My dad is from France and my mom is a Filipina from Sampaloc. Manila me and my 3 siblings my oldest brother and my older sister both of us shock when we move to the Philippines we grow up in france. But when we move to The Philippines what i notice for filipino people are they are so resilient , and respectful and caring this is why we moved in my mom home country its just wonderful to hear that we as Filipinos are loved for people who have been lived here. This is something that we should proud of🖤🩶 love you all!♥️

I like these video. As a filipino, i like to know what foreigners really think about my country with a foreigner interviewer, so they express it
That's why you get baited easily. You don't have to worry about what other people think. I'm also a Filipino, and I always see foreigners as our equal. They are not above us/better than us. We're just the same. Stop with your inferiority complex or trying to find validation from them. The problem with Filipinos is they always see foreigners, especially the foreign men, as their savior, someone that can lift a family from poverty. Can we just stop with that mindset and stop belittling ourselves. That's why some of these foreigners don't have close friends here because Filipinos have this colonial mentality or hero complex when it comes to foreigners. They're just the same as us. Geez. Don't put them on a pedestal. It would be easier for them to have friends if we treat them no differently.
Filipinos are sometimes shy but if you're willing to open yourself up to deeper connections, it's not really that hard to fund a real friend here in the Philippines.
Phil. designed by capitalist a place nice for living for foreigner those who have plenty of money to spend and enjoy their living our natural beauty of our country
fund? like fund funding?? 🤔

As long you speak Tagalog well (outside Manila). and don't talk like if you know personally any filippino.
This has to be one of my favorite street interviews of foreigners in the Philippines. Great questions and editing, really allowing them to express their thoughts and no "clickbaity" moments
Pro tip for living with Filipinos. No filipinos will ever force it require anyone but speaking Tagalog will take you to a different level as now they will see you as actually a Filipino. Very low requirement but speaking the language fluently will let you fly under the radar. Very good vlog by the way. Thanks for sharing.
Speaking the language fluently is not a very low requirement though. That takes years and years. I think if someone knows a bunch of phrases that are used in everyday situations, slang, and even funny words/jokes and the right situations to use them to make a Filipino laugh, that goes a long way already.
@@BloodAndSweatNoTears it's a basic requirement to anybody who wants to live in any country. kinda comes with the country. I'm an immigrant myself.
i like how the girl in red dress explains her insights. I believe that as a filipino, when a foreigner learns what we also used to do, we kinda look at them as equals to us. The culture of Filipinos about hospitality influences how we see foreigners.
I think if you are an expat in the Philippines and you didn't build any friendship in a month - that's on you. Filipinos are generally welcoming; however, you need to show them you are genuinely interested in making friendships too. You have to open up yourself to deeper conversations - which most Americans and Europeans are not very comfortable in the first meeting. If you show them that you are a friend, you will be treated as a friend.
You have a talent in interviewing people. You made them comfortable enough to share their deep emotional thoughts. That's something that's not easy to do.
I do agree 👍
Sometimes, its not all just because your living in another country. Ive noticed that as I mature, I like to keep a small circle of friends unlike before. You become less social, crave for more alone time, or be with family especially when your parents are getting older. I think it comes with maturity too.
But I also heard of Filipinos migrating to other countries, the first thing they do to get settled is find a Filipino friend to manage homesickness. So I guess, its the same with these guys.
As an American I can confirm it's the same. As much as I like Filipinos, I will never be able to relate with them and they will never be able to relate with me and that's okay. That's what makes our cultures beautiful. The differences....
@@SpiritShinobi agree however as a foreigner living in another country, it is important to make the effort to interact with the locals in your community. EFFORT is necessary. Aside from building camaraderie, tt can also be beneficial to you especially in case of emergency where you will be needing help, or you want valuable info that only the locals know. It will make life easier --and happier.
In general filipino is kind, humble , hospitable..open minded..
This vlog is exemplary. Me being a Filipino is curious what expats think about us. Thank you for this vlog. Btw, we may feel distant to foreigners but rest assured we are very friendly. Filipinos tend to be shy.
This is beautiful. Not the usual street interview. There's deep sentiments and emotions😊😊😊
Speaking of friendships happening ‘organically’ without trying or putting in effort, I haven’t made a single friend organically living in Japan for almost 13 years. I happen to be a very friendly, outgoing, laid-back, open-minded Canadian. I understand that trying to make friends can come across as being ‘needy’, so I’ve never really gone out of my way to really initiate friendships. I often approach people to introduce myself and chat for a short while, which I figure should be enough to initiate a friendship, but it has never happened. From my experience everyone often seems to already have their regular friends established and seem to not have any desire to increase their friends. Just my experience.
Great topic to talk about. From my perspective as a Filipino, I'm introvert but with this kind of community, you can never get lonely here. Sometimes my mother would advise me again and again to mingle with other people because its a cool positive thing, to build connections, friends. We relate to each other in terms of hardships, common things etc.
And btw, did you know that this country is the lowest rate of suicide in Asia? its only 2%. It's because we've been resilient for a very long time and just trying to survive in our life everyday but we still smile and be positive about it even times in Typhoon. We often say "Bagyo lang yan, Pinoy kami!" Which translates "It's just typhoon, we're Filipinos!".
New sub here. Keep it up!
I would have loved your comment but the comment on the suicide rate almost sounds like you are craving for validation. I don't know why do Filipinos do this. And btw, I'm also a Filipino.
Yes i agree, all i can say is that , dont find yourself to the other , we are not thesame, all you have to do is to understand, and no hatred.
As a Filipina American, it is almost like feeling displaced. I would relate more to the foreigners in the video, but still hold some of the cultural aspects. I wish all the participants of this video be safe, have success in their island life, be able to find and create long lasting friendships. I hope they don't give up and give the Philippines a chance. They are living my dream.
As pilipino we dont see a foreigners as higher than us but we just like to respect other people
That’s correct. Filipinos are welcoming, friendly and respectful due to its culture but they don’t see foreigners as higher than them except perhaps you measure one’s achievement and status in life even between Filipinos.
You are definitely blind. Many Filipinos see foreigners as banks and sometimes take advantage of them. Many Filipinos also seek foreigners for a better life.
INCORRECT. where do you think the word AFAM comes from? its self explanatory. MONEY. FILIPINOS SEE EVERYTHING AS MONEY. therefore, if u have more money, they will respect you. as what u said, ''one's achievement'' = money.
also dont forget the debt of gratitude or ''utang na loob'' dont be silly. @@annmarie6001
Right
Meanwhile poc are getting direspect and unwelcome in western countries.
this was sentimental and the questions you asked them were great. i wasn't expecting it would be this good. it's almost like a professional documentary. great job.
One of barriers I think with expats making friends here is that language barrier. Imagine being a pinoy in a tight group and you introduce a foreigner who can’t speak Tagalog. The group now would have to accommodate the expat and speak in English all the time. It surely is draining if you’re not used to it.
You can encounter Filipino around the world and one of the character they posses is to easily adapt to the environment wherever that be. They are friendly people. Likewise the feeling of longing to the place, home, friends, where you spent half of your life is what we feel also. "No place like home" as they said.
It's not that Filipinos adapt easily, it's because Filipinos like to think that any place else other than their country is better so they have to make it work. Let's stop with this resilience thing. It's a lie.
I think friendship comes with the length of people living in your life. If we are visiting a place short time, we can expect that we won't have friends.
im filipino and man i like you stuff plain and simple much love to y'all expats here in Philippines
This is an excellent way to also help Filipinos understand how foreigners perceive things here as well.
Great video Rob, thank you
According to my kuya, he never felt loneliness or isolation living/working in Europe because there are many Filipinos there. The only mindset that he don't like with locals was they call filipinos as migrant workers while in the Philippines, we call them foreigner.
Love your videos!
It's not the typical traveler blog or impression of the Philippines or expats experience of the Philippines.
There's depth to it.
Keep it up!!!
Great topic and content overall. Love this interview.
Your interview style is unique so far. I like it!
I ❤ this one. It’s truly touching!
So honest and sincere. Love this video. I feel like i wanna give hug each one of them.
Great interview! I love the insights of the people too.
A very interesting topic. Good job Rob, I say this is pretty unique content. And well edited too!
I love your topic… having a good organic friends is a blessings specifically if your outside your country
I think your series on human connections is going to be awesome.
I think the people( foreigners) want to blend in to be more acceptances by Filipinos, not just because they are foreigners or they differences. They seem to be wanted as normal people like us and learn more about our culture, lifestyle, beliefs, tradition, food, and more close relationships to ours. It is grateful for them to reside and live here. That's an amazing gesture.
Exactly. But most Filipinos treat foreigners as if they're some sort of savior so the interaction becomes superficial and less genuine. And the Filipinos always long for validation because of their inferiority complex. And this is observation is coming from a Filipino.
Wow im am a filipino and i am amazed that they actually feel the real filipino how to deal with it especially the lady in red she know how to deal with us
I like your content, Rob. Cheers mate!
thank you for this video. i’ve been looking for this kind of content regarding the philippines. where the questions are bigger and not just more daily vlogging. cheers mate
I am currently working as nurse in Singapore for almost 2 years. Honestly, you will feel lonely as you are living alone because you don’t have any connections to people you are closed with. For me, I prefer to have small circle of friends and most of the time you have peace of mind. You just have to find out how to divert your attention or put your time to interesting things. Nice content! Kudos..
As a filipino we are thankful and always be grateful to all expats and foreigners coming into the Philippines because you all contributed in the development in any form it might be, financial or information awareness. We'll strive to be hospitable with evryone and respect our co existence and differences so we could live together in peace and harmony
Have to say, this is a good one! keep it going!
To look at the psychological aspect of a culture by asking people who grew up outside of it, this video is an exemplary example of it. This is some GREAT stuff, man.
I don’t know why but as a Filipino we tend to humble ourselves to different people groups from other countries. We love people from other countries. Nice video! From Florida USA
Your video is more calm and organized than most video interviews ive seen. Keep it up and you have beautiful blue eyes and nice pointy nose by the way 😋❤.
KEEP it up brother! mabuhay ka
man, the way you conducted those interviews is literally one of a kind. it's an eye-opener, and also mind boggling. i can feel that you didn't just put your mind into it but you really poured your heart with it.
Oh thanks for coming back on TH-cam and Tiktok with your no nonsense interview Hope you doing great.
this is a very nice topic.. it hits different cos you're an expat too. thanks for being here ❤
Yoo really enjoyed the video man! From the storytelling and coherent blend between interviews, to your own outlooks on the whole situation 😌 I have had issues with the same topics you mentioned in the video and can relate to the difficulty of finding deep and meaningful friendships whilst traveling, pursuing your goals and being away from home. Well done, I appreciate the effort put into the video 🙌🏼
I like this video. Everything feels so genuine.
This channel should be blowing up now, very interesting content, motivational, educational purposes, cannot tapped it up
This video made my day. I have never visited the Philippines but I plan on it because I get a positive impression about the country and The Filipinos I have met. I hope your channel takes off and wish you the best of luck brother!
Great content bro! keep it coming.
Awesome video! I aspire to travel someday myself. Thank you for the perspective and content.
You are in a right path using philippines to grow your channel.. Good luck
Thank you for making this video. Get to know them and they will be a good friend and Filipinos will consider you as part of their family 😊
I applaud you for your courage in talking about a serious and personal matter. Thanks for sharing your vulnerability about your own experiences.
Your conversations were deeply insightful, especially since I can relate to what you're talking about, being someone who's living in a different country.
More power to you and keep it up! 👍🏽
This is a very well presented video almost like a case study.. Job well done
Love your vlog so real and pure. Dont be sad here. Its not that hard to build friendships here🎉
Hey i love the whole message of the video and how the whole interviews went
another great content from rob wonders 💯
Great job young man, really great job.
Sarap panoodin, ang chill lang. The interview, edit, and bg music. 👌
Wonderful interview. The vibes felt genuine and sincere. Loved it very much.
dude, your contents are getting so good ♥️♥️
I just realized, you've been gone in youtube for so long, so I'd say WELCOME BACK! 🎉
All you need to do is NEVER compare yourself with others. Regardless if you have bigger goals or not. If you continue doing that you will always be isolated. Just live and enjoy each moment. Having few friends even if they are far away is better than having none. Life is short so remove the self-centered attitude. Otherwise, you will always be lonely no matter where you live
I really enjoyed this, deep and introspective..
I just woke up in a late monday night to watch random videos about learning different languages. I end up liking this video and subscribing as context of this vlog is pure. 🙂💞
Pretty good content, Rob! I have lived almost all my life in the US and still find it amazing that most foreigners living in the PHL have the same impressions of the natives when it comes to culture, behaviour, and outlook in life. Looking forward to watching your other/future vlogs.
I appreciate expat in the Philippones for their honest thoughts about my fellow filipino😊nice interview❤❤❤Stay safe en God bless. Wfrm Hongkong
Thank you for seeing the positive in our country and enjoying it despite its flaws. im glad our country could leave a postive impression on you!
This is actually a very good interview on foreigners perspective on our country and us filipinos 😊
I like your content. As a Pinoy, I'd like to know what they can tell about my people, the country, living in, life comparison etc. keep it up. Mabuhay ❤
Learned something today, Just smashed sub brother. Felt the same way too but I have experienced having a westernian officemate. I and other colleague give him a good tour of the good places to have food and cheap of course, nice place to have a beer with good ambiance etc.
I won't hold myself anymore talking to foreigners and making friends when I get the chance!
Keep the videos coming Bro! Bless you
Good video, this channel has more direction now, good job.
Very nice video. You seemed to want to say something but was hesistating at the end of the video. Looking forward to your next videos on human connections. Pure filipino here and happy to share my thoughts and hear yours.
Hi Rob. Very interesting Vlog. I liked it different perspective from expats... Greetings from Filipinos from Germany!
I really enjoyed this series of interviews on a truly interesting and valid subject
I like your insight about friendships. Very mature.
you had some good questions, keep it up!
I like the style/approach on your video. 😊
Rob once again putting out quality content like always
I like watching this kind of video. It’s kinda sensitive and honest to their feelings.
It's been a very long while...thanks for coming back out...
this is an eye opener..
Love this video.
I like this type of content so I'm definitely subscribing. It's very insightful.
Welcome back!
Great job on this video. I hope to watch more of your videos. The African-American guy is right to build friendships you need to go and meet people. One of your interviewee, the Russian lady with a small dog, mentioned that she seemed had a hard time making friends in the Philippines...that's her opinion. But, I can say that if she limits herself to find and make friends only to expats but not more with the locals, then indeed, she really would have hard time to meet new friends.
The guy you interviewed at Burgos Circle and the lady in red dress, I admire them for having an open mind and have opened their hearts that to be able to make more relationships in the country, you need to know the culture and the way they are. That is making yourself to level with the locals. Then you would understand them. By moving to a different country and settling there, it is expected that you would build more connections with the locals and yes with the other foreigners too; but you should look forward in meeting and making relationships with the locals.
Thanks for this video mate.
They don't even learn and speak the language.
Great video!
As a Filipino myself, I would love to meet foreign nationals as it feels like I’m travelling myself! Whenever I’m touring domestic places I approach tourists who might need help then eventually I make friends with them. Although as an introvert I only want to make real connections and that’s a challenge.
I'm not a foreigner but I'm from the province and feel the same way you guys have, now I'm trying to get out and find very good friends. Thanks for this video
Aw, nice. Brief sharing opinions, nice content, thanks bro 🇵🇭🧡🙏
what a great content, this give me a different perspective on the foreigner's life here in ph.
Rob I love watching your videos amazing
Very insightful!
Yeah, this is a real one❤😇🙌🏾
Nice perspectives .❤
As a foreigner living here now i think Filipinos find us foreign as superior to them idk if it's a respect or something but they never discriminate against you from being different which is good...
Actually yes they are friendly and a bit shy at first but if you approach them they are welcoming and friendly but if you want deeper friendship i think we need to work it out by going out... And Filipinos are one of the kindness and smartest people in the world i hope they realize it...
This dude needs more subs.
