the base system, then you group a pair of front channel Era 300s to that. That is my current HT system. I did not do this all at once. With Sonos, you can add as you go and that is what I did. In short the sound is cinematic and gives up nothing to the sound in the theater. In my workout room, there is a TV connected to a Sonos Beam and a sub mini. I also have a spare pair of One SLs grouped with the Beam. The sound is “nice” and more than adequate for working out, but nothing like my main HT system. The two systems are not even remotely close. There is much more to Sonos that you have yet to experience.
I'm sorry brother Sonos ant the move for home theater. The fact that you hooked up some random speakers and in your own words it sounded better is all you need to know. Easy setup does not trump sound quality. For multi room sound Sonos is a great option, for a "Home Theater" not so much. Also your using the term home theater loosely. Having a sound bar does not transform your living room into a home theater, I'm just saying...
I've had dozens of Sonos speakers over the years. When I decided to get their top of the line theater system a few months ago I had exactly the same issue with various speakers dropping off, failing to update, etc. 3 major versions later, their app still sucks. I only use my Sonos speakers as AirPlay targets.
SONOS is a mission to understand if you're not a SONOS guy/girl. Once you "get it" you start to go.... ahhhh.... ok, this is actually pretty awesome. But yeah, that first experience is so different it makes you want to cry.
months ago I found your video by accident complaning about sonos, and honestly I said to my self what's wrong whit this guy whit no patience at all trying to conect one of the best and easiest system in the market right now at least that was for me, and I'm coming from the Bose900 another premium soundbar way better than Vizio and trust me that's another level Sonos is even bettter now because of your mistake looks like you downgrade you system still good but not like the gen3 whit the era300. I feel sorry for the peopple having problems whit the new update app but for me I have no problems at all, don't get me wrong but for peopple like you is why they always have a lot of open boxes deals all the time so in a way thanks
Great if your priority is music, as that's Sonos' background. Not so great if you want theatre-level surround sound and a better sound stage, Sony and others are better for movies. I just picked up the BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9 and it's considerably more immersive than the Arc, it also supports the codecs home theatre fans are using, i.e. uncompressed audio from discs such as DTS X and DTS HD.
Come on. I know Sonos is good, but this are the words of someone who never had a decent soundsystem in his life. There are plenty of great systems from other companies out there.
Honestly, Sonos and many other speakers brands all look unbelievably boring or ugly. Some really high end brands might be a bit more interesting, but still they are too audiophile looking. Why cannot there be more brands like B&O?
"It sounds just as good...to people who don't particularly care THAT much about sound reproduction." Fixed that statement for you lol. $300 worth of separates won't beat dedicated DSP and software tuning. There's levels to everything and thankfully options for every stage of caring lol
None. I was just ignorant trying to review a sound system without doing any prior work in the home theater space. Smartphone and Laptops are my bread and butter.

Maybe to your ears.....thats fine.....some one else may say different
You are great storyteller. Got arc, can't wait to get sub!
got sub mini. jesus christ. amazing
Reviewing is hard, if you dont have both the experience on the higher end and the lower end you cant exactly know how good something is
I went through a similar experience. Now I'm every speaker I get is Sonos.
I have the same setup and highly recommend watching anything by Christopher Nolan with the bass pumped up, it is an EXPERIENCE!
The Sony price tags, I can’t even afford their tvs 🥹
The only thing that i dont like on Sonos is; I cant Play songs that are on my Phone.
That i cant play TH-cam Music stright frome the app... really thinking of going to Bose
17.50 Thats i normaly feel about Sonos
Did you try AirPlay?
AirPlay!
Android user hier 😂
@@BennBoii yeah that sucks. It seems they are working more and more with android. Hopefully one of the updates in the future will allow you to do it with android.
@@BennBoii if I were you I would buy a cheap iPad or iphone from marketplace and have at it
Stumbled across your channel.
Enjoyed the video - great honest presentation 👍🏻
How much did Sonos pay you for this video? I consider Sonos as the least user-friendly audio company.
@@AdriaanW1966 $0
Now add some era 100s around the house...✈
The hardware may be good. The software is still trash. The new app is slow as hell. Update processes fail regularly. It’s not worth the money.
Great review and video bro!
Nice review, new sub for sure!
Bro I remember you were unboxing the sonos era 300 and failed and that was it
I've had dozens of Sonos speakers over the years.
Watch my latest video on my apology to Sonos. I came around and understood the market
@@DayoAworunse As in, the video this comment is on?
If you think that system is gud try the era 300’s as rears will blow you away……🎉have this with the mini sub wow…🎉
Hahah, I thought you were playing yourself in the TV like you recorded it before and playing it back on that.
That what I am doing for 3 months and on going Sonos system sounds quality is brilliant but the app
Wait till you try the new Sony Quad system.
All the reviewrs are giving it high marks.
Patting yourself on the back for apologizing is so cringe bro.
This is amazing but Bose systems can give you pretty much the same experience
months ago I found your video by accident complaning about sonos, and honestly I said to my self what's wrong whit this guy whit no patience at all trying to conect one of the best and easiest system in the market right now at least that was for me, and I'm coming from the Bose900 another premium soundbar way better than Vizio and trust me that's another level Sonos is even bettter now because of your mistake looks like you downgrade you system still good but not like the gen3 whit the era300.
Я бы построил систему на Yamaha, и дешевле и наверняка лучше звучит
Enclave? Nakamichi? And true play doesn't work with android...soooo, yeah.
so i wonder what other reviews of yours can't be trusted anymore. viewers may need to wait for his apology videos now.
None. I was just ignorant trying to review a sound system without doing any prior work in the home theater space. Smartphone and Laptops are my bread and butter.
@@DayoAworunse well then I look forward to your new stuff, good on you for making this video, no sponsor reviewers must be supported.
All i can say you must have a very good job man. Or you are spoilt .BUT i have to admit you did a great job well done,

My Sonos sub g3 is full of legos lol
You need to listen to samsung Q990D
Love your videos, but my B&Ws blows the Sonos out of the water! It's absolutely worth the effort to have a receiver and wires.
Say shiiiiiiiiiiiii…
I’ll bet you not so happy now.
@@williampetzer4540 still pretty happy
Sorry Sonos? really quit simping to these clowns the kia/hyundia of audio they don't know the meaning of good or quality just extortion $$$$$$$$$$$$$
