OK, I researched and found more info on this fish, thanks to your comments. The fish is the ARAPAIMA ( local/native name) or PIRARUCU (Portuguese name). It is native to the Amazon River of Brazil and found also in Colombia. It was imported to -- and successfully raised in -- fish farms of Thailand and Malaysia. This is a really big fish reaching more than 2 meters long and weighing 100 kilograms. And people consider it quite tasty. Bon Appetit!

It is but it was also almost fished to extinction, there are mini paima farms in the amazon and stuff because commercial fishing of them is banned so they are at least sustainable, but local tribes people have eaten them for god knows how long are still able to fish them, I'd love to try one.
Not in Thailand. It's Alian species here and farm raised. Thai ppl should learn to eat it, in case they found it in nature here because it will ruin the Thai's river environment. They can keep this fish in the origin country, but not here. U see this let the Thai local fish go, but not this Alian. Found this fish in nature is big topic here. Then someone must rush to remove it from the river.
They only eat kids and ‘little people’ occasionally a ‘special or slow one’ such as Shane “the floater” Gillis who fishes for these with ladyboys in Laos.
Lord this fish has the scales of a dragon. I can’t believe there’s a fish in this world where a hammer is needed to remove the scales.

walter becerra those were lotus seeds
Приятного аппетита 👍🌷🌷🌷
The fish butchers really know what they're doing. Obviously experts.
The bumpy fruit pods are lotus plants with seeds in them.
That's a beautiful fish I would rather Keep it than eating it
It is but it was also almost fished to extinction, there are mini paima farms in the amazon and stuff because commercial fishing of them is banned so they are at least sustainable, but local tribes people have eaten them for god knows how long are still able to fish them, I'd love to try one.
Nathan are u sure because they can grow to 9-10 feet and has large jaws and sharp teeth
@@cyanish2636 yes I will I'm a fish keeper I would love to have that kind of fish in my tank
@@beautifulvillian405 if it's a pest in thailand kindly send it to me here in the Philippine I would love to keep it

They only eat kids and ‘little people’ occasionally a ‘special or slow one’ such as Shane “the floater” Gillis who fishes for these with ladyboys in Laos.
Não sabia que se criam pirarucu em outros países, principalmente em países que não estão na América do Sul e fora da região amazônica.
